Since many Dolphins fans seem super concerned with the depth we currently have at the running back position, and since FA precedes the draft, let’s take a look at who is available that can help our team, and make it less urgent to have to draft 1 or 2. Right now we have Kenyan Drake and whatever. No offense to Senorise Perry or De’Veon Smith, but neither of those are likely to be on a 46 man roster on game day next season, unless we have injuries. I think we can all pretty much agree that Adam Gase runs at minimum a 2 back system, and I’d even say he would like 3 backs he can count on.
In Denver as the OC in 2013, he used the trio of Knowshon Moreno, Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman, basically to 2:1 ratio down the line. Moreno had 241 carries, Ball had 120, and Hillman had 55 carries. The following season, it was C.J. Anderson who was the lead back with 179 carries, then Ronnie Hillman with 106 and Montee Ball with 55. Not quite a 2:1 ratio, but close enough that you know who the featured back is.
In 2015, Gase went to Chicago as OC for the Bears. A similar pattern existed there, with Matt Forte getting the majority of the carries, 218, and then Jeremy Langford a closer 2nd with 148, and then Ka’Deem Carey with 43 rushing attempts. While the top 2 backs shared a little more evenly, it’s obvious who the feature back is, and regardless of how good the 2 backs are, he still likes to use a 3rd back.
As HC with the Dolphins, Gase leaned heavily on his newfound success story, 2015 5th RD draft pick. To be fair, Arian Foster went down early in the season, and Gase was kind of pushed into going with Ajayi. Drake had always been a complimentary back at Alabama. His Freshman season, he was 3rd on the depth chart behind Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon. In 2013, Drake was a distant 2nd to T.J. Yeldon, but far ahead of Derrick Henry. In 2014, due to injuries, it was Yeldon and Henry. In ’15 for Alabama, it was the Derrick Henry show, with a drop of Kenyan Drake sprinkled in, Henry carried 395 times, Drake has a meager 77 carries. In fact, the most carries Drake ever had in college was 92. On the other hand, Ajayi was a workhorse at Boise St. and the only reason he was there for MIA in the 5th RD in 2015 was due to concern on deteriorating knee issues.
So now that I’ve made it clear Gase has never relied solely on one feature running back, and prefers to spread carries around, who’s out there for us? For sake of reason, I’m not including any of the ridiculous salaried players like Le’Veon Bell, but more reasonable alternatives.
Dion Lewis 5’8 195 27YO
Forget that Lewis was a NE Patriot, he’d be a good fit for what we like here. He’s a very good receiver out of the backfield, and he would be a good 2nd option for Drake. He proved he could carry the ball when the pats were beset with injuries to Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead and James White, accounting for over 150 multipurpose yards in game 15, and over 130 in the final game. Lewis finished the season with 180 rushes and 896 yards and 6 rushing TD’s. He also caught 32 passes for 214 yards and 3 TD’s, giving him 9 total TD’s. Picking up Lewis also takes a player away from NE, and while we know they will replace him, it still stings for a moment. Oh, and Lewis was born in Brooklyn, he’s my goombah, hey fuggetaboutit! Spotrac says $5M per for Lewis
************************************************************************************
Damien Williams 5’11 211 25YO
We all know Damien Williams, he’s a known quantity, playing here in MIA for the last 4 years. We also know Adam Gase likes Damien Williams, and that Damien Williams likes Adam Gase. Regardless of those things, Williams has never had more than 70 touches in a season, last year was his largest total, 46 rushes and 20 receptions. He can also return kicks and punts, and he’s a solid ST’s player, but he’s never been a big part of the offense. That should keep his salary down, which makes him affordable to everyone, and it’s possible if a team was willing to give him an opportunity for playing time, he might take it. My guess is, Damien will come back to MIA as long as we’re fair to him. Even if we do bring Williams back, is anyone here confident going into the draft with just Drake and Williams? Will we still need to spend a 2nd-4th RD pick on a RB? Maybe a 4th, but I believe we won’t need to go any higher.
***********************************************************************************
Terrance West 5’10 225 27YO
West had a disappointing 2017 season with injuries, none major, but nonetheless was irrelevant to the Ravens, while Alex Collins had a coming out party. in 2016, West was the Ravens leading rusher with 774 yards on 193 carries and 5 TD’s. West also added 34 receptions for 236 yards and 1 TD. West feel out of favor with a nagging calf injury last season, which should lower his value for FA. He’s more of the bowling ball type that some here desire, more of a banger between the tackles, more of a thunder to Drake’s lightning.
************************************************************************************
Alfred Morris 5’9 219 29YO
Morris has been the feature back in the past, so when looking at a back to add to your stable, he’s the one guy you can count on to step up and take over as the lead back if necessary. Undrafted out of FAU, Morris was signed by the Redskins in 2012, and had his most impressive season in the NFL. Morris carried 335 times for 1613 yards and 13 TD’s. The thing is, he’s steadily declined since 2012, going to down to a very respectable 1275 yards rushing in ’13, then 1074 yards, then 751 yards, then out of the picture on the Ezekiel Elliott led Cowboys. It’s obvious why Morris has been relegated to watching football from the bench with Ezekiel Elliot as the feature back. The good thing for Morris is he probably has fresh legs after 2 quiet seasons in Dallas, after 4 grueling seasons in Washington. Morris is a scrapper, another wrecking ball that can run in between the tackles. Morris’ last contract with the Cowboys was a 2YR/$3.5M contract. Despite Morris being 29, like I mentioned, he should have fresh legs, so I’d definitely consider Morris. He might make some forget that Ajayi guy.
*************************************************************************************
Orleans Darkwa 6’0 210 26YO
Another guy Dolphins fan know. Some of us were sorry to see him go, and Darkwa finally got his chance last with the new York Giants last season. Darkwa carried 171 times for 751 yards and 5 TD’s. This was by far his biggest workload, more than quadrupling and other season. Things worked out well for Darkwa last year, the Giants were in a shambles, injuries to Paul Perkins gave him his shot, and he made the most of it, on what was an awful season for the Jints. He should be affordable, despite his breakout season last year, and he proved he can be counted on for significant carries if necessary.
**************************************************************************************
Jerick McKinnon 5’9 205 25YO
Last, but most definitely NOT least, is Jerick McKinnon. I think McKinnon would be a perfect fit for how we use RB’s, but I do believe McKinnon would like to finally be the feature back, after a couple of years of toiling behind Adrian Peterson, and then last year, initially buried behind by rookie sensation Dalvin Cook and then FA pickup Latavius Murray. McKinnon is a very shifty, quick RB with excellent receiving skills. Last season, McKinnon showed that dual threat ability, rushing 150 times for 570 yards and 3 TD’s, along with 51 receptions for 421 yards and 2 TD’s. Spotrac has McKinnon slated for $4M per year, which is doable. The question is, will he come to MIA without being given a chance to be the starter? I’d feel pretty good with McKinnon in tow before the draft, probably as much with him as Alfred Morris or Dion Lewis. It would definitely push RB back down in priority in a deep draft at RB.
**************************************************************************************
There are other free agents besides Le’Veon Bell that I don’t believe we can be in the running for, nor should we be such as Carlos Hyde and Isaiah Crowell. I think their salaries will be prohibitive for signing here. Other notable free agent RB’s are LeGarrette Blount, Jamal Charles, C.J. Spiller, Darren Sproles, and Eddie Lacy, all whom are either too old, or just don’t fit. Any suggestions, let me hear it!
PS: I also have a mentally handicapped son, a kid who as a baby was given a dirty shot of the pertussis vaccine and has ever since been unsuccessfully battling autism and cerebral palsy with the heart of a lion. I take him horseback riding every Saturday morning, as MF can attest to. So maybe I’m just a little too upset by all this school violence, since he will never be able to defend himself, and i cannot be with him 24/7 to protect him.
I RESPECT you, my friend. Again, it’s alright to disagree on things.
Big Pharma wrecked his life to make a few thousand bucks.

I didn’t say prevent the existence of the organization; i said prevent them from buying any guns so they can carry out their violent intentions.

I hear you.
I knew that what you mean and I appreciate you taking a shot at it (was that a tasteless pun?)
But the same idea would apply
If the govt discourages people from associating in organizations it can be deemed a 1st amendment infringement
It’s defiantly a layered problem to address in general
I agree with a lot of points you have made so don’t let my nitpicking get you down
Naples I’m confused?
I know I’ve posted this around 3 times.
I’m trying to find a solution to the issue but for some reason you have the idea that I’m stuck to my guns? (Pun very much intended)

I told you earlier
I’d be ok with a more stringent background check!
You lawyers will have to fight the Insurance and medical to get them to pony up any pertinent information!
I really want heavier fines and sentences for any gun violations!
You won’t get a fight from the NRA to do that by the way!
________________________________________________________
I really want to highlight the last one because NOBODY seems to like it?
And to me making it VERY, VERY not worth your while might deter some???????????
You mean you won’t get a fight from the nra about the fines right?
Bc they definitely fight the background checks
Nobody in the NRA wants guns in the news at all so keeping criminals that break gun laws locked up is a good thing!
I see what you are saying
I guess it doesn’t surprise me that the NRA wasn’t to be “tough in crime”
I see what you mean and agree… if we could just take it a little farther and say you good people can keep your guns, but let’s dry up the supply a bit of new guns and ammo and mag size because surely we have overstepped the saturation point here. Just throttle down the pipeline a bit so there’s not a thousand gun shows every weekend pouring ever more lethal weaponry into the hands of teens so that kids playing Mortal Kombat can grab one and imitate their POV shooter Grand Theft Auto and Kill the F’n Cop games.
PS: I am working VERY hard against cell phone use by drivers of cars.
^
I hear ya, man!
Next time I resist the urge to read this blog while driving, I will thank you!
😝
Have an employee working on the the final stages of an app for shutting phone down while driving. I’ve tested it and works pretty good. Can be put on phone and parents/other person has control turning it on and off.
I can tell you that my days of walking the mail, I’d play a game counting consecutive cars with drivers looking at their phones. My record was 10. That is scary…..
I agree with the Video games and cell phones!
Of course I was called an insensitive bastard because my son never owned a game that you could shoot a police officer in!
There’s not a whole lot of texting or blogging on the FLIP PHONE I use!
I refuse to text!!!!!!!!!!
But most of that is the responsibility of the PARENTS!
I’m not going there because I will hurt a lot of feelings!
Oh and btw
Fuck you Phish.
Calling me names does not make you look tough.
M13, you made my point in your response. The NSA and what intel they’re gathering on us. I look at it from a technology evolution standpoint. You fear it. To me I see it as our nature like it or not. The world is never going to revolve and evolve around your ideology. I respect your views and values, but that is not the growing ideology, like it or not. Walker, you and I had these discussions all the time. You both looked at it as a threat. I looked at it from an evolution perspective. Doesn’t mean I like all of it. There are lots of things I don’t like that I can’t control. This is our life as we know it. It could be much worse. Be happy you were born in America.
On another note, most of you know of my family’s young cousin Sam who died from injuries suffered in a freestyle ski accident while training a couple of years ago at the age of 16. There was a very good chance if that did not happen, we’d be watching him right now in the Olympics. His friend is competing, his name is Alex Hall. They trained together. It’s a bittersweet moment for us all. Rooting for his friend and wishing he was here/there. His spirit is there for sure. 🙂
RIP, Sam 😦
#FlySamFly
I’m pulling for Alex Hall now!!!
🙂
That sucks Tim!
Lost a good friend to cancer today! she will be missed!
👍
Sorry for your loss.

Big Pharma wrecked his life to make a few thousand bucks.
———-
That’s a totally different convo, but I’m 100% with you on that regarding Big Pharma. If ya didn’t already know, PA leads the nation in this rampant and TERRIBLE drug problem, at least in terms of death-rate.
Just last year, a Pittsburgh morgue had to shut down new ‘incomers’ because they couldn’t process the dead bodies from meth and the like quickly enough. We have a state representative named Tom Marino, who has been found to be complicit in allowing doctors (via Big Pharma) to hand out heavy pain-killers like candy to patients. He’s in DEEP $#!T, and well deserved.
I HEAR YOU, my man, regarding this Big Pharma BS that has been ONGOING… all in the name of profits. It’s deeply saddening to me. 😦
God bless you and your son.
ER
That sounds great! But I’d have to get my son to download or upload it which would probably defeat the propose?
Yeah….there will always be a catch…..
It’s more aimed for the ones that parents pay their phones cause they live at home still. Lol.
I was thinking I needed it for my wife! 😦
You can make the background check whatever you want it doesn’t effect me!
I could qualify for any I wished to get!
Now if you were to have a background on alcohol that would be a different story!
I do have a PI on my record!
That’s kind of my thing with background checks
Why does anyone really care?
The vast majority of Americans get through it
I guess it’s a privacy thing
But it’s minor incovience IMO for the greater good
Wyo
Same. When he gets it done, it’s going on her phone that same day!
The truth of the background check is once you go through it once it only takes about 10 minutes to check your data since the last one!
Well maybe it’s just me and I buy to many guns??????
Yep. Takes about 15-20 minutes for me.
We all know illegal shit goes on all the time. Criminals break the law. You try to weed it out. Nothing is perfect.
Why are guns not treated like driving and vehicles with a license, registration and insurance? Can’t use your cell while driving, not wear your seatbelt or have kids of a certain age not strapped in. Yet I can buy a weapon that can fire off many rounds quickly without any of this?
All I will say is there are more rules and laws than you think exist by the conversations on this board!
Your right it’s not the wild west out there!
There are laws on how you transport, were and when you can fire it.
In most states you need a hunting license to carry a rifle in the field.
To get a license you need a hunters safety card. that you have to take a state sponsored class to get.
Don’t even get me started on all the hunting regulations!
Oh and for what it’s worth membership to the NRA comes with insurance for your arms, and help with any legal issues that may arise!
So at the least the gunman’s insurance should pay restitution for the victims? Not that it brings back lives, but something.
Don’t know?
He didn’t sound like a guy who would pay dues to the NRA
And I would say it would be more likely to pay for any Porcine representation you would need defending yourself against charges
And I don’t think the NRA would defend any mass shooter or criminal shooter.
Mostly in wrongful death cases or if there is a question of self defense?
No words could ever describe Sam. He was the nicest, brightest, and most loving kid one could ever ask for. Every second I got to spend with him was a true blessing and there never was a moment when I didn’t love to hang out with him. You’re energy changed my life and the way I view things forever and you will never ever ever be forgotten by me or anyone that ever met you. Keep sending it up there for us and remember to keep smiling and stay crazy. You will always be in our hearts wherever we may go. Ski In Peace Sammy J you are a true legend! I love you. #legendsneverdie #myherosam #lightforsam #sip #alwaysinmyheart

Wyo, that’s what I’m saying. People have to be certified to operate many types of machinery and dangerous equipment.
It doesn’t matter anyway, GPS drones will rule the skies soon enough. Remember the movie “Goodfellas’? Ray Liotta’s character Henry Hill being hounded by helicopters during his drug trade? That will be more common with smaller less detectable devises. Like it or not, it’s coming just like everything else over the years. Not sure why anyone doesn’t see this coming as a natural evolution of human ingenuity.
It’s gone anyway
My son never had interest in the outdoors!
Generations of wood lore gone now.
Let the world crumble in there concrete jungle!!!!!!!!
I’m just going to slip off into the sunset!
I hear you, man. I was never a city person, grew up suburban with a love for the outdoors and the country. I get it! I have family and friends who live all of it. Our life is not everyone else’s, we need to get over that.
But public safety in a civilized nation is also important regardless of your world view. This goes for all of us.
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 11: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame (A)
Round 2 Pick 10: Derrius Guice, RB, LSU (A-)
Round 3 Pick 9: Mark Andrews, TE, Oklahoma (A+)
Round 4 Pick 11: Tyquan Lewis, DE, Ohio State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 30: Dorian ODaniel, OLB, Clemson (A-)
Round 6 Pick 9: Kurt Benkert, QB, Virginia (A)
Round 7 Pick 5: Dimitri Flowers, FB, Oklahoma (A+)
Round 7 Pick 11: Van Smith, SS, Clemson (A+)
This is a perfect draft.
Can you send this to Tannenbaum with a memo “Do this.”?
I do like this one as well. Send it in! Though I am starting to lean toward TE Hurst over Andrews. He is Gronk/Kelce like with the ball in his hands. He looks like a 6’4″ 250 lb RB with the ball in his hands.
Here’s a WORST CASE scenario for me…
1) Quenton Nelson goes in the top-10
2) Billy Price is likely going in the 1st round, likely to the Bills at either pick 21 or 22
3) Frank Ragnow goes in the 2nd round, after we select a TE
So we enter the 3rd round without having addressed our O-Line, and the pickings are getting all the slimmer for a quality, day 1 starter. Maybe a Will Clapp or a Mason Cole is still on the board, but we bypass them for a prospect that is rated higher on our board (say, a WR or a QB).
So we enter the 4th round without having addressed our O-Line, and so on and so on. Then we hop back into FA, trying to sign a quality backup (because that’s all that’s left in FA) that could vie to become a starter (see Ted Larsen last year). That would KILL us… again!
Solution…
Perhaps we should be proactive in procuring one of our Guard positions by paying young Andrew Norwell via FA. That could really open up our early options in the Draft for playmakers. But in order to do this (AND to re-sign Jarvis Landry), we’re going to have to free-up some cap space. And we’ll likely have to take out another loan from the ‘Bank of $uh’.
Honestly, I think that may be our best strategy at the moment. This would also allow us to pursue a QB early in the Draft without using that pick on an O-Lineman.
The other solution would be to trade down from R1P11 (securing another selection… likely a 3rd rounder), and take Billy Price in the mid-1st round where we trade down to. That would probably give us enough picks to address our vital needs on days 1 and 2.
I wouldn’t make the trade unless we pick up a second!
You take Price or Winn with the late first!
Best RB, TE, OLB available with the next 2
If you kick OLB to the third You may still get your cover LB but he will have warts?
Good RB’s will be there in the 3rd
So one of the second is a TE
JMHO
I agree Wyoming. I think we should take Goedert or Hurst in the second. Those are my top two TE. Hurst may be considered a reach where we pick in the 2nd but I don’t care. I really would like to see one of those two in a Phins uni. I’m still thinking RB in 4th or later.
Phelon, thanks for clarifying the issue of gun registration for me yesterday. That peperwork was what I was referring to. I know all my guns are legal and have been in every state I have lived in. Some I am sure have no paper trail at all cause 8 of them have been passed down from grandfather to father to me, so they were originally purchased anywhere from 30 to 60 years ago.
I can’t wait to see Olasunkanmi Adeniyi at the Combine. Currently projected to go in the 5th round, he registered 20 tackles for loss last season from the DE position. This kid is NICE and is now another one of my dark horses.
M13 above post, I think it really depends (like you said) on the Cousins sweepstakes. If he goes to a team in the top 10 picks, a QB may slip to where the Bills will want to trade up for one. TBH, there are some good OL prospects in the later rounds, but maybe not plug and play guys though. There are 2 OL from NCState who are not being talked about and not sure why. NCState had a very good OL this year in running the ball and pass pro. One, I believe, has never given up a sack in his college career and another had only given up one in his college career. I believe one is an OT and the other OG. I posted about them a couple months ago. You never know, they could end up being an Andrew Norwell.
CAN’T WAIT to see where Cousins ends up!!! The anticipation is killing me, I tell ya!!!
Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, NICE!! Thanks, he is quick and stout. He plays like a FOOTBALL PLAYER if you know what I mean. I like the way he always going for the strip or pulling at the ball while still making a sure tackle like he has perfected his ability in doing that.
Yeah, man! He looks VERY good. I’d assume that he’s projected to go in the 5th due to coming from Toledo. A killer Combine could really inflate his stock.
What is up FUers? Getting nervous for my surgery but going to see Black Panther with my boys to take my mind off things
My prayers are with ya, buddy. Enjoy the movie and keep your mind off of negative things… you’ve got this!
Wishing everything goes well Ken and you’re back to your normal life soon.
Thanks Tim
What day does FA start?
March 14th
Thank you. I don’t expect us to make major moves in FA this season but I will have some time on my hands to keep track of it this year
Hey Hulk – Sounds like a great day and great idea! Enjoy the movie, and prayers that everything goes the way it should for you.
Thanks Mike E and M13

Like all of them as well.
Take it easy today Ken
no tearing down the movie theater!
Best of luck tomorrow!!!
Sorry, my homerism is getting me today and got to post this video again. The reason I like Hurst over Andrews, Fumagalli and Gesicki, is they are good big receiving TE’s but Hurst is more of a GIANT RB with great hands (6’5″ 250 lbs.), he is dangerous after the catch, can move and make jump cuts like a RB. He plays hard and likes to punish the D. Has a great attitude and will do what ever it takes to win.
Line him and Grey up in the backfield on short yardage situations.
Flowers not Grey!
Grey has done a nice job in short yardage. He’s good role player for us. We don’t need Hurst in the backfield. I’d have him running seam routes all day.
Impressive! Dude can catch, runs really well and plays physical.
There’s something about Hayden Hurst that I can’t quite put my finger on. He seems to get wide open, but he doesn’t seem to be very fast. Blown coverages? And why aren’t DBs catching up to him down from behind… they are nowhere to be found. Are they sluggish? Seems to me that Hurst is running at roughly a 4.9 speed on the field after the catch. Something isn’t jiving with my eyes. I’ve got to see his tape, preferably ‘all-22’.
I’m not saying this as a knock on Hurst (perhaps the knock is on me), but it doesn’t add up to me. That said… he’s CLEARLY a very NICE TE! Nice hands, nice routes (I’m assuming, here), nice size, punishes after the catch (NICE!), agile with the ball in his hands, and he makes plays.
I wish he had more production as a Gamecock (3 career receiving TDs), but he’s a player with significant upside. In short, I LIKE Hurst!
Ya know… I think it just hit me: Hurst is a very short-strided runner. He takes like a hundred steps over a mere 10 yards. VERY odd for a 6’5″, 250 player. You’d expect more of a long-strider than a short-strider. But that also explains why he’s so good during and through contact, making it difficult to bring him down.
Not a knock, just an observation.
For the record, Hurst is a 4.83 runner. I wasn’t too far off in my observation.
He looks real fast to me. He’s been timed in the low 4.6s. One of the negatives about him is he’ll be 25 in the next NFL season so physically this is who he is. But that doesn’t mean he can’t improve as a football player.
EXACTLY on he can improve as a football player, as in, ALL prospects can improve as football players. That’s where NFL coaching comes into play.
Meaning he’s probably physically maxed out at 24/25 years old as opposed to younger prospects who can still get a little bigger and stronger. That’s what I read from some scouting reports on him.
M13, I got ya. I think he will be sub 4.8 but he is not Kelce or Gronk speed. I just love the way he plays. I look at the way he plays on the field like Landry. Landry is on the slow side for a WR but the way he plays on the field makes up for that and then some.
AGREED! He’s a damn good prospect!
He looks faster than Gronk to me and the same as Kelce.
“South Carolina TE Hayden Hurst has come up several times in my discussions with NFL scouts during the fall. After studying his tape this week, it’s easy to understand why so many evaluators have big grades on him. He has outstanding size (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) and speed (he’s been timed in the low 4.6s in the 40-yard dash).”
https://247sports.com/college/south-carolina/Article/South-Carolina-Gamecocks-tight-end-Hayden-Hurst-and-NFL-Draft-projections-111920759
There aren’t any burners at the TE position really this draft. Ian Thomas is the only one projected to possibly run a sub 4.7 40. Gesicki may be the next fastest but there is not much of a difference as of right now. The rest of the best are all projected to run within 0.06 of a second within each other. Maybe the combine will show different.
Tim, I had not seen that. Thanks! I will be glued to watching the combine on a lot of players this year for sure.
I have been going by The Sports Xchange – NFL Draft Scout.
Here are some highlights of Ian Thomas…
I think he’s he type of guy that can make a good TE #2 in the draft if we are inclined to draft 2 TEs
Is this the guy Lou likes?
No, Akins from UCF
Yes only one way. LOL
I don’t think any of the QBs in this draft scream special.
One doesn’t scream it but he’ll bark it right in your face
Also in this article the guy says we passed on Rodgers for Ronnie Brown. Well 23 teams messed up passing on Rodgers. I’m sure some teams already had a QB but still many teams passed on him including SF who took Alex Smith #1 overall.
So let’s say we don’t draft OL, QB or LB 1st rd, what other prospects would you like us to land?
No LB in first is the kicker for me. No fav’s outside of LB and OL as far as what we need.
DE Bradley Chubb
RB Saquan Barkley
DE Harold Landry
SS/FS Minkah Fitzpatrick
When you look at the big boards it would seem there’s a few OTs, DBs and maybe a DE like Harold Landry or Marcus Davenport. I know Piggy would scream Guice and I guess that’s possible. But I also see a possible trade down scenario if the guys we have top grades on are gone. It gets a bit muddled right about where we are at #11 and on. If the QBs, Nelson, Smith and Edmunds as well as the other top ranked prospects you mentioned are gone, trading down might make sense.
Do you think Landry is a 1st rd guy? Both he and Davenport seem to be late 1st early 2nd rd. guys.
RB…lol
Also it’s not scream Guice
It’s squeal it
Ideally after a trade down where we pick up a TE or an OL
Minkah Fitzpatrick is a very good possibility with all the nickel and dime teams play. He is a guy who can play multiple spots in the secondary for matchups and has shown big play ability and playing big in big games. Oh yeah and he really loves football and like most GMs Grier loves guys who love football. This kid reportedly is all about football. He wouldn’t only make our secondary quite deep, but he’d probably make it much better.
There are enough prospects that one that would be a good fit for us should be there. So maybe a trade down isn’t such a good option. I see more than 10 options so take the best player on your board.
Black Panther was really good. If you like super hero movies you will like that one
I saw a guy ranking marvel movies today (marvel studios doesn’t include X-men or some of the earlier stuff) and he had Black Panther #2
People say it’s aeesome
Guess what his 1 was
Winter Soldier?
Yes Winter Soldier was 1
Honestly wasn’t my favorite
“Ideally after a trade down where we pick up a TE or an OL”
Not sure what you’re saying here? I thought you said Guice after a trade down, what do you mean TE or OL?
I mean with the additional pick
I just did a trade down with Buffalo and and took their 2 first rounders
But I didn’t take OL it TE I took Guice and Edmunds somehow fell to 22
Tnghenni went OL, QB and 2 TEs
Don’t think Edmunds will fall that far, he has the most upside of all the LBs. But I would be okay with Guice and Landry or Davenport. Always look to add pass rushers when you can.
I really don’t want to draft a DE unless we do it early and draft a LB as well
I think it’s important to add pass rushers too
If we do that I want to see the team have another defensive draft
Round 1 Pick 21 (BUF): Derrius Guice, RB, LSU (B-)
Round 1 Pick 22 (BUF): Tremaine Edmunds, OLB, Virginia Tech (B+)
Round 2 Pick 10: Will Hernandez, OG, Texas-El Paso (B+)
Round 3 Pick 9: Luke Falk, QB, Washington State (B+)
Round 4 Pick 11: Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 30: Troy Fumagalli, TE, Wisconsin (A-)
Round 6 Pick 9: Bradley Bozeman, C, Alabama (C)
Round 7 Pick 5: Dimitri Flowers, FB, Oklahoma (A+)
Round 7 Pick 11: Nick Gates, OG, Nebraska (A+)
We’re getting two 1’s for #11?
The 21 and the 22
I don’t know that doesn’t sound crazy to me
That would shock me but I would sign up for that once we’re at #11 and we have a lot of prospects with similar grades.
It’s buffalo
So the division trade is the problem
But Buffalo is rumored to be trying to trade up to get a qb
I’m guessing they will want to move into the top 5 and they might be able to with 21 and 22
That’s what I’m saying. It will cost them more than that for top 5 though.
Tim, for me, if Nelson, Barkley and Chubb are gone, I will try to trade down.
So those 3 + say 4 QBs is 7. You don’t see 4 others you would take at #11?
Piggy, I don’t want to force anything on defense in the draft because I think they can suit up and be competitive as they are. The offense has to get better in TOP and points on the board. If that doesn’t happen I don’t care how good the defense is, we’re not going far.
I mean if we went LB and DE on the first 2 picks
This picks could have been used on OL, TE, QB and RB
But with Harris, McMillan, Howard, Tankersly, Rook 1
And Rook we would have a pretty good young group to go along with Suh and Jones
We would have a shot at being very good on defense
So I wouldn’t be upset
I’m just thinking I prefer an offensive draft
As for trading with Buffalo, yeah you really don’t want to give them a chance at their QB that you have to compete against twice every year and for the division. That will haunt you for a long time.
But if the QB ends up being a bust -SUCCESS!!!
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 11: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame (A)
Round 2 Pick 10: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State (A)
Round 3 Pick 9: Frank Ragnow, C/OG, Arkansas (B)
Round 4 Pick 11: Lorenzo Carter, OLB, Georgia (A+)
Round 4 Pick 30: Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, DE/OLB, Toledo (B)
Round 6 Pick 9: Riley Ferguson, QB, Memphis (A)
Round 7 Pick 5: Deadrin Senat, DT, South Florida (A+)
Round 7 Pick 11: Dimitri Flowers, FB, Oklahoma (A+)
There’s so many overblown reviews for black panther right now its tough to trust them, especially when slightly negative criticism is being accused with racism.
Personally I hated Wonder Woman and that received a lo of great reviews too
But Black Panther looks cool
Piggy, we have 8 picks and if it stays like that I think 5-3 offense minimum.
I thought Black Panther was very good. It’s not in my top 5 Marvel superhero movies, but still damn good. It’s visually stunning, funny, and the women of Wakanda kick ass!!!
The visuals were fantastic and yes I want a detail of Wakandian women bodyguards
I think my favorite is Guardians of the Galaxy
I also liked Civil War and the first Capt America
I actually liked the first Hulk too (Ang Lee) and everyone hates that one
I didn;t really like the Thor movies but I like him in the Avengers movies
Yea, I would put Black Panther in my second tier of Marvel movies, along with Doctor Strange, Guardians 2, the first Captain America, Ant-man, Thor 3.
My top 5 would be Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy, the first Avengers, Iron Man, and Winter Soldier.
I also really liked Spider-Man homecoming which was co-produced with Columbia Marvel, and distributed by Sony.
I’ve always liked Iron Man, and I thought the movies were pretty good. I also liked The X-Men movies. Captain America was very good, no offense to Ken, but I thought the Hulk movies were just eh. I also liked Thor.
IMO, you really can’t go wrong with the MCU. …but I’m a fanboy. Lol.
Also, Star Wars- OT (episodes 4,5,&6)
I don’t even think of Guardians of the Galaxy as Marvel, even though it is. I haven’t seen Wonder Woman yet, or Black Panther. Gotta catch up
I really liked Wonder Women too. I thought Wonder Women, Nolan’s Batman Trilogy, Micheal Keaton’s 2 Batmans, and Christopher Reeve’s first 2 Supermans are the best DC has to offer. The rest of the DC movies not so good.
I’m amazed at the audience for super hero movies. LOL
Not to be a dark cloud, I just don’t get it anymore. You can make them do anything unrealistic, so to me like a joke, there has to be some truth to it.
I feel the same way regarding “superhero movies”… I just can’t get into them.
But when it comes to Star Wars, I’m a complete geek.
The current generation of super hero movies is more realistic. They are a more grittier and relatable genre than the super hero cartoons we grew up with imo
Guardians of the Galaxy rocked
I am Groot!
👍
Since we’re talking movies, I saw The Shape of Water today. I’m really behind on movies. Has anyone seen it?
Haven’t seen it but heard it was really good
I heard it was good and strange.
I liked it A sci-fi-y thing, some funny moments, some drama, some thriller, some nudity. Something for everyone!
Nudity- I am in. I am a bad man
I thought Wonder Woman was just okay. It was pretty much the same movie as Captain America: The first Avenger. I don’t acknowledge the existence of any star wars movie other than the original trilogy. They’re just not good.
OT or bust. Lol
I think you would like Rogue One. It was a great prequel and tie in to the original Star Wars movie. Even if you didn’t like the other Star Wars movies I think you would like that
Mike E:
I am not a huge fan of the Hulk movies either. Now the old show with Lou Ferigno I liked
How can you not like Bill Bixby and Lou Ferigno.
Totally
