Dolphins go to 0-5 – Look even uglier in person at Fest game

Well, thanks to the Dolphins generous defense, we managed to make RB Adrian Peterson look like AP circa 2014. Peterson ran over and around our defense to the tune of 118 yards on 23 carries for a healthy 5.1 YPC. That’s more than half his season output. Ah, it wasn’t just the defense that smelled bad, the offense was worse. Josh Rosen looked confounded by the Redskins pass rush and wasn’t up to the task on Sunday. I have no problem with Coach Flores naming Rosen the starter and then pulling him from the game. Just because he named him the starter doesn’t mean he’s not accountable for his play. He was awful and deserved to be pulled, and for what it was worth, Fitzpatrick handled the offense better than Rosen. We all knew this season was going to be ugly but many of us thought the Dolphins had a decent shot to beat the Redskins in our house.

Now the schedule becomes difficult again with a trip north to Buffalo. Buffalo’s defense is heads and shoulders better than the Redskins so that game in Orchard Park will be even more challenging for young Josh Rosen. Hopefully our game plan has him up to speed. This past week it was RB Mark Walton who got some action and he looked pretty good doing so. Drake and Ballage both took a back seat to Walton in production as Walton lead the team with 75 yards rushing and receiving combined. Drake got more action in the 2nd half with Fitzpatrick as the short passing game was used often. I saw us using 6 OL a few times to no avail, and I also multiple TE formations. Our O-line is bad folks, and it may look worse against an aggressive Bills defense.

Hey, whaddaya know, our defense got no sacks this past week! No Taco time? Charles Harris remains sackless! Read that as you like. 🙂 I realized the most painful thing about watching the game in the stadium is you can’t change the channel on the 4 big screens. Oh how I wished that I could!

GO DOLPHINS!

  1. i know what You mean Mike, I cant handle the Dolphin games in person anymore either, this truly is the worst team in the NFL

Dolphins are tattoed with L on their foreheads from the top to the bottom, tickets should be free IMO

  2. dolphins are the dumpster behind the fruit stand, rotten and attracting insects , lol

the owners, coaches, and players are not NFL talent, and look like they are way in over their heads,

even the 2020 draft cant fix all of this, this team is years away from being able to compete

And on the flip side. Maybe the attitude is asking Drake to decide if he wants to be part of the future or not.

“A source with direct knowledge said the Dolphins actually have shown interest in recent weeks in giving Drake a contract extension beyond this season. There have been conversations between the Dolphins and Drake’s representation.”

Yeah the Skins weren’t suppose to be this bad. Everyone knows what we’re doing. But some other teams who were not supposed to be bad are having very disappointing seasons.

Even though a few of us knew that Kenyan Drake was the next man up… er, to be gone, it still doesn’t sit well with me. However, I’m happy that it’s amicable to both the organization and Drake’s camp.

For whatever the reason, we just can’t seem to retain a decent ‘homegrown’ RB.

We’ve only ever had 2 natty draft picks to ever rush for over 4,000 career yards with us: “The Sundance Kid” and Ronnie Brown. Remember, Ricky was drafted by Ditka with the Saints. And even the great Mercury Morris fell shy of 4,000 rushing yards with us.

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

In the end Ajayi was a cock bag & Drake is an explosive yet limited talent. I will say Drake & Miami have handled everything the right way on both parts. I think a Taylor or Dillon in the draft will be what Miami looks for at the RB spot.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I hear ya, man… but I think getting our O-Line fixed could pave the way for an UDFA RB to go for over 1,000 yards. Ya know, the way the Broncos used to be able to do under Kubiak/Gibbs (no credit to Mike Shanadouche as the HC). Just sayin’… 🙂

And if we don’t get that O-Line of ours fixed going into next year, we won’t be able to adequately eval the new QB… which is problematic right now when Josh Rosen is under Center.

Fix the O-Line, and it opens up both the running game and passing game.

  25. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

With all the stories and questions about this Dolphins team thus far, what a lot of people are leaving out is this was the plan that Grier mapped out and Ross signed off on. Turn over the roster and start a new with $100+M in cap space and three 1’s and two 2’s along with some other picks, trades UDFAs etc. to work with in 2020. Nothing has changed. We’re just worse than some of us thought we’d be. The game plan is still the same. Next year’s team is going to be very different.

    • Phindog's avatar Phindog says:

Stop making sense!! 😆🐕. You all wanted to blow it up and when we do you bitch about losing games. Can’t have it both ways. This tear down will take a couple years to be good.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I agree… except you might have been the only one who thought we could end up going to the playoffs, despite trading all of our best players! LOL 😀

That stated(!), I want to do this system reset per the “game plan”, as you just stated. And I even recall you saying after the loss last week, that it certainly looked like we weren’t trying to win what with going for 2-points, combined with that lousy play call.

WE HAVE A PLAN (*wink, wink!!!)!!! 🙂

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

David said we can be a playoff team, now we’re the worst team ever!!!! LOL

Yes, going for 2 last week at the end raised my brow. We’ll compete every week but winning is not the goal. It is a subtle thing. 😉

But that is the result of a rebuild. It’s about looking for players who fit the future. We’ve all been talking about it for months. LOL

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Yep….they publicly announced it before the SB…..and now people are shocked with their plan

  26. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m sorry, but I remember nearly EVERYBODY on here talking SMACK about the beat reporters who stated that we’re tanking this year. And as Dbolt just stated above, YES, the team publicly announced it before the SB.

    NOT ME.

And if ya didn’t realize that we were tanking after we traded Tunsil [YES(!!!), that trade was TOO good to pass up, sincerely(!!!)], and STILL talked smack about the beat reporters (Omar doesn’t count as a beat reporter… because he can’t even count)… I don’t want to hear that ya just recently had some kind epiphany that we’re tanking.

YES, our current players are playing their hearts out! There is NO tanking on the side of any player on any team… this has been orchestrated well above the players (FO). Now then… Coach Flo had better do a better job than what he’s done.

    • Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

I they writes like a arrogant prick!
and talk like a arrogant prick!

Then they are probably a arrogant prick! 😉

  27. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Once again Omar trying to twist the knife in Dolfans fans. Uhhhmmm… the Chiefs were winning 20-6 when Moore came in and they won 27-6. Okay! One pass? Moore sucks as a full game QB. STOP!!!! LOL

  28. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

M13, tanking is a dirty word. It’s a negative. Why are you hung up on this? The talent isn’t there. Even our best players have been hurt and the lineup changes week to week. It’s the result of a blowup. Why is everyone into drama? Now you can’t even rebuild your team without accusations. It’s nuts!!!

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I call a spade a spade. Forget the connotation of a word. Actions speak louder than words. You are what your record says you are. Stats tell half the story (but look at ours this year).

Brother, we’re not trying to win (tanking IS a dirty word, but I’m not PC). I’m not hung up on this, I’m trying to WIN by FOLLOWING THE PLAN. It’s alright to lose a battle in order to win the war. 1-step back in order to go 2-steps forward. It’s all chess…

PROPS to my guys Rhino and Phelon, who I KNOW dig this song!

  29. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

We signed Ryan Fitzpatrick, being we lost out on Teddy Bridgewater. There were very few vet QBs available after Bridgewater (now 4-0) had scorned us.

Then, we traded a 2nd rounder for Josh Rosen — hoping we could turn him into the player he was drafted to be — being the Kingsbury-led Cards and Kyler Murray were to be reunited.

Then, we traded Laremy Tunsil (and the knee-taker Stills) to the Texans. It was a solid trade with what we got in return, but…

I said it a several days ago and I’ll say it again: Fitzpatrick and Rosen HAD to have felt thrown under the bus after the Tunsil trade. I mean, how the FUNK are we to eval Rosen under these circumstances now? And, Fitz didn’t sign up for THIS!

I’m sorry, but I feel our FO is dysfunctional, and for the rationale I just stated. I realize that nobody can predict the unpredictability of the biz, but please stick to a plan, for crying out loud. Thus — and in hindsight — we never should have spent a 2nd rounder on Josh Rosen… who has now been benched due to a pizz-poor supporting cast (see our O-Line), in favor of Fitz (who had been benched a couple of weeks ago in favor of Rosen)… and now we won’t be able to see tangible growth in Rosen.

Welcome to Miami, folks. At least we’re still winless, in order for the full system reset to be on schedule.

  30. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

M13, I know what we did. You forgot we looked at Jacoby Brissett and Tyrod Taylor as well. Flowers, Clowney etc. The hunt for good players started this year. Not everything comes to fruition.

We tore this team down to the frame and said now what? What are we going to build? We already knew what 2019 was going to be. There might be a dozen or even less players on this team next year than what we have now. It’s an ABSOLUTE cleansing.

We’ve already been told the top pick is Tua or bust. What if it’s Edge Chase Young? What if Grier and Flores want to build a big time defense first and then find their QB. Know what I mean?

Build from the ground up and go from there. Then I see people say draft two QBs and let them compete. Right? Have no conviction on either and just do that. LOL

Next time someone says blow it up, think about what that means.

I am happy with the decisions the team is making. I may be disappointed as a fan with seeing high end talent leave, but I see their logic in those moves. At some point, you may want to consider going a different direction.

I do not enjoy watching terrible football from our team, but it’s what I expected when they said we were rebuilding. It sucks, but, hopefully, it will lead to sustained success. If it doesn’t in a few years, then they screwed the pooch. We’ll all find out.

I don’t think we pursued Clowney as much as Houston tried to sell him!

    It’s a whatever year!

So as I understand, Phindog was once again jammin’, and he was stellar as usual. This jam’s dedicated to Doggy!

      Oh I dig that.
Yeah Doggy does a great job, plays a lot of fun stuff and anyone who feels like singing sings. Lot of fun.

The guitar shredded his arm, then he busted his ass falling down, while saving the guitar. The gig is tough on him but he’s a gamer.

    Cool band from the 90’s.

We also learned this Fest that Twice can pick a bunch and has this kind of style.

It’s MOST RARE for a musical genius such as Prince (RIP) to allow someone else to tinker with his own music. Well. Prince did just that, handing the reigns to my man SHOCK-G to reproduce “Love Sign” for him…

Just for some clarity in case people are down on Brian Flores.
    1st year as Head Coach:
    Bill Walsh 2-14
    Bill Parcells 3-12-1
    Bill Belichick 6-10

No Flores isn’t a Bill, but his first name does start with a ‘B’. LOL

Here’s another one from my man Shock-G. The legendary Bobby Brown with legendary producers Teddy Riley and Louis Silas Jr wanted him to reproduce “Get Away” for the remix album. Turned out pretty well!
