I watched HOF Miami Dolphins Center Dwight Stephenson stroll to the podium. He looked happy. I know why he was so happy, but I didn’t know then. He then uttered the words with the 42nd pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State. When he said Mike, my heart raced, and then he actually said GEH-Sick-ee, I screamed a a scream of happiness, it’s possible Tim who is about 45 miles away may have heard it. We did what we haven’t been able to do for over a decade since Randy McMichael, we selected a legitimate receiving TE. I’m happy for Brian in NY, his son, and really, I’m happy for Ryan Tannehill and all Dolphins fans, because this is a gamechanger. It’s the secret sauce we’ve been missing for far too long. Gesicki will open up that field for us, because he will be that nightmare that NFL teams struggle most to cover, including our own Dolphins defense. Just his presence on the field will open things up for our RB’s, and our perimeter WR’s. He will command attention, and that will give other players opportunities they haven’t had here. I can’t wait!

What about me boss? In the 3rd RD, The Dolphins selected Ohio State LB Jerome Baker. Baker who is 6’1 229 is a speed player. He’s not a run stopping thumper, but he’s a chase and tackle guy who can also cover pretty well. It will be interesting to see how Baker is used, and not to belabor the point, but where exactly does T.J. McDonald fit in? Seems we keep adding pieces that lessen the need for T.J. with Minkah Fitzpatrick and now LB Jerome Baker. The Dallas Cowboys want a safety , and we just happen to have one, and the Cowboys have pick #116 in the 4th RD, so maybe a deal can made. We could get a DT, RB and maybe a QB, so keep your eye on MTP who has obviously been tied up and must be raring to go, if he’s been untied that is.
So far, we’ve done and excellent job in this draft, and I can’t remember the last time I’ve had the luxury of saying that. Go DOLPHINS!!
JERSEY STRONG!!!

I feel very meh about this draft. I think I will do less mocks next year.
It’s funny most of us think it was real good and so do most of the pundits. LOL
At least he’s got speed, let’s see if he can develop quickly.
The need for speed.
He’s a decent return man too I think
Is “very meh” an oxymoron?
He’s a decent return man too I think
So nice in fact I had to tell ya twice
Pete Carrol is a dick, but yoy got to give him props for keeping the Griffen twins together.
I think it’s a smart move in more than just a few ways. It will probably bring out the best in both of them just on a psych level, but it will be very hard if the ever get to a point of wanting to cut either of them so there is some risk too
Probably get ST contribution from him right off. Idthink of it as drafting a replacement for Thomas
Yeah it seems the team wants a lot of competition in the secondary and we probably keep 10 or 11. What size is Armstrong?
5’11 so kinda aberage for the type we are looking for
5-11, 193 and 4.45 fast. Returns kicks too.
He did have a pre-draft visit with us.
See. Most the guys we select do. It’s been proven across several of the past few draft years
Except for the top picks. LOL
Y’all ready for those 7th round gems!!!! Btw it’s scary, MTP hasn’t popped a single trade up or back this to.e around
Wait did I just jinx us?
We will find out tomorrow that MTP is no longer with the team….LOL
I don’t recognize the names of any of these guys anymore
ROFLMAO
If just realized what MTP stands for
Ade Aruna was a DR prospect I liked. He just went with the last pick of the 6th
Maybe Gabe Wright is in the mix at DT. He was a former 4th rd pick of the Lions in 2015. In fact they traded up for him sending a 3rd rd pick to PHI in 2016.
I tend to think they are confortable with Godcheux, Phillips and Hayes on 3rd down
I think Turner will be more involved as well and he might be a sub package DT because he was a pretty good pass rusher in college.
He was retarded good at Auburn
It’s a great draft Rock
You are just mad about Goedert
But rounds 1-4 have a bunch of guys that will contribute in 2018
Injury and character concerns can cost you millions
Danny etling is an awful QB but watch belichick make a fucking Brady out of him
Isn’t he the backup
No he was the starter at LSU
Matt Cassel was also a backup at USC.
The patriots just drafted the backup LSU qb
He might have finished second on the depth chart but that was because of injury
Brady was the backup for most his college career too. The year he was drafted he became the starter during the season I think also because of injury
Didn’t he backup the dude who was also a baseball player?

Who? I’m not mad. I don’t know who you are talking about…..
Joe dirt
Your dead to me!

Alex mcgoogle was someone I think our FO was interested in
Guessing in the 7th we pick our kicker of choice.
Pats also drafted another quick fuck WR Berrios
we do not have a kicker on our roster…. do not ‘hope’ to solve that in UDFA. just do it.
On the clock
still
Tony Adams???????
Quentin Poling everyone
Just like I’ve been saying for weeks…
LOL
An ILB???
Who
Good numbers
We are in ST mode now, LOL
beer
I guess we’re shopping for special teams guys (?)
Posted elite athletic testing numbers on-par with the best LB testing at the Combine. Ran a 4.58 with a 38-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot-7 broad jump. Has big hands and above average upper body strength. Plays with good knee bend. Tackle machine in high school and has carried that over for four years at Ohio. Impressive production included 43.5 career tackles for loss, 18 sacks, and 7 interceptions. Coaches love his football intelligence and he makes the defensive calls. Willing to strike with some force when squeezing his gap against pulling guards. Former high school safety with feel for where quarterback wants to go with the football. Gets early jumps into space in zone coverage and has ability to handle man coverage
…BUT ???
Theres the kicker
And here’s our kicker
There is the K.
so, is the rest of the football world sleeping on this guy from New Mexico? lol
First season in a long time that we did not draft OL. OD will enjoy that. LOL
Pinero must chew with his mouth open
*2017 College Senior year update – Jason Sanders is the best kickoff kicker in College Football and one of the best field goal kickers around. He led all of college football (FBS-FCS-D2-D3-etc) on kickoffs for touchbacks % as a junior (going into last 2 game was at 89+% and finished at 83%). He did it again as a senior finishing up just over 81%. He finished up 111/112 college career PATs, and 81/85 (3 blocks) in High School. He hit a monster 53-yard game winning field goal during his collegiate senior season on 9-23-17. He’s played in some of the biggest venues including Kyle Field (99,000 in attendance on 11/11/17) at Texas A&M and has performed well and enjoyed the big game atmosphere. He has the leg to make 65-70 yard field goals and routinely hits kickoffs 70+ yards with 4.1-4.2 seconds hang-time. I’ve seen him kick many kickoffs over 4.4 seconds and distances up to 80 yards. His leg is freakish, but his ability to stay calm & poised is what impresses me the most. I believe NFL prospect Jason Sanders will not only make it into the NFL this year, but will thrive for many years to come.
So in two years we have gone from Hot Dogs to Fried Chicken ??🤡
Now we can wait for all the fuckface draft grades. LOL
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO I’m Getting a Sanders Jersey!
5 picks in first four rounds is all that matters. GREAT Draft Miami Dolphins!! Can’t fill every hole in one year but we added some serious talent in areas of need.
We’re in position to be better!
The last pick of the draft will be the highest scorer on the team in a few years…..
https://twitter.com/theflyingpig44/status/990348570963431424?s=21
Did Flowers get drafted?
No, I don’t think so. Miami Better be ringing his phone. The draft tracker doesn’t have a team listed for him
Thanks Wyo. I think Pineiro was sexy pick… but this kid has more on the books to prove it wasn’t a short term fluke. good stuff.
It’s a wrap. Good draft Dolphins. Now lets get to work and get the stink of last season out of here. 🙂
We’re not done yet.. MTP is going to trade next years 3rd to trade back into the 7th for another DB 😂
LOL, Grier joked with MTP about trades at their presser.
I think Fins will get a polite “B” average with highest score a “B+” … I think it’s at worst an “A-” but realistically a solid “A”. I would not have said this in about a decade. I actually put last year’s draft as my second favorite of the last decade.
The piggy grade, which is all that matters, is B+
They dropped from an A- in the last 2 rounds bc I had no idea who they were drafting
Josh Adams RB from ND still on the board after being in the heisman talk and top five rankings for 3/4s of the season. Maybe people are thinking he had big holes considering the left side of his line went in the top 10 overall. lol
If I trust anyone it’s Rizzi!
Stanger will love that a rugby player from Australia just got drafted
Eagles pick is flippant because they are the champs … never played a single down. cute story.
I’m glad they waited to 7b to draft the kicker
It would be really cool if I knew anything about the 6th and 7a picks
But decided to be a fuckface with grades anyway. LOL
Fuck it
Give them an A+ and drink a beer
That’s the spirit. 🙂
“Piggy
The piggy grade, which is all that matters, is B+
They dropped from an A- in the last 2 rounds bc I had no idea who they were drafting”
—-
Well who’s fault is THAT? Anybody can be a genius in the early rounds. LOL Give em the A Piggy, give em the A !!
It’s their fault
It’s the Dolphins responsibility to check with me before they pull the trigger
Thankfully I have a ton of sand picks lined up for the kicker during the season – but Grier was playing with fire
They dropped from an A- in the last 2 rounds bc I had no idea who they were drafting
Piggy this got a good 15 second belly laugh from me.
https://twitter.com/theflyingpig44/status/990352924479016960?s=21
All that’s left until camp is to participate in whatever superstitious ritual you desire to make sure Tanny is as good as he can be, and that the OL stays healthy. IF that happens we are in the playoff race again.
I’m not sure the locker room approves???????
That’s who we drafted?
Don’t watch the video… the dolphin’s name is Stormy 😉
I hope she signed a NSDNA (non screeching dolphins noises agreement)
Our back 7 on D is on notice, they better bring it this year.
I’m excited about our secondary and our pass rush
No doubt! There will be more competition this year.
I am excited about the speed, athleticism, and flexibility we will have in the back end of the D
Speed and athleticism on offense too. Lots of it.
Tannenbaum said they like some of the young OL already on the team mentioning Eric Smith, Zach Sterup and having Larsen back healthy.
If you look at it, we already have our game day 7 in Tunsil, Sitton, Kilgore, Davis, James, Larsen and Young. So there will be competition for probably only two more spots.
I am sure OD is not satisfied. Lol
I don’t know how many tImes I have to oink it
But you didn’t want anything to do with the day 1 and 2 OL
After that, those are wasted player
Everyone was reaching for OL
I mean if Nelson fell to us – I’m all over it
But that didn’t happen
The only argument for a player that was available to us was Daniels
When Ragnow and Price went off the board In the first and Hernandez early in the 2nd – OL was not a realistic pick
Agreed. We’ll add some UDFAs and maybe even a vet along the way. Like I said, barring injury there are likely only two more spots open.
That’s not the point, the point is you have to take lots of OL in the draft or the Doofus Brigade…then when they all suck, it’s the Doofus Brigade couldn’t scout an OL if their lives depended on it. In other words bitch to bitch.
Rams with another DL pick. That’s 5 or 6 DL drafted by them this year.
They run a 3-4, some of those edge guys will be OLBs.
Lol, the Rams picked Sebastian Joseph in the 6th, the only DT they took.
OL & DL UDFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few, they seem okay with what they have.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Logan Woodside to the Bengals!
I was hoping he’d go undrafted where we could land him, but at least the Patsies* aren’t going to get him!
I can’t believe Jason Sanders lasted until the 7th round, dude’s gotta leg.
That’s why we drafted him. He’s awesome on kickoffs and like most young Kickers they need to improve their consistency and technique on FGs and now Xpts. He’s Rizzi’s project and he’s a good STs coach.
I see that ESPN is comparing Woodside to Case Keenum… no wonder I like him, LOL.
It’s all about Tannehill being good to go and continuing where he left off. Then Osweiler and Fales competing for the backup job. To me they can be just as effective as Matt Moore when he was better. He really looked sluggish to me last year and could not avoid pressure very well. I think it was time as age caught up with him.
QB will likely be a high priority next season.
Why?
Gase is going to whisper in Ozzy’s ear all season!
Why what?
Gotta beat Wyoming to it:
My first 4 draft picks for 2019:
DE Nick Bosa
OT David Edwards
DT Jerry Tillery
QB Clayton Thorson
I’m that order, LOL
^lunatic LOL
In that order
LOL
Well I feel Honored!
Out of players I liked, bring in OG Tony Adams and QB riley Ferguson as UDFA’s please.
Very quick shortlist of UDFAs I’d like…
QB: Kurt Benkert
WR: Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jester Weah, Damion Ratley
CB: Tarvarus McFadden, Jalen Davis
DT: Tyler Lancaster
OT: Brett Toth, Desmond Harrison
OG: Tony Adams, Toby Weathersby
C: Evan Brown
Toth has to serve before he can play!
Oh, yeah! Good catch, man!
I forgot to add Poona Ford!!!
I loved this draft, well I seem to every year mostly, but this one seemed like everything fell in place for us, unlike other years. Minkah should’ve gone earlier and is going to give us some deep coverage we aren’t used to among other things, Gesicki easily could’ve gone in the 1st and will let us forget Landry on 3rd down. Other picks of need blocking TE was there for the taking, and he’s supposed to be an underrated pass catcher too. Baker a cover 21st century LB that we desperately needed. With Ballage we finally have 3 RBs that could carry the load for any given week, and he can catch. Don’t know much about Armstrong, but with sub-4.4 speed he should be a good ST player. Col. Sanders can kick like no one else, something we haven’t had for quite a while. Poling I’m not real impressed with yet, but he at least seems like he mostly in the right place at the right time, but he’s going to have to stick his nose in there a little more instead of just watching as a ball carrier is being taken to the ground.
Tim, I think QB pickings are going to be slim next year. Part of the reason why guys like QB Clayton Thorson went back to play their senior year.
You won’t know until they play the season. The thing that people have to rap their head around is, the team likes Tannehill. I’m talking looking for a quality developmental QB next year, not going all out for a top of the draft guy.

******************
Wait, Dion Jordan grades drafts now? And people read them? 🙂
Lmao
WOW this is the first time in team history the Dolphins did not take an offensive lineman?
Just to spite OD
I haven’t been this pleased about our draft since . . . . I can’t even remember
Why was John Bosa such a bust for us but his family is great for everyone else
Two bad knee injuries in the late 80’s when it was career threatening. He wasn’t a bad player, he was solid.
I forgot to add Allen Lazard and Hercules Mata’afa to my UDFA list!!!
Big tackle 6-8 310.
6’1″, 301, 5.30

When I look at the position groups on our roster, I don’t see us being worse anywhere except DT because we have not replaced Suh’s level. We’re either status quo or better in all other areas in my estimation.
But this team will have such a different look then in 2017, we have no idea who they are as a team. Lots of turnover the last two years. Common with a 3rd year HC. It’s exciting to me because I do see the upside for a good season.
No Poona for us!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEER!!! LOL
That’ll cheer up OD
You never know which of these late round or UDFAs will be gems. It does happen.
EXACTLY, which is why I’m taking these UDFA signings seriously.

Chris Grier: “I didn’t expect Minkah to be there. He was one of the top 5 or 6 players in this draft.”

FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
WE GOT MY DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Omar had posted Durham Smythe’s combine workouts earlier, he’s pretty fluid not just some lead footed blocking TE. He must be more about technique and effort as a blocker because he doesn’t look overly big or strong.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/0ap3000000925181/Durham-Smythe-s-full-2018-NFL-Scouting-Combine-workout
What are you listening to Omar for you maniac!
No Omar just posted this. It’s my view of Smythe, nothing about Omar’s opinion. LOL
I’m sure he will catch a few passes but his bread and butter is blocking
Which we need!

I dunno… y’all think I’m happy today?!!
HELL YEAH!!!
GO PHINS!!!
Cool!
I need to give a SPECIAL shout-out to my man BBMike!!! WE GOT OUR TEs, BROTHER!!!
😀
😀
😀
Gesicki adds a whole new dynamic at TE and for the offense that we haven’t had in quite some time. The other guys we tried who had ability just didn’t have it anymore for all sorts of reasons. We have so much more promise at TE heading into 2018.
I don’t even consider Gray a TE, he’s more FB/H-back and short yardage back who plays STs. Gray makes the team along with 3-4 other TEs.
a guard from William and Mary!?! LOL…my son goes to W&M…they are not a football powerhouse.
Hopefully he’s more William than Mary. LOL
😆
well that’s a ray of sunshine?
The media created the QB circle jerk. I never thought we were going heavy at QB. They’re rolling with Tannehill to some people’s chagrin but it is what it is. Ryan, you gotta be good.
I think the draft just didn’t fall like it needed to to draft a QB. They were definitely interested in signing one they just didn’t get them at the cist they felt like they wanted. To me it just shows they stuck to the plan and it didn’t pan out that way
The amount of investigation they put into the QB prospects wasn’t a media circle jerk.
Baker and Poling put Anthony, Allen and Hull on notice. Alonso and McMillan are penciled in. Vet Terence Garvin is most likely depth and STs.
Riley Ferguson is apparently deciding between us, the eagles and one other team
Grier on Jerome Baker
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-sp-dolphins-third-round-transcript-20180427-story.html
Fucking raiders took 3 of our UDFA guys including Pinero, who the dolphins were looking to add as kicking competition for their 7th round dude
D, not one QB drafted. The proof is in the pudding. Reality vs. perception.
“The proof is in the pudding”??? Is this a Bill Cosby joke? 😉
No, that whole situation makes me ill. Sorry that was the case. Sad.
