Rebuilding and the Dolphins Coaching Search

So much drama surrounding the Dolphins Head Coach search, and also the with the philosophy of a rebuild here in Miami. First things first. Chris Grier, not Steve Ross will be choosing the new Head Coach. Grier is complete charge of football operations, and he’s the guy making the decisions. If you think Steve Ross will be meddling with the decision, that’s on you.

Is a rebuild such a bad thing? What really is a rebuild? I’d say there are probably a lot of different ways to rebuild something. If you replace the short block of an engine, that’s considered a rebuild, but the whole unit wasn’t rebuilt. I think for the Dolphins, what we’re going to do is not make the same mistakes we’ve made in the past few years. Flash back to 2015, when we signed Ndamukong Suh for a 6 YR $114M contract. Great player at a premium position, but we weren’t one player away, and honestly, Suh never flourished here. No more huge contracts for 1 player.

It’s more than just Suh though, it’s going for the quick fix. In 2017 when we lost Ryan Tannehill, we should have soldiered on with what we had, rather than pay Jay Cutler $10M. I wanted the quick fix, but it was selfish, and foolish, and it was a poor use of cap money. That’s what needs to change here. Getting rid of Mike Pouncey was a start in the right direction, and in the off season, the purge should continue. Robert Quinn ($12.9M), Andre Branch ($7M), Devante Parker ($9.4M) should all be purged. Cam Wake, who we all love shouldn’t even be considered for a re-sign. Let him go win a championship somewhere else.

Besides just outright cutting players, I think we should trade a couple of players. The most obvious one is Ryan Tannehill, and his market is completely undetermined. Not sure if we can recoup any more than a late round pick, like a 5th or later, but all it takes is one team that really wants him, and we can possibly do better. I know a couple of you here are tired of this one, but you guys aren’t focusing long term, you’re still fantasizing about success next season. I’d trade Reshad Jones for what I believe could be a 3rd RD pick to a team who needs that veteran presence and maybe is a player or 2 away from what they believe is a championship. It’s a minor cap savings, but we have 3 safeties in T.J. McDonald, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Reshad Jones, and T.J. won’t bring back the bounty of a 3rd RD pick. When you have numerous holes during a rebuild, you don’t keep a glut of talent at one position, it doesn’t make sense.

We’re trying to become a team that not only has a younger roster, but one that will have lots of cap space for flexibility. No more big FA contracts, and certainly no high priced FA contracts to older players. Quinn was a trade, but that 4th RD pick we gave to the Rams, plus the salary we had to pay Quinn was a loss for us. Maybe that’s part of the reason MTP is now banished from the kingdom.

As for the Head Coach, I don’t have a horse in this race. I like certain things about each of the candidates, but I don’t feel like any of them are the a clear cut choice. It’s probably silly to not want Brian Flores from the Patriots, but former Patriots coaches that left NE and became HC’s have had dreadful results. Romeo Crennel (28-55), Josh McDaniels (11-17), Matt Patricia (6-10), and Eric Mangini (33-47). Of course none of this means Brian Flores won’t succeed, but whatever qualifications any of those coaches had, the success of the New England Patriots is on the shoulders of Bill Belichick.

I love Darren Rizzi’s passion, fire, and respect the fact that his unit has been consistently very good. I don’t have a clue as to what his offensive and defensive philosophies are. They might be good ones, but we don’t know. Kris Richard was the defensive backs coach and then coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks for the “Legion of Boom” era. You have to love that. We don’t know what his plan is on offense, and we don’t know how he is at game planning and handling the entire roster. I feel that whatever HC we hire, it would be great if we could get some continuity going, but that requires patience. Would Ross accept 3 losing seasons and continue on for the sake of continuity?

Last night driving home, I was listening to Bill Polian, and unfortunately, just caught the tail end of the discussion, but what I did hear was Polian saying that teams like Dolphins, Bucs, Cardinals are in a pattern of failure, and are setting themselves up for such every time they make a coaching change. He’s right. We all hunger for it, yet each time we do it, it sets the team back a couple of years. The best teams like the Patriots, Steelers, Packers, Ravens have had the same Head Coach for 5 or more years, which keeps the same system in place, and allows a team to continue to build the roster with a particular style, rather than flushing players every few years that don’t match the new regimes style. Polian said what the Dolphins, Bucs are doing is a “Self fulfilling prophecy”. He’s right.

If we’re going to pick a Head Coach, I think we as fans have to try and be patient, but more importantly, Steve Ross does. He has to block out what the media wants, what the fans want, and just let the HC build something. In retrospect, I think we may have cut Gase too soon, although I didn’t like him, and hated the way he got along with players, maybe he deserved more time. Too late now, but hopefully this time, we don’t make that same mistake.

I REALLY like Kyler Murray! However — and as a lot of us have discussed — he’s too damn small to be a QB at the next level. Comparatively speaking, he’s MUCH smaller than even Drew Brees. He’s not going to be a QB in the NFL, IMO.

  2. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    TryPod – Take a deep breath. 🙂

  3. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I spoke to a Jets pal of mine. He’s defending Gase. He asked me what I thought, so I told him I hated the way he dealt with our players, and how our QB’s threw either at the LOS or usually no more than 10 yards past it. I told him maybe it was because of our QB’s. He was making excuses, saying Peyton manning loved him. I told him he didn’t have to do anything with Manning, so he gets no credit there.

  4. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – I can’t but you should listen to Joe Benigno tomorrow, he’s going to be freaking out. He hated Gase, and I’m pretty sure he said anyone but Gase. lol

  6. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

M – It was a pretty casual convo – I was just curious to take the temperature of a Jets fan, to see if he was happy, or angry. I’d bet he was surprised, he probably thought it was going to be McCarthy.

  7. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

We should tell Gase he can have Loggains for a 3rd RD pick. We’ll even throw Tannehill in the deal

  8. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Here’s something I think…

If we’re to outright abandon the ‘Wide-9’ (PLEASE, DO!), and do not bring a 3-4 DC… I think it’s time to part ways with Charles Harris. I mean, if Harris couldn’t get to the QB using his stellar and explosive “first-step” lining at the 9, WTF is he going to do in a traditional 4-3 when he must overpower a Tackle?

Cut bait. Trade him… ASAP. We might get a decent return.

    • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

No we need him, let a new coach and DC see what they think. He’s still young and playing on a rookie contract, too soon to give up.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The system is not that important. No matter what base, teams use multiple nickel and dime formations all the time. The Eagles run the Wide 9 and they’re a good defense. We didn’t even run the Wide 9 all the time. We were a 4-3 base and then nickel/dime like every other team. Execution!!!!

  9. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

    Offense:

    QB – desperate need
RB- in good shape with youth
TE- in good shape with youth and Golden Bear blood
WR – need a big, otherwise not too bad – Parker the big question
Line- sign James and have both tackles, need good young depth, get healthy

    Defense

DB- if Minkah is opposite X secondary is set with starters, McCain nickel, depth at CB
LB- in good shape with youth
DL- biggest need after QB, inside and out.

It doesn’t have to be a total blow up, get healthy, lose some bad contracts, be smart and keep adding talent.

    • naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

      I totally agree with this.

Prime needs are run stuffing DT and pass rushing DE and precision QB with the IT factor.

Other wise we are in pretty good shape.

Jets have even less talent than we did and a turnover machine at QB. Gase is a Jet so I can gladly pull for his complete and utter failure. NFL execs weren’t impressed by him either or his options would have been better than the Jets. Think about it. An average Big 12 coach who was just fired was considered a better pick in ‘Zona than Gase.

    Trypod,
I didn’t mean any offense. I have no opinion about Swinney or any of that stuff. As to paying students athletes, I have an opinion, but I respect the fact that others may disagree.

yeah me either .Trypod,.. I got off on the tangents only because those were the reasons the guy listed who wrote the article “stupid things Dabo says.” If there are other, stupider things Dabo says, I’d like to hear those, too.

I’m still in the euphoria of my team blasting Alabama out of the stadium for the national championship.

But I do not think Dabo or any person on earth is perfect.

But when his mother who had polio became homeless, he let her sleep in his apartment while he was a walk-on college football player trying to make the team.

And he’s a really great bad dancer, which I admire and many Christians are not.

    • TryPod's avatar TryPod says:

Not the least bit offended by either of you. I could be accused of being a little dramatic- but that’s nothing new around this place. For the record, I am not in favor of paying college players, primarily because there is no mechanism in place to make it practical for all athletes. However, I also am not a fan of people making millions off the sweat and sacrifice of others who will likely never see a scintilla of the amount being generated. And I don’t like Swinney. Lol.

let Harbaugh play out his 2019 contract with the Ravens and let rizzi be interim for 1 year, better than giving the Ravens 2 #1s, we’re not going anywhere in 2019 with or without Harbaugh anyway.

  16. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Boomer and Gio on NY radio were spinning the crap out of the Gase hire. I can’t find the article, but they said Mando wrote an article that outlined why Gase was let go, and it seemed to contradict everything we’ve heard. They said that Gase told them at the end of this season that we need to rebuild, but Ross didn’t want that, so they fired him. WTF is that? Anyone see that article?

  17. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    With the jests hiring Gase
Does that give Flores an edge

He’s schemed against the bills offense last year
    The Gase offense
And knows the cheats very well

    Just something worth considering

  18. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Could not agree more with Son on this, or at least did before we fired Gase. Now the big Q is QB. Hard to win a race without a driver. And if we are gonna develop one, then might as well blow it up some cause and look to to when the new driver will be ready.

  20. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

A Jet fan called in and asked Boomer about the Dolphins players that were saying if Gase comes back as HC that they wanted to be traded. Boomer answers with this “There was a line of players waiting outside Gase’s office when he was fired waiting to shake his hand and say goodbye, including Ryan Tannehill. I think it was more like Ryan Tannehill was there, and was crying because he knew no other HC would have that kind of devotion to him.

I would rather keep tannehill and draft QBs, 1 this year and 1 the year after, with thrnplan to part ways with Tannehill by 2020

You don’t need to be desperate to oust Tannehill bc you know he’s not your franchise
He still has value as an experienced veteran

That’s honestly the type of guy you want holding down the fort while a rookie is groomed

It’s one thing if some one offers value

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Could not agree with you more Pig, at least as to that being an option. Tanny is not bad…. he is just not all that good. And if a young pup didn’t work out (always a chance of that), Tanny would still be there. Only problem is his price, especially after next season.

    • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

He needs to go. Bad message to send to this team imo. I feel it’s a must to move on. Personally I think Grier said that to Ross and that’s why he got the keys to the franchise.

  33. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The only problem with keeping Tannehill is he will be a dead man walking
It’s really a year or 2 too late

But that said, a veteran QB with experience has value when you are bringing in a new guy

I expect Tannehill to yield trade value
So I think the question is whether some one offers something worth parting with that veteran

He is what he is – average

Yes – it’s not a good idea to invest in him or build around him

But now he is one of the pieces building around our next franchise QB
It’s temporary but I think he’s got a role for us:
And it’s either to get valuable draft picks or hold down the fort some one else

If you lasted the last few years watching him
You can last half a season more…lol

      • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

If wants to get paid based on one season, then he can’t get $15M. I’d say with the usual salary bumps that happens every year, $12-13M would be fair for one good productive season, also considering he missed 4 games.

  40. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

A Jet fan just called WFAN saying that when Tannehill went down this year Gase had one of the worst starting QBs in the league in Osweiler and won 4-5 games in a row. Hmmm… I must have missed that. Someone tell him it was 2-3. LOL

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Making the pro bowl and 2nd team all pro with 11 INTs in his last 18 games does put him in that range. Good corners get paid.

So Howard wants $15 mil a year. We don’t even have a coach yet and his agent is suspended till March (and same one Landry had). Guess can’t blame a guy under contract for trying to make a living though…. even if makes me wonder how much Howard would be worth in a trade.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    ———————————————-
If he balls out next year, id do 13-14mil. He’s good but he has had games where he got roasted. I think he is worth paying top money too but im with those that believe he needs another year to prove himself worthy of a long term contract of that size.

I am also kind of nervous with the all eggs in one basket contracts. Thats a big chunk of money with McCain’s already pretty sizeable contract and someone like Fitzpatrick to follow up Howard in a couple more years after. Jones with his big contract. TJ with his not little contract, thats already a lot of money in the secondary.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Even if I might get hit on cause he was a Yet — Revis Island deserved best money in the NFL to build a CB resort. Howard ain’t close to that at this point much as I like his play. If he gets top money is based on his age and potential.

  46. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

    Mike E

With the new rookie QB most likely coming in and not making QB money……I say pay the man long term and lock him up now. CBs are only going to get more expensive. Let’s for once get ahead of it and sign a player that actually can become one of the best at his position

  47. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

OK, I was just looking at 2019, the average annual for the top is $15M, that’s Josh Norman, then there are a few below that in the 14’s

  48. D's avatar D says:

Its not necessarily about matching up to what another player was when they had top money, its about being at the right place at the right time. If Howard is the best CB available his FA year, he’s going to be able to demand top money. Now it might not be highest paid money but its going to be close to what the top CB is making. Its law of supply and demand, and so far the demand to get the top player always seems to be there, so the money is too.

  49. D's avatar D says:

If our DC runs a system that relies on S more than CB the desire to retain him might not be as strong, we will know what WE should offer him when the people inside the building that know what he is worth to us sit down and talk about it. I know what I think he is worth, but im not sure about what our next DC will. Maybe if the HC is Kris Richards we will back a truck up, i think he would fit what he might want to do, but there might be Bieneimy might defer to his DC and whomever that may be might play a more zone system with two FS’s, who knows

Howard is able to be extended this new league year. I say do it ASAP. Gonna rebuild…have a cornerstone of the D already in place.

  53. D's avatar D says:

Its usually better to negotiate with a player while you have a couple years left on their contract since you have the upper hand in the negotiations. He isnt available to anyone else, and he cant compare himself to someone who may or may not be a FA the same time as him. He doesn’t have a ton of leverage to stand on, just what he thinks he is worth. Id probably start playing a numbers game with him, show him you are interested in retaining him, show him you think he is worth it but not really come close to his number right now. Just put yourself in a position to negotiate and not offend him.

  54. D's avatar D says:

I voted for Brian Flores just to hopefully keep us from being jinxed.

    TREVOR LAWRENCE QB CLEMSON!

  57. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike Francesa just said based on a source he believes to be very reliable, that Ross wasn’t firing Gase but he wanted changes made to the direction of the team and Gase gave him some lip saying he can coach anywhere in the league. So Ross eventually gave him that opportunity. Gase basically pushed himself out.

    • D's avatar D says:

I could see that as how it went down for sure.

      • D's avatar D says:

I definately get the feeling from how Ross held himself and answered some of the questions in the presser that Gase has rubbed him the wrong way and he was trying to remain diplomatic. I took it as Gase and TBaum probably didnt own that neither of them were putting together a team with cohesion and an identity and Ross was tired of the finger pionting. I can see both guys being that type of dude.

    • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

Gase and Ross wanted to go in different directions, Gase was in win now mode and Ross wanted to reset, or so he said.

  58. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

That’s right folfs, after building a great offensive and defensive line the last two years the Miami Dolphins get their future QB in Lawrence

  59. D's avatar D says:

If its Richard, then we might know by Sunday. I dont see the Cowboys beating the Rams. If its Allen we may have to wait until after the Superbowl, same for Flores or Bieniemy

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

If Dallas can run the ball, Dak makes key completions and their defense plays a big game I think they can beat the Rams.

  60. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Sounds like Ross made the right decision.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

If I am Ross — no way do I take lip from my HC, least not when he is off a 6 win season and on his way to a 7 win one. For starters….. it is just a stupid move by someone like Gase. What happens when you are not there?

  61. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

D, I think that’s why Tannenbaum and Gase are out because they were not in rebuild mode and Grier probably felt that’s what needed to happen. Grier said he has a pretty clear vision on how a team needs to be built. In the GM position he held, he said in the past his job was to find players Gase wanted. That didn’t necessarily mean build it the right way.

  62. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    “I can coach anywhere!”

    Anywhere = The Jets. DOH!

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

If he wins with the Jets he’ll be a God. If he loses he’ll be just another failure their fans will suffer through. LOL

      • ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Hes not going to win. His offense is flawed. He doesnt care about defense either. I am all aboard the hate train for him now. LOL

      • D's avatar D says:

Yeah its a pretty safe job for him. Failing there isnt anything new. Might be why he took the job with us too though lol

  63. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike Francesa just said that the Jim Harbaugh rumors of him leaving Michigan was created by someone trying to hurt his recruiting. Harbaugh said time and time again he’s not leaving Michigan.

  64. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Maybe I should change my vote from Colonpokey to Richards.
I think there are some good pieces on D for him to work with. Offensive coaches haven’t panned out so let’s try a defensive one.

  65. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The Wide 9 is not the problem. We also didn’t run the Wide 9 all the time. Teams use multiple fronts regardless of base scheme. It’s about executing. We also had a lot of young players on defense still finding their way. We’ve got some good young core guys on defense to build on.

    • D's avatar D says:

The wide 9 is heavily dependent on your players execution, its an individual talent based system, so if ya dont have the right guys you shouldn’t be running it because its vulnerable if you dont have the players that can execute it. My problem wasn’t with the wide 9, it was with their insistence on it despite the obviously failures each week. The system obviously works, as some of the best defenses in recent memory were wide 9.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Any system you run is dependent on your players executing. There is no hiding on a football field. Teams that have to play to cover their weaknesses don’t go anywhere. We did that on offense the last 3 seasons.

      • D's avatar D says:

Where our wide 9 broke down is no true 1 tech DT, we had Phillips until we shit canned him, but he was freelancing a bit while he was here which also causes that system to break down. It takes a good 1 tech for wide 9 to work. We also didn’t have a good MLB for the wide 9. You want to see a good wide 9 MLB look at Bobby Wagner….near perfect fit as a wide 9 MLB. We dont have anything close, which makes the middle really weak. What we had the best personnel for was for a gap penetration 4-3 with 2 3-tech DT’s and two 5-tech DE’s. in my opinion.

  66. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

    Well shit.

  67. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike Francesa is interviewing Bruce Arians right now. The reason he took the Tampa Bay job was he hit it off with ownership, he has a relationship with the GM and he likes Winston as a QB. Now he has Bowles as his DC and he thinks very highly of him.

  68. D's avatar D says:

Tim my point was wide 9 puts a lot more pressure on individual players. Some systems are solid team systems. Something you should do when your talent is kind of spread around. All of it does require execution of course, but some are really dependent on certain players plying at elite levels.

  69. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

D, I think McMillan started to play better as the season went on. But at that point we were playing DL off the street. He had to gain confidence in his knee and go through a learning curve in basically his first NFL season. I think he’ll be a much better LB next season.

    • D's avatar D says:

Yeah i definately saw improvement as the year went and there were some plays toward the end of the year that were very nice. This was pretty much his rookie year so ill give him that and eval next year as a more critical eval.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah he finished with 105 tackles, 2 FF, 1 FR, 5 TFL but only 1 PD and no INTs. Coverage is part of the game he needs to improve on. He probably won’t ever be great in coverage but he could get better. McMillan will be a much more confident player in 2019. The same with Baker.

  70. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

We’re gonna go 2-14 next season, but we’re going to thrash the Jets twice. 🙂

  71. D's avatar D says:

  72. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Had an Anthony Fasano sighting two days ago. He’s a real estate agent now. He’s got the listing on a place in my building and was sitting on the bench in the lobby waiting for someone to show the it to. Or maybe it was not a sighting cause had no clue cause the dude at the desk told me he was there next time around. Was all like on the board talking about Gase getting fired though, which means he probably listened while he waited and put me down as another big-mouthed fan.

Yeah and I didn’t realize until recently that Byron Leftwich is an up and coming coach and will be the OC after serving in that role with ARZ last year.

When Gase brought in Loggains as OC and reassigned Clyde as a player development coach, that seems to be something he’s good at. I heard Arians on the radio today and he said he likes Winston’s ability but what they need to do is clean up his game. He can move the ball up and down the field but he’ll make some errant throws so they want to eliminate those.

The Bucs are going to be good sooner than later.

Lots of guys have great years in their contract years. It always worries me when guys ball out in their contract years. I’d prefer to see Howard do it more than a part of a year. But, we really don’t have much choice. He’s gonna get a big contract from somebody. The injury history has to be considered too.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Howard isn’t in a contract year. He also was pretty damn good all season and started to really show his talent at the end of last season. So it was more than part of a season. There were games when he didn’t get a pick but WRs caught only one or two passes for little yardage. I think he’s the real deal. He was voted the team MVP, made the pro bowl and was 2nd team all pro. He’s trying to cash in and you can’t blame him. Players only have a window or two to cash in and like you said, he’s going to get it from some team at some point. He’s still young and ascending.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Meant to saying wasn’t in a contract year this season. He’s looking to get an extension before his contract year. Just like Reshad got before his first contract year.

  82. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m more taken back by the term nutmeger than tag sale

But they are both equally unacceptable

  83. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m not sure how I’d go about handling Xavien Howard’s demand/request right now. Part of me wants to see more, part of me wants to reward him, and part of me doesn’t trust such a demand/request after year 3 of a rookie contract.

Will he ‘quit’ on us after he gets paid? Can he be trusted to stay healthy when 2 out of the 3 years he’s been here, he’s missed time being hurt? Will he become a malcontent if we don’t give him a new contract before the ’19 season?

And it’s just our luck that ‘Bilbo Baggins’ is Xavien’s agent, SMH.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Why would he quit? He wants to be the best corner in the league and one of the best of all time. His knee issues are a concern though but we also saw Frank Gore overcome multiple season ending injuries in college and some issues early on in his NFL career and play until he was 35.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

That’s good player speak, but we’ve seen other players over the years cash in and then just go through the motions afterward.

I know nothing about Xavien the person or what’s in his heart. Hopefully our evaluators know him well enough to make the right decision. That’s all I’ve got.

  84. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

M13, I’ve watched Howard interviewed multiple times. The reason he got better is because he realized he had to put more time into film study and not just rely on physical skills like he did in college. The guy loves football. He’s a very good corner and a great tackler – very physical too. Oh and yeah, he’s a BALLHAWK!!! 😉

  85. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I’m in an absolute holding pattern until we know who our HC (and his coordinators) is going to be.

  86. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’ll say this once again, when we’re up if no trade up or down, take the BPA at #13. We can add talent at any position except maybe Safety at this time.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Chances are the bpa will be at a position of need

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Pretty much. It’s not like the draft ends after the 1st rd. You can address lots of positions. I don’t think a rebuild takes that long if you have some good young foundation players and I think we do.

And if ya disagree with him on his opinions, YOU are the one who’s wrong, at fault, and an instigator.
