Bridgewater looked primed for a big season.

Just saw it and it sucks for us too. Now AFC teams that have to play the Vikings, and Cowboys may not have to face their starting QBs.
****
Do you think anyone in the afc has to play both?
2 different divisions so it seems slim to me but I haven’t checked
We can’t worry about that. We need to take care of our own business.
Of course no AFC team can play them both, I should’ve said or. AFC teams play one entire NFC division, 4 teams only, on a rotating basis, so you play every team exactly once every four yrs.
Revis Island tore his knee on a non-contact play. (I think) DTgazillian broke his ankles on a play and he blew out his knee.
Matt Moore to the vikings for a 3rd round pick!
Suggestion not “news”
Shaun Hill and Taylor Heinicke doesn’t scream quality backup so it’s not impossible.
Matt Moore isn’t fetching a 3rd RD pick. I’d take a 5th RD pick though
A sixth would be a steal for him.
Straight up for Chad Greenway
Well we know now that Vigil won’t be part of the 53 for at least 6 weeks of the season.
So my picks for: Alonso, Jenkins, Misi, Paysinger, Hewitt, Hull and Burgess might be accurate. Though I won’t be surprised if it’s only 6.
Now is the time to trade Moore
5th conditional to a 4th
Boy, everyone is always so quick to trade our veteran backup QB. What happens if Tannehill gets hurt? We have to go find a veteran backup QB. Makes no sense. You keep a guy like Moore for exactly the situation the Vikes find themselves in.
That’s a good point as well. Also the NFL does not make a lot of player trades because of contracts, yes it happens but it’s not a lot. it’s not like MLB.
That said I don’t think Dysert is a big drop-off from Moore. No he has never started a game but Moore went the undrafted route and had to start at some point. Dysert is a 4th year former 7th rd pick. He’s also more mobile than Moore.
Dysert can play a little, he’s not in Moore’s class, but I’d do the trade if the compensation was below a 5th. I’m not giving up the QB insurance for a 5th or 6th. The team needing to make the trade has to pony up more than normal, because they’re desperate.
Gase calls out Parker for nagging injuries
Dolphins coach Adam Gase said DeVante Parker (hamstring) needs to do “the little things” off the field to stay healthy.
Parker tweaked his left hamstring in Monday’s practice after missing several weeks of camp with a similar injury. “I feel like I’ve been through this with Demaryius [Thomas] in Denver,” Gase said. “Sometimes it takes some guys more time to learn more than others. Eventually … he will know how to push through certain kinds of pain.” Gase is clearly frustrated with the sophomore, who has fallen behind Kenny Stills on the depth chart
I watched him say that. It’s learning how to be a pro. But I think this is a lot of speculation. The top 3 WRs are Landry, Stills and Parker, who cares what order, we’ll be in that formation a lot? Parker just has to learn how to take care of his body better. DeVante!!!! Water!!!!!
Dolphins coach Adam Gase conceded Tuesday that third-round pick Leonte Carroo “has got a little ways to go.”
Gase mostly praised Carroo, commending him for his talent and work habits. But he also hinted at why Carroo hasn’t made a run yet for work in three-receiver sets. “He doesn’t know some of the things he needs to know to help himself,” said Gase. “That (comes) a little bit from experience.”
Which is another reason Griff Whalen makes the team.
I didn’t pick Whalen to make the team after final cuts next sat.
I didn’t either but he’s on the edge and it would not shock me if he made the team.
Griff was my late hour adjustment, after Stills and Parker went down yesterday, so y’all can thank me for those 2 not being seriously hurt 😛
My dad (and brother) lived in Minnesota a few years ago, LOL transferred from Los Angeles. I could take or leave the Vikings, but my dad and brother like them as a sorragate team. The thing I feel sorry for them is it happening to Bridgewater this year, because of the new stadium.
I don’t remember if I picked Whalen or not. lol
Son, Boulder, D, Twice, and I are the only ones that took him. Doubt he makes it after the news today on Stills and Parker.
Thanks Steve. I can’t view it at work. I’ll have plenty of other misses on the roster though, I’m pretty sure of that
Cuts from some of the other teams, and people id entertain consideration for. for the PS. Bronson Kaufusi DE, Reese Dismukes, OC/OG, Lamin Barrow LB, Jason Fanaika LB, Brandon Browner CB (though he would have to be an active roster add), Andy Gallik OC/OG. I also wouldn’t mind adding Hazel back to PS if he is still eligible Barrow may also not be available for PS, not sure.
A little surprised on Bronson Kaufusi DE, even though I thought he was a little stiff, but he made a lot of plays in college.
He’s also a guy that can slide inside and play DT in certain formations, giving you an additional pass rush specialist. Id like to take a look at him and see if we couldnt develop him.
Im also kinda surprised that Brandon Browner got cut, we could bring him back and pair him with his former teammate.
We dont have much right now by way of a starter or a ton of depth either.
Is Trump flip flopping on immigration? Do people even know what that means? You have to take one side then the other then back to the original, Like Hilary with TPP. Trump may change his mind on things, but that’s what he’s always done in business. He evaluates the situation and if it needs to be adjusted, then that’s what he does. For example, when building a skyscraper, he keeps evaluating and if right now it makes sense to continue he continues, regardless of what he invested in it. He doesn’t throw good money at bad.
Randy: If Tannehill is injured and Moore is the starter would it really matter if Dysert is in there instead of Moore? Moore would do a lot better handing the ball off to AP than Jay Ajayi
Moore looks like crap, but he gets the job done. If he had started the last 4 years I think we would’ve won more games, but it wouldn’t have led to anything. His ceiling is maybe 10-6 and a playoff win, RT’s ceiling is the sky, he’s probably never going to win us an SB, but his skills aren’t limited like Moore’s are.
So, how does the roster challenge work with positions? I mean, Paysinger is listed as Misi’s back up on the roster at LOLB but he may start at ROLB for Jenkins.
Is as slot reciever a WR1 or WR2?
We all pick 53 and the one with the most at any position right wins, tie breaker is Dolphins points on Thursday, but for you, you have to get the position correct too for it to count.
From what I’ve seen I really like whalen. I think he makes the team. I’m one of the only people that thinks we’re gonna keep 5 rbs. I think that’s wrong. I just didn’t know who to cut.
I also went with Gray instead of duarte which I think is wrong as well.
I flopped back and forth between Gray and Jones and Jones is what I’ve got listed but I wanted to go back to Gray but it was too late. Gray seemed to be doing pretty good on special teams and with blocking but Jones was the guy catching the passes. So, it all depends I guess in what they’re looking for in that #3 guy
Tannehill, Moore
Parker, Caroo, Scott
Landry, Stills, Grant
Ajayi, Foster, Williams, Drake
Cameron, Sims, Duarte
Albert, Bushrod
James, Young
Steen, Pouncey
Tunsil, Thomas
Turner
24
Mitchell, Phillips
Suh, Jones, Warmsly
Williams, Jones,
Wake, Branch, Fede
Jenkins, Hewitt
Alonso, Johnson
Misi, Payslinger
Maxwell, McCane
Howard, Lippet, Chekwa
Abdul-Quddus, Aikens, Thomas
Jones, Gary
27
Darr
Denny
Franks
So where am I officially wrong here so far?
You also lose a point for spelling McCain wrong.
LOL the funny thing is I didn’t type the names in. I highlighted them on the Dolphins website roster and cut and pasted them here!!

Waived LB Akil Blount, OL Ruben Carter, LS Ryan DiSalvo, TE Gabe Hughes, PK Marshall Koehn, CB Al Louis-Jean, G Vinston Painter and WRs A.J. Cruz, Matt Hazel and Brandon Shippen. Released CB Brandon Harris.
Tuesday, August 30, 2016
Placed DE Dion Jordan and LB Zach Vigil on the reserve non-football injury list.MINNESOTA VIKINGS – Waived DE Theiren Cockran, Ts Sean Hickey and Austin Shepherd, TE Brian Leonhardt, DT Claudell Louis. WRs Marken Michel, Troy Stoudermire and Terrell Sinkfield, LB Terrance Plummer and QB Brad Sorensen. Released C John Sullivan. Waived/injured DT Scott Crichton and S Antone Exum, Jr. Placed G Mike Harris on the reserve/non-football illness list.
So far I don’t see anyone on my roster on this list of transactions.
Ken,
I think folks under value Moore. He’s nothing special, but he is an experienced veteran that would, hopefully, at least not cost you games. I don’t think our record would be much different with Moore at QB. Dysert is completely untested, and nobody knows how he would perform over the long run. Moore, at least, has a track record the coaches can look to. My opinion isn’t really about Moore. It’s more about having experience at the position. Even with Tannehill, it’s not like we’ve been winning a lot of games.
I don’t undervalue him. I think he is worth at least a 3rd to Minny.
If he went to Minnesota does he start over Hill. I doubt that. Hill has the offense down and when you compare both careers Moore’s done nothing special compared to Hill that would make him the better prospect for Minny.
As a backup to Hill I also don’t think he’s worth a 3rd because once you get to the point where Minnesota’s at there’s very little in the way of hope that either Hill or Moore would get you into the playoffs.
Teddy’s done for the season. So, Minnesota’s season is done at this point. They’re not going to do anywhere near as well as they would have with Bridgewater in there.
In addition, Dysert knows Gase’s system as well as anyone on the roster and when you consider that Tannehill’s been healthy all four seasons you don’t concern yourself with the backup as much as you would otherwise. Either way, with Moore or Dysert, we’re going to see a guy holding a clipboard on the sideline. So, whether it’s Moore or Dysert as the #2 does it really matter if neither is going to see the field anyway
I don’t agree, I think with the D Minn. has Moore could take them to the playoffs without being anything special, just Like I don’t think Bridgewater is all that.
They’d go maybe 7-9 or 8-8 at best with Moore. He makes too many mistakes anymore.
I am watching the replay of the NE / Car game and on a punt Ted Ginn got the ball and the announcer says ” Ted Ginn, a little basket catch, no blockers but the boundary was his friend.” and I couldn’t help but think “oh yeah, they are very old close friends.”
Rock, you have a 54 man roster…automatic DISQUALIFICATION …next!
He can’t add, but he only has 53. His O is 24, D is 26 and 3 ST, he listed Grant twice.
I feel bad for bridgewater. I like his game and hope he gets back. Feel bad for the viking fans. This has happened to them twice now.
turner would probably want a QB that’s played in his offense. Look for charger backups from a few years ago.
I can’t really see them going out and getting Charlie Whitehurst.
I hope we trade Moore, he throws horrible INT’s…the game has seemed to pass him by already. I think he’d get ate up on the field.
The Vikings announced Teddy Bridgewater suffered a completely torn ACL and dislocated left knee at Tuesday’s practice.
This was the fear. Bridgewater also suffered “other structural damage,” and he’s obviously done for the season.
Man I feel for him….that’s gonna be tough to ever get right.
Kaufusi wasn’t released by the Ravens. There was an erroneous report that he and Stephan Nembott were both part of the cuts down to 75 but they were both placed on the IR.
That’s very kaufusing for us arm chair GM’s.
He’s played this preseason like he’s hurt.
Randy:;
I don’t think it really matters much if we have Moore or Dysert in there. I am not sure it matters much if Minn has Hill or Moore in there. I don’t think much of Hill and realistically think Minn’s chance are in the tank if he is under center. I think Moore offers them an upgrade but I am not sure that he makes them a playoff team.
On the other hand I think Tannehill gives us a fighting chance to win and Moore wont cause us to implode but I think the chances of winning go down with him in there. He is probably better than Dysert but does it really matter because if Moore is the QB we are not winning that much anyways. If Minn would trade for Moore I am all for it. I don’t think they will but if they are interested we should deal.
Realistic QB options for Vikings that is not likely to cost them anything or anything significant:
Zach Mettenberg
Mark Sanchez
Kaep
Geno Smith
Sam Bradford
McCown
Michael Vick

Are there good ones? JK…. 😉
The ones our defense grabs
If it’s week 15 and we’re in the playoff hunt and Tannehill goes down I want Moore over Dysert all day long.
You mean like layers?
Like A Moore/dysert lasagna?
Yes lasagna
So is Devante Parker the new Mrs Glenn?
I hope not
But look – Landry is so tough, it’s okay for Parker to be a little soft
Stills is balling if he stays healthy, glad yesterday turned out to be ok for him.
LOL @ Herd….ture, no such thing as a good INT….but ya knew what I meant.
…for Tim & Mike E, yikes, I sure hope this is CGI ?
That’s from that. Blake Lively movie
Yummy, that view doesn’t start off frightening at all.
Glad to see Gae as young as he is & a 1st time HC, not afraid to call out a #1 pick like Parker….let’s see if Parker accepts the challenge gauntlet that Gase threw down!
It could make them both millions more now 😉
The team site shows Ekpre as reserved injured on the roster. Chris McCain is gone, so the list has been updated.
What’s the magic number on this site of logins, before it will save it?
Ekpre was on the reserved injured already. they waived him injured and then brought him back on the reserved/injured and are most likely going to give him an injury settlement.
The Eagles and Mychal Kendricks are not happy with one another. It appears the team has made a decision to play Kendricks thru all 4 qtrs. in the final preseason game and Kendricks isn’t happy with the decision.
If they decide it’s time to cut him loose he’s a guy I’ve been talking about bringing to Miami since last year. With Jenkins continuing with his injuries it would be nice to have some additional depth at the LB position. Hewitt has been a pleasant surprise but Kendricks could be a nice addition to the LB unit.
what actually makes Matt Moore more expendable isn’t Dysert; it’s the fact that Tannehill doesn’t get injured. You don’t need Moore when you’ve got a starter who doesn’t go down
LOU; Given Miami’s current inexperienced and leaky O-Line, betting that Tannehill won’t get injured and miss plays/games this season is far from a sure thing. –In fact, I would not be surprised if Seattle’s defense (which took out Romo already) puts a few big knocks on young Ryan. If you want to get rid of Moore for lack of talent or performance, you’d better have someone else backing up Tanny who is AT LEAST AS GOOD AS MOORE!!
————-
NONE OF US should ever forget the lessons of Earl Morrall. When Unitas got hurt early in Super Bowl V, Morrall came in and led the Colts to victory!! – -And, of course, without Morrall, THERE WOULD BE NO PERFECT SEASON!!! – – Backup quarterbacks are very important!
Seriously, is Moore that much better than Dysert? C’mon. In all honesty I don’t think anyone can say that Moore is so much better than Dysert that I would make that much of a difference in our season with him in there.
Tannehill’s had the shit kicked out of him for four seasons now. Our o-line is getting better at pass protection. I’m not worried about Tannehill getting hurt. He’s a lot more durable than Romo and Romo being what he is getting hit by Seattle and getting injured isn’t a fair comparison to Tannehill’s durability.
Lou, what NFL regular season or playoff game have you seen Dysert play in that makes you think he’s close to Moore?
Look at the way Dysert runs the offense. Gase brought him in for exactly that reason. Moore’s as good as gone.
NFL Update @MySportsUpdate · 2m2 minutes ago
Former Browns DE Paul Kruger is signing with the Saints.
Saints hurting on D, but that might be a nice pickup. Seems that when teams cut vets like this it’s done to dump the contract guarantee, and allows the player time to find another team. In other words Kruger most likely has something left in the tank. Watch Kruger beat out McCain, and we get no 7th for him
The fact of the matter is if either Moore or Dysert is playing, we are fucked.
My point exactly so why not trade Moore if someone wants him
What has RT done in the win column to make you say that? I could see your point, if you’re also saying we’re fucked, if RT doesn’t vastly improve this year.
I can see us winning 10 games this year with Moore starting every game. Put him behind a good pass blocking line and he’s pretty good. RT has stats, great potential, but so far he’s missing the IT factor. When the game is on the line he doesn’t turn on that switch that says I can’t be stopped.
Five years ago I would have agreed that Moore could probably do that but he’s not the same qb he was five years ago.
And you know this how?
because you can see it in the way he plays. there’s a big difference
There is a reason why Matt Moore is not a starting QB. If he was a 10 win QB teams would be pounding down our door for him
something is wrong when I’m the one who’s complimenting tannehill
I’m not down on him, I’m just stating what I’ve seen for 4 years. Down 5 with 2 minutes left, with the ball on our 20, my confidence level that we’re going to win hasn’t been high. Right now I’d say in that same situation the chances we’really going to win is pretty good, based on this preseason.
My problem with the whole situation with Parker is this. I understand these are grown men and you shouldn’t need to hold their hands but by the same token you’re making an investment in these players and you’ve invested in sports science and nutrition and that “department” should be just like a coaching position.
they brought in the rookies and used their mini camp to teach them how to be professionals but they apparently don’t spend the time with the guys who will be making the contribution every game. That’s poor.
If I’m coaching this team and if I’m the owner and the GM I want to make sure these guys have their bodies in the best physical shape possible. All the players bodies should be at a point where they can go at peak performance and when the players come into the building first thing in the morning I’m going to make sure they have the proper nutrition to ensure that peak performance.
Otherwise, you’ve got a first round pick who’s standing on the sidelines during camp instead of going out there and doing his job every day like he should be.
I don’t understand how the team can let something like this happen.
Let me just put this out there. If Dysert plays well in tomorrow’s finale I would expect the Phins to put Moore out there for a trade and my guess is we get a 6th for him.
Agreed
I think everytime I see Moore play I feel like his play has declined
It might just be a matter of repetitions
but from a backup, you expect less repetitions and it should not hurt your play so much
I would not trust Moore to win 10 games
I’m okay trading him if the opportunity presents himself
If we lose Tanny, I don’t think we will be very good
even with Tanny I’m skeptical about winning 10 games
If we can get a draft pick for Moore, I say go for it and look to develop your younger qbs in a backup role
Plus – I think Lou mentioned it, Tanny has been pretty good at avoiding injury
He’s very tough
Some guys are just that kind of player
Any freak injury can happen, but so far Tanny has proven to be pretty durable
So I think taking a chance to develop young QB to be backups rather than clinging to a vet who hasn’t been spectacular is a good idea right now
That’s how I feel about Moore. In the PS over the last few years he hasn’t looked like a vet who’s ready to go and run the offense. He’s looked like a guy who’s nothing more than a backup and nothing special. I think we tend to overrate him. I was once in favor of his vet status over developmental QBs but I don’t feel that way anymore.
I give that an oink!
I don’t think having some hamstring issues makes Parker soft. Nor does having a foot injury in college that carried over into his rookie season. Guys get injuries in this game. We tend to act like only our players get injuries. LOL
I don’t think it makes him soft either and the team teaching him to take care of his body so he can avoid these types of issues is something they should have been doing all along. Maybe they assumed he knew better because he was now a pro but you know what happens when you assume.
I think they probably nipped it in the bud and like Gase said they’re teaching him to be a professional athlete now. That includes understanding how proper nutrition and hydration helps you avoid muscle spasms and cramps and things like hamstring issues.
with that said, I wouldn’t expect it to be an issue going forward
That’s what I meant. Look at how many of the WRs from Parker’s class haven’t played at all.
I know that’s what you meant. I can read your mind. OOOOOOHHH! lol
Buccaneers were in talks with Vikes to move Glennon. If that happens Moore to the Bucs would make sense because they’ve got little there with Griffin being the only backup remaining
Tampa Live liked your Tweet
1m: If Glennon is dealt to the Vikes, Moore to Tampa makes a lot of sense.
_____
see, even the people in Tampa like it
This is hilarious. LOL
OMG she’s a different kinda stupid.
I could picture this woman telling her friends and her friends saying, “ya know, you should really call in about this. it’s dangerous” and she has no idea they’re making fun of her.
I made this deer crossing joke in the mediocre white porcine Oddyssey last week
I think she is just being a smart ass
It’s an old joke
Oh yeah but it wasn’t with this woman was it?
Looking forward to seeing what Kenyan Drake can do, and hopefully, he can actually stay healthy and give us some quality snaps.
I give that a big oink too!!
Maybe we should move the “Fallen Rock Zone” signs away from roads so the rocks know not to fall on vehicles. LOL
Are they even going to get this game in tomorrow night with the weather hitting Florida?
Tampa’s game was moved to tonight
Its an old joke
I’m guilty of ripping it off myself
She is laughing at them laughing at her
Its a practical joke IMO
No Tim
it wasn’t
In mine it was the mediocre white suggesting to the city council that they move the signs to save deer lives
and the council did it
and deer deaths increased by 800% the next year
The thing with Matt Moore is that he’s not suited for this or any offense that we’ve had in the last few years. That’s why he hasn’t looked good.
That’s offensive
So Lou, you can see it in the way Moore plays in preseason? Wow
Playing with a horrible line, and WRs, like AJ Cruz, and no running game, right.
You mean the horrible line with Young, Urbik and John playing?
No he’s playing with DT3 and Turner.
I think Pig has the right idea on the deer crossing lady, no indication was made that she wasn’t all there. No one could be that stupid, without mental issues.
Then I get back to my office and read an email, and I’m retracting that no one can be that stupid😉
Moore is what he is…an average nfl backup. What you want from guys like that is the experience and good decision making ability not to lose games for you. If they go out and blow it up, great…but that’s not the benefit of a veteran QB who’s actually played in the NFL. They give NFL coaches some sense of security. They want a guy they can trust to play within themselves and the offense. Young/inexperienced guys are usually more of a risk.
****
Assessing Moore from his limited playing time over the past few years or PA action is pointless. All everybody ever focuses on are the INTs. Backups don’t get the practice time starters do, so they’re timing and everything else will take some time to normalize. How he plays in short notice/emergency situations isn’t going to be the same as how he plays if asked to come in and play multiple games b/c then he’ll get the reps in practice and improve…hopefully!
***
He’s hung on thru multiple coaching staffs. I assume there’s a reason for that. He must show them something they like on the practice field and in the classroom.
And I can’t believe I just wrote that much about our backup QB. Lol
Randy, there are a bunch of teams with vet starting QBs and young backups though. In the big scheme of things I’m not anti-Moore or anything but I wouldn’t be surprised if we went in another direction this year.
To me it’s not so much about Moore as it is about Dysert. He was brought in from CHI after being with Gase in his last two stints an he’s a younger qb option who’s been showing a good command of the offense and he’s moving the ball when he’s in there.
He did very well as the #2 vs Atlanta, running the ball and throwing accurately on the run.
I don’t see any drop off from Moore to Dysert at this point and with his experience playing in Gase’s offense I’d say he’s a shoe in.
If he were a qb brought into camp just to have a 4th guy to throw the ball around it would be a different story but I don’t think that’s the case.
Again, evaluating from preseason. Dysert has no experience.
Oh man there are reports that Bridgewater’s injury was so bad that he almost lost his leg. Ugh! I feel really bad for him. His road to recovery is going to be very difficult. Think of Dustin Keller, he never made it back.
That’s tough
Tim,
I’m not pro or con Moore. I’m just saying he must have some value…or he wouldn’t still be on the team. He’s not a guy you just gotta have on your team, but I do think you can win with him. Young QBs have more risk…simply because they’re more of an unknown commodity. I think coaches are usually more comfortable with the known.
You could argue Gase is more comforatble with Dysert then – this is their 4th season together.
This is what I’ve been saying for the better part of 3 wks now.
Has he ever been in a regular season game?
what does it matter? Tyrod Taylor threw 35 passes in 3 yrs with the Ravens in regular season games and he starts.
Not quite 4th season Tim.
That’s 35 more passes than Dysert has thrown.
Tim,
Yep, that’s true.

Saints add Paul Kruger for pass rush purposes. Chris McCain spot on that roster not so secure. Dolphins conditional pick also not.
That’s what I said earlier.
Worth the risk I guess
We trade him instead of cutting him
And if some one else keeps him we get a draft pick
Steve, guys have to play at some point for the first time. Dysert is in his 4th season. Look at how many teams are playing young QBs right out of the gate. I’m not sure it’s that big a deal.
Maybe not, but we’ve had enough bad seasons this decade, I don’t want to see another one, because we were enamored by a 7th Rd pick in 2017. What has Dysert done to make you think he’s ready to be 2nd string?
you’re talking like we’re going to have a bad season because of who our 2nd string qb is and it’s just silly. tannehill’s the starter. who cares is Dysert is the 2nd string qb? If Tannehill stays healthy all year we should have a good season. If not, we’re screwed no matter who the 2nd string guy is.
Dysert was a rookie in 2013, so behind Peyton we know he didn’t get any PT. 2014 Broncos PS, 2015 cut by Donkies, signed to Bears PS, for a week, then went to other teams PS. Hasn’t ever played, so Lou you sure have a funny way of backing your point
I like Dysert, but I’m not ready to see him in a real game yet, same with Doughty.
who said anything about him being in a real game. tannehill’s the starter.
I’m with Lou on the Dysert tip.
Gheesh! Tannehill started 16 games in college and we gave him the reigns. Wilson never started an NFL game and was drafted in the 3rd rd and Seahawks made him the starter. Luck never started an NFL game and started immediately.
We’re talking about a 2nd string qb and it’s like it’s the end of the world. LMFAO!!
Who brought up Chicken Little?
Gase was with Dysert for a week in Chicago and 2 years in Denver, do we know he’s not just doing a favor for a friend? I’ll bring you to camp and give you a shot. Dak has lit it up and they aren’t sure if he’ll be able to handle it when the bullets go live.
Do you think the Vikes are shitting bricks right now? Nobody wants to see their starter go down and there’s probably not a team out there who’s got a 2nd string guy who’s going to come in and do the same job their starter would do for them. Not happening.
We have one, and you want to throw it away for a late round pick. Jets had one last year, as did the Texans.
The Vikings are shitting bricks, the coach called off practice and cried for hours😃
I know one thing…
If I want to know how Steve feels about something, I will just assume it is the complete opposite of Lou’s..and vise versa..LOL
Yeah, I base my opinion on logic😉
Yes Tim guys have to play at some point, but we’ve been amongst the youngest teams in the league for far too long. Depth on D line has exp, so does the OL. We’ve been there done that with the young guys, let’s actually try to win some games this year.
To me, Dysert’s the better player at this time. Moore wasn’t drafted and got a chance to play when an injury happened in Carolina. Otherwise, he probably would have never started there either. Same thing with his time in Miami. Sooner or later you may need your backup to step in and play in the regular season. The fact that Moore got that playing time and Dysert didn’t is a moot point to me.
Dysert plays well in the next preseason game and shows the same command of the offense he showed vs Atlanta and Moore is probably gone. Maybe not. Maybe Phins would rather have the 3 qb depth on the roster other teams don’t have.
Lol QB experience doesn’t matter, and the fact that you brought up the fact that Moore wasn’t drafted, when Dysert was a 7th. 4th preseason games are fools gold when rating players.
I think I heard something about team records with backup QBs a year ago and it was a really bad winning pct. It came up in a discussion because the backup QB become fan favorites when their starters have a bad game or a couple of bad weeks. Very few teams are loaded at QB if any.
Loaded? Salary cap doesn’t allow it. Garapolo may be the best backup, but only because of their system and king cheat.
Steve, it’s not about what I think Dysert has done. I’m saying I won’t be surprised if Gase goes that way. It will be a team decision. 🙂
After so much talk about it I wouldn’t be surprised either way. Moore came back to play for us this year on the cheap, relative to what he was making, so it’s not like he’s that expensive. Last time I checked we were $18M under the cap. Moore always looks like crap, then he puts 21 pts like nothing.
I don’t see John making the team, because he plays LT, and we have 4 better ones on the starting OL, that will play it before he does. I thought he played well, it may be the wrong year for him, he probably makes last yrs team.
Lou,
Do you really think Tannehill’s going to become a difference maker…a guy who actually wins games for you and not just a guy who doesn’t lose them? Is this confidence just because of Gase? It would be a big change for him.
I’m just getting around to reading Gase’ comments about Parker. Wow, you rarely if ever see coaches doing that. I like it! Parker must be really pissing him off. Lol
I think its just motivational kind of stuff
piggy,
You rarely see coaches motivating players with those sorts of comments in the media. It’s surprising.
He’s a pretty straight shooter. He’s one of those guys who is who he is.

I can see us winning 10 games this year with Moore starting every game. Put him behind a good pass blocking line and he’s pretty good. RT has stats, great potential, but so far he’s missing the IT factor. When the game is on the line he doesn’t turn on that switch that says I can’t be stopped.

OMG steve, seriously? What, don’t ell me….you’re the deer crossing lady’s husband right? 😉
That was fake.
If you watched what Gase said about Parker it wasn’t that critical. More like he and his coaches need to do a better job dealing with him.
Media tries to spin it like it was critical….more like hey, you’re a Pro now, the protocol is different and if you don’t follow it, then these things happen….trust & stick by the program we set in place for you.
Word was he was skipping too many breakfasts and now hydrating correctly….so they’ve assigned him a nutritionist to monitor him more closely until he gets the pro regimine down.
If anything it shows the love for his value, hey we need you to do this so it shows up on game day as it did in practices and vise versa.
Yep! It’s okay for people to learn and get better, especially young people. The media tries to paint everything as a work habit issue etc. when that’s not really going on. He’s 23 years old. LOL
Hell, I’m still learning new things and ways to do them every year….why be stagnant?
Gase looks to be good for this team, I really like his demeanor for different situations. He seems like a cool as a cucumber cat….he could have a long future if he stays true to that.
GD, I think a lot of people feel that way about Gase but as we know, the W/L category decides his fate.
The Seattle game will tell us a little bit about where we’re at as a team to start. That’s a tough environment against a top team the last few years. We’ll see how we handle it.
Gase will get the Wins in due time….I see him as the type that players buy into….he’s already shown this in some ways on the coordinator level. Also seems other coaches buy into him, yet he’s been said to be flexible and buy into them, able to listen and draw a collaborative effort when needed. Those are great qualities and hard to master.
We’ll see…….
I don’t think it was extremely critical…just not the norm for NFL coaches.
Dallas being winless in 12 games with a backup quarterback may have skewed last years numbers for backups even though historically it is probably still bad. The rookie in Cincinnati did well.
I don’t think those 12 games are going to skew it much.
Sitting here in the sidewalk in a busy street of NYC
Waiting for cops to arrive
Bc I called them
There is homeless guy sleeping in the medium
How do you know he’s homeless? Could be a Phins fan coming from Slattery’s 😉
Rating the backup QBs
5. Dolphins
Depth chart: Matt Moore, Brandon Doughty
Is this too high? It might be. The closest Moore came to starting a game since 2011 (12 starts) was when Joe Philbin threatened to yank Ryan Tannehill against the Raiders in Oakland and insert his backup. Man, that feels so long ago. He’s 31 now and has served faithfully as the backup to Tannehill through five coaches now. Tony Sparano and Todd Bowles in 2011, Joe Philbin, Dan Campbell and now Adam Gase. He’s not going to magically become a late-blooming superstar, but he feels like a really safe floor for Miami if something happens to Tannehill.
Let’s throw all of that away for a late round pick. Wow! Doughty ahead of Dysert, that aint happening.
They brought in Dysert and drafted Doughty for a reason….they see something in them both, figuring one will rise up enough to make Moore expendable this season at some point.
OMG
LMAO @ Hildabeast beside herself with jealousy that Donald took the invite to Mexico that she declined and made himself look good on the world stage. Man, she’s spitting flames now….lol
She’s a real tool, makes everyone reconsider everything in our country.
Clinton Foundation Pay for Play Global Service.
Need weapons?
Need a neighboring country’s leader assassinated?
Send us a donation….smh!
Come sign up and you can stay, then once they come deport them.
Lol @ Trump Supporters
Sorry Fox, but you’re no longer the presidente!
LOL at Pig, what do you expect him to say?
I think you miss the point
Why would trump go to Mexico
You guys are celebrating it
It’s just trump theatrics – which is his thing
“Hey look at me, I met with the Mexican president. Hillary doesn’t meet with the Medan president”.
What did trump accomplish?
The current president insists he won’t pay for a wall
Was there even a discussion about it?
Wow, that’s what you took from it.
He is saying the first thing he told trump is he would not pay for a wall
In case you were wod wrong so I guess that was what was agreed to ?
LMAO ewww! That’s it, I’m joining the Hildabeast camp, you’ve swayed me.
Enrique Peña Nieto Calls Conversation With Donald Trump ‘Open and Constructive’
Yeah he Flat out told trump Mexico wouldn’t pay for a wall
I guess that’s feel pretty constructive to Mexico
But not to a candidate who has been telling America the opposite
Piggy, they talked about more that the wall. They talked about renegotiating NAFTA among other things that could be helpful to both countries. But let’s make it all negative shall we.
I don’t want you to join Clinton GDP
I want you to vote for Gary Johnson not a reality star passing himself off as a diplomat
I liked Gary Johnson last election in 2012, but since have saw him say and do things that signal he’s another establishment hack hiding under the libertarian label. I rather another true libertarian candidate.
Trump is not a true libertarian by any stretch of the imagination
He is not a small govt cut spending guy which is pretty much the core of libertarian principles
We wouldn’t be talking about erecting a wall if he was that guy
It’s amazing to me that yo can call a 3rd party candidate the “establishment” given what 3rd party’s are up against
But I won’t even touch that one of you feel that way
I never said I think Trump is a classic libertarian….but he’s demonstrated many ‘anti-establishment’ ways that has the elites freaking out….that’s what I want….even if the guy has orange hair and look like howdy doody after being beat silly by bozo the clown.
….and yes, generally a 3rd party candidate is anti-establishment, but Gary seems as if a few have gotten to him and drew him into their circle in a subtle way….ie., he said he would vote for TPP for starters….
Mexico City-based security analyst Alejandro Hope suggested that Pena Nieto “wanted to invite Hillary, but that meant inviting both of them, and nobody thought Trump would accept first.”
Tom Lady’s new doo….LMAO
His mommy is so proud 😜
He’s made a few bad hair choices over the years IMO. I really shouldn’t criticize over that, I had my 80’s big hair. lol
Bet you looked Farrah good! 😉
Yeah, the more I think about it the more I really feel that the plan from the start was to bring in Dysert to compete with Moore and if he did well enough they’d be looking to replace Moore. Dysert’s younger and has more upside at this point and doesn’t cost as much.
Doughty is a developmental guy that has a lot of upside as well and is another young player who the team can groom into a solid backup.
I don’t know if Moore will be traded or cut but I doubt he’s here for the entire season.
On behalf of the band, I thank you and hope we passed the audition.
Two words to end the argument for having a backup quarterback with regular season experience:
JOSH FREEMAN
Way to go to the extreme, I could say the same thing about a rookie and mention Marinovich. It proves nothing, why do you think they take out the top and bottom scores in the Olympics?
We need help on defense that a trade for Moore could provide.
I don’t see it as a player for player trade
Probably a draft pick
But if they managed to move Moore for a CB, I won’t squeal
