Before this season begins, there are currently 8 TE’s that have more career receiving yards than Mike Gesicki. Of those TE’s, only 5 of them were drafted by the Dolphins. I’m sure you guys know who the leader is, he was the first TE to come to mind when I woke up and decided to write this article. Randy McMichael is the all time leading TE and he was drafted and played 5 seasons for the Dolphins. McMichael totaled 3096 receiving yards on 283 receptions and 18 TD’s. To me, those are very reachable numbers for Gesicki, but only if he gets a new contract. He’s on the last year of his 4 year rookie contract after being drafted #42 in RD 2 in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The other TE’s, if you’re wondering who are at the moment ahead of Mike Gesicki are Bruce Hardy (Drafted by Miami), Anthony Fasano, Keith jackson, Charles Clay (Drafted by Miami), Ferrell Edmunds (Drafted by Miami), Troy Drayton and Joe Rose (Drafted by Miami). Each season, Gesicki has increased his receiving yards and there’s no reason to expect that trend to stop this season. Throw out the rookie season where he was scarcely used, in his 2nd season he was targeted 89 times and had 51 receptions for 570 yards. In his 3rd season Gesicki’s targets went slightly down from 89 to 85 but he had 2 more receptions and 133 more receiving yards. I think a fair expectation for Gesicki this season would be 100 targets, 60 receptions and 800 yards. That would Mike as #3 All Time for the Dolphins. To me, the most important issue is re-signing Gesicki. Dolphins fans talk about how great our depth is at TE with Gesicki, newly drafted Hunter Long, Durham Smythe, Adam Shaheen, Chris Myarick etc., but no other TE is in the class of Gesicki here, not even close. He’s the guy we have waited for, the guy that has the size, speed, leaping ability and catch radius to beat any player trying to cover him.
If you think I’m blowing smoke, let me compare Gesicki to the best of the best. Travis Kelce was targeted 145 times last season, nearly 2 times more than Gesicki (89). Darren Waller was also targeted 145 times. If Gesicki was targeted that many times this season he would easily surpass all the other TE’s on the Dolphins All Time receiving list and would also make it impossible not to re-sign him. I’m not advocating for Gesicki to be targeted as much as those guys but I do think 100 targets wouldn’t be crazy. I would absolutely hate to see Gesicki move on from the Dolphins. I’m hoping we try and get him a new contract early on, because if he plays to his potential and we feed him enough targets, his next contract is going to be a huge one. Even if that’s the case, keep the best players on your team, especially when you draft them.
He’s worked on his blocking, and while he’s not the best in line blocking TE, the best never are. Travis Kelce doesn’t spend much time blocking and either does Darren Waller. The biggest exception to this would San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle who may be the best all around TE in the NFL. That guy is a tenacious blocker and also has the receiving talent to break a game open. Kittle regularly gets more than 100 targets in a season, and that’s where I feel Gesicki should be as well. I think Gesicki brings the same qualities to the table that Kelce, Waller, Kittle, Pitts, Goedert and Andrews bring. Kyle Pitts was drafted #4, Gesicki #42. Pitts is faster but Gesicki trumps Pitts with his superior vertical ability. I’m looking forward to seeing Gesicki join the ranks of the best this season with more targets and more production. Pay that man his money!
GO DOLPHINS !!
Some reason I thought Scarlett was a RB.
They reinstated the mask mandate here in Sac. With the Delta variant stuff happening, my wife, who takes this stuff more seriously than I do, has proposed we put off our trips this year, so it looks like I’m not going to Miami, Vegas, or Hawaii. And honestly, with the way things are going, Hawaii may end up reinstituting a bunch of requirements anyway if things keep going the way they are going, so screw the hassle anyway.
So I guess ‘Kong World Tour 2021’ is officially cancelled 😦
But on a brighter note, my racist mother-in-law will be visiting later this week…yay!
No “summer of George”, that sucks
I’m kinda bummed, but I’ll keep working on the house instead. I guess I get that deck and BBQ area in the backyard that I want, lol.
I’ll not be attending the fest this year. Flying has become enough of a hassle without having to wear a mask and driving isn’t really an option. I can’t believe this is still going on.
We have a trip plan for driving down for it via Nashville and back via Chicago, catching 3 games in the process, but Canada US border openings not progressing well. Ack up plan would be fly to Fest , then to Chicago see 9ers there Halloween and fly home from there .. third scenario is stay home and watch all on TV 😡
I was pretty concerned about my capability to wear a mask for 5-6 hrs. I don’t particularly like flying to begin with, but a mask on top of that – ugh.

I have flown 6 times since the lockdown started.
Masks are a pain, but NOT living the way you want to is sorta like death already?
Our fly plan would mean 12 hours of wearing a mask airport/plane/transfer plane … bad enough going that long without a cigarette.. 45 Mins at grocery store with a mask on and I’ve had enough…
I hear that, Toba. About 45 minutes in the store, and I’m done, lol.
Totally agree with Wyoming on this
I don’t look at not going on a trip this year as ‘death’, lol. But then again I am only in my 40’s, so I’ve likely still got plenty of time 😉
We look at it as , for the last 18 months we have followed all direction and guidelines, missed having family get togethers, cancelled three planned trips , and a Super Bowl party , got double vaxed as were told , and now ya still ain’t allowing us to go away … never mind the fact that now ya saying cause we got Pfizer and Moderna AS WE WERE TOLD TO because government couldn’t supply enoughPfizer, that some places will not consider us vaxed !!!!
Are you saying you mixed the 1st and 2nd shots with one of each (as were told you could do) and now that may not be considered fully vaxxed? That suuuucks
Yeah the country south of us says may not count as fully vaxed 😊
It has been great that Tua hasn’t had a stinker of a practice that the talking heads could jump on. He seems to be having a good camp so far…
His first day was less than stellar, and they were ALL OVER him … chillax , he got this 🤷♂️👍
Oh yeah, the 5 INT day in the monsoon when he was told to force stuff. See, I already forgot about that, lol.

Why do you put that out? Almost seems demeaning. If didn’t get your point your chance to explain. No ill will was intended.

No ill will on my part either, my friend. Just frustrated that you weren’t seeing the point of what we were talking about, hence the “*sigh*”. All good, new day, and we’re reset.

……………
Yeah we ordered a new garage and deck project in April thinking not going anywhere May as well make where we stuck nicer.. was to start June 15, surveyor just came last week, still at least three weeks from start… EPIC FAIL
During Covid we redid the master bathroom, bought a new mattress and the entire upstairs of the house
Nice !!! Master BR is one of 2 rooms that we have not fully redone since we moved in … redid the ensuite and closet, that’s about it in there
Painted upstairs
Michael Deiter! So far, so good!
That is potentially good news or it means Skura really sucks
We’ll see once the pads go on, Hulkster.
Don’t mind flying with a mask. Already did it to and from Florida earlier this year. 3 hour flight each way to go tour colleges with my son. Leaving Monday for Aruba. Over a five hour fleet. Is it ideal? No but it beats not being able to go anywhere
Toba, that shows you how much I’ve been keeping up on this stuff. I had no idea that was a ‘Merica thing, lol.
😊 Saul Goodman
Deiter really has a strong following on this board.
Which makes me worried 😆
As long as Piggy doesn’t buy his jersey we should be good, lol.
I’ve lost track of all the projects we’ve done on the house during COVID, not the least of which is installed all new flooring and got the exterior painted. We also remodeled the dining and kitchen areas, and I’ve had so much free time, the ‘honeydo’ list got demolished last year. And now I get a new deck, lol.
I also painted the entire interior right before we did the floors. That was fun not worrying about getting paint on the floor- and maybe getting a little bit more on the floor than was necessary…😳
That was fun and highly recommended if you are ever redoing your floors…
You mean ya’ll weren’t required to have a mask on all day unless you were eating or smoking?
That must have been nice!
My employer requires a mask all day too (am assuming that is what you mean), so I have basically have taken the last year+ off. I’ll have to deal with this at some point, though because, like I said they just reinstituted the mask mandate here.
Don’t you do physical work? That must be hell wearing a mask while working…
I don’t know about to much physical work? 😉
But it’s outside, in the heat!
Just got lifted 3 or 4 weeks ago. ( for Vaccinated folks )
This from Tokyo is new to me…. but guess they have mixed doubles at the US Open.
Herd – “although this is set in Marseille”
———————————-
Ah Marseille, that is one place I would not mind going back to. That part of southern France was very nice. There is a ton of ancient Roman and Greek ruins in Marseille and cities around Marseille. I believe it is the oldest city in France. It was like 33 years ago when I went but I really liked it there.
Just don’t go to McDonald’s there and order a beer with a salad. They will look at you crazy! Dude actually told me I could not have a beer with my salad only wine. Told me if I wanted a beer to order a burger. So I did. lol
I am an office worker , and thankfully we have not had to wear masks at the office the entire time … they did install shields between our pods , and gave us sanitizer to clean our spaces… sanitizing lasted a week
That’s cool!
Is the Fest 10/24?
Never mind I got it. It is
Bookman, I apologize to you for that religious discussion we had awhile ago that I was told made you take a break from here. I like and respect you. I should have stopped and let it go but it was something that was irritating me not from anyone on this blog but from the things I saw people I know on Facebook were saying. I try to stay even keel most of the time but sometimes I rant about things when I’d be better off just zipping it. I’m sorry I upset you.
Tim,
We have been on this blog, or versions of it for a long, long time. You were one of the first people to respond to a post of mine years ago.
We are good. We should all stick to football. If this all was in person it would be different.
I really hope to meet you at a NE fest some day
Cool man!
A lot of people here have been advocating for less political, religious or societal issues being discussed. Now that camp has started we should do that. I understand people wanting to discuss current events, but it seems to be a blame game most of the time.
Go Phins!!!
Sometimes it’s better to listen to the player than what others are saying.
Don’t know about y’all but get a different vibe from Tua in this interview as compared to last year. Exudes much more confidence!
FLorida is getting its highest number of cases since the pandemic first began, and is leading the nation in the Delta variant
Fl has consistently lagged the nation in effective treatment, because our governor doesnt care.
desantis has lied about covid, fumbled the ball on covid, sent FL cops to the Arizona and Texas borders, but later accepted federal help on the sunrise condo collapse, and now wants to defund public schools for enacting safety measures!
Desantis is doing everything he can, to make sure FLoridians are sick as possible, the sicker the better for him?
its not better for us. we are paying with our lives for his anti -science fascism for profit schemes, and his tone deaf ignorance and stupidity, are making Florida the laughing stock of America
DDS
Are deaths skyrocketing? According to data, no they aren’t.
Who cued Mr. Know-It-All?
desantis is bought off by major corporations that like to pollute , and sicken Floridians, and by short fund hedge managers, like the scumbag Ken Griffen, that want to manipulate and steal investors investments for themselves
we will never have effective government at any levels, if thieves like Griffin, and corrupt corporations control them with their multi millions of support
desantis IS the reptile in the Florida swamp
DDS
you can have the POS, he sucks corporate cock in Florida
DDS twice, is a lame ass argument to accept the worst at covid leadership, and most fascist governor in the states

I agree. Miami is deep at LB and his best shot is special teams. They may have brought him in just as inspiration.

It’s a true stat. And it is 200-300 hundred of deaths that didn’t have to happen yesterday. And happens every day. And if 600k haven’t died from Covid how many have? If it is 400K and the same as how many died in WW2 is the difference significant?
Just don’t get the backklash from real smart people like you. Country is free and open with a few exceptions. How does people getting vaccinated for Covid (or people encouraging it) impact your life? You clearly feel strongly about it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We will never know how many people died from COVID. It was a bunch, but who knows what the real number was. We use the data that our government puts out. Like this:
“CDC estimates that influenza has resulted in between 9 million – 45 million illnesses, between 140,000 – 810,000 hospitalizations and between 12,000 – 61,000 deaths annually”
Those ranges are so big as to mean the CDC has know idea. I, personally, have nothing against vaccination – I got it. Had to if I wanted any peace from my wife. Like Doggie, the military vaccinated me against pretty much every thing known to man. They gave me vaccinations that even they didn’t know what they for. Likewise with masks – My business is aviation security – I never stopped flying and I am in airports all the time where masks are required. I don’t like wearing them, but I do where I have to.
The backlash is for the continued pushing of fear and the level of harassment that people are getting for not being vaccinated. The fear is not rational, it is not based on science because the science says variants like Delta tend to be more contagious but less severe, that masks do as much harm as good in some groups. People are scared because they are listening to government bureaucrats – people who work for the government because, by and large, they aren’t good enough to be exceptional in their fields. Like Fauci. The level of harassment is also groundless. If someone is unvaccinated and dies from COVID however remote the odds, so what? They made their choice. Vaccinated people who insist everyone get the shot are just making themselves feel better about their decision and about being scared.
this kind of misinformation, and attack on science and the medical industry, contributes to the problem
we dont need more of this to solve the problem, we need less of it, addition by subtraction
when anti science liars are profiting from attacking scientists, we have to be smart enough to see that their agenda is making money, and they dont care about us
If you are vaccinated and you wear masks where you have to, you are actively taking measure to stop the spread of it
Why are you doing that?
agreed, i got the moderna jab, and still wear a mask so as to not endanger others, especially children who are experiencing a wave of respiratory illnesses
because i live in Florida, the worst state in the country for managing covid, i feel that Floridians have no choice but to try to defy desantis, and keep their families alive and safe
but how to do that when desantis wont allow schools to have safety measures, while profiting from anti fauci shirts and hats?
its a sick conflict of interest to profit from taxpayers deaths and hospitalizations, and try to drive more to the grave with anti safety measures at the same time
Good post, Phelon. I haven’t seen any responses disputing this. Just people refusing to answer the basic question. If the vaccines are good enough, why are masks still needed? If you are vaccinated, what are the unvaccinated doing to harm you?
People have answered that question before on this blog and there are plenty of answers to It out there
Guess this is the crux of your complaint then — “The level of harassment is also groundless.” Guess my take on it is what is the harassment? If one of Biden’s people shows up at your door and trys to talk you into it…. tell them to leave.
If it is about being inconvenienced by health precautions then that is a different subject to me at least. And not intended against the individual…. so not harassment at all. Not crying a river for people who can’t take the cruise they want cause they refuse to get vaccinated.
BTW — that quote put out was about the stats for what has happened in flu seasons historically. Varies year to year.
If it pans out this way
And of these guys are the players I think they are
I’ll be very happy
i like our OL guys, but especially rooting for Jackson, he was the pick from the Minkah trade
They are young
And we can keep adding depth in drafts to come
If we have solidified an young OL, then we can develop younger guys in the years to come instead of forcing guys into the starting role and being disappointed that they don’t play like veterans
agreed, good points
I’m only couple of years removed from cheering about how happy I was when we drafted Deiter
I wouldn’t call him a let down in his first two years, but I expected more from him
I’m pretty sure the only reason he was moved to OG at Wisconsin is bc of how well Biadasz was playing as a rookie
It’s not a new position for him
Howard is now sounding like he wants to remain in Miami, not sure why hes all over the place publicly with this, i would have preferred he handled it differently
its possible that Howards agent, Canter, is having Howard air his dirty laundry to put more public pressure on the Dolphins
but i guess we cant rule out the chance that Miami and Howard will come to terms eventually, its still a possibility
In the statement he issued upon reporting to Dolphins camp, cornerback Xavien Howard said he wants a trade and that he showed up to avoid daily fines of $50,000 until the team moves him.
Howard left practice on Thursday with an ankle injury and it looked like that might be the start of a “hold in” that kept him off the field until the Dolphins granted his request. Howard was back on the practice field Saturday, however, and his comments to reporters later in the day were a bit softer than what he said in the statement.
Howard referenced his desire for a new contract when he said it is “up to the Dolphins” to find a way to fix the relationship. He also said he’s hopeful that can happen.
“Sure. I hope it gets better,” Howard said. “It’s a process. I’m hearing this and hearing that but nothing is getting done right now. Right now, I’m just here — out here every day, supporting the team and out here working.”
Jakeem Grant has looked good in practice, i wonder if the Dolphins will find a way to retain him?
he doesnt appear to be needed on paper, the Dolphins are loaded at WR, but on the field?
Parker, Fuller, and Williams are out with injuries, we dont look so loaded at WR when so many of them arent taking the field

Letters
We should have listened
By Letters to the Editor
EDITOR:
A famous person from the 1960s words speak to the turmoil today in America. I won’t reveal his name until the end for impartiality.
“The white liberals, who have been posing as our friends, have failed us. The white liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the black man.”
“White liberals are those who have perfected the art of selling themselves to the black man as our ‘friend’ to get our sympathy, our allegiance and our minds. The white liberal attempts to use us politically against white conservatives, so that anything the black man does is never for his own good, never for his advancement, never for his own progress, he’s only a pawn in the hands of the white liberal.”
“I only cite these things to show you that in America the history of white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make us think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white liberal. The only way that our problems will be solved is when the black man wakes up, cleans himself up, stands on his own two feet, stops begging the white liberal and takes immediate steps to do for ourselves the things that we have been waiting on the white liberal to do for us.”
“The media’s the most powerful entity on Earth. They have the power to make the innocent look guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the mind of the masses.”
“The Democrats are playing you for a political chump and if you vote for them, not only are you a chump, you are a traitor to your race.”
The person who spoke these words was Malcolm-X. He was assassinated two days after expressing the last quote. How ironic. Just saying.
50+ years later everything he said is still true
I don’t know why you posted this
No one was talking about race or Malcolm X
It’s completely inflammatory to post some white knuckling angry letter to an editor calling white liberals racist
Please stop posting trash like this
Yeah Steve, stop posting this shit, your exposing piggy & giving away his secret agenda, how dare you LOL!
It would be funny if you guys didn’t actually believe in schizophrenic secret agendas
Tomorrow if you wake up and David is posting letters to the editor about how racist some one thinks conservatives are, you’ll know why….
Don’t be turds and post antagonistic shit for the sake of posting antagonistic shit
reallly lame stuff steve, SMH
Tua getting in lots of practice with the deep ball. Not going to lie, I’m disappointed to see Parker and Fuller not practicing. Seems like they are always injured, and the data backs it up.
Always…..injured….and even when not in pads. Geez, loueez.
Waddle and Wilson might not be a bad starting pair if it comes to it
But we certainly have a lot of injury stints from out WR core
On paper it’s deep, if they aren’t out there though – what’s the point
On a political point , I can still drop a yard cigar in my neighborhood. And I can fly the American Flag 🇺🇸Without triggering someone. Life is good !!
Oh and more importantly my Mom turned 89 today. Happy Birthday to one of the best persons on the planet. You folks would love her if you ever met her.🐕 Some of you know what she has gone through the last couple of years. Happy Birthday Mom!!
Happy birthday to her
Your the man / pig . Thanks brother.
SBJ !! Is all I can say.🐕
TDS and DDS are severe mental illnesses.
DeSantis is a good governor and I odered a T-shirt. lol
lol yea right, hes shown otherwise
Well, now we know why they carried 14 WR into camp.
Piggy – To answer your question above, I wear a mask where they are required, because I have to. I don’t wear it where they are not.
That’s generally what I do to
But there is usually some rhyme or reason to why they are required
They are required in Nyc on the subway and on buses – guess why? Lol
got news on the building collapse, they added pavers on the concrete pool deck, this included a layer of sand underneath the pavers, that’s a lot of weight, now add the water weight as it is absorbed by the sand underneath, you could see the pool deck was always wet even though it was sloped to a drain, the drain probably came up to the top of the pavers. couldn’t drain the moisture in the sand, with no place to go it permeated the concrete and destroyed the rebar, when the pool deck gave way a structural beam tied to the building sheered away taking with it the support column for the building causing the structure to collapse.
A chain of events.
i wouldn’t want to be the contractor who installed the pavers or the people who gave them the ok to do it.
Man, that’s just fucking tragic . . .
Did that structural beam sheer away overnight?
Or did it occur over weeks, months or years?
Seems to me that if I happened over time, inspections should have caught it or prevented it from collapsing
With the number of cases soaring lately, it looks like we may be headed back to more mask regulations, limited capacities again in restaurants, and possibly very limited capacities in restaurants. I feel so freaking bad for owners of those restaurants. This sucks!!! Just as they finally were able to make back some of the terrible losses they incurred, they’re gonna get hit again. It looks like the vaccine by itself is not going to be the savior they claimed it would be. No question they made it seem like if we could get 70-80% vaccination rates we’d be fine, and here in NJ we’re about there, but fine we are not! I’m starting to feel like those people that keep screaming “science” can take the “science” and shove it up their ass! When 12 players on the Washington Nationals get COVID-19 and 11 of them were vaccinated, that’s fucked up
3000 new cases in the last 2 weeks in Marion County where i live
I dont think we are heading to where we were before
But for us here in the northeast, the true test will come when it gets colder
I don’t expect widespread closures like before
But maybe more mask mandates again, we will see
The numbers are relatively low in terms fatality
And the vaccine is giving us some positive data about both new cases, seriousness of it and fatalities
The real key is keeping hospitals from being overwhelmed
In terms of the delta, I tend to think the things we are doing now already are enough without returning to the way it was
Vaccines, Working from home when possible, outdoor dining – a lot of the things we have done over the last couple of years are helping IMO
You just gotta play it by ear and get to exercise good judgment along the way
It will be really tough on the economy to go through another round of closures and there’s room for that to be part of the discussion
I agree that what we’ve already done is working(vaccines). Virus variants are known to be less virulent and more contagious. Does any real data dispute this? Most people are either vaccinated or have had Covid at this point. Going after kids and youth rubs me wrong when the elderly are already mostly vaccinated(their choice at this point). I wear masks at work but only because it’s forced not because of any scientific data that reinforces that it works… because it doesn’t. Vaccination is fine with me(unless you had Covid like me) but I’m tired of this mask stupidity.
https://dolphinswire.usatoday.com/2021/08/01/watch-tua-tagovailoas-top-throws-from-first-week-of-camp/amp/
Love the #1 to #2 connections!!! We got a nice one-two punch! lol
Wonder if TDSDDSSBJ knows who #2 is?
I read an article done by NBC News yesterday. They did the numbers from 38 states as of 7/26/21 there have been over 126,000 breakthrough infections in people who were fully vaccinated so far. They said it comes out to about 1 out of every 1300 fully vaccinated people are getting sick and testing positive. That is a low %, however, they feel the % is somewhat deflated and is higher in reality because there are many who are asymptomatic and don’t get tested but are carriers of an active virus and can spread it.
Though, the article went on to say, (to Piggyback what Piggy said above) the number of serious infections remain low.
I dont think delta variant is less dangerous though, for the record
I just think a lot of the precautions people have taken are working
I can see that, I just hear some of the “experts” may be starting to lean that way. Who freaking really knows though. Not only the precautions but we are better at treating it.
Much better at treating and really preventing it
The highest fatality rate was when it first hit the US
The second wave wasn’t nearly as harmful as March through may of 2020
Hope they don’t get mask crazy. Heading to Gatlinburg tomorrow.
Other than the fact the masks making my beard look like shit, I don’t mind them so much
Biggest setback is I don’t ever know of a pretty woman is smiling back at me or calling me a creeper under her breath – maybe it’s best not to know
It’s best not to know, Piggy. It’s best not to know. lol
Is that a pick?
Comparison was to Tyreek Hill. Seems like they think so too.
Looks like practice is packed to me
The Bills are threatening to leave Buffalo once again
Albert Wilson is having a very good camp.
Way I figure it if Waddle goes down Wilson steps in.
They will both play.
Of course they will. We have like 5 WRs get time during a game. Was just saying Wilson will be the prime back-up for the Waddle slot, as opposed to Fuller or Parker’s position.
We might see Wilson start
Instead of who? Fuller in the first game maybe, but seems the top 3 locked in.
Stanger, Wilson has also been lining up outside. I think we’re going to mix and match all of our WRs inside and out.
Think you are going to see Waddle all over the place. Wilson has that versatility as well. Gonna be those guys that when you see where they are hoping the the opposing D is wondering if they have the right guy covering.
Exactly! You have guys in motion too. Lots of options and lots of speed.
Maybe we will run a lot of 4 WR sets with Wilson, Fuller, Parker and Waddle on the field together
I’m not a huge fan of it but maybe even some empty backfield stuff with Gesicki on the field with those 4 WRs
I think we’ll definitely see some of that. Mainly against teams who aren’t deep in the secondary. Mismatch football.
Piggy, I have to wear a mask every effing day and was hoping if we got things under control, they’d lift the mask requirements in healthcare facilities. It’s more than likely now that it will be extended until further notice. It could be a loooooooong time. I’m so tired of wearing a mask all day long, it’s annoying.
I don’t blame you. I don’t wear one at home (obviously) so when I work for, no,e I don’t
And in the office I can close my door and take it off even when we have mask restrictions in the building – but rIght now we don’t have mask restrictions
Based on traded draft picks from the gbnreport, these will be our picks in 2022. We’ll still have extra picks, just not as high as in recent years.
1, 2, 3a., 3b., 4a., 4b., 5, 6, 7a., 7b.
https://gbnreport.com/future-traded-picks/
That’s plenty of picks. Just have to keep hitting on them
Agreed.
That’s not enough!
Lol
Amazing how it doesn’t seem like that much. We have gotten spoiled.
Having draft capital like that also allows us to trade up for a special player, instead of adding a bunch of rookies. It gives you options.
If we are drafting 32, as I expect, it’s gonna take a lot to get into the top 10
We have the 49ers 1st so it depends on where they finish. I wasn’t saying top 10 though, just that if we wanted to move up even if it’s like 14-16 for a prospect we have high on our board, we have the picks to do something like that.
Right time of the year for it at least.
You got that right Stanger!
Wow…..how does that happen?
So rigorous testing and tracing this year to prevent forfeits and losing whole position groups.
I know it’s cautionary but it doesn’t even mean any of these guys are feeling sick. They just tested positive. In the past it was if a player or coach had a bug, they sent them home so not to spread it to the rest of the team. But there are a whole new set of rules these days.
Sounds like Godsey tested positive and his close contacts were placed on the Covid list. They’ll get tested and if don’t have it will be back in a couple of days. If they do will be longer.
Yes, correcto Stanger
This is going to be a problem for the entire league during the season. Being vaccinated doesn’t seem to matter.
The one thing we learned during the pandemic was that wearing masks, gloves and sanitizing cut down on the common flu and other colds etc. Because let’s be honest, humans are disgusting in general. You go into a grocery store and you have no idea what someone else spread on a door handle, a shopping cart or whatever. Those practices still help in stopping the spread of infectious diseases.
So many people who got the vaccine are acting like it’s over and we’re good. No you’re obviously not. Continuing to be more sanitary will go along way for all of us.
“Because let’s be honest, humans are disgusting in general.”
LOL….pretty much!
Tim — people who are vaccinated still get Covid, no doubt about that. Less likely than those who haven’t gotten their shots, but yeah the Covid list should have a lot of entries this year. Seems makes health protocols make sense to keep guys on the field.
Think about when someone gets food poisoning at a restaurant. Why did that happen? The food items weren’t handled properly and/or the conditions in the establishment were unsanitary. Human error. We need to start being cleaner.
Of course, but if they make it political as they always do, half the people are going to say FU
Stanger, just like everything else, I think we’re treating COVID in an extreme way rather than rational. Nobody knows how well the vaccine will work, but being sanitary definitely helped and we know that for sure. That practice should remain in many instances. Like public places cleaning at a higher level than the same dirty rag being used on every table as an example. That’s not cleaning, that’s wiping the same dirty rag on everything. Know what I mean?
Nothing ever wrong with being sanitary and cleaning well. Have had food poisoning before.
SCHOOLS OPEN UP in Tampa Bay on August 10. Reports of positve Covid tests currently are at record rates for Florida (over 21,600 yesterday). Positive rates expected to DOUBLE AGAIN by Labor Day. And, still, Gov. De Santis favors banning masks from public schools, even for those kids under 12 for whom NO VACCINE CURRENTLY EXISTS!!!!!
——————————–
LAWSUITS on this issue are a sure thing. Hopefully our governor will find the “on” button for his brain real soon.
——————————-
AS YOU KNOW, my oldest daughter is fighting for her life in North Carolina (leukemia). Fortunately, the Cancer Hospital in Chapel Hill REQUIRES ALL EMPLOYEES to be vaccinated!!
Meanwhile, over 40% of Florida’s senior care employees ARE NOT VACCINATED!! Don’t send any of your older relatives to such facilities!!
If you really want a vaccine, let the science learn why we have COVID in the first place. Just like everything else, nip it in the bud. Destroy the source.
So If I forget how I want to live and do what you want me to do, you will be happy?
If I live my life and you do what you think you need to do, you are pissed off?
I’m confused??????????
Far as I am concerned you can live your life exactly how you want and in whatever legal way you want. Have a feeling am missing your point and who you were talking to though.
The board!
But it seems to be split on the subject??????
People have strong opinions on the Covid stuff on both sides of it. That just a fact. So yeah seems split to an extent.
Don’t get me wrong! I hate the “public”!
I’m the poster child for lockdowns, because I don’t go anywhere anyway!
OD you have personal reasons for wanting everyone to be vaccinated and I can respect that, so this post isn’t for you.
We know the numbers aren’t accurate, they’ve been manipulated by medical facilities for financial gain.
We know the delta variant is more contagious, but less deadly, and compares more to the flu, so why the new mask mandates, when we never did it before for the flu?
Control, these people just want to stay in power.
When someone is tested several times and tests positive each time, a new count is registered for each test. This isn’t new it’s been happening from the beginning.
Who are you going to believe, those that have something to gain or those that have something to lose?
Who is “we” as in “We know the numbers aren’t accurate”? Normally that would mean everyone.
Seriously Stanger, if you don’t know by now medical facilities cheated the numbers for financial gain, don’t know what to say
So take that as backing off the “we.” Cool enough…… was just curious.
Yes, everyone
Back to another instance of you know what I think. Luv you man. 🙂
IMO they want the illusion of covid to last until the mid-terms in 2022, so they can again manipulate

———————-
That’s none too shabby and I’ll take that all day and every day! 😀
Now for entertainment purposes ONLY and being we’re overloaded at the WR position: suppose we stayed @ R1P12, instead of trading back up to R1P6. We’d still have another 1st rounder next year and may have come away with Micah Parsons.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda behind us… I’m VERY happy to have Jaylen Waddle on our team: he’s going to be a future Pro-Bowler and quite possibly more.
GO WADDLE!!!
GO PHINS!!!
HELL YEAH!!!
Move on brother, we loved Waddle. It’s not about depth, it’s about what kind of player he is.
If there’s data showing we should be wearing masks, why doesn’t the CDC release it?
I don’t want to wear a mask all the time either. We’ve lived most of our lives not doing that. But preventing schnoz spraying and coughing spurts is better than the vaccine. Until we figure out how to eliminate this fucker.
Stanger I was a little tounge in cheek.
But that seems to be how both arguments go?
Thing is no one is making anyone do anything. Makes for a good debate though.
Hmmmmmmmmm?
A mandate isn’t just telling people what to do?
Even a vote just gets the majority what they want!
Just haven’t heard about people being strapped down and getting shot with the vax. There’s policy and then there is individual liberty. Think both very important.
There’s mandates and there’s poison pills. Is there really that much dufference?
Does it really have to be a hard mandate before it takes away from liberties?
Least makes a difference to me steve. Really pisses me off when the snowflake liberals talk about this and that rights that really aren’t. People need to man up.
M13, we wanted a more pure edge guy like Phillips over Parsons. I know Parsons went before him but we passed on him at #6. We have Baker, McKinney and Van Ginkel who can play inside and out. When we passed on certain guys and positions it told us we’re cool with some guys we have already. We shall see. This is Grier and Flores’ team.

I agree with absolutely EVERYTHING you said here, and @ 8:31 PM.
Just trying to stir some football convo, nothing more! 😉
Ya know what I’m sayin? LOL
I love reading our local reporters saying so and so was working with the 2nd and 3rd teams not the starters. How many years do we have to go through this? All teams want to see how different combinations work together. This isn’t a digital robot situation, it’s about versatility and depth. On game day you need players who can do more than one thing. This goes on every year. LOL
It’s all good, so long as we football minds understand the charade (and we DO!). Yessir, this happens every single year!
Saw a video earlier today, ranking the NFL’s Defenses going into 2021. We came in at #18. Rationale? We lost Shaq Lawson and KVN, plus X isn’t going to be here.
Woah, slow your roll, video creator! We likely upgraded with McKinney and Phillips, plus X’s situation could very well be smoothed over before it’s all said and done. What’s more, Iggy’s coming on strong even IF X isn’t here.
Quite honestly and barring injury, I think we’re going to have a top-8 Defense… maybe even top-5 this year. And the Jevon Holland pick just might be the one that puts us over the top.
Yes, I wanted Richie Grant BADLY! But I’ve really come around on why we picked Jevon Holland. I dare any team to sleep on our Defense.
I think top 5 is possible based on how Flores and Co. view playing matchup defense. It’s just a stat though. The main stat is points allowed no matter how you pull it off and win games. You need to be plus points as opposed to against. Turnovers are huge in those stats. That’s it!
That and Tua. We all know Tua being what he was once projected to be is key. He was known for more big plays and positives than negatives. That’s it!
For those that didn’t already hear, Belicheat* announced that Cam Newton is the starter for the Patsies*.
Until they are 4-6. LOL
Or until Belicheat* falsely states that Cam came down with COVID, and we prepared for the wrong QB. LOL
Remember, we open @ the Patsies* in week 1.
M13, I know we open with the Pats in NE. If we lose that game I’ll be totally bummed. We have more talent than them. I’m not sold on their FA spending spree with TEs. Really, nobody can cover Smith and Henry? Who are their WRs? Our defense needs to destroy the backfield. They’re not that good.
It will be a STATEMENT VICTORY should we win week 1 against the Patsies*, and I believe we can do it, and for the reasons you state.
Me too… I’ll be bummed if we lose that one.
To y’all who are talking politics, don’t let anyone stop ya. Just know that I back Steve 100% if and when I join in… but I’d rather not join in with football season nearly here.
I’m READY for football!
Asking an honest question. How much confidence do you have in Tua? I feel 70-30. Something like that. I think his intangibles are better than pure physical skill. But he has a mix of both. That’s my feeling about him. I could be wrong. LOL
I am there now Tim. After you posted that video of his presser. IMO, it was a totally different guy speaking up there. You can see the confidence.
I’m giving it roughly even odds.
I’m feeling 51.47% he’ll make great strides this year, 47.41% he won’t make a big enough leap, and 1.12% that he’ll retire and start a traveling theatre troupe as the musical star playing a young, lonely chimney sweep with a heart of gold who just can’t seem to avoid the hijinks and escapades that keep his life in a constant state of turmoil.
I could be wrong too, lol.
LMAO!!!!
You crack me up!
Nice!

Did that structural beam sheer away overnight?
Or did it occur over weeks, months or years?
Seems to me that if I happened over time, inspections should have caught it or prevented it from collapsing
___________________________________________________
No, it happened when the pool deck collapsed
there was one beam that tied the pool deck and the parking lot below the pool deck together with the main structure, it was an odd ball beam, (lower than the rest), over a period of time the sand underneath the pavers absorbed the rain water, it had no place to go other than through the porous concrete, that exposure caused the concrete and steel supporting the pool deck to fail, right below the pool deck was the parking on the ground floor.
the slab punched through the columns at the pool deck causing it to collapse, when it collapsed it drug everything with it including the one odd ball beam, that beam was tied to a column supporting the main structure.
like dominoes when that beam was dragged away from the structure it took an underneath column supporting the building with it. that cascaded into total failure.
if the beam hadn’t been there just the pool deck would have collapsed on the underneath cars.
like that game where you take the blocks out one by one until the pile collapses. the column that was pulled away caused the structure to collapse.
there was no way to know the pool deck was deteriorating other than the pealing paint that was shown in pics from below in the parking garage, the fault was hidden underneath the pavers.
still, no one could predict total failure in that circumstance.
the fault lies with whomever decided to put pavers on the pool deck, it’s very obvious as you can see on a bright sunny day through realtor pics the pavers were always damp.
a two fold deal,
1. the enormous weight of the pavers, sand & rain water on the pool deck
2. the weakening of the pool deck by the standing water in the sand.
caused the failure.

not gonna happen OD< Desantis has found a way to profit from Floridians deaths, he got what he wanted,
his lies have endangered human lives but enriched his bank account.
hes all about himself, and his thievery contributors like ken Griffen
he made a big deal about Foreign labor at the border, but corporations, and billionaires like trump, LOVE to hire hundreds of foreign employees every year, when those jobs could be filled by Americans
desantis is alot like trump, hypocritical liar that profits from American demise
trump is the leader of making deaths and safety political, he admitted lying about it to downplay it, and went out of his way to make things confusing for some, so they can become vulnerable sheep to control
its impossible to make it non political now, the trumptards enjoy losing so much, they want others to lose too
the unvaccinated hypocrites, have set the country up for a big fail, they wear a seat belt when the government tells them too, but wont keep their children safe from diseases
do they really need the government to tell them to keep their children safe? shouldnt the default already be set at keeping our children safe?
any political party , or governor, that endangers children for profit, is a total shitshow
How many kids have died from this?
https://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/2021/08/deshaun-watson-25/
lol NFL news is getting weirder,,,,
watson told the masseuse, dont be afraid to go inside his butt
gossip isn’t news.
LOL @ Kong!! That’s great
At this point, I’m about 60/40 in confidence on Tua alone. His surrounding cast really worries me though. A lot of things need to happen and come together to get this O in the right direction.
Maybe our great Governor is FOLLOWING THE SCIENCE based on CDC numbers where 0.04% of COVID deaths over the last 18 months were in children between ages of 0 to 18 years old. It’s not even a half of a tenth of a percent. The world wide numbers in child deaths are even lower at 0.03%.
One third of those US child deaths had underlying conditions.
During the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, 358 pediatric flu-related deaths were reported to CDC from April 2009 to September 2010. That is very close to the number of deaths over the same number of months as COVID. A normal influenza season kills about 200 children a year.
Maybe he is just following the science and letting parents decide what PPE they want their children to use instead of the government deciding for them.
Good answer!
I feel confident that Tua is doing everything he can to be the best player he can be. As far as how that translates to his game play, that remains to be seen. He’s been working hard, that’s all you can ask from a player.
I agree, and based on what I knew of his past work ethic, it was a given its what he’d do.
If he used those examples, when he interviewed with our FO, they should have the same thoughts and likely a reason he was our pick
Before the draft it was mentioned by most on here, that the only issue they had were his injuries, and don’t remember anyone having an issue with his ability.
After his rookie season some don’t feel the same way, but is that warranted?
Yep, that’s the world we live in
Some can’t see the forest for the trees
Thursday is the HOF game Pitt vs Dallas
In retrospect, some people view Wilkins as a poor draft selection. They’re getting similar production from Zach Sieler and didn’t use a first round draft choice on him. Wilkins has the potential to turn that narrative around and so far he looks determined to do that in 2021.
Typical U75 comment, if you want to say he hasn’t performed up to draft status OK, but to compare him to a vet, that has vastly outperformed his draft status makes no sense.
Tua is a bust, because Romo wasn’t drafted and played much better
He’s been really good
I don’t know why anyone thinks he’s a bad pick
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/02/brian-flores-thinks-xavien-howard-talks-are-moving-in-right-direction/amp/
I call bs. I bet nothing has changed.
When you sign a guy early, in Xs case with 1 year left on his current contract, you receive $ from the new contract and insurance from injury in a year you normally would still be making rookie $.
His avg per year is 15m, because some of that money was paid out in 2019, he’s not actually getting paid 15m in any of the years following.
Think that’s what his problem is and why I say he wants to have his cake…
did i mention tua sucks?
Lol, he surely didn’t play up to expectations last year
gaskin will have to line up in the backfield with a step ladder, when tua drops back he can step up on it and finally see his recs
Just let Tua step up on Gaskin, combined they’re about 6′
ORob
We are having a cake made for you in September, so you can at least enjoy putting your foot in your mouth about Tua
Lol!
Just read an ask… column. The guy with his brother each put in 10k to buy a house, but he moved out and left the state a year later.
8 years later his brother wants to sell and just give him his 10k back.
The expert from the column says his brother should deduct any fixes on the property and taxes from his share.
Are people really that clueless?
If his brother deducts the taxes and maintenance costs from his share, then he’d be paying all the maintenance and taxes.
What he’s supposed to do is take half of the amount out, so each would be paying half the taxes and half the expenses.
An ex tried to pull something similar with me, when we sold our house
I’m just trying to figure out how it only costs 20k for a house
Down payment, could be a 3% down FHA, not that you’d see any in your area
What about equity based on value? 8 years after purchase the value of the house likely would have increased which should mean his 10k investment also increased.
If you and I put 10k each on a house valued at 100k, and you want to sell for 200k eight years later, you should still get the lions share assuming you are paying the mortgage increasing your own stake, but my 10k is worth more too.
