CavKong, I HEAR YA on Chris Grier, man… as do many on Twitter. Many are getting frustrated with his picks over the last 5 or so years.
Grier has done well in certain aspects, but when ya miss at the top of the Draft, it comes back to haunt your house, eventually.
Why did I post this? Deshaun Watson has already been ruled out: healthy scratch, again.
He was limited with cracked ribs?
Kong,
Dave Hyde had a good article talking about that. He mentioned the Chargers last two drafts may have been better with two players than ours with 5 total. They’ve really drafted well lately and completely mitigated losing Rivers. Here’s an even more unpopular possibility I’m been ruminating on;
Flores is a huge asshole who is hard to work for. That’s why, even as a very talented coach, he attracts shitty assistants. This isn’t my hit piece or a factual observation, just some thoughts I’ve been having as we are on OC group #3 and OL coach #3. Where is continuity these players need for growth? Is that why they seem so lost? Why does Slater look better than any starter we have at all? Is that on Grier or the coaches? I know it’s early but after a drubbing, questions need asked.
^ VERY FAIR points.
It’s very tough to be a belichick style of coaching and not be bill belichick
A lot of his assistants have struggled this way
But I do like Flores and I like our organization
And I’m not ready to start talking about drafts like they are misses
Very true and I like them too. My main concern is watching the OL pull into each other, completely whiffing on blocks, and all the other issues I’ve seen. We only have one rookie OL. These guys should be better Year 2. They seem worse.
Bookman – sorry to hear you can’t make it. Was looking forward to seeing you.
Why the hell did the store call the cops about this?
——————————————–
Joseph Sobolewski grabbed a 20-ounce bottle of Mountain Dew at a store in Perry County, Pennsylvania last month. The store was charging $3 for two bottles of the beverage. Sobolewski put $2 on the counter and left the store.
But a single bottle of the beverage cost $2.29, not $1.50. So, the man was allegedly underpaying by 43 cents, including tax.
The store called police, and Sobolewski was arrested on August 23, according to court records. He was jailed and given a $50,000 bond.
Nice state, isn’t it? I live here, and I’m used to this kind of BS. THANKS, Tom Wolf.
Here’s a fun fact for ya, Stanger. We here in PA pay the highest taxes in gas of all 50 states… and that includes my father in Hawaii. Reason? We’re trying to fix our infrastructure. Funny… being our state is regularly rated as the worst state in the nation regarding roads and bridges.
We probably have more potholes in PA than Benghazi has ever had.
THANKS, Tom Wolf.
I don’t know what it has to do with your state. Why did the store call the cops?
Plus, Tom Wolf killed as many people as Cuomo by intentionally stuffing COVID+ individuals into our nursing homes. The Biden admin has declared that none of the 5 governors who did such horrific actions can be sued.
How is that working out for you and your party, Stanger? It’s time for you to come over to the conservative side of the aisle, instead of abiding by your liberal leader in Joe Biden, Brother.
Bookman – Sorry you’re not coming to the Fest. Can you at least send your mug?

————–
Because this Joe was white, and white equals guilt? I dunno, but shit is hitting the fan up here, thanks to your liberal party.
Allow me to fix that: thanks to your liberal politics.
Do I have to be a liberal to have liberal politics? Cause I’m not.
On the drafts so far:
Both Waddle and Holland look pretty good early
Eichenberg doesn’t – but it’s pretty early
Phillips doesn’t – but it’s early
I’m terms of last years draft, I can’t take anyone seriously who think it was a bad draft bc we drafted Tua over Herbert
Maybe in time that will pan out but not now
Austin has been bad
Iggy can’t get on the field
That said it’s early
I’m not sure I like like the idea of calling Hunt or Kindley bad bc the OL has been bad
The difference between those two and Austin is Austin sometimes just looks like he is getting manhandled (we should all remember he was deemed “raw” when drafted so Grier took that big risk)
Davis was a good pick – but it won’t matter if he’s injured. People won’t see it
I don’t mind people scrutinizing the picks and the moves
But there’s a lot of people with the foot slammed on the pedal before a lot of football has been paid
The OL was a disaster last week. But that’s not just bad personnel decisions IMO
I don’t disagree with ya, and there are no ‘but’s. We just need our early picks to emerge quicker than what they have in recent years. Seems like every early pick of ours needs YEARS to even attain the status of GOOD, much less GREAT.
And in contrast, we see rookies on other teams (who we passed on in the Draft) become instant Pro-Bowlers and future HOFers.
It’s frustrating, to be sure!
We don’t really need them to emerge quickly
We certainly don’t need Noah to emerge and bc he doesn’t and can’t get on the field, people call him a bust
When we get past these first 5 games on our schedule, we are going to get a series of wins in a row against teams like the jests, giants, falcons, panthers, Texans and Jaguars
And when we do – a bunch of people will be molding HOF busts of Chris Greir
Not bc he earned it, but bc people are being reactionary
The tail is wagging the dog on this one
A real detailed look at our picks is going to give everyone mixed results
But Right after devastating losses (and news) people aren’t really being logical about player evaluations

My guy, I’d REALLY rather not talk about politics! You posted about it, and I responded in kind. You call yourself a “Reagan Republican”, but you seem to miss the overall conservatism of the man.
You call yourself a “NEVER TRUMP-er”, and voted for the current imbecile in the White House. When we vote with HATE, it’s never good, my friend… as you can now see. Voting for the so-called lesser of two evils, as advised by the MEDIA?
I’m tired of the media agenda and I have thought for myself since the year 2000. Why? The media spurned ME, and I learned firsthand.
Let’s bring it back to football, now.
Screw you M13. I didn’t mention politics at all until you did. Unless you can explain how talking about the guy getting arrested for not putting up enough money for a soda is about politics.
You want to throw out I’m a liberal when it has nothing to do with what we are talking about then do. But then explain why 95% of my votes have gone GOP.
You just don’t get to bitch about politics coming up when you brought it up including hitting on me and then acting all hurt that politics is there. Least not without me calling you out for it.
Wow, shit got real up in this beotch! Always entertaining.
***
Just my thoughts: Jackson looks like he just isn’t into it mentally this year. I’m not really sure what is going on with him. He’s a physically gifted, raw kid who was gonna take several years to get where he COULD be. He’s just a kid playing against grown men. I think he misses having Fitz and especially Flowers playing next to him. But, he’s a physically talented kid with great measurables. You see what he can become…and you’re gonna take some lumps along the way.
***
Kindley is a big, powerful dude who has okay feet. I think he’s a better fit at RG, but he can play either. I’m not as high on him as some, but he should become AT LEAST an average OL eventually…and potentially pretty good. He’s gotta get his technique down and stop relying on his size. Fixable shit…but some guys never do.
***
Deiter is still an unknown to me. So much of the C position is mental, and I can’t assess that a lot just by watching a game. Physically, he’s actually held up better than I thought he would so far. I was worried he was gonna get pushed around a little, but he’s really not. He’s an effort guy. But, if he is screwing up protection calls, he won’t be in there long. You can’t have that. Draft Linderbaum!!! The kid’s a nasty, natural leader.
***
I know folks think Hunt should be at tackle, but I just don’t see it. His footwork is poor. I also don’t get why people say he looked good last year. He graded out as very average. I prefer him at guard. I actually think he’s athletic enough to play traditional pulling LG, but I have no problem with him at RG. I think his ceiling could be pretty high at guard. If they do put him back out at tackle, he’s gotta get his footwork right. There’s a reason they put Davis at tackle and moved Hunt inside to guard as the season progressed last year. They could have left him at tackle and put Davis at guard. They didn’t. You don’t move someone out of the tackle spot if you truly think he can play it well.
***
Davis is a backup, but I love the guy. He’s the sort of guy who gets the most out of his talent. His athleticism just isn’t very good. The longer he plays, the more he gets beat as defenders figure him out and take advantage of his mediocre athleticism. He’s a great swing G/T….valuable guy. I just prefer it if he’s not a long term starter.
***
Eich has looked okay so far. He’s held his own. He really doesn’t stand out in any way…good or bad. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. Lol He’s a rookie, any productive snaps he gives you is gravy. So far…so good.
***
This is such a young group of guys, but they all have upside. We won’t find out what their ceilings are for another couple years, so I’d suggest folks strap in if they think these first two games have been bumpy? Lol
I read through this long post and I can’t say I disagree with any of it
I’m not sure why so many fans can’t accept it’s a young OL that will take some lumps.
The OL is particularly reconstructed over the last 1 years with you players.
I guess we need to get Tua some armor then. He might make it through Season 2 starting most of the games. Not looking good so far.
Meanwhile, with the exception of 2 teams, the entire afc is either 1-1 or 0-2 and we face one of the only 2-0 teams this weekend
Getting out of Vegas with a win will go a long way to where we are going
The AFC is going to be very scrappy this year
Piggy,
Sorry. D made me do it! Lol
Why are the Redsox wearing the A’s uniforms?
Division games are the worst measure of where you are they’re a clusterfuck we should be looking a whole lot different over the course of the next several weeks. Hopefully when we see those guys again we’re playing with some momentum. The season starts this week I don’t know what to call those first two games but at least we have a win through it all.
Piggy, this fact is as true today as it was 5 years ago on this blog, and 10 years ago on the blog, and 15 years ago on the blog, some people absolutely won’t admit there might be a problem in the kitchen until the house is completely burned down and they walk through the ashes. At that point we might get a “Yeah, we might need a new house. Looks like the kitchen actually was on fire.” lol.
It’s a mistake to assume people are being reactionary just because they speak up after a loss like this. Sometimes it’s just not worth the argument to point out issues prior to us getting destroyed, because it inevitably devolves into reductive arguments and people yelling ‘patience brigade!’ or…um, I forgot what the other side’s name was, lol. ‘Henne haters?’ idk
I think we have a number of issues personnel decision-wise, but I also think our HC has masked some of the issues and gotten above expected results. I had a 9 page book outlining all the things I think, but decided I’d speak generally instead because I don’t want to get into a “Iggy can’t get on the field because he sucks” vs “well he’s a project, and we have a good secondary, blah, blah, blah” tit for tat.
Simply put I think you can’t field a SB team without good trenches, and I question our GMs ability to get the right guys on both sides of the line. I know, Wilkins, Davis, Phillips. All I know is our front 7 has problems stopping the run and can’t get pressure without blitzing, so…we’ll see if Phillips develops and Davis develops, and Wilkins shows up, etc.
I’ll just finish with, I know we’re young, I know we might get better. I know guys like Davis and Phillips might grow into their potential. Just because I think we have major issues right now, doesn’t mean we’re stuck in a static position, and things can’t progress.
What’s with you guys and the long fucking posts! Lol
That’s all fine Kong, I can appreciate that calling it ‘reactionary’ may be oversimplifying it and we have a real history of disagreeing with each other
But 2 games into the season is going to seem like a small glimpse into the season by December. If what we see reoccurs – it the first glimpse of how bad we were. But we still have 15 games to go and I personally want to see the entire picture before I decide whether what we are doing is working or not
Maybe I’m a little too rigidly structured about these things, I’m willing to look at questions like whether Flores is the right coach, or whether Grier is the right gm or whether Tua is the right QB
None of those things are sacred to me to be beyond question
But not in September….
I don’t get the point of that
👍 I hear ya, all valid points. A lot of football left to be played.
I’ll also say, I always take hope into a new season, and this season was no different. And I am ready and willing to be hopeful again. lol
Jake Long was nominated for the HOF? I don’t see that.

Someone asked about why fractured ribs weren’t diagnosed on an initial exam.
Sometimes swelling, bleeding can obscure a radiograph (Xray).
It seems an ultrasound might/should have been as a backup to confirm the ribs were fractured vs bruised.
Sound waves will vibrate an a broken rib causing pain. No pain, probably not a fracture. That’s how my doc “found” the fracture, never did Xrays. Found my pain…lol.
I don’t see how you can be a HOFer with a 2-4 year career. Maybe, I’m reading the list incorrectly.
That list above is showing those players years just in Miami

A kumbaya jam session has been organized where our love and joy can be unfurled throughout the country in hopes the perfect union we’ve realized on this blog will spread… not unlike, well to stick with a theme, herpes I guess… 😉

I meant to respond to you yesterday, but after I responded to Piggy, I didn’t really have time nor inclination to keep that conversation going. I did want to acknowledge you have been expressing some concern for awhile now.

Yesterday was one of those days where I was really upset and highly frustrated, politically. You had absolutely nothing to do with it, and I took it out on you. I apologize for having done that, Brother.
Truth is, I really want you on my team and I went about it poorly and disrespectfully out of frustration. Sorry, my man.
Shit happens. Thanks. But keep in mind that when you call me something like that even after insist am not you are pretty much calling me a liar, ignorant or stupid. Not much other option. You’ve called me a RINO a time or three…. that one fits better.
You are neither a liar, ignorant, or stupid. I was in a rare mood yesterday and I’m sorry I took it out on you.

I always loved “Kelly” (Jaclyn Smith) the most.
I have the first two seasons on DVD, that’s how much I loved that show.
On the ballot for HOF 2022 class (years with phins)
Offensive tackle Jake Long (2008-12)
Linebacker Zach Thomas (1996-2007)
Cornerback Troy Vincent (1992-95)
Offensive tackle Richmond Webb (1990-2000)
Wide receiver Wes Welker (2004-06)
Zach and Webb, for sure: both are way overdue.
Herd posted this yesterday, I believe. Webb and Thomas IMO deserve it. Wonder if Welker will get consideration as part of being with the Patriot dynasty.
Don’t count out Vincent. He was an awesome CB, and guessing what he has done post-career for the NFL might count. Unless he gave some of the voters NFL spank that is. 🙂
Question: what would Belicheat* do if his O-Line showed as poorly as our’s did last week?
Answer: I don’t know, but you’d better believe that Coach Flores is doing what Belicheat* would have done.
So on the All-22 tape I posted yesterday, it’s clear to see Tua calling out where the blitz was coming from. Why did nobody do anything about picking up the CB blitz?
I’ve got to believe that it was a communication problem and not a lack of vision. Tua called it out for the whole world to see, yet nobody moved to block the CB. That’s pretty messed up, but it all comes down to communication.
Without a doubt, we’re going over communication this week BIG TIME. And I’m willing to bet that having two OCs isn’t helping matters in the least. I’m looking for a big improvement this Sunday when it comes to the O-Line.
Usually the receiver(s) will change the route to a hot read.
It looked like that was what Tua was expecting.
You know pass it to the spot just vacated by the Blitzer!
BOOM! But it never happened, sadly.
Tua should have called it out, blocked it, thrown it and caught it.
Matt Roth would have!
If the tackle has 2 guys rushing he picks up the one closest to QB, was this the problem? Did someone not blocking anyone miss it?
Gaskin should have come over to Tua’s left side to chip, at the very least.
I’m doing some homework on Jacoby Brissett. NOW I know why he’s so good under duress: his O-Line coach in ’17 for the Colts was Joe Philbin, where he was sacked a league-high 52 times. He’s been there and done that behind a piss-poor O-Line.
Fast-forward to ’19, where Brissett had one of the best O-Lines in the league. He was MUCH better when given time in the pocket. Just watched his ’19 highlight reel, and you can see why we picked him up as our backup QB. Hits on the quick-hitters, makes wiser decisions, and he is most servicable.
Unfortunately, we seem to have an O-Line akin to Brissett’s ’17 Colts O-Line (81.7 passer rating). The math isn’t in our favor.
MF 13 can you post the all 22 again?
OK fella’s I want to see the group pick of this from the FEST!

Just scroll up the page to my 11:27 AM post yesterday, my guy. It’s only the All-22 for Tua.
Jaclyn Smith was my fav Charlie’s Angel also. Though, I had the famous Farrah poster in my room but none of Jaclyn.
I had both of them on my wall. And then got my favorite one of all.

Good stuff, Wyoming!
“Somebody sent me a thing this morning where they’re talking about putting the vaccine into salad dressing. Or salads. Have you seen this? I mean it’s—and I’m thinking to myself, this is the Bizarro World, right? This is definitely the Bizarro World. … These people are seriously thinking about how to impose their will on us in our society, and it has to stop.”
— Former National Security Advisor and General Michael Flynn…. check out your salad dressings carefully.
We’ve been trying to tell you they are seriously thinking about how to impose their will on us, but you were more concerned with infidelity 🤪
You do get was joking assume, but yeah am thinking about bringing my own salad dressings to eating places. 🙂 You do get he just read some conspiracy theory on line….. what a national security advisor.
LOL!
The way to stay in denial is call everything you don’t want to hear a conspiracy.
To think say 25% of these so called conspiracies isn’t true would require you to believe just about everything the MSM and the politicians are telling you
This one does seem a little out there, and might be why it was said, to discredit other ones
I don’t believe anything these politicians say, so when something comes out to the contrary I consider it, and see if it makes sense and is more likely than not to be true, you on the other hand need murder type of proof
Do you know how many laws would be broken by someone/some entity putting Covid vaccine in salad dressing and serve to an unknowing public? That there is no oral covid vaccine?
I thought this one so bizarre that brought up to have fun with and thought all would get that. But you carry on man. You are one of my favorite people.
We all saw how poorly Austin Jackson played in the preseason, and it’s now translated to the regular season. Man, the tape on him is horrific. I get that he’s very young and is going to have some growing pains, but no NFL starting Tackle should suck that badly.
Being VERY serious here, I’ve not seen one of our starting Tackles suck that hard since Marc Colonblow. We’re going to have to start calling him Austin Sackson if this continues.
At least Colonblow had 100 year old knee’s
It looks like lack of Focus/Effort to me????
Randy and I’ve discussed it!
I’ve discussed the possibility of an undisclosed injury that he’s battling through. I dunno, man. Maybe it is just a total lack of focus/effort. If it’s the latter, he’ll be gone soon.
To be a good OL, the sum of the parts…
An OL needs time to gel, individually it’s not all that bad, but they aren’t playing as a team
Deiter needs to figure it out before they can be respectable

100% agreed, Steve.
While I totally understand the cross-training for positional flexibility, it would seem we have yet to identify our top-5 O-Linemen and playing them in concrete positions. Thus, they have yet to gel as a team.
We can’t continue to do this, unless we really want to fall behind the 8 ball.
IF this was a vet O-Line, that would be one thing… but it’s not.
For the record, I do NOT consider 2nd and 3rd-year players to be so-called “vets”. They are still learning to perfect their craft.
“The interesting thing I think there — and this is just me, an outsider looking in — it was like Bill never really . . . I think his emotions or feelings never evolved with age. I think in time, with Tom, as Tom got into his late 30s or early 40s, I think Bill was still trying to treat him like that 20-year-old kid that he drafted. And all the players, I think, realized Tom was different. He’s older, so he should be treated differently. And all the players, none of them would have cared that he was treated differently. I think that was such a Bill thing. He never evolved. So you can’t treat someone who’s in his 40s like they’re 20. It doesn’t work.”
— Alex Guerrero, Tom Brady‘s personal fitness guru, on the relationship btwn Brady and Belichick…could you see it being any other way?
That’s interesting! I think many can relate to this.
Think many can relate as to their parents. Shouldn’t be the way it is at work.
watching the video, Austin Jackson didn’t play that bad,
Watch the All-22 that Wyoming posted above, after Tua went out. Austin Sackson was BAD!
They kept sneaking that lber up on the left side, the RB has to pick that up and Tua has to grab that RB by the face mask and make sure he knows what’s up, only one time had i seen Tua just point his finger in that direction. you gotta make sure that guy is accounted for if you’re tua! i think they got him 3 times like that .
NO EXCUSES!
I’m willing to bet that this issue is being corrected as we speak.
Steve, you may want to bring your own salad dressing to the fest
Warren makes a great dressing, but steve can bring his own. His preparation on the tomatoes in the salad is what is spectacular though.

LOL
This was the highlight reel I was looking at regarding Jacoby Brissett (2019) when he had a GREAT O-Line in front of him.
REMINDER: these are only the highlights! To be more subjective, one must look at his entire tape.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1bFNE0CGXY
I wonder if Brady has his personal trainer break up with his mistresses for him.
“Tom just wants you to know- it’s not you, it’s him. He’ll always care about you.”
Does Brady’s BFF get a call from his personal trainer to tell him when Brady can’t make it to lunch?
“Tom is really sorry he can’t make it to lunch today, Bob. he wants you to know it’s him, not you.”
To Giselle:
“Tom can’t pick up the kids today from daycare, he needs you to do it. It’s not you, it’s him.”
Pretty weird Belicheat treated him like a 20 something…
“No, Tom, you can’t have your personal trainer relay the plays to your teammates in the huddle.”
‘No, Tom, your personal trainer can’t massage your jock on the sidelines during practice.”
Belichick banned the guy from the team facilities, but that also means he told Brady he was banned. Think about that one. He’s up and doing his thing in Tampa. Maybe he’s a “Yoko”… lol.
Could very well be. Whatever the reason, I’m just glad the band broke up, lol.

But even at work, there are instances where the student becomes the master much sooner than expected. It’s just the way of the world, man. 😉
To elaborate, we’ve BOTH seen rookie phenoms get drafted early, replacing a veteran player at any given position, and the rook ends up going to the NFL HOF. 🙂
Sure there are times the student becomes the master and when that happens at work it happens. By the time was Brady’s age was running the joint. My mentor had prepared me for that.
Exactly. And sometimes, it happens before one becomes Brady’s ‘old’ age of 44, contingent upon field, intelligence, wisdom, and experience (via mentor) at a younger age.
We’re definitely not disagreeing, my man.
But when the mentor is unwavering (in this case, Belicheat*) in the way he treats his vets, I can totally understand why Brady would want to get out from under his thumb.
Honestly, I’m surprised Brady hadn’t done it sooner.
watching that video, as painful as it was, showed me that there was a lot of blame to go around. Gaskin whiffs on a block he should have made and runs to the middle of the line to “help” on a blocked man at one point and lets the free blitz from the CB. Adam Sheehan completely whiffs on another that was obviously his assignment. It wasn’t just the line. SOOO much goes wrong in just those 9 plays!!!!!
I’ve been saying that all along, the entire blocking schemes broke down. They played a bad game. Let’s hope it doesn’t continue.
It was a sh^tshow.
We were woefully wunprepared.
First play, Gaskin steps up to the right into a hole in the line and dances around, blocks no-one while the free blitzer sacks Tua. third play Malcolm brown does something similar in the left A gap, let’s the free rusher from the left. (that[s the play Tua points to the guy, Brown doesn’t even see Tua point) 5th play is a designed roll out. Sheehan plays patty-cake with his guy for 1/2 a second and the guy totally runs around him to pressure Tua for an incomplete
I don’t want to watch anymore….
Yeah why would you want to, we all watched it live. LOL
Yup, it’s SAD to watch!
Okay I missed the news that Tua does have fractured ribs. That sucks!
And Tua STILL wants to go this Sunday! Coach Flores said that he’s going to protect the player (Tua) from himself.
Not surprised but I agree with Flores on this. Sinnett will be the backup Sunday.
Agreed with ALL of your above post!
Perhaps we’ll see some of Sinnett this Sunday, if Brissett struggles.
Challenge: try saying “see some of Sinnett this Sunday” 5x fast. LOL
I would hope Brissett plays well and Sinnett doesn’t have to play.
How many games is tua likely to miss?
From what I’m hearing, 3-4 weeks. But it all depends on how Tua is feeling on a day-to-day basis. He wasn’t put on IR. He’ll be wearing a flak jacket under his jersey when he comes back, to be sure.
From this injury on all year? I bet the over on 5 for the year.
**or all year?

Ok, noted, was there anything else factually inaccurate? lol

Only everything else…..
LOL
Lol, exactly…
NOTE: The Kool-aide Avi is being retired. The Freakout Avi might last another game or two.
The mushroom cloud avi is on deck.
Beating the Raiders in Vegas is going to be a tall order, but I think we have a good chance to get back in the win column against the Colts.
If I had to guess I would think Tua will be back after the London game against the Jags. Back for the Falcons at home.
He’s flashed early. And I’m not exaggerating when I say we could have had 3 or 4 picks against Allen. Howard dropped one he will snag 8 out of 10 times, and Jones batted one down in the end zone that he could have intercepted if he had even a modicum of ball skills.
In the first video it’s obvious Allen is holding out as long as he can, then once Holland arrives he throws it away
Holland never had a chance for a sack
So 3-4 weeks seems to be the consensus educated guess.
When it comes to ribs you really don’t know (unless the team put out something didn’t catch). They are tricky beasts. Could see a flak jacket in his future.
The one thing about it is the younger you are the better chance for quicker healing, Tua is 23.
Understood. That’s why i labeled it a guess. 😉
I got stabbed in LA with a flat head screwdriver right between 2 ribs and it punctured my lung. I was an excruciating pain for 2 weeks. Then back on the squid boat. I was 19 though so as they say I healed pretty quickly
Wow that must have sucked. But you didn’t have NFL trainers working with you everyday. Tua is worth more than you were. LOL
At least it wasn’t a cross tip, then it might have been a pretty rough experience. 😂
Lol
No not as valuable as an NFL player however I went out there to be a pro surfer. As you can tell that didn’t work out. Hence the squid boat lol
Sounds like you have two Fest stories — the screwdriver attack and the pro surfing. Was on a flight from Hawaii to Sidney in like ’90 and a pro surfer was right behind me (guess on that route makes sense). Sorta pissed me off cause folks were lined up to get his autograph while was trying to sleep. Never knew surfing was so big before that. Might be before your time but his name was Sunny Garcia. He was a cool enough guy.
Stanger definitely know Sunny RIP amazing guy. It happened in 92
LOL @ Capt.
I was still out there on the infamous OJ Simpson case
I also remember helping a friend out there installing an ac unit and hearing of Kurt Cobain death
Seems like nothing changes. Who cares how long Tua is out? He’s just gonna get murdered anyway.
Figure the damn OL out for once!
Ps.
Thanks for the welcome back!
It starts in the trenches. It’s seems like the old saying the cart before the horse or the horse before the cart. I pick the horse first
I care, that’s why I asked, lol. I don’t want to watch Brissett under center all season. No future in it.
Cards finish off a 4 game sweep of the Brewers. I thought we were toast today when they jumped up 4 runs in the 1st
Damn!
Lol, it’s all right. The wildcard is a one game playoff, and we’re on the road, so it’s decent odds you won’t have to watch us play beyond that.
I’m curious how long this run is going to last. I think we’re only two games off the team record.
The Vegas game is going to be huge. If the same thing happens like it did against the Bills then I’ll be worried. Right now, I have to check it off as a one bad game. The Packers and Saints have had those too. It’s still early in the season.
Kong
There is no future for anyone behind this OL!
LOL
Well, you won’t get an argument from me on that score, lol.
Forgot from earlier — welcome home you Elephant Rider.

https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/sports/nfl/2021/09/23/dolphins-rookie-liam-eichenberg-makes-flash-cards-learn-t-and-g/5833444001/
This is my concern in a nutshell. This rookie has already played in 4 positions. That’s not how you get consistency. That’s not how a guy learns blocking assignments. That’s not something a successful offense does. I think in our leadership’s constant desire for versatility, they are messing things up. Are thy asking the OL coach to practice routes with the WRs? Is Chris Grier doing some part time strength and conditioning on the side? No, because they have one job and they are expected to focus on one job. There may be many parts but they’ve had years and decades to learn these roles. A good coach will have an idea where a player will fit based off all that drafting work. Based off success for other types of players. For our OL coach, from playing himself. It’s a disservice to Tua and our players to play musical position chairs because you haven’t figured out how to get an OT to do that job exceptionally well. Because you want to keep 100 WRs instead of having enough OL. Because you want to be cute with your versatility mantra.
We’re not the only team that cross-trains OL. There seems to be this idea we’re the only team that does that. That’s not true. Look at the OL and top 6 we seem to be rolling with.
LT Jackson (2)
LG Kindley (2)
C Deiter (3)
RG Hunt (2)
RT Davis (7)
Eichenberg (R) is being used as the 6th guy who has worked at LT, LG and RT. It’s not about the versatility mantra. The fact is 5 of the 6 are very young. Now that might be the problem, we went too young too fast. But we’re not switching everyone all over the place like some keep suggesting. They’re not playing well as a group yet and that’s the problem.
If one dude is playing 4 positions in his first 3 games on the team, that’s not consistency. That’s the exact opposite. If the other dudes aren’t getting it done, why wasn’t this seen earlier since none of the others are rookies? This entire week has been the media talking about changes to the OL Coaches changing the OL so it must have some validity. That’s not figuring stuff out in a timely fashion. That should have been figured out already.
I don’t care if other teams cross trains but I bet they don’t have an entire OL full of young cross trained dudes. I guarantee they don’t. Give them time to learn a position. Teach them their best position in your mind exclusively until they learn it. You may not have noticed all those blown assignments but a lot of other people did including me. Tua did too as he was getting smashed due to bad OL play that wasn’t fixed from last year’s bad OL play with the same group.
New Age, you basically ignored what I said about how young we are on the OL. This group has a very little body of work playing together as it stands. I did say we might have gone too young too fast didn’t I?
Who has played 4 different positions in their first 3 games with the 3rd game not having been played yet? Nobody! Unfortunately we haven’t figured out the best 5 yet and that’s because the players aren’t living up to expectations. If it fails all year that’s on Grier and the coaches. Right now it’s not good. But there are 15 games to go. We’re 1-1 off of a really bad game. Not 0-7. LOL
I didn’t ignore that, I didn’t respond to it specifically because it was a great point. You’re right but it is frustrating to see at this time. I was hoping for more growth from the second year players and I think Eichenberg is really struggling learning two positions which isn’t ideal. It is what it is but I think it’s really harming Tua which makes that assessment even harder. It’s still early but not for bitching, bro. Never too early for that so I’m lighting the pillar lol.
The Herd is playing tonight. I think I might do some laundry. 😉
Tim I totally agree with our O line being young. We got rid of our vets and so on. I thought these rooks played so much better last year. So I figured at least these 2nd year players would be at least status qou.
I think they just need a ponderosa dinner together and things should start to gel🙃
Okay so we said fuck it , and are flying to the fest and staying at La Quinta for two weeks .. will likely rent a car and take a day or two in the Keys and just abandon La Quinta for the night .. I can handle 1000 for covid test for a two week holiday , but wasn’t prepared to do it for 5 days …
See ya’ll in a few weeks …
Best news of my day. I’d consider more than just a day or two in the keys though. And if do it week before the Fest can hit Key West.
Yeah we fly in 15th so likely do Keys Tuesday Wednesday before game to avoid the whole clusterfuck the next week …
You make it feel like nobody has a legit excuse not to fest….kudos Toba
Lol. It’s been a long wait for a warm weather holiday … work has also told me I need to cash out and use up a shit ton o f holidays as well.
I am quite certain we will see better OL play this week , and team in general … pretty sure there were a lot of new assholes chewed this week in practice … or at least there better have been
Thanks Stanger!
There’s always different approaches and philosophies. Teams do try players at different positions, that’s been going on forever. It’s true you need repetition and consistency on the O-line but you also want to find your best 5 and then find the best spot for each. We always look at things more short sighted than the coaches do. They want success and will take the time to do what they need to do. It’s not about this week or next week or even this season, it’s about getting it right.
Stanger: from googling the Keys it seems to be mostly about fishing and snorkeling/diving … am I missing something ??
The middle keys yes, and there are some resort type places. Key West is a little funky cool city. So something different.
And the one thing to make sure is you drive out during the day. One of the most scenic drives in the USA.
Most definitely, as much as I love sleeping in , will be an early 8-9 am 🤡 departure
2 days after having to get up at 07:30 to watch our London game 😩
Key West is a must do , even just for the sake of pointing at map and saying BEEN THERE … figure drive down , stop Marathon, stay Key wear overnight, and hit Islamadora on way back
Manitoba glad you’re coming down can’t wait to meet you! Just understand you’re not going to get the beaches you see in Florida postcards in the Keys. I believe there’s really only one beach that’s natural. Tons of stuff to do though . Whatever you do hold the speed limit they love out of towners.
Good to know Capn , thank you..I do tend to have a heavy foot .. although your US speeding tix are not very how ya say ?? Detrimental? Prohibitive??
I was caught doing 100 MPH in a 65 zone Montana and it cost me 40.00… on the way home I went thru a 30 KPH schoolzone in Calgary IN AUGUST at 60 KPH and got a 350.00 ticket in the mail a week later
Toba if you want to fishing in Key west, I know a guy!
Thank you Wyoming, not really in our wheelhouse though…
Good food and lots of live music to be had there!
Will definitely be eating some seafood there … what kinda music ??
Blues, Buffet, “Parrothead”, Island!
Blues is cool we loved Nawlins .. what is Parrot head ?
I think a lot of us here have had an amazing time in the Keys. I say we all throw them out there and give toba a great itinerary. I’ll be working on mine. Now some of mine won’t necessarily be 5 star accordingly to bullshit reviews however they will rock!!!
That sounds awesome …
Toba
Buffet Style! with a 60’s vibe.
As does that.
Originally we’re gonna do a week there then back to La Quinta for a week , but was gonna be huge $$$ and as I said looked to be mostly about fishing and diving…
Hurricane Hole Marina!! The food is great! The orange crush will fuck you up!
It is better if you bring your own fillet’s! My wife loves the Black Beans!
It is on the island one up from Key West!
Oh and it looks like a shit hole! But it’s not!
Orange crush ? I assume some sort of hurricane type drink ?
You don’t taste the alcohol! But it’s definitely there!!!!!!!! 🙂
NICE
That’s were we go when we go fishing for lunch! They will cook your fresh filet’s how ever you want them!
Sounds like you have spent some time and brain cells there
We go to Key west for our anniversary for the past 5 years!
It’s a good mix of Fishing for me, and bar hopping, dancing for her!
Fat Tuesdays will get you a daquiri that will make shopping enjoyable!
She’s out fished me by the way!
