It sure doesn’t look like Brian Flores is satisfied with remaining in the #4 spot of draft. In fact, he’s furious that we didn’t fall down a spot or two. I think we’re all to be objective about it, there was definitely contact early there, but these things happen often and there doesn’t seem to be a consistent way that they call them. As soon as they signed off from the Dolphins game the Ravens vs Bills broadcast came on and immediately Ravens DB Marcus Peters breaks up a pass intended for WR John Brown. In doing so Peters arrives early and has one hand on the shoulder pad and then swipes with his other arm and knocks the ball away. It was eerily similar and there was no call on the field. There was no review either. Earlier in the game there was another call that I believe went our way. Jets LB James Burgess was called for holding on Albert Wilson and it looked like he barely touched him. That was the play the ball appeared to be intercepted and run back for a defensive TD. As it turns out Burgess never actually made the catch and the TD wouldn’t have counted, but I didn’t think there was any holding on the play. Things even out usually, I’m not crying over the penalty at the end.
As some of you were discussing here, Ryan Fitzpatrick set a franchise record for rushing yards in a game with 65 yards. It’s correct, I looked. David Woodley’s highest rushing total in a game was 58, it was the season opener in the 1981 season, oddly enough against the Jets. The Dolphins finished with over 100 yards rushing for the 2nd time this season, the other was against Buffalo 10/20. Of course the fact that our QB led us in rushing continues to be a bad sign for our running backs. Laird topped Dolphins RB’s with 48 yards on 15 carries for a paltry 3.2 average.
DeVante Parker, our version of the Phoenix was grounded yesterday with a concussion. Isaiah Ford did what he could, but the offense wasn’t the same without Parker. Gesicki was shut down and much of that had to do with some poor accuracy from Fitzgerald. He was off the mark with quite a few throws, throwing with too much pace, throwing too high and throwing behind. It happens, but it wasn’t a great day for Fitz.
The sleepy one, Andrew Van Ginkle woke up and recorded his first NFL sack. Kicker Jason Sanders hit on of 7 of 8 FG attempts, and the miss was due to a bad snap, not his fault. In addition, his kickoffs are routinely deep, so Sanders looks like a keeper.
Next game on the schedule is against the NY Giants, who of course share the same stadium in New Jersey with the Jets. Eli Manning will be the QB once again as he gets to have his farewell tour for the next 3 games. QB Daniel Jones is injured and won’t play the rest of the season. The Giants have Saquon Barkely and the beginnings of a strong D-line with Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams, formerly of the NY Jets. Injuries have riddled the Giants offense, they haven’t had their full compliment of receivers all season. Golden Tate was suspended 4 games and then later battled minor injuries. Sterling Shepard battled concussions and worst for the Giants, TE Evan Engram has been out for the last few weeks with a foot injury. If we can stop Saquon, we have a good shot in this one.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Dont know what was on the board at 22,23 so its possible i might would have selected differently there, BUT its a pretty awesome draft and would certainly improve our team significantly.
I really don’t have a favorite for 22, 23!
I usually pick the best CB left, and maybe badass, or if Delpit is still there?
I would really like to leave the draft with at least two of the UGA OL and specifically Kindley and Thomas. The rest, as long as they improved our team would really just be icing for me.
Top tier OT!
Top tier CB
Top tier EDGE
1 of the top 4 RB’s
C, G, FS, ETC
Never Forget
I am loving Pirate Pig
Ken,
Well, if it all starts with the OL as everybody likes to say, then they have to get some blame when a team struggles. But, my point really was that it’s really never just one player or unit that causes a team to win….or lose. It’s a team game and usually a team effort in both directions. Having a good….or even really good….OL doesn’t guarantee success.
But it sure doesn’t hurt!
They might have a winning if they played some defense
#1 yardage offense. #1 in passing. #9 in scoring. #10 in rushing. #2 in owner interference. #4 in douchabaggery. #2 in coach with the ruddiest face. Tied for #1 in hottest cheerleaders.
LOL at Kong
Randy, when you watch a team struggling to run the ball and the QB is being pressured most of the time and sacked a few times, I think you can determine that the OL is struggling.
Or the 37 yr old QB is the leading rusher. Hell, any QB outside of Jackson shouldn’t be the leading rusher and honestly, neither should he. He’s one of those aberrations that can lead to superbowls if you find and use him properly.
The Cowboys problem isn’t their offensive line, although they have had some injuries there. Their defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone.
Their offense also struggles to score until it’s too late. They fall behind early a lot lately.
It’s not the O-line’s fault though. They have a 1000 yard rusher and receiver already.
I’m not saying it’s the OL. They may have yardage numbers but they struggle to score.
Ok, my point is being lost. My bad. I’m not explaining myself well. I don’t think our OL has played well other than 2016 for a long time. No argument there. My point is that a good OL doesn’t correlate to a successful team. It’s a team sport and you don’t win unless pretty much everyone plays well. So, I think the impact on a team’s success by the OL is only so much….just like pretty much any unit other than maybe QB….hence it gets a little overplayed. Absolutely we need to improve the OL. I just think there are plenty of other things that need to be addressed for us to become a solid, viable perpetual playoff team too. I’m the one who’s been advocating to ALWAYS improve our OL thru signings and draft picks for decades, dammit! Lol
***
Also, as Tim suggested, it’s hard to build a good OL. There is a ton of bad OL play across the league….maybe more than I remember ever seeing.
I agree with you. If you see my posts from last night I said we need good players across the board. But trench play is still paramount.
I object!
Tim – It’s very strange when teams don’t score that have the O-line talent they have, Ezekiel Elliot and Amari Cooper.
Agreed. They also have a lot of talent on defense and they’re struggling too. I thought they would be a much better team than they have been.
It’s because coaching matters.
True, what else is left as a reason?
Randy – It’s all Tannehill’s fault! 🙂
MikeE,
Lol. Oh Jahn. No!
The Ravens continuing what they’ve been doing all year.
Jests continuing to suck too
Jets hanging in there though.
LOL… what timing!
Too early to not kick the FG there. That’s something you do down by two TDs late in the 3rd quarter.
Well how this panned out, that’s at least 6 lost points for the Jets. I understand they had the Ravens pinned deep when they went for it on 4th down and stopped them to setup that last drive. But you get as many points as you can in the 1st half.
It’s become a trend in the league. Teams leave too many points on the field. Teams often go for 2 too early in the game as well, IMO. Then you end up chasing points. IMO you shouldn’t go for 2 until the 4th quarter unless you’re down like 4 scores ala the Pets in the SB.
Agreed.
Darnold is a turnover machine
If the Ravens score here and they probably will, game over.
Ding! LOL
Wow!!!
Le’Veon Bell is the story of my failed fantasy team. I probably should have moved on from him a long time ago, but it’s hard to find a guy that could potentially make the impact he could. He never did this season.
Wow ER, you’re off to a pretty good start, eh? SHEESH!
Think a lot of FF champs are gonna have Lamar Jackson behind center this year.
Yup
I told you that in my article! LOL
I knew the Giants were going to give Eli at least 1 more home game
What are you Nosromikus now? 😉
When thinking about the Bengals and the draft. It will be interesting to see what they do in free agency. They will have around 50 mil in cap space. If they feel they are close to competing, do they go out and sign one of the older vet QB’s like Rivers or Manning? I think Brady and Brees don’t use the void option in their contracts and stay where they are at. Do they sign one of the younger free agent QB’s like Tannehill, Bridgewater, Mariota, Winston, or Keenum? I think Presott stays with Dallas. Do they trade for a vet QB like Newton, Foles, or Flacco? Flacco will be hard for Denver to trade, IMO. If Rosen is not seeing the field at this point in the season (I know they are fielding the best players to try and win, but…), could we package him in part of a trade with the Bengals to move up?
Do you think they could go with one of these scenarios and pass on Joe Burrow?
We have the cards to move up if we want no matter what. And we could send Rosen as part of a deal, but what’s he worth now? Low 2nd last time around…. a 3rd or 4th now?
And the Bengals might pass on Burrows, but thinking will only be because of a hefty trade package. We would make sense though if they value someone other than Burrows more than we do. Doubt they bring in a vet as the savior, but might as a get by guy so they can cash in.
Wyo – If I say something in an article you can bet on it. Just don’t bet a lot! 🙂
Gase making more friends!
LOL @ Fales
I didn’t realize Fales is only 16 years old.
BBM – Burrows is an Ohio kid, he’s the Bungles next QB
I did know that fact.
didn’t
RIP Danny Aiello: too many movies to pick a favorite:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/people.com/movies/danny-aiello-dies-at-86/amp/
Ahhh, bummed. One of my favorite supporting actors.
RIP
Sad to hear. Very good actor. RIP
Mike E
Its bittersweet. I’m going against Lamar in my $$ league…not looking good! LOL
Doh!!
I think the culture Flores has instilled in Miami will be attractive to quite a few free agents. It will be very interesting to see who we target. I don’t think it will be any QB’s but was looking at the UFA’s coming up. Here are a few in areas of need I think we look at (I went by Bleacher report top 50 and left off players over 30): Not sure about injuries on any of them except Clowney who may need minor offseason surgery.
OG Brandon Scherff, WAS, 28
OG Joe Thuney, NE 27
OT Jack Conklin, TN 26
OT DJ Humphries, AZ 26
3-4 DE/OLB Jadaveon Clowney, SEA 27
3-4 DE Chris Jones, KC 27
3-4 DE Michael Brockers, LAR 29
4-3 DE Avik Armstead, SF 26
4-3 DE Yannick Ngahoue, JAX 25
3-4 OLB Bud Dupree, PITT 27
3-4 OLB Shaq Barrett, TB 27
3-4 OLB Matthew Judon, BALT 27
3-4 OLB Dante Fowler, LAR 26
CB Marcus Peters, Balt 27
CB Byron Jones, DAL 27
CB James Bradberry, CAR 27
CB Eli Apple, NO 25
S Clinton Ha Ha Dix, CHI 27
DT Michael Peirce, BALT 27
DT DJ Reader, HOU 27
Several of these players could drastically change who we target in the draft. Any stand out to you as possibilities or personal wants?
Scherff, Conklin and tre Waynes (not on your list)
Did someone say pass rush?
Would have kept Wake if we wanted old dudes who were over the hill.
Giants favored by 3.5
The worst part about losing to the stinking Jest was a win would have tied the series record at 54-54-1. Instead we are still down two at 53-55-1. Hopefully we get that corrected next year with the season sweep.
Miami finishing 3-13 with losses to the Giants, Bengals and Patriots would position the Dolphins somewhere between 1 and 4 in the pick order. Miami giving a win to the Giants would pull Miami into a tie with New York but the Giants will still own a strength of schedule tiebreaker and would need to defeat the Washington Redskins to fall behind Miami. But Washington also owns a strength of schedule tiebreaker against the Dolphins and if the Redskins lost to New York, they’d likely pick second ahead of the Dolphins even if Miami loses out.
The most likely scenario for Miami in a scenario in which the team loses out would be to be picking 3rd in the 2020 NFL Draft behind the Cincinnati Bengals and whoever loses between the Giants and Redskins in Week 16. From there, the Dolphins can have their pick of any play not named Joe Burrow or Chase Young.
Strength of schedule SHOULD NOT be higher than head to head in determining draft order damnit!
I think we win 2 of 3 and pick at #6 selecting DT Derrick Brown, Auburn.
and YES, head to head should count more than SOS.
That not a bad pick at 6. I really like him for us as well. I think he and Wlkins side by side would be a really awesome and cheap DL. Resign Taco, add a guy like Chasson, or Zuniga in the 2nd-3rd ish round
BBM,
As far as FA’s, im probably most interested in Scherff, Ngakoue, Fowler and Dupree. Lots of good players on that list though, but id rather see those 4 on our team than any of the others. All will be expensive but we have the space for more than one of them.
D, I agree with those you named. I was also thinking maybe a CB as well. With the number of CB’s they have been churning though tells me that position is high on their list.
I dont think that where a prospect is from really weighs heavily on where they end up in the NFL. I do think though if Cincy is the top pick they take Burrow but more because he is the best QB prospect right now. I dont think they would trade out of their spot either, unless of course there was a kings ransom.
Cincy is in a weird place though, they didn’t prepare to make their rebuild last year. they still have some top players that are aging, they have a deep enough team they could win now with the right QB. They might be more likely to take a Rivers, or Manning, or some former top guy getting a chance of scenery than other teams currently looking to get a franchise QB. If you gave them 2 ists this year and they only have to move beach a few spots, you could probably make them think about it. Grab Rivers, see what they could do with him, AJ, Mixon, etc all together, and the defense they have that are better than they are playing and try to win now with thoughts of a reboot after if they cant make a run of it in 2020. They have a lot of strategies at their disposal.
Parker extended to 2023. 4 yr…$40M
Wow!!! Hopefully he continues to be the player he was this year.
Fingers crossed. It’s a risk/reward scenario. If he plays at the level he has for the 2nd half of this season, we got a very good receiver at an excellent value. It’s a shewd move by our FO, but only if it works out, lol.
He was solid early on this season as well when we were really struggling and then got even better as the team improved.
Yeah, he wasn’t as bad early in the year as he has been in previous seasons, but he still had some drop problems and consistency issues. He’s taken it to another level in the last month and a half. Whether that is because the team caught up or he advanced, shrug. That is where we need him to be. If he stays at the level he has achieved, we get a steal. If he reverts, maybe not so much.
Nice! Two yr team option is very friendly to us. Parker paying it back to the team that stuck with him.
That’s my take!
I like it! Go Parker!!
D – Cincy isn’t just going to take Burrow because he’s an Ohio kid, they’re going to take him because he’s the best QB in the draft who happens to be from Ohio. It’s a WIN/WIN
Good job with the Parker deal. He deserved the extension and it’s worth the risk with the way he has played this year.
It’s always about staying healthy with Parker. He’s always been a talented WR. I’m happy for him and we all hope he continues to play at a high level.
As most here know, I have never been a Parker fan.
What he just did, signing a very team friendly, yet still good deal for him, is a big indication of this guy’s character.
What’s changed in him this year? What’s the catalyst? Oh yeah, Flores. Hell yeah.
And it also shows that this team is doing it the right way. Reward the guys that put it all out there for their team and get rid of the me first divas.
Yes…. I’m talking about MTM.
The coaches have said Parker has worked his ass off since they got here and then we saw the results. The fact that we’re throwing the ball down the field more has also helped Parker. That’s what he does best because of his size and catch radius. Along with Gesicki emerging and when Williams is back, we have a nice group of big receivers and then the smaller quick twitch speed guys in Grant and Wilson. Now add some new RBs and we have some nice potential on offense.
Starting to see them maximizing talent. What a concept!
Never forget
Nothing will ever compare to the odyssey series.
Thanks for the laughs thru the years.
Agreed. I’ve never read anything like it. Piggy’s imagination is a thing of wonder.
Agreed! If only his clients knew that their lawyer had such a bizarre mind. LOL
I still crack up out loud when I think about the time when Piggy mistakenly copied and almost pasted “the seven samurai according to Piggy” to his boss in an email. LMAO!!!!
Think about what his boss’ reaction would be. Pauses, rubs his eyes, reads again and says to himself WTF am I reading? He starts to think about the movie “The Last Samurai” and “Miss Piggy”, pauses again and says to himself WTF does this even mean? How does this have anything to do with a rental property? LMAO!!!
LMAO
I remember that. Gotta love it!
ER, the new regime gets to build this team from mostly scratch in their vision. Over the last decade we seemed to do too much patch-working to try and compete for the now even though we weren’t there yet. I admit I bought in at times but it never worked outside of a couple of seasons.
Hopefully this rebuild can sustain us as a team that’s in the playoff mix often. I’ll take that a few times over the next 4 years even if not a championship. At least get back to being in the discussion again.
Agreed.
I think they already hit the one thing we’ve been needing for a long long time. Flores. I predicted 3-4 wins and everyone laughed at me. Now they are laughing the other teams tried and are worse. LOL
This team went from “investigation” to now not even competing for 1st pick. BBM touched on it earlier and others have said it too, the culture change is evident.
No doubt! We have a HC who coaches the entire football team and game. He’s putting his personality stamp on the team. Work hard, be disciplined, tough and physical. You can’t be here if that’s not who you are. This was the first year of implementing that demeanor. I’m not predicting shit! I’m getting ready to go on this new ride and see where it goes. 🙂
Kong, we had beaten the Jets 4 straight and I believe 6 of the last 7 before the recent loss. They’ve always been a crazy rivalry with us. But we had plenty of chances to win last week. We fell just short. It doesn’t really bother me. The Jets are in no man’s land at 5-9. They spent a lot of money in the offseason and still had a top 1st round pick and their planned failed in many ways. They even fired the GM who made most of the decisions.
We know what the Dolphins are doing at 3-10, the Jets crashed again. LOL
And when the season is over they still have Gase as their HC, lol. We definitely have the brighter future looking from today’s perspective. I really want to get ahead of them in season series.
2 farmers from France. Saw them live a year ago and they kicked ass.
Sorry I don’t know how to link with picture. Lol
Well shit, nevermind. Lol
This isn’t for everyone, but I think it’s pretty cool. Oh yes it’s a more mellow heavy metal tune. 😉
Tim
I will not be making predictions for next year. Lol
I didn’t want Flores here, for obvious reasons of the stench he’d bring. But he sold me early and I knew this team would surprise. Granted they may end up a 3 win team but nobody saw even that coming.
The first thing Flores did was set the tone for discipline. The TNT wall. “Takes No Talent”. We’re one of the least penalized teams in the league. He’s making that happen with a mostly backup roster. Like I’ve said before, what happens when we have more talent? 🙂
Who’s gonna Fess up and say they hated Parker before?
ER did.
I was Meh!
Never have liked 1st round receivers!
Yep, I sure did. Wanted him gone for years.
I’m still not sold on him, but I am a fan of the person. Few weeks back when he started this stretch he’s having, he gave all credit to the organization for believing in him and not giving up. Class act.
Song about lawyers….
Of course none like the ones around here. 😉
Nice!!! This is the band that lead me to Mr. Bungle. I saw them both live. 😉
Yep. I lived in Cali and got to see them. Saw Bungle early 2000s for last time in ATL. Saw FNM again either last year or year before…..thought when I saw them in ’94 (I think) was it forever.
Of course seen Patton’s numerous other projects every chance. He’s definitely one of my favorites.
.
ER, I saw Faith No More open for Metallica and Guns N’ Roses at Giants stadium. I stood next to Scott Ian of Anthrax in NYC – forgot the club, to see Mr. Bungle. He was like hey man, good stuff. We both agreed. Fun night!
👍 Nice!
Only have seen them in small clubs. And that’s when you run into those fans that play in other bands.
Yep!
Stanger – I think all of us got tired of Parker not producing at one time or another
Especially after hearing year after year how good he looked in the training camp and/or preseason, and then the requisite minor injury came that would hamper him all season long. It was very frustrating each time that occurred.
I still kept hope though, least as to potential. Dude just makes plays like few wideouts can. With that said, wanted us to keep him along with 2 other WRs we could depend on.
ONE MORE GAME left in what has been a stellar season for FAU. TE Harrison Bryant did, indeed, win the Mackey award as the nation’s top tight end in Division 1. He’ll be THE FIRST FAU PLAYER EVER to be named a consensus starter on the various All-American teams. And he has a very rosy future in the upcoming NFL draft. A lot of NFL teams are looking for help at the TE position.
————
Junior CB Meiko Dotson led Division 1 with 9 interceptions this season. As a team, FAU had 22 picks, also tops in Division 1. Not surprisingly, FAU’s defense, led by DC Glenn Spencer, led the country with a +22 in turnovers. Spencer will lead FAU into their bowl game VS. 10-2 SMU where the Owls are 3 and 1/2 point underdogs. The team wanted Spencer to succeed the very successful Lane Kiffen as permanent Head Coach. But FAU President, Dr. John Kelly, had a “Steve Ross Moment” and hired proven loser (the recently fired HC of Florida State) to succeed Kiffen, who was hired by the Ole Miss Rebels. So this Bowl Game may represent the high point of FAU’s program for the next several years. Hope I’M WRONG on that one.
————
This FAU football team thinks coach Spencer got a raw deal. And, I GUARANTEE, these players will PLAY THEIR ASSES OF FOR HIM IN THIS GAME on Dec. 21.
PREDICTION: FAU-37, SMU-34 in a wild west shoot-out. This will leave FAU at 10-3, a record I DON’T expect Willie Taggert to equal next season as FAU’s HC.
Happy to see we resigned Parker. Its good to see we are keeping talent we developed
I was ready to draft a wr early next season
Parker has made that unnecessary
Honestly I think Gase was really holding a lot of guys back
If Williams recovers, looking like we have two nice starters. And not bad depth either.
^^^^
If Gase got the level of play out of the frontline talent we had that Flores is getting out this motley group we would have been contenders
https://www.miamidolphins.com/news/dolphins-awarded-cornerback-tae-hayes-off-waivers
If I asked you which NFL player this story was about. ….. your first guess would be Gronk and you would be right.
—————————————-
Belickick: Rob was kind of a shot in the dark. He came up on his pre-draft visit, had a bad visit. We put him in a room, came back, he was asleep on the floor. Didn’t make a very good impression.
Reporter: He was what? He was sleeping on the floor?
Belickick: I brought him in, you know, we’re getting ready to have a meeting with the coaches and go through, then fell asleep on the floor. Oh boy. Kind of got a slow start there
Probably sleeping off a hangover
Only reason would happen with you or me, but if anything Gronk has proven he is a most unusual beast. He was made to be an NFL TE and for Reality TV….. surprised doesn’t have his own show yet.
I dont have too much faith in parker/Williams being our top 2 long term
But I think it does give us some flexibility to prioritize other needs
We have a bunch of picks though
Once we get into day 3 it wouldn’t surprise me if we added some depth at WR
You can pick up food developmental players on day 3 at the skill positions
We might be able to draft guys we don’t have to rush into starting…lol
I would like to get a TE a little later too
But days 1-2 o think should be QB, OL, RB, DB, DL/Edge
We probably could use multiple players up front on both sides of the ball
Great balance and power!
I love to watch ankle breakers run. LOL
Oh yes….TaeHayes….I know who that is…🤥
LOL
Stanger – We also have Allen Hurns!
GOOD POINT, Mike. –NOW, if our O-Line was just as good as our WRs, we’d be in much better shape to make a big improvement next season.
Wyoming, I noticed you have drafted CB Jeffrey Okudah in the 1st on some of your recent mocks. The way we are churning and basically working out DB’s in live game action, I would not be surprised we take a CB in the 1st round. This seems to be their highest priority right now.
Or maybe they are looking to fill that void now so it is not a top priority come draft. Who knows
Needham has been a great find!
but he is not elite!
Flores needs 2 shutdown corners to run his D properly
Once again
Never focus on one player
That would not be good for us. We want the top of the draft as stocked as possible.
Wonder if he changes his mind if they win the championship?
I really like Okudah and Derrick Brown, so I have no problem taking either with our 1st pick. Both guys are in my top 5 prospects for this draft. …top 4 if Young stays with Ohio St for another year.
I’ll be representing at the game tomorrow.
👍
Awesome — where are your seats?
Up in the 300’s.
You know what yard line? Over all the Fests have grown to love those seats and appreciate the differences. High up endzone show the plays better than anywhere.
Around the 30 I think.
Cool sounds like what we Had for the Fest. Was a good view.
Agree with you, stangerx, on the seat selection and add front row. Upper tier endzone is pretty cool, imo.
Stanger, I’ve sat there before and it’s fine.
Omar is such a joy. LOL
Omar is a doosh
Oh my, Not only is he a dick, he’s just stupid. The arrogance is rotting his brain.
Flores is coaching/developing/teaching a wing attitude with backups. They should be last in the league in everything. Yet there are 2-4 worst than them with starters.
I’ll take fewest penalties in league as huge win. Next year win the turnover differential and add more talent.
Stay the course.
Winning attitude.
Congratulations to Joe Burrow. He deserved the Heisman this year
I love how the Miami media doesn’t understand what’s happening with the Dolphins as they try to explain it to others who get it. It’s pure comedy. LOL
Omar Kelly has been in the fight of his life for years now, fighting to be relevant
The only thing he know how to do now is tell people he knows more than them and that they should. It feel the way they feel
JUST WATCHED an ESPN analysis of Ryan Tannehill’s successful run as the Titans starting quarterback. It’s REALLY IMPRESSIVE. Since assuming the starting role, Tanny has passed for 15 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions. And, according to analyst Louis Riddick, “Tennessee is the hottest team in the NFL right now.”
———————-
I was never Tannehill’s biggest supporter during his years in Miami. Nor was I his biggest critic — far from it. I always wondered what he could do with a good HC and an O-Line that was at least of average to slightly above average quality.
Well, now we know. Mike Vrabel, so far, has proven to be a decnt NFL head coach. And this Titan’s O-Line probably is better than any O-Line Tanny played behind in Miami. For virtually the entire run of the Ross ownership, Miami has had an O-Line that’s ranged from below average to down right awful. Draft after draft, year after year, this management HAS FAILED to successfully address this crying need. The result?? ZERO playoff wins. And a franchise that’s buried in the lower portions of the league for way too many seasons.
Now one Ross supporter has said “Lots of teams have big O-Line problems,” as if that’s an OK excuse for failure. WELL IT’S NOT OK WITH THOSE OF US WHO EXPECT BETTER. Never has been. Never will be. Among all the idiotic and down right stupid things done by the leadership of this franchise over the last decade, FAILING TO SUCCESSFULLY ADDRESS OUR O-LINE may be the greatest sin.
I NOW BELIEVE Ryan Tannehill WILL LEAD the Tennesse Titans into the playoffs THIS SEASON!! And there will be a big smile on his face as he leads this franchise to a successful season. Plus an even Bigger smile will be on his face when he signs a free agent contract some time in 2020. It’s amazing how some careers have “taken off” once those players moved on to better managed teams, isn’t it???
Maybe now, FINALLY, upper management will see the wisdom of addressing the O-Line needs in a big way this coming off-season. But I wouldn’t bet my ass on it!!!
I’m the biggest Titans and Tanny supporter right now. They make the playoffs and either the Steelers or Texans do not. And we have their first picks. 🙂
And could not be more with you on going O-line heavy in the off season. BTWN the draft and FA hope we bring in 3 studs.
Round 1 Pick 4: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU (A+)
Round 1 Pick 22: Alex Leatherwood, OG/OT, Alabama (B)
Round 1 Pick 23: Yetur Gross-Matos, DE/OLB, Penn State (B-)
Round 2 Pick 4: Creed Humphrey, C, Oklahoma (B+)
Round 2 Pick 30: KLavon Chaisson, DE/OLB, LSU (B)
Round 3 Pick 4: Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn (A-)
Round 4 Pick 19: Josh Metellus, FS/SS, Michigan (A+)
Round 5 Pick 21: Troy Pride, CB, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 6 Pick 4: Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland (A+)
Round 6 Pick 21: Khalil Davis, DT, Nebraska (A+)
Round 7 Pick 26: AJ Green, CB, Oklahoma State (A+)
Come on Titans, Bills, Bengals, Redskins, Lions, Cardinals, Jaguars and Falcons!!!
Go Dolphins!!!!
Also, go Rams, Bears and Colts!!!!! Wins by them could impact Steelers and Texans draft position.
We are getting to the point where as fans games matter most for us as far as draft position. Thought early season tank stuff ridiculous…… now could actually buy it. Won’t be all that upset if we lose to the G-Men in a close game.
YS: Thanks for your comments on the O-Line. Me and my lucky Penny will miss most of today’s game due to the need to see one of her doctors. Some doctors STILL HAVE Sunday hours, thankfully.
Charles Harris is inactive? What are we going to do?
Mando is pushing Hurts as a QB option. I swear he thinks like me but just a bit slower to certain ideas. I was really intrigued earlier in the year but it’s worn down some. He still makes some really bad decisions with the ball but he may sell some people in the playoffs. I want to see how Riley uses him. He’s obviously talented since two top programs courted and then started him for significant times. He also has some escapability which is a plus. He actually has a lot of pluses the more I think about it.
He’s nowhere near as good as Burrow now but maybe he could be really good. I have more faith in these coaches to develop talent than any since Shula. He’s a top 25 prospect that will probably go in the top 10 based off where he plays and based on everyone screwing up on L. Jackson. I don’t think he’s worth that now but who is? Probably not Tua now. Definitely none of the other QBs declaring this year.
From “thedraftnetwork” simulator:
4 Andrew Thomas, OT Georgia
22 Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE Penn State
23 K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE LSU
36 Creed Humphrey, IOL Oklahoma
62 Jaylon Johnson, CB Utah
68 Anthony Gordon, QB Washington State
149 Julian Blackmon, S Utah
151 Raequan Williams, IDL Michigan State
163 Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB LSU
180 Denzel Mims, WR Baylor
188 Scott Frantz, OT Kansas State
217 Kamal Martin, LB Minnesota
I addressed what I think are areas of need in OL, pass rush and CB early. I also think QB Anthony Gordon is worth a shot in the 3rd round.
Eli’s last hurrah today
Wonder if he knows he will have to deal with The TimTakeover? Almost negates home filed advantage right there.
😆
As long as we play a decent game it’s a win, win for the Fins win or lose.
Go Dolphins!!!
Agreed.
Winston already has an int
Damn it Kong go make some poppers
smh, 6th miss for Sanders this year.
My frick’n Uverse feed is killing me. Sound for the game kicks in and out, but least they change the broken picture on the screen every couple minutes. Guess giving me the experience some of you out of town guys have for games. 🙂
The bengals are beating the patriots 7-0
No it’s 7 all
Oops…I guess I got excited when they scored
Our best runner just did it again
Now Bengals lead 10-7
Lamar Fitzpatrick
This offense does a good job of not wasting plays
If we have actually have a running game, look out
