of course we said this last year, but, the team will be forced to hedge their bets by drafting another QB to compete IMO.
Waiting around a few years to see if a player can recover years after an injury isn’t an option for a team in the NFL.
Teams are expected to win today, next week, and so on, no one has the luxury of waiting around for years hoping an injured player can come back.
I hope he can comeback, but if he can’t, the team must be prepared to move forward with some talent at the QB position.
Moore arm is too weak imo, fundamentally sound guy, but no zip or velocity like real NFL QB,s have.
We likely won’t make the playoffs this year because we didn’t bring in a QB, and were forced to go with weak armed Moore, and an old retired Cutler.
Both have done ok at times, stunk at others, but neither can ever be great, ever.
Lou, I agree with you on many players for this upcoming draft but I am with Tim and some others on Tannyhill. I was really excited with him coming into year 2 under Gase. Not because I think he is or will become elite but I think he can lead this team into the playoffs with an improved OL and addition of a play making TE (who can also block). Cutler has made some plays in the pocket that Tannyhill probably wouldn’t. Culter has left some plays on the field on third downs where I know Tannyhill would have made with his legs where Cutler decided to throw. Damn, got busy at work and forgot what else I was going to say. LOL
of the upcoming last 3 games to “win out”… I think today’s game is the toughest!

Chiefs at KC is going to be a really tough game. They have lots of weapons on O and a very hostile environment with weather just as volatile as that in Buffalo

Marino played the following season after a horrible Achilles rupture.
The next year, first game, . He could barely move in the pocket, but the first game coming back, but tossed over 400 yards and 4-5 TD, against the cheats, and never let the team down by not playing year after year.
I know not everyone can throw it like Marino, but we need to draft a young QB that can play after being nicked or injured.
Mental and physical toughness is not part of RT, MM, or JC game, they get a little bump on the knee and have to go out all the time.
Marino played 17 seasons through 8 knee surgeries, ruptured Achilles, and various other bumps and bruises, and only games he missed were from the ruptured Achilles.
We need tougher QB, like Marino was .
This was Tannehill’s first injury that kept him out of games.
he went on IR in 2016, and missed 2017 too, even though he was supposed to play this season. Not acceptable, no excuses imo.
We need QB that are tougher mentally and physically, like Marino was.
What if RT says in 2018, dang, still can’t play? 2019, can’t play? No one knows, til it’s too late to draft one, like he did to us this year.
Ok, he can’t play, or doesn’t know when he can,
nothing we can do but draft tougher QB because it’s next man up when the previous guy can’t perform.
