This was somewhat of a beleaguered group last season. Tony Lippett was out for the season with an achilles injury, and we had to sign veteran CB Alterraun Verner, who played in 15 games for us with 2 starts. Rookie Cordrea Tankersley was pressed into action, and had some good moments and some bad ones, starting and playing in 11 games last season. Only 2 CB’s on the Dolphins current roster played in all 16 games last season, Xavien Howard and Bobby McCain. As far as consistency goes, McCain was our best CB last season. Xavien Howard had a stretch at the end of last season that was All-Pro caliber. There is definitely promise in this group, and one such promising figure is 2017 UDFA Torry McTyer, who has been opening eyes in training camp. Here’s the lowdown on all of our CB’s.
Xavien Howard CB – 6’1 192 – 25YO
“X” ended the season with a flourish. He had all 4 of his INT’s in 2 games, 2 in the Denver game, and 2 against New England, and one against Denver was for a TD. That was his breakout, and although he didn’t get an additional INT, he was playing as close to shutdown corner as you can get. He finished the season with 48 tackles (42 solo), 13 passes defensed, 1 sack, and 4 INT’s (1 for a TD). So we know who one of the starters is, as X will be one of them. If he can continue his strong play from the end of last season, we’re going to have a very strong secondary.
____________________________________________________
Cordrea Tankersley CB – 6’1 200 – 24YO
Our 3rd RD pick in the 2017 NFL Draft (#97), the Clemson product was forced to start 11 games last season due to injuries in the secondary. He was up and down, showing flashes of good play, and then as expected, looking lost at times too. His spot is definitely up for grabs, he has no such “lock” on the spot opposite X. He’s going to have to be more consistent, and also find the football. In 11 games starts, Cordrea had zero INT’s. He did finish with 31 tackles and 7 passes defensed. Competition is coming for that spot, so Cordrea is on notice!
____________________________________________________
Bobby McCain CB – 5’11 192 – 25YO
Good ol’ Bobby McCain had quite the season last year. He was so consistent playing mostly in the slot, that the Dolphins rewarded him with a 4YR/$27M contract. According the depth chart the Dolphins released, he’s opposite Xavien Howard, but I don’t pay much attention to that. Bobby is a slot CB, even with rookie draftee Minkah Fitzpatrick, who does the very same and a lot more, I think McCain will be on the inside almost exclusively this year as always. The 2015 5th RD pick has done well for himself, an excellent draft pick for sure.
___________________________________________________
Tony Lippett CB – 6’3 192 – 26YO
Lippett had a very nice 2016 season, but then missed the entire 2017 season with an achilles injury. Lippett showed great ball skills in coverage, finishing the 2016 season with 68 tackles, (45 solo), 10 passes defensed, and 4 INT’s. The tall, former WR played the ball very well as if he were the intended receiver. It’s a long recovery though, and Lippett left scrimmage the other day with an ankle injury. I’m not sure how much Lippett can contribute this season, but I’m pulling for him. If he can get healthy, I think he can be an impact player, but I’m not sure how much that injury has robbed his speed and cutting ability. Time will tell, and we’ll see if he get himself whole again.
___________________________________________________
Torry McTyer CB – 5’11 188 – 23YO
So far in the 2018 Dolphins training camp, he is the darling of the secondary. The 2017 UDFA who was signed by the Dolphins last May is really showing well early on training camp. The speedy UNLV product played in 7 games last season for Miami, mostly on ST’s. At the moment, he is listed 3rd on the depth chart the Dolphins put out before the preseason. How much does that matter? According to McTyer, it doesn’t. He’s going to keep playing hard, taking nothing for granted, and making the most of his opportunities. Although slightly shorter than most of the other Dolphins CB’s, McTyer has good speed, equal to or better than all of them. We’ll see if Cinderella can continue to shine.
__________________________________________________
Jalen Davis CB – 5’10 185 – 22YO
Davis was an UDFA signed out of Utah St. The former All-American CB was a non invitee to the NFL combine, a snub that reportedly fuels Davis. He showed well at his pro day running a 4.4 40, putting up 11 reps and soaring to a 36″ vertical. The 4 YR starter at Utah St. finished his college career with 11 INT’s, 4 FF, and 4 TD’s. He will have to battle to make the roster.
___________________________________________________
Cornell Armstrong CB – 6’0 185 – 22YO
The Dolphins drafted Armstrong in the 6th RD of the 2018 NFL Draft (#209). A 4 year starter for Southern Mississippi, he finished his career with 5 INT’s, 1 for a TD. Armstrong has had a slow start so far in training camp, and as we all know, he better pick it up, or he will find himself handing in his playbook sooner than later.
___________________________________________________
Taveze Calhoun CB – 6’1 188 – 25YO
Signed originally by the Bears as an UDFA then released, and signed by the Saints. The Saints released him in December of ’17, and the Dolphins signed him to the PS. In January, Miami signed him to a future/reserves contract. Another cornerback from Mississippi, but Mississippi St. in this case, totaled 6 INT’s in 3 years, also forcing 3 fumbles and recovering 1. Another longshot to make the roster, he faces an uphill battle. Tavese (pronounced Tuh-VEZ) had 2 INT’s in practice and a fumble return (60 YDS) for a TD, so don’t count him out quite yet.
___________________________________________________
So that’s where we’re at with the CB’s. I wouldn’t count Tank out of starting opposite X, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Lippett was on the PUP to start the season. I just have a feeling he might not be ready. I hope McTyer keeps pushing, and pushing hard, that will make Tank earn it if he wins that battle. I also hope X keeps balling, and doesn’t rest on his late year success. I also realize that I haven’t included Minkah Fitzpatrick in this group, because he’s the guy who will be playing everywhere, including both inside and outside in certain situations as a CB. Basically, he’s going to be a matchup guy, so Minkah will be everywhere. Good ol’ Bobby McCain is steady as can be, and I hope he continues in that vein. next up, safeties!

Oink 🐷 and first
I don’t know anything about the last 3 on your list but I’m excited about the first 4
Howard look like a rising star. He might be probowl material the way his play is ascending
Mccain is an exceptional nickel
I was excited when we drafted Tankersly. He played well last year. There’s the possibility of a sophomore slump but if he plays like he did last year that will be great.
Lippet was just taken off track by an injury. Don’t know what to expect but in the world of #4s, it doesn’t bother me one bit to take a chance on a guy recovering from injury. I hope he stays healthy this offseason. It’s important for his career, but I don’t think it kills us if it doesn’t happen for him
🐖💨
Piggy – Sometimes it takes a while for the link to the new article to show up. Not sure why, but there are times it shows up immediately. I don’t do anything differently, and I don’t want to do the sticky front page thing, that’s too messy. lol
My advice:
Fart on it
Looks like we’re taking Drew Locke, QB Missouri with the 5th pick in the 2019 draft.
who’s mock is that?
We will be picking way after #5 and it most likely will not be a CB.
He’s like a bunch of the QB’s coming out this next year, they either really solidify themselves as worthy of a top selection or they shouldn’t be taken until round 2-3. Locke could be a extremely talented QB, he has all the right skills, he has experience in college, but last year, especially early, i wouldn’t have had him as anything but project at QB. If this year is consistently like what he started looking like in the second half of last year, then yeah he’s a first rounder.
Same can be said about Stidham, Hebert, Patterson and Grier. They all have upper end potential, but there is a need for a good bit of development from all of them this year.
Thorson, who could have come out last year is probably a good guy if your looking for a conistent player with not a ton of upside as he is probably the more developed of all of them right now, there just isnt much of an IT factor with him.
Eason is eligible to come out this coming year, but since he wont be playing (due to his transfer from UGA), i think he would go back to Washington for another year.
Fitzgerald and Fancious would be decent options if we are looking for mobility in our QB, but both of those would take a year or two to develop. Both have led big college programs though and both of them have carry the team potential.
Stick is going to have some buzz around him because he is coming out of NDSU and their pro-style program and will be the most “under center” trained QB, not sure about him though because i havent seen him much.
All in all its a deep class if you are looking at a bunch of candidates that have potential, i just dont see any outright ready to go guys just yet. That may change by years end though.
I’d suggest a DT at 20 something…
Good thing you waited to do the CB blog, a lot has changed since the last blog came out.
I planned it that way. OK, I was too lazy to write one on Monday. lol
From Omar:
“The running game was almost non-existent all day, in every situation (red zone, starters vs. starters, reserves vs. reserves, etc…) as the run defense dominated.”
Here is to hoping that they are that good at stopping the run against other teams!

I didn’t realize that Torry McTyer was so small at 5’11”, 188lbs.
At least he is balling and not as small as Dickcake.
I have to give dickcake some props though, he might have been small but the fucker had hops at least most of the time he was with us. That one-handed play jumping over Megatron for an int still stands out in my mind as one of the better plays i have ever seen

Rock, that mockster is being nice to us, most the others have us picking 1 2 or 3 lol
Where is all this hype on Howard coming from? He wasn’t exactly great last year. I think he has nice potential we haven’t seen him playing anywhere near Pro Bowl level yet. We’ll see how he plays this year. Maybe he has taken that additional step. We’ll see once we start playing real games
He closed out the year very strong, and reports from camp has been he has shut down everyone they have put him on. Thats where the hype is coming from. Again, camp hype isnt exactly worthy of confidence but, its all we have right now and it along with the way things were trending towards the end of the year give us hope it will carry over.
Like D said, he played excellent at the end of the season. Some teams just stopped throwing to his side. It’s not hype, it was just good play. I didn’t say he played great all year, just he flourished at the end of the season, which is true.
Two picks in one game vs 12 is hype material!!!

Getting close to when the seats are actually bought (even if pay is at the Fest). So not last call for you possibles, but close to when you have to decide to be on the hook for them.
He’s now your Dad? That must be very awkward for you.
LOL — he has a 3-month year old kid at 54 he never planned on. Hope you make it to a Fest and meet him. Good dude how makes good food.
Stanger – Do you have Venmo? It would be a really easy way for all of us to pay you, and it’s so easy to keep track of who paid you and who didn’t.
Never even heard of it. Sounds like they set up something for just like this though. But going electronic on stuff normally not a good idea for me….. and the cash helps me cheat on my taxes. 🙂
I gotcha – It just links to your bank account. It’s an easy way for anyone to electronically send you money, so basically, you can send out a request to everyone in our group, and then when they send it, Venmo will alert you that you have been paid. It’s awesome really, it’s like Western Union but the 2018 version, in other words, it’s instantaneous. You need money, you get it immediately. It’s great for college kids as you can imagine. The guy who ran my softball team used it to collect team dues, it was 1000X easier for him to collect this way. It’s the phone app version of Paypal, run by Paypal

Mike E — how many times can I say thanks and great write? Am right with you on Lippett (least before the big injury) could be an impact player. He was unpolished, but same time WR was his main gig in college. Love the size of the dog in Tank, but just don’t see as much upside on him. And know close to zero about McTyer other than reports, but maybe he is the guy with a bullet on him — but then that was Tank starting last year.
All goes back to one of them will be the 2nd guy on the boundary. Ain’t gonna be McCain and if Minkah is doing it only cause how the scheme worked out on a play.
Your welcome and thanks Stanger – Exactly on Minkah, they will pick and choose certain spots where they match him up on certain receivers. I like that, the offense doesn’t know when that will happen, and hopefully, Minkah’s up to the task.
Other than the obvious…
Cornell Armstrong is my guy,
Lil-Dude tackles like no other CB I ever saw coming into the league,
Fast too, think he’ll be a ST’s ace to begin with!!!
GOOD STUFFF Mike,
GOFINS!!!
Can/will they 53 man protect him?
I had him on my 53 piece from two weeks ago,
and I had McTyer between 54-65 saves
But that was before McTyer blasted off,
So might have to reverse those two
While Lippett injury could open the door wide for
Armstrong & Davis, or Calhoun…
GOFINS!!!
Thanks KV! We carried 7 CB’s last year, but I would expect less with Minkah here, probably 6, so the fight for the last spot would be between Davis and Armstrong, but could be changed if Lippett goes on the PUP, which i think is a definite possibility.
I had only 5 CB’s on my 53 cuz of Fitz…
Had McTyer between 54-65,
and now looks like he’s a definite 53 guy…
Lippett status gives Cornell & Davis or Calhoun a good shot at 53, IMHO !!!
Stanger – count me as in for the fest. Also should be in for the Metlife takeover if that ends up happening (not sure who may be coordinating that).
That’s great Twice! Looking forward to meeting you at both Fests. I think Piggy is sort of in charge of the MetLife takeover.
Awesome Twice — let us know if you need help on where to stay and such. Really looking forward to meeting you. You’ve been like God on this place for so long….. would say “invisible hand” but that one is already taken. 🙂
You guys aren’t including a big factor in Howard’s play. He’s a press CB that wasn’t playing press. Once they started playing him properly in the press he flourished.
Good point
Oh, I forgot it’s hype season. Lol
You’re right, everyone sucked, we were 6-10. lol
MikeE,
I just think folks are, as usual, getting a llittle ahead of themselves. Howard had an OK season. Teams probably did start going away from him because we had a terrible guy playing on the other side….not because Xavien became a lock down corner. Folks do this over and over with players….and then get pissed when that player doesn’t live up to their own manufactured hype. Let’s see what Howard does this year. I think he’s gonna have a solid season, but he hasn’t proven he’s there yet. This year is one where I think we can have a little heightened expectation for him. Last year was a nice step in the right direction after a pretty rough start to his career.
I can’t speak for everyone else, but I’m going by how he ended the season, and the same goes for Tannehill. If Tannehill started great in ’16 but finished poorly, I wouldn’t be nearly as enthusiastic about him, but he had an 8 game stretch until the end of his season that he played better than he ever had, so I’m looking forward to and hoping he can build on that.
Same goes for Howard. The last 6 games of ’17, it seemed like the light went on for him. He played very well, better than he ever did. So again, I’m hoping that play is what he can build on and maybe continue or better. It’s really not “hype” or silly to think this way, at least from where I’m sitting. lol
KV – I think you have to have at least 6 CB’s, especially because of ST’s. I could be wrong, I figure we only carry 5-6 WR’s, so you gotta have those fast guys that can cover kickoffs and punts.
I had 9 DB’s on 53, (5/4), and several more on 65..
Hoping for a 4th TE over 6th WR…
On 53
You can have a lot of guys on rookie contracts, that have shown they may be ready to breakout, that you need to take the next step or you can have guys that just completed their rookie contracts and have taken that next step, in which case you have to pay them.
It’s a viscous cycle, that’s why a top QB and/or great system helps tremendously.
You cant keep everyone and give them all big bucks.
Here guys, use this so Randy can’t piss in your Cheerios
THE MIAMI DOLPHINS ARE UNDEFEATED!
Try some Randy! It’s good!

——————————————-
I think you should evaluate how many DB’s they keep because a lot of what they will be looking to do is get players who have position versatility so they can have a S and a CB on the roster and only using 1 spot to do it. If Armstrong can play both spots i think he could have a shot to stick on the team as one of the 10 DB’s they keep, which i think is the normal number they keep.
Good point, not sure anyone past the top 3 can even play NFL quality safety.
I think Maybe Smith and Aikens could hold down the fort in a pinch, but i wouldn’t want them back there for an extended amount of time.
I think id have Armstrong, Lucas, and Smith i think are the guys i think are most likely to take the last spot for DB. I think the top 9 are pretty no brainer this year.
S/CB Jordan Lucas is a possibility too..
He’s got 2 years on the team in this system to his advantage, but also he has been given two years to show up and hasnt so that might be starting to hurt him some.
Thanks Ken, Tim and ER!
Aikens can play S and NCB, Lucas is pretty much the same. Armstrong should be able to play both, but i dont know for sure because we haven’t seen him at S. I think Smith did pretty good for us at S last year when he was in, and i think he played well on ST’s too.
Davis might have the most upside at CB but i think he is going to at least spend a year on the PS before he gets on our 53. He might get poached too because he was one of the top UDFA available last year when the signing period started.
My boy Armstrong is too small for S,
Though he is a GREAT TACKLER with crazy speed!!!
There are at least a player or two in every group this year that i am going to hate to see go, but they just arent going to have enough room to keep them.
first preseason game tomorrow, so I figured I better check in.
Been super busy with the A’s attempting a ‘worst to first’ season with the lowest payroll in baseball. I think the Yankees infield makes more than the entire A’s 40 man roster. lol
Good to see you Rhino. And you have to be happy with those A’s. Lot more props to you on that one than being a Red Sox fan.
Think the Phins put Broward and Dade in a battle over this one, but it is done. Pretty heftly price on the new facility though….. does the Saban bubble travel well?
————————————-
“The Miami Dolphins will move their training complex eight miles south to a site next to their stadium in north Miami-Dade County. Dolphins’ training headquarters have been at Nova Southeastern University in Broward County since 1993. The team will build a larger complex expected to cost up to $75 million and projected to open before the start of the 2020 season.”
Well, I know my client is not going to be happy! I do renovation work at the teams current hotel which will NOT be their hotel once camp moves to a new location.
HEY an appearance by the mythical fat unicorn! Good to see you Rhino!
Because LeBron didn’t make it mandatory, that another superstar be signed along with him, the Lakers were able to keep their young corps. They’re 14 deep in quality players.
This is basically the same thing the Fins have become. Got rid rid of their star power, but have lots of depth.
Seems players like Wilson signed with Miami, because of Gase’s vision on how they’ll be used. Quinn also fits this mold. Gone are the days when FAs avoided us like the plague.
D, word from camp is Maurice Smith is having a good camp. That’s good because he impressed the coaches last year when Nate Allen went down. I think he’s solid on STs too so he looks like a good candidate as a depth safety.
Top 3 are interchangeable, but after that we’re thin, so it would be nice to see someone step up.
I think Gesicki just caught another redzone TD.
How many teams are more than 3 deep? Sounds like Smith is holding his own though.
Nice article Mike E. I think our secondary is a unit on the rise
Yes Mike, good write up.
Yep.
Another fine job Mike E

I would guess this means we will socke for locke????
what is scary is this FO shopped Juwaun James this offseason and had no takers, Tunsil struggled at LT, he needs to go back to LG where he dominated but we have no LT. I’m not sure how good Kilgore will be…obviously the 49ers didn’t think he was that good.
How do you feel about having Sitton on the line? Not sure hoe he plays but dude cracks me up in his comments. Really liking how much faith they have in Davis too. Seems they at least think a diamond in the rough find.
Sitton is solid. Packers miss him since the day he left couple years ago.
ER — I’m really excited to have him here, but he wasn’t a player ORob mentioned either. Take that as he is excited to have him here too. And he did have a real good point on Tunsil. No doubt he would be an awesome G like before, even if am sure he would the LT money come next contract.
I never heard anything definitive about shopping James. It was suggested by some media types, never heard any real rumors that they were actively shopping him. Fans here were saying trade him to Denver for C.J. Anderson.
As for Tunsil, last year was his first year at LT in the pros, not many young players play well at LT right away. He has the ability, but he has to clean up the finer points of his game.
The 49ers signed Kilgore to an extension and had nothing but praise for him. They saw an opportunity to get younger at C with Weston Richburg in FA so they dealt him to us basically to clear his cap so they were not paying two centers starting money.
So I find none of this scary. 😉
If we were shopping James, not easy to trade a RT who missed his last 8 games with an injury and was in his 5th year option. So any team that traded for him would have to be confident he’s durable, willing to pay that 5th year option ($9.3M) and/or sign him to a new deal. Not an easy trade to make.
I think the D will be okay. I’m not expecting top 10. I’d expect more like 10-15; but you never know. We have some good athletes. If the offense can improve their third down efficiency and score a little more, I think the D can play well enough.
We were 16th in yards allowed last year and 29th in scoring but that also includes the offense’s turnovers for TDs (5), setting up poor field position for the defense too often, and too many 3 and outs. The DEF was hung out to dry as they went through multiple players going down and having to take on larger roles. The offense never got on track with any consistency. They were awful most of the season.
The defense carried this team last year the first 6 games at 4-2, not Ajayi. 😉
Then the wheels started to come off in all phases. I mean we went 2-8 the rest of the way. LOL
Let’s hope the 2018 team is anything but last year’s team. 🙂
Thanks Ken, Tim and ER!
Sports Illustrated has us at closer to the 10-6 team, than the 6-10 team, but too many questions to say we’re a playoff team.
https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/08/08/miami-dolphins-2018-nfl-preview
This team is not void of talent. It’s how they approach their jobs and their desire to win. We’ll see if all the change in vision, personnel and culture change comes to fruition.
1. Miami’s biggest offensive problem last season was not Ryan Tannehill’s injury, Jay Cutler’s divergences, O-line coach Chris Foerster’s infamous video, Julius Thomas’s disappearance or the wide receivers’ inconsistency. It was the offensive line, which head coach Adam Gase never fully trusted. Every 3rd-and-long became a checkdown drill and primer for punting. Gase’s once-potent receiver screen game became ubiquitous and predictable. The ground game became an afterthought.
Drake averaged 18.2 rushes per game alone the last 5 games. I don’t think the ground game was an afterthought. The problem was that we couldn’t run when we had too and falling behind makes you one dimensional trying to catch up. The commitment was there, the execution was not.
We have to be better in that area this year.

Yea ROCK, I watched last night posted about it at last thread…
One thing I neglected to say was that you had to feel for Hue Jackson losing both Brother then Mother within 10 days of each other just as camp was opening up, pretty emotional!!! Power to’Ya Hue !!!
Otherwise, pretty phoney was #14/80 and the GM and the guy you qquoted Greg (Bounty-Gate) Williams..
Seemed quite the dysfunctional bunch,
Too funny that the number one overall pick Baker Mayfield
Had to live in an RV (van type at that, not the luxury house on wheels type) along with Tyrod Taylor and another grown man rookie QB during TC…
Some funny shit that I saw upon last nights thread/post
Typed it as I heard/watched it, LMAO@!!
Pretty good drumming LB
No shit I got a lozenge bitch
DAMNN, The Browns don’t house or feed their rookies???
Baker says “”””most position groups do dinners and stuff and make the rookies pay for it, (((but not here, not the Cleveland Browns))””” with a disgusted tone as his next sentence is “””I had to get an RV”””
Baker Mayfield who didn’t come across as being too happy about it had to buy an RV (that he couldn’t afford pre-signing of contract),
while brass management seemed kinda pushy about Baker hurrying up and signing…
Then Browns brass are telling THE NUMBER ONE OVERALL PICK/future face of the franchise aker Mayfield how to go about using the RV’s toilet,
and that he’ll have to go to Walmart to pick up the toilet tabs that break down the bulk of what’s put in toilet…
Are you frickenkidding me???
LMAO!!!
NO WONDER WHY 14 HATES WHERE HE ENDED UP!!!
Can you imagine if he had been drafted there???

Made a big deal bout Landry one handed catches, showed a bunch’a MIAMI catches with one hand even though the second hand was totally available, stupid..
He made a one handed catch in the scrimmage, nothing special, a deflection that happened to hit his hand hanging by his side cuz he thougt it was gonna be a pick
and the (more than once) phoney ass GM & buncha players act as if he walked on water
Lot of the coaches seemed phoney, Haley, DC Gregg (Bounty-Gate) Williams,
Seemed pretty dysfunctional to me
The one handed bandit himself came off severely phoney in many instances
as the star of the show… “””We’re blessed with this talent to bless others with, bless’Em””” Musta said bless’Em 100 times, and in most cases it was as an intended burn to whom he just beat, then he in WR room giving a weak ass Fuck filled motivational speech, what a KOOK !!!
Browns facilities, building, furniture, etc pretty fricken weak IMHO!!!
Looks like the replay of the game isn’t until Saturday at 6:30 am ET. on NFLN
Game day bitches woo hoo

How do you feel about having Sitton on the line? Not sure hoe he plays but dude cracks me up in his comments
________________________________________
seeing that the OL coach and OC had him last year and brought him here; they must know what he brings to the table.
Sitton #71
Is anyone here going to the game tonight?
Don’t judge OL performance from non contact or limited contact drills/practice. This OL is gonna take some time to get the feel for each other. Plus, we have a new center, who I assume is making the calls. Let’s give these guys some time to figure it out before we start blaming them for everything…..as usual. Lol
It will take time, but the nice thing is, this year the same 5 will be working together as a unit. Last year, hip-boy was not involved in practice, so the whole unit was never together, which couldn’t have helped things.
Plus, Larsen got hurt early on and they used a few different guys at OG, now it will be Sitton at LG and Davis at RG. Consistency will definitely help
I certainly can appreciate that last sentence!!!
“””””Let’s give these guys some time to figure it out before we start blaming them for everything””””
GOFINS!!!
Mike..
As far as attending, spending money, time & travel for a PS game..
They are the worst, I’d only attend a PS game if it were held in my backyard…
Though this year, we got some rookies that are gonna be an interesting watch with extensive play, Ballage and such, so as usual I’ll watch every minute on TV as its being played!!!
But attending a PS game is minimal fun if any for me!!!
I’m pretty sure you can use the sports streaming sites for the PS games just like in the regular season.
I read this article, and forgive me if it doesn’t make sense. Omar says the game will be broadcast on TV, but also says Dolphins are broadcasting game on the team website, which will allow Florida residents to watch the game for the first time. If it’s on the team website, can’t anyone watch it?
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-sp-dolphins-preseason-boardcast-20180809-story.html
I just went to the site and on the home page it features the game tonight and has a watch live button. I’ll try that first. It would be weird if it’s just for Florida residents.
KV – How much do you think it would cost to have them play in your backyard? lol
I’d have to ask my dog Mike 😜
He said the cost would be an opposing players thigh, calf, achilles, or bicep chewy toy..
MikeE,
Practice time is so huge for the OL. I think how things have changed for the way and time teams can practice has really impacted the development and quality of OL play. I think the overall level of OL play throughout the league has gotten worse because of it. There is a lot of poor OL play in the league.
Agreed. These PS games are the best way to work on the run game because they do very little of it in camp.
Randy, that’s a really good point about the limited practices now.
So what do you think, Tannehill plays a series or two at the most tonight?
I would think so. Might only be one series if they move the ball and score.
Agreed.
Okay so there you have it. Those of us who are out of touch out of towners don’t get it. LOL
LOL @ “out of touch out of towners”
How do they expect us to get in touch if they don’t stream it for us also..LOL
They shouldn’t it only for non south Florida residents,
South Florida gets it live on TV!!!
I feel for you hard core fans that have to wait till 630 am Sat, or 4am Tuesday!!!
Set your DVR’s, mines been set for two weeks for tonight, sat & Tues,
Case a flock of birds flying over, or whether messes with one or the other…
GOFINS!!!
“””SHOULD””” STREAM IT for only non south Florida residents…
Yeah that sucks.
These are the two sites I used last year.
http://firstsrowsports.tv/football
http://sportstream.tv/
I’ll try these tonight.
REALLY HOPE that it works out for Ya’all, do enough talking to myself till the regular season at the Shout (where I’m the youngster at 59)!!!
Thanks Tim, I will try these!!
You have to deal with annoying pop up ads but there are ways around it. When you see an ad and it has the X for close hover over it but don’t click right away, they jump to another area on the ad and there is usually another smaller X that will close it. You have to get a feel for how to deal with it.
Thanks again Mr. Enchanter
Yeah Rhino! How ’bout them A’s! Go fins!
I’m working till probably about 9:30PM tonight, so I wouldn’t be able to watch the game tonight anyway
Manitoba
If you see this: I may have a line on some Dolphins/Packers tickets.
The streaming of the game tonight for only So Fl residents is done by ISP, which can be spoofed, so if you can get a local ISP you can stream it.
How do you do that?
Yeah, how the hell can you do that?
My girlfriend is the hack, and I won’t be home today to figure it out, but next week I’m going to do it.
LOL @ KV with the dog! He can chew on as many of the opposing team as he likes. We need to bring the Patriots over. 🙂
😁
Mike is streaming the game at work and not paying attention to customers and people are leaving with eyeglasses like this.

LOL !!!
LMAO!
Fuckin A Tim, that’s funny🤓
I dont think I’ll watch the game
I find preseason consistently misleading…lol
I usually focus on the rookies and other younger players. Other than that I don’t take too much from PS games. The first one is usually sloppy.
I’ll record it and watch it at me leisure. I’ll probably fast forward through most of it.
Sound like I got me a Cockney accent all of a sudden. lol
LOL Tim – They’ll be saying “Are you sure they’re straight, they fit good?” I’ll say “YEAH, YEAH, they fit fine, now I’m VERY BUSY!” lol
LOL
Customer: Are you sure this is my prescription?
Mike: Yeah yeah… you’re blind as a bat have a nice day.

How do you do that?

It’s really easy. See the link below which has a simple, 12 hour, 842 step instruction video (with bonus content included- ‘how to stop hitting yourself in the head with a hammer after trying to do this shit’.)

😀
I actually have no idea how hard it is.
I’m still arguing with myself over whether or not to stay away from the board and articles until Saturday, so I can watch the game Saturday morning.
I know if I don’t, I will have read so much about it, I won’t even care about watching the game by then. But I’m not sure I have the discipline to stay away for almost two days, lol.
My wife does web design and hosting. I’m going to ask her about this spoofing IP addresses thing to see if it’s a viable option for us.
Good luck, I would imagine it’s not an easy thing to do.
I was just talking with wifey about it and she started talking about using VPNs to get a specific area and different levels of protection based on ISPs, and regional security protocol…my eyes started to glaze over, lol.
Long story short, she said it definitely can be done (it’s what hackers do all the time), but whether it’s worth the trouble and we’re going to do it…maybe.
Kong – It would be funny if all of a sudden 50 million people are watching the game from Florida.
LOL, Florida residency increase by 200% in the month of August.
LOL
It didn’t seem like it was going to be hard, she’s going to be out of town when she explains it to me so…it really can’t be that hard.
She just texted me to give her the link to the site, so it sounds like she may have already done it for ours. Since the game isn’t till 4 I guess I won’t know for certain till then, but I’m excited it looks like this may work .
Thanks for the idea!
I never would have known to ask her if you hadn’t mentioned it.
So I’ve posted before the white doe that I’ve seen around my house the past 2-3 years. I consider her a good omen. Haven’t seen her for a bit and then this happened this morning. It’s a sign!!!!. Hope my link works.
I was just watching a video that was talking about albino deer. My cousin sells baby albino turtles, what a business.
Wow so cool!
That’s awesome. Must be real hard to spot when it snows.
Charleston West Virginia is a nice town. Got here this morning and am leaving tomorrow.
Waited 85 minutes in my doctor’s waiting room today just to get to the exam room for my physical. And no emergency situation or even an apology. How much you wanna bet if was 10 minutes late for my appointment would have gotten an “oh your late… will see what we can do”?
I had it out with my doctors Receptionist last time I went for the same reason I got stuck in traffic and was 10 minutes late for my appointment and they gave me shit and I went off on them about making me wait 30 to 40 minutes every appointment. The short story is I have to find a new doctor now.
Finding a good doc is hard. You go on the internet and you get the ones on the internet…..the ones looking for business.
My ex who is one of those took my son to an appointment once at the pediatrician, something I usually do. He was texting me telling me they had been waiting in the exam room for 45 mins. I told him there were plenty of people who would pay to see him waiting for 45 mins in an exam room. 😂
LOL Herd. Not putting this on your ex or all docs, but when waited tables knew that a credit card with “MD” at the end was the kiss of death. But could have just been the docs who chose to put that on their credit card as an ego trip. Saw a lot of cards and never saw another degree listed on one.
He did that. Was a way to tell his personal card and business card apart.
no prob with these guys resting this one out.
The first game is max a series for the starters. I alsmot feel there is no reason to have any of the starters out there if you only are going to let them go one series. I kinda think Tanny should be out there a little more than normal because he needs some more game time stuff, but we also really need to let the backups duke it out so, cant take too much time away from them either.
I’m using this site.

THill roll out 15 to Stills 1St play 1St down
4th &1 1St down Drake
Ah the dreaded 3rd and long….
Hello darkness my old friend….
Fist Pump for you Tony!
Tannehill unfortunately looked like Tannehill on that first drive. Sheesh
That’s a pretty scatty offense. They were going gun on 2nd and 3 from our side of the field. Think this is what Gase always wanted.
a little rusty for Tannehill … that’s why god made pre season.
Holding penalty JK before 4th down conversion, drive ends with Sanders FG miss
Right over our shutdown corner first play. So much for that lol
LOOKS LIKE A HOME GAME FOR THE MARLINS!!! – – Less than 10,000 fannies in the stands at kickoff!!!
Lol Landry gets a taunting penalty his first catch
ok same ole stuff….no or minimal gain on 1st down and tannehill in accurate
And defense shredded
What was bad about the first series: 2 3rd and longs, an offensive penalty that damn near stalled a drive. We only came away with 3. Did not get the ball to any TE’s.
What was nice: We didn’t go 3 and out, we scored on the first possession. We had 5 mins TOP n the first drive. We rushed 4 times out of 11 plays (counting the penalty) and averaged over 5 YPC. We spread the ball around a good bit. Tanny didnt get hurt, and looked solid.
I think Tanny was solid for a guy who is in his first game in a year an a half….i know Steve.
I liked the way the offense was moving it. Looked interesting. The two penalties…..not so much.
He missed the FG we gave them the ball around the 45
WOW that defense sure is IMPROVED!!!!!!
SAD TRUTH–Bucs beat-up O-Line blew out Miami’s D-Line that drive.
HOPEFULLY, my FAU kicker will try Fins next kick. –Sanders looked awful in his first attempt. Did Ireland draft this Sanders for us?
LOL
Yeah Howard got burned twice that series, back to back.
Ballage looking good
That was one nice run , especially for a guy as big as him.

That would be on Gase, he called passes on every first down.
Landry is averaging 18 yards a catch in the Browns game, but they are still losing. 🙂
Fales for starter!!!
So how we doin? We suck or what?
Looks like last year so far so I guess suck
The season is over! We suck!
lol
Gotta love Grant. But then Wilson looked good on that drive too.
Damn Tyrod Taylor 5/5 99 yards, 1TD, Barkley is averaging over 8 YPC. They have a pretty good game going on over there.
Are the Browns playing the Dolphins?
Taylor only has numbers like that against us. lol
