    Thanks for doing laundry!!!!!

Next week, along with doing the laundry, you might also want to throw in some ironing for the Bills game. lol

  28. Wins on the road in NE have been tough to come by, ill take a one point win anyday, especially when the bills and jets lose too

there are only 16 regular season games left, and a one game lead is significant

we will have to play better defense to stop the bills IMO, hopefully the defense is up to the challenge and go 2-0

HOW MANY TIMES has cruel fate or a mysterious/outrageous penalty screwed Miami out of a win they felt they had earned over Belicheat,Krapp & company??? By my count, it’s about 5-6 games over the 112 they’ve played in their history.

TODAY, lady luck smiled on Miami. But, just the same, with the game on the line, you CAN’T FUMBLE THE BALL AWAY on your opponent’s 10 yard line with just over 2 minutes to go. —-, in truth, Miami deserved to win this game and THEY DID!!!

  40. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Not complaining. Definitely surprised at how well Mac Jones played. He never panics, he just stays in there long enough to find a receiver and calmly makes the throws. You have to be impressed if you watched this game, he dismantled our defense

  41. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

All the we didn’t do this and that from all the I would have done this and that armchair generals. Flores’ team pulled it off. Enjoy it! Beating the Pats in their building is huge. We’re 1-0 and the rest of the division is 0-1. Have at it with the imperfections. I’m going to enjoy this one. 🙂

  42. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We’re a bend, don’t break defense that gives up yards but shuts it down once the field gets short. We rely on keeping teams out of the endzone and big plays like TOs to stop some drives and create extra possessions.

Last year we were excellent on 3rd down. Today we could not get off the field on 3rd or we might have held them scoreless in the 2nd half.

We couldn’t get pressure without blitzing, and Jones ate up our blitz. We still need a strong individual pass rusher other than Ogbah. Hopefully Phillips develops into that.

  53. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Coming away with a W today was great, but I still see the fundamental weakness as I have in the past.

Even with a very very rare win for us up in NE I am still not confident yet that next week will be a W

Too many stalled drives on offense today and too many big plays given up on Defense. It feels LUCKY.

    Prove me wrong Dolphins

  54. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

A WIN IS A WIN, no matter how ugly… ENJOY IT!!!

We may have made Mac Jones look like gold in his NFL debut, we may have been beaten in nearly every single team stat today (but for penalties and a 1 T/O differential), we may have been beaten by over 13 minutes in TOP… but we out-executed the bloody Patsies* in New England!!!

The idea was to NOT put too much on tape for the Patsies* to study (we may see them in the playoffs for a total of 3 head-to-head meetings), we weren’t trying to blow them out, and we won the game of chess against the best in the biz on their turf.

Yes… we’ve got some hiccups to clean up, Tua looked underwhelming, our Defensive pressure was abysmal, and we can play MUCH better than we did today. But we EXECUTED when it counted, we played TOGETHER, and we made the fewest mistakes today.

As Belicheat* himself would say, we’re now onto Buffalo. Different gameplan, different individual matchups, and a different team altogether.

    GREAT WIN, MIAMI!!!
    HELL YEAH!!!

Play b4 the int illegal man downfield nullifying 1st down was huge too, didn’t get to see it, but you guys were bitching about it

      Horrible job spotting the ball

I’ll just leave a clue…it begins with p and ends with y…..LMAO! There’s another word that comes to mind…it begins with c and ends in d. Oh well.

Are you serious, Clark? Maybe you didn’t watch the game. So much for 0-5. Let’s root for 1-4, lol.

I will say Buffalo is going to be a tough out! After all, they played in the AFC championship game last year….we shall see. But, I’m not going to shit on team!

  57. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I think, at the end of the year, this will look like a really good win. In the NFL, you take any win you can get, especially on the road.

  58. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We can just win, it has to be dominant. Okay, anyone ever watch the NFL? LOL

  59. New Age's avatar New Age says:

I don’t want to be a downer but we looked like shit and won’t win many games playing like this. The win counts but this is supposed to be the first year we really put it together. We looked like last year at best. We need a LOT more. We lost that game if it wasn’t for a late turnover. The team I saw couldn’t have drove down in a 2 min drill and win.

Tua was terrible. ORob may not be right but he’s looking more right than us. Mac Jones looked like the real deal. Like the vet QB ripping through our vaunted defense while having a game Tua could only dream about. His first game was better than ANY of Tua’s games so far. Tua needs to start showing real improvement when it matters.

Lots of teams shit the bed today. At least we got a win while doing it.

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Imagine me posting a Debbie Downer mime here…,lol

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Well you are a downer….the O line sucked, Mac could take deep drops and hang out to find the last option beyond the sticks, Tua didn’t have that luxury, decisive in most of his throws and on point, several drops, no ground game, maybe I was watching a different game.

Mac wasn’t nearly pressured as I expected him to be…..he hung out like Brady used to….WTF?

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Was going to write the ORob right line too, just haven’t gotten to it yet, but say what you want about Jones he lost, mostly dink and dunk and when you can run the ball it makes your life easier

Not trying to take anything away from him, just an L is an L however you slice it

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Yeah, what was Mac Jones yards per pass? Dink and dunk range for sure, so in ORobs world those don’t count unless it’s the other QB. At one point, I had it at 5 yards per pass play….lmao

    • sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Obviously I agree with most of your sentiment but Orob isnt close to being right. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves lol.

      • New Age's avatar New Age says:

Lol, true but Tua looks similar to last year’s Tua so far. I don’t care what excuses we want to use about the OL, RBs, everyone else. He should have thrown another int and the NFL is breaking their backs trying to give the QBs easy games.

  60. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Imagine if we can beat Buffalo at hime next week

Winning in New England sets us for a sweep of the Patriots
And I’m. It concerned with the jests

It’s a huge win that sets up 5-1 in the division or better
It was just an ugly game
But don’t let that cloud winning on the road to a team that a lot of people had beating us for a wildcard

  61. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Did anybody catch that Chandler Jones had 5 sacks today for the Cardinals? He’d requested a trade during the offseason, and with his prior work with Coach Flo in New England, I thought we should have traded for him (even said so a couple of months back).

Man, we sure could use him on our Defense. Nevertheless, he’s not cheap and he’s no longer a youngling.

  62. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I wasn’t surprised that Eich played LT today. I suggested it a couple of days ago.

  63. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You seriously didn’t think anything was ugly, Bro? Yes, we can do FAR better… and we will! Just be prepared to hear from the MSM that Mac Jones statistically outdueled Tua. I know I’m prepared, and I’m not looking forward to it!

  70. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Yeah, NE feels like crap after one player loses the ball in the RZ with a few minutes left. Dude cost them the game but it must feel pretty good to have your rookie QB dice up that badass Dolphin D all day in his first game ever.

We got the W but a better and angry Bills team is coming next week. A similar team to the one that blew us out in the last game last year. I hope they eat their Wheaties. I hope we have a much better game plan. I hope they got the jitters out or whatever they feel makes them better because we’ll need a lot better next week.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Agreed! Except, “Yeah, NE feels like crap after one player loses the ball in the RZ with a few minutes left.” Wouldn’t any team. It cost you the game.

And our D caused the fumble….wtf? The RB didn’t hand it to us!

  71. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

  72. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

On that non call PI against the Rams, I rest my case (about them going to SB)

Some one was wondering and already forgot, what was Mac Jones yards per pass?

About 9.7 yards per completion. Tua’s was 12.6 yards per completion

ONE FACTOR that definitely impacts the Bills at Dolphins game is the God-awful heat and humidity that hits visiting teams playing at Miami in September and October. Chances are the heat index will be over 100 degrees, maybe over 105 degrees, for this 1:00 PM kickoff in Miami Gardens. And, of course, the visitor’s bench is NOT in the shade, while Miami’s bench is shaded for most of the game. This is BY JOE ROBBIE’s DESIGN, to mimic the home field advantage the Dolphins and Canes had in the historic Orange Bowl for so many decades. On average, the heat index is about 7-10 degrees higher on a sunny day during these two months, especially if it doesn’t rain. Buffalo’s Singletary, who scored over 60 touchdowns while playing 3 seasons at Florida Atlantic, is ONE Bills’ player who won’t be surprised by this. But many of his team mates, such as the Buffalo QB who played in Wyoming, will have to deal with a situation that they may not be totally familiar with. Many strong NFL teams have faded in the 4th quarter in the Miami heat in past decades. SCREAMING LOCAL MIAMI FANS ARE FULLY AWARE OF THIS!!! So the Bills better hope they have a big lead after 3 quarters. Otherwise, the team THAT TRAINS IN THIS OPPRESSIVE HEAT ALL YEAR will have a distinct advantage come crunch time in the 4th quarter.
    —————–
i always felt that the Dolphins teams of the 70’s and ’80’s always had a chance to spring a big comeback in the later stages of a very hot home game. Now, with temps EVEN HIGHER than they were 30-40 years ago, the home field advantage in HARD HEAD STADIUM is an even bigger factor in a closely fought contest. Keeo this in the back of your minds if the Bills-Fins game is very close in the final quarter.

I don’t know how some of you glass half empty guys get through the day without sucking a gun barrel.

This isn’t a retort by any means, but think about it… how do some of you glass half-full guys get through the years with your pom-poms, when we’ve only made the playoffs (Wildcard, only) twice since 2008, and were one and done?

Fan is short for fanatic, and fans are going to fanatic, man.

Like you, I choose to keep my glass half-full… yet I can ‘understand’ gloom and doom as well. It’s all about “PROVE IT” and “SHOW ME”! Too many fans have been let down for too many years.

I hope this year is the year we definitively turn things around… and I BELIEVE IT!!!
      GO PHINS!!!
      HELL YEAH!!!

The narrative that I have heard so far is that Jones showed great promise and the future is bright for NE and that Miami was lucky to escape…..

It would almost offend me but I kind of feel it’s true Mac Jones looked like the better QB out there today.

His ceiling is more limited. He is not that athletic. That said he can be very accurate and you saw that today. But we also saw good things out of Tua today. In particular he was getting the ball downfield to his WRs today against a very good D on the road. Also I think Jones benefited from our scheme today. I think we were determined to not let the Pats beat us on the ground and in the passing game we were going to keep everything in front of us. We were going to make them put together 10 or 12 play drives to score which creates opportunities for them to make mistakes

Especially with way better protection….I could be wrong and will defer to you geeks that can figure it out.

Any QB can sit back and hang out and throw. Mac dropped deep a lot and we never got to him….maybe that was strategy by design.

CAN’T JUDGE A QB SOLELY on one game, Rock. Or ONE SEASON (such as RG3, who was rookie of the year before tailspinning out of the league due to injuries, etc.). If Mac Jones plays LIKE HE DID TODAY, he’s a legit HOF candidate if he does this for over a decade. IF – – – .
