At times some of us have biotched about how we pay them, including me. But today showed you what this D looks like without X and Byron Jones. It’s pretty average otherwise.
Yeah i know who we lost to and what our record is. My point is I don’t see any player being ruined. Not playing well overall is the issue. I pretty much said that the first time. I even said it twice. LOL
i said they were not ruined, they were fortunate to go to other teams
they WOULD have been misused in Miami, and got their careers ruined
it was hypothetical what if herbert and parsons came here reply
I know what you said. I think that’s extreme. What young players are being misused that will ruin their careers?
I know, man. I think I speak for the majority that we’re just very, very frustrated after today’s loss.
Yeah I’m bummed too. Today’s loss and the season.
there has to be someone better than what the Dolphins have, to get Tua and Waddle hooking up deep
the one deep target that Waddle did get, he was double covered and had to play DB to prevent a pick
thats the best Waddle can do? if waddle was on a well coached team, he would have a few long TDS already, he has horrible coaches that cant use him correctly
herbert just tossed an INT, lol
next play, Jackson tosses the pick, lol
crazy game
Tua Tagovailoa was 33 of 47 for 329 yards (7.0 avg.) and 2 TDs with 1 Int and a 95.1 passer rating.
If told you would be his stats coming in you would think we win.
i wouldnt, because i know coming in, the Dolphins have NO running game at all
even though TUA had success, that was it, there was no run support
the Dolphins will win very few games without a running game
Still if Tua averaged that one the year we would be quite happy. And no prevent D in this game.
This is a pretty great logo for a cable/satellite provider
he looks happy, lol
but yea, not a great job in marketing on that one!
watching the ravens fame, first and ten they get 6 on the ground, making it second and 4 yards to go
thats what the Fins need, like Piggy said, they were wasting first down plays
ravens game*
BRIAN IN NY and others with criticisms. Firing Grier, the coaching staff, etc., etc., won’t REALLY GET US ANYWHERE. Ross will only do what he has done in the past. Which is replace one incompetent employee with YET ANOTHER INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEE!! Ross’s record of hiring goofballs is, by far, the WORST IN DOLPHIN HISTORY!!! THAT’S why Ross has the WORST W-L RECORD IN CLUB HISTORY. And that’s why he never has, AND NEVER WILL, produce a playoff victory, no matter how many more teams are added to the playoffs.
—————–
A fish rots from the head down. And this “FISH” has been dead from the head down since he took over majority control. ONLY NEW OWNERSHIP offers ANY HOPE of improvement regarding our playoff futility.
—————-
I’M TIRED of feeding the already dead fish. I’ve had enough. As of now, I will NOT be renewing my season’s tickets as long as STEVE ROSS OWNS the team. And I’m selling ALL MY REMAINING DOLPHINS TICKETS FOR THIS SEASON EXCEPT MY JETS TIX. I hope to attend that game for ONE LAST TIME in the forlorn hope we can beat the hated Jets. But I’ll also take with me a ROSS-APPROPRIATE sign with me to the game. It will be a dilly.
—————
HOPE TO discuss this issue with a few of you at the Fest (which I WILL ATTEND as I previously told Young Stanger.
Your choice is your choice OD, but maybe you missed my previous reply. You can make good money by keeping your seats and selling them on stubhub, etc even if you never go to a game. People will pay for all those years you put into getting seats that good.
It’s utterly ridiculous
And it’s not that one play call
It’s that they didn’t punt
It’s that they threw two plays a yard short of the first down to set up 3rd or 4th and 1
And they ran it on first down (out of shotgun)
It’s just incompetence
Really not sure what to make of Flores anymore. Really thought after the first 2 seasons we had found our coach. Right now he looks lost. I would hate to do another wash rinse and repeat again. I am at a loss just befuddled right now
I’m with ya.We show some good things and then do enough to cost us games. It sucks!!!
It’s a young team. How do you do a rebuild? Trade everyone away and go back to scrubs? Maybe you do a get rid of the trash move for a year or two with a new coach. All I can come up with.
Anyone here want to be GM?
Wow Chargers go 4th and 1 at their own 20 and throw. Herbert missed an open WR
I think we threw on 4th and 1 or maybe 2. It was a well executed play too
I’m with Ken, at a loss. Glad I am staying home and not wasting my money next week on this team
We’ll miss you though Bookman. For me at least more about the folks there.

I think we’re struggling just to be fans at this point.
Very much so. I think about the time and effort we put in and it seems silly, but that’s what being a fan is all about

ME!!!
But truth be told, if the players selected can’t be coached up, it’s a losing proposition.
Something is VERY wrong with our team.
So walking into Alehouse after the game , both still wearing dolphin shirts.. a guy and wife coming out yell Hey how bout those Dolphins at us .. we just shook our heads.. husband “ well at least we will have a great pick in draft “ , me yeah sorry we traded ours to Philly and kept the 9ers pick .. husband , well thanx for making me feel worse …
LOL — And cold thermal came down from Canada to Florida.
Wife was frozen at Alehouse LOL
Some good days.
Mike Gesicki — 8 catches on 9 targets for 115 yards.
Jaylen Waddle — 10 catches on 13 targets for 70 yards and 2 TDs.
Mack Hollin — 4 catches on 5 targets for 61 yards.
Again I don’t think we played BAD, there were just some really bonehead decisions made by coaches and play callers
Best game by the O this year, but you have to put that in the context of who we played. Tua looked like he had some pep in his step still.
Since Marino retired this team and organization has gradually sucked the fandom and energy from me. I am currently on empty. To top it off they have ruined our uniforms and look with that stupid logo and colors. I am really fed up with all of it
^
I hear ya, man!
Predictions, after today’s loss:
1) There will be no more of this co-OC BS, as one of either Studesville, Godsey, or Frye will be fired or demoted
2) Josh Boyer may be demoted or fired, thus giving Flores total control of the Defense
3) Lemuel Jeanpierre will be put on notice
4) The search for a new GM will be underway (Grier won’t be fired until after the season)
5) Albert Wilson may be traded or cut (there ya go, David! He’s not performing up to his contract)
6) NUCLEAR OPTION, if Ross deems it: trading for Deshaun Watson
Well they mentioned today that we were already taking Frye out of the play calling process , and Godsey was the one in Tuas ear
Well then… more changes will be coming after today’s loss.
We can hope yup
YUP!
That’s pretty incredible to think they had to make a formal decision to take a QB coach out of the decision making process
So many boneheaded decisions have killed the potential of this team
This isn’t like years past.
These guys had real potential and just did so many silly things
Making me strongly think it’s not personnel, it’s coaching and play calling more than angry else
Angry works, I meant anything else

*****
You don’t have to do any of that
Some one should be able to come here and win with this team
I don’t think there’s a rush to fire a gM or coach
We are going to get immediate help
But, I think at this rate these guys do more harm than good
We don’t need to rebuild
But we shouldn’t be giving these guys oppoirtuntiyes to set us back farther
You look at those stats
From Gesicki, Waddle and Hollins
Those are good numbers and that’s those guys doing everything that’s asked of them
The problem is what they are asked to do isn’t enough
It’s the same kind of routine in every drive
Run a draw on 1st down, pick up short yardage or on 2nd set up 3rd and 4
I’ve seen teams play like that with a string running game
I’ve never seen a pass happy team have an offense that relies so much on 3rd down conversions
They don’t try to pin a defense on its heels
Those short passes on 2nd and 3rd down – run those on first down
That’s an easy fucking adjustment
Then set up 2nd and 4 or better yet 2nd and 2
Then run it or take a shot
Instead we are running draw plays about 70-80% of the time on first down
And our running back hits a wall
Seems your main point is lop off the head. And yeah Flores and Grier have to be having some real hot butts right now.
Those guys played well today
Gesicki was great really
Wilkins had a great sack
Phillips and Ogbah were bringing pressure
Noah Iggy had me scratching my head concerning if there were any falloff between him Byron Jones
The OL wasn’t a disaster today
But the coaching has been bad all season
It doesn’t matter if the players mature of the coaches blow it
Stanger,
I want to be VERY clear to you on something… you are a good guy, man! We may differ in our political leanings, but you’ve been nothing less than a gentleman to all of us here… especially to those who make the ‘pilgrimage’ to Miami, in order to see our Phins.
I realize that I can be very difficult at times, but the FEST is something so very positive for us fans: I THANK YOU for that, sir, even though I’ve never been to one (I’m a VERY busy mofo!).
That stated, I wish all of you safe travels both to and from, enjoy the camaraderie and hospitality at the FEST, and be GOOD!
Hoping for next year to be my year, but time will tell.
Stanger, take good care of our friends, my friend! I respect you, sincerely.
Thanks M13. I don’t need props on anything, just ask you to keep in mind different political views by people does not mean good or bad person. Learned in legislative chambers that the solid folks come from both parties.

if i were GM i would use my resources on a run blocking OL and a solid RB, like Marshawn Lynch or Frank Gore, I build there first.
I don’t care if i lose, all i care is that i pound these mofos till they learn how to run.
then i work on DL then skilled positions.
Grier and Flores are doing the opposite.
LOL @ you and I using the term “mofo” in back-to-back posts!
Yes, I agree with ya, ORob!
Flores should have secured Fournette when he had the chance and fortify the run blocking.
how about giving up a 2nd rnd pick ahead of metcalf for josh rosen?
Greir has had failure after failure
My ire is certainly trending toward Chris Grier, to be sure.
That’s why I agree with David. You can easily ruin a players career as a bad coach and organization. If Stafford hadn’t left Detroit this year, he would have been wasted in Detroit for his entire career. Luck lost the second half of his career from bad team management. Same for Barry Sanders and Megatron. Same for Steve Young and Rich Gannon. A completely inept team from top to bottom can ruin good players…and we are that type of organization now. Herbert is probably thankful every single day that we passed on him. Think about that. It’s time to start over.
Those players were far from ruined
Ok, Imagine QBs under Gase?
Better analogy
Stafford was just a stat monster in Detroit
Go Panthers!
I think the problem with focusing too much on Grier is it let’s the coaches off the hook
Grier didn’t design this shitty offense
He didn’t call blitzes on defense last week at the worst possible time
He didn’t squander away a shot to set up A game winning fg attempt
He dissent design a running game that basically consists of running into the back of the closest OL to you and pushing forward for 1-2 yards
He isn’t the guy that has different coaches calling plays and created ambiguity about who actually does the playcalling
He’s not the guy rotating the OL every week
He didn’t start Jackson at LT
The actual roster is not bad
There are some really bad choices by greir (van noy comes to mind)
But this should be a clean cut from everyone
And then just bring in some one who looks at our roster and thinks he can win
Not some one who needs his guys and wants a building year
Someone could win with these guys. Maybe not playoff bound but better than 1-5.
he did give up two 1sts for waddle, he did draft jackson and iggy, deiter has taken a long time and still isn;t on the field. gave up a 2nd for Rosen. jury is still out on Tua while Herbert is lighting it up.
#70 overall brandon jones , robert hunt # 39 over all, Kindley # 111 over all
you want hime to continue picking for you?
No I don’t want him picking
But if it was some one else doing the picking, you still have the same problem with the coaching
Mando in his new job doesn’t feel the need to kiss Miami Gardens ass anymore.

He always tweets stuff to irritate people
It’s the same old Mando if you ask me
I agree with this. Who gives a crap about Mandolin anyway?
Mando
To me Mando was the get the insight from the front office guy, but agree the insight and writing was not great as far as actual football.
Now you owe me a beer! LOL 😉
Must be way upstream, but if owe it do….. no problem.
Did what you see out of Noah Inbineghene
Today warrant him being inactive most of his career?
Nope
He looked like a rookie, but one with physical skills.

I 100% understand where you and David are coming from. However, I don’t believe it’s that time to abandon ship altogether.
There needs to be accountability, thus we should see some firings or demotions tomorrow, and through the entirety of this week. Now, if THAT doesn’t work to salvage our (lost) season, it will then be time to take a hard look at EVERYTHING. JMO, as always.
Miami is losing fan support, that cost $$$

You don’t owe me a beer, mate… just lettin’ ya know that I STILL follow Armando, and that I DO, in fact, still have the BAT-PHONE to him. He’s a great and gracious man, IMO.
When they draft Iggy I assumed either they had a plan with Jones or Howard out or they were grooming him to be a nickel
Now I realize they drafted him to save for a rainy day when both CBS are injured
That’s what we did with the tunsil compensation…
Pig, I thought the EXACT SAME THING, regarding the draft of Iggy in the 1st round. Thought there was a plan to replace one of the two (Howard or Jones), what with their $$$ contracts.
Sucks that the plan hasn’t come to fruition.
In NO way am I dissing either of Howard or Jones, but the plan was to replace one of them with cheaper labor in Iggy.
I don’t think that was the plan
That plan would have been reasonable
But Iggy looked fine today
He shouldn’t be inactive every week
They just drafted some one they didn’t really need
Iggy needs to be on the field, like They did for Needham
Hard to argue, but his admission gets us nothing.
Our leading rusher was Brown with 24 yards on 5 attempts
I am surprised it wasn’t Tua.
Surprised me too
you have to hand it to Irving Meyer, he outsmarted Flores on that last play, everyone was looking for a hail mary and he dumped it off, got into FG range and called the T.O.
He definitely outcoached Flores, i doubt Flores took something like that into consideration because he had his D way deep.
Yep
Who is Irving Meyer?
I thought Rob’s analysis was spot on regardless of the misspelling of the winning coach’s name.
I was jbb
STANGER: YES, I DID MISS your last post. BTW, I’m still trying to find out what exit I take off of I-95 south to get to Dave & Busters. I’d sure like to know.

AS for selling tix on stub-hub, I’ve lost my ass so far on most of my sales the last 2 seasons. NOT convinced I can break even, especially with our weakened schedule this season. If this team fades to double digit losses this year, next year’s tix will be tough to sell, at least in my experience.
I already told you, you take Sheridan St east to left on 26 ave, follow the road around D&Bs will be on your left
THANKS, Rob. IF YOU or anyone else mentioned it earlier, I DID NOT GET IT!! – –
local internet service is hit or miss here in Pasco County.
And I put out exact directions from the Sheridan Road exit, which is the one I use (but doesn’t mean better than Sheridan st). You can go to https://www.mapquest.com/directions and just plug in the starting and ending addresses.
My directinos were from Sterling Road.
WELL at least ONE good thing happened today in the NFL. New England gave up 567 yards of total offense to Dallas and lost 35-29 in overtime. That’s FOUR straight losses at home this season for the Patriots. And this loss puts Belicheat either 9 or 10 games below .500 as an NFL head coach in games NOT started by Tom Brady.
We don’t know what players have been doing week to week in practice. How we play them is based on performance. Right now we’re a team trying to find out who and what they are. It’s not going well. We shows signs of good stuff but overall we do enough to lose. I still think there is plenty to build on. We’re just not there yet. We need core players to play together for more than a couple of games here and there. The team is out on sync. It’s on everyone involved.
Our punter sux
for the ones going to the fest, enjoy the company of the other fans and bloggers
drink smoke and be merry, and dont get down if the Dolphins lose 100-0
You guys have FUN, repeat FUN!
maybe thats when Miami will get their shit together and win a damn ball game\
Good luck, safe travels , and enjoy yourselves, dont let the Dolphins misery ruin Your well earned good times!
That’s spreading good vibes!!! 🙂
thanks, I know they have earned the right to pahhhhtyyy!
lol
so they SHOULD make the most of it
im to the point i feel like Dolphin fans have become victims of a sort
they support the team, but the team, i use the term loosely, isnt a team
its poorly coached, we have all seen it, and for the first time in awhile, most of us are in agreement, lol thats rare’
but the writing is on the wall, we cant ignore it, its time to hit the reset button and start over
the talent is better than is being displayed, the Dolphins have good players, they dont have leadership
if the Dolphins find another coach, one who understands what is required to win in the NFL, the players we have on the roster, are good enough to get the job done IMO
remember when people used to say Shula could beat you with his players, and Yours too?
its true, a good coach can get the maximum from the players, a bad coach, squanders talent
I’m gonna roll with this team regardless. Goodnight folks!
yea, have a good night!
Tua gives us some hope, He came back from broken ribs, had 3 receivers out with injuries, and played a great game, other than a bad pass or two
he had to do it with NO run support, if he had a running game, the Dolphins would have won this one.
the reason we dont have a run game is this RPO crap, we are not letting our ol tee off from the start on the dl.
that is not committing to the run, and everyone points to the ol as the problem. the scheme they use is bs. it doesn’t work in the pros.
we have a run & shoot offense with a slow unathletic qb.
not only at qb but our run and shoot offense also has mediocre rbs.
so why do you commit to an rpo scheme?
you need a lamar jackson and kenyan drake to run that offense and history has proven that still wont get you to the dance.
the difference between this year and last is chan gailey
we need a tenn offense with a hammer like henry,
no sense in taking this shit serious, the season is over, time to estimate more mistakes by grier in the upcoming draft
i dont feel Grier made all that many mistakes, the talent is in house to win ball games
Flores looks clueless this year, he took a big step backwards from last season
so you approve of giving up #12 overall last year and a top #5 this year for waddle?
i cant blame Waddles lack of production on Grier
Waddle is loaded with talent, but has shitty coaches that cant find a way to get him open downfield
do You blame Grier for that stupid playcall where waddle got a safety on?
Grier didnt call that play, nor did he draft Waddle for stupid shit like that
its the coaches job to get Waddle open downfield, and get the ball to him
the problem with Grier, is not that he is doing a terrible job, we have some good talent, its the fact hes been here 20 years and still have to reset once again
mediocrity doesnt go far in the NFL
technically its only been 6 years, but feels like 20*
the man has had ample time to assemble the roster
Orob, Should the team dump all first round pick rookies after 6 games?
or should a team have the personnel to develop and retain the players so they last longer , and contribute more?
it would be beyond retarded to get rid of Waddle at this point, hes loaded with speed and talent, and needs more time than 6 weeks for his career
Just like every other year an early bye would benefit us, except this year it won’t come until late in the season
Flores may be to blame for that too, at his request
Can’t give up on Flores yet, he’s just a pup as a coach and needs more time to figure it out

Agree
At Bama, Tua was playing with far superior talent to their opponents, so RPO worked
To get it to work in the NFL, you need the D to fear your RB, or fear the QB running, neither of which we have
We have maroons running our O
Something you do has to put fear in the opponents to open other things up
Flores told us that fear was going to come from wr speed, so far he’s been way off
Lol
Weird, when I first posted it I could see the image. Now I just see text.

Though it’s great to see Austin Jackson playing much better… WTF, Eich? You’re better than that!
It’s been stated by several people I respect: why is the highly respected Chan Gailey no longer here as our OC?
The answer would appear to stem from somebody telling Coach Flores to start Tua last season… and that somebody had more rank than even Coach Flores himself.
Until that question gets asked and answered truthfully, we’re mired with middlings as our co-OCs. Reminder: our Offense last year was the best it’s been in a very, very long time. The Offensive dropoff from last year to this year is repulsive.
Yes… the speculation is that STEVE ROSS was the one who mandated the start of Tua last season.
Tua admittedly wasn’t versed enough in the Gailey playbook to do anything of significance, coming back from a potentially career-ending injury. Tua knew it, Gailey knew it, Coach Flores knew it… but Tua was thrust into the starting role anyway last year… after Fitzmagic was looking really good for us.
Now IF any of this speculation is true… not good for the team.
I’d like to hear what Old Dolfan might have to say about this matter.
Last year was a head scratcher for sure. However we knew our future was never with Fitz.
LOL, Henry is a beast.
GO TANNY!!!
HELL YEAH!!!
Blah, Blah, Blah!
LOL, just another “Manic Monday”.
on the fourth down play where Brown was stopped short by Josh Allen, it was Durham Smythe who missed the block on edge rusher Josh Allen
this is what i said was a problem before, NONE of the TE can block, and ONLY Gesicki is a good pass catching threat
all the TE that arent named Gesicki , should be replaced with Offensive Lineman
we could have converted that fourth down and won the game, if an OL was at the TE position, and made the block Smythe couldnt
Smythe , Long, and Shaheen are costing us games, taking up roster spots when they have nothing meaningful to contribute to the team
Chan Gailey is no longer here for the same reason he’s been fired over and over again everywhere else he’s been including this team before. He’s not good. I’m not sure who highly respects him, but it’s not warranted as far as job performance goes. Tua started last year because the reigns needed to be handed over.
Fitz played well against 2 terrible teams, but he didn’t show up in the first quarter and single handedly lost us several games in several others at the beginning of the season.
there is nothing on the new helmet that identifies the Dolphins
where are all the dead mammals on the beach?
eichenberg sucks , what a bust
He’s not a bust after 6 games
No one is
The Chan Gailey fan club
2 of the happiest days of my fandom are when Chan Gailey quit and or was let go
lol
Bringing in Danny Amendola and part time Wilson to replace Jarvis Landry, was a huge setback IMO
OD is right, Ross needs to sell the team
hes too old and dumb to own a successful franchise in the NFL,
he is the laughingstock owner of the NFL
unfortunately, it might take awhile to get rid of the grifter
But as I always tell OD what use is it to bitch about the owner? Unless your Bitcoin really takes off David and you got a couple of billion to burn then there is nothing we can do about it
agreed, if Bitcoin hits 100 Billion, ill have enough to buy the team, lol
BUT, it will be lucky if it ever passes $150K
I understand the theory to our offense. Parker and Fuller are to take top of the D, Gisecki is to exploit that by roaming the middle of the field and all of this should create space underneath to get the ball into Waddle’s hands and let him use his speed and moves to make plays. I like the concept and think it can work. Where theory and reality diverge is that this group has not really been on the field together at the same time
agreed, we could have used our top Wr’s for that game, AND
we missed Howard and Jones, our top corners
Don’t think the problem has to do with them being on the field long enough
Think Orob hit the nail on the head with a pop gun, candy assed RPO, that doesn’t have much chance to work without the element of fear, meaning it doesn’t freeze the D
Watch RG3 operate it and you see the rushers hold their ground, against us they just continue to come forward and blow it up, akin to trying to run play action with no running game
In theory it can work, but not with this OL and RBs
We don’t do that much RPO
It doesn’t work bc you’ve completely removed balance on offense
You don’t have a running game
It’s extremely limited when you don’t have Fuller or
Parker
If they just had a running game, then this comes together
But when you have refused to draft one with anyyyhing more than a 7th rounder, and then you refuse to run the ball at all (we run less than almost every other nfl team), then part of the design is that the run game doesn’t matter isn’t it?
They are designed to be a pass heavy offense, and without being able to go over the top consistently, they end up being in 3rd and short over and over again – and then they lack the balance to covert 3rd downs
If all those players are on the field at the same time, then yeah, you have a more diverse offense
But the design was to hope for that to happen and have no safety net, which a running game would do for them
It’s designed to fail bc it’s more likely that something will go wrong than everything go right
Colin Powell died from covid, found out thats why the flags are at half staff
He was fully vaxed, but had underlying conditions, can’t save everyone
He had blood cancer
Also in his 84
Really the trifecta of the most vulnerable people to the virus
Elderly
Minority
Other health conditions
Nobody said Chan Galley was a good OC, but he was competent, unlike the 2 knuckleheads we have at OC and proven by the safety against the Raiders
We have Flores, the offensively challenged HC, that promotes 2 of his good ole boys to poorly imitate an OC
Think Flores can motivate a team, but can’t run a team without competent coordinators, he seems lost this year
He was the highest paid state employee….
I put all this shit on the coaches at this point. There have been some dumb ass decisions made on the field and at one point a Keystone cops scenario was suggested that agreed with what my eyes were seeing. That’s coaching, imo.
This just ain’t right. Even if the guy is big enough you don’t want to physically step in…. you hit 911.
————————–
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man charged with raping a woman on a commuter train just outside of Philadelphia harassed her for more than 40 minutes while multiple people held up their phones to seemingly record the assault without intervening. Police do not believe a single witness on the train dialed 911.
More than two dozen train stops passed as the man harassed, groped and eventually raped the woman, the police chief for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority said at a news conference Monday.
Yep. A disturbing scenario all the way around.
Fucking crazy
Apparently no Good Samaritan law, just people interested in getting hits for videos on social media.
If there were only something she could have had that would have protected her???????
Like a gun?
If she had access to that, wouldn’t the other guy too?
Not exactly a great solution to see who comes out on top in a shoutout.
People did have something that could have protected her — phones. But no one used them to call 911 and it went on stop after stop for 40 minutes. That’s my take away.
I agree stanger
I will say, as some one who lives in a metropolitan area and commutes, I’m a little skeptical of believing what is reported
But if all those people witnessed a crime for 40 minutes and didn’t report it – that may be criminal by itself
40 minutes in a subway is crazy. There’s like a dozen stops in that span – people would have been coming on and off the train during that period
Whatever happened — dude was charged with a rape on the train with people there. And even if some were getting off and on, many were taking vid. Clearly they knew something was going on.
I’m seeing a lot of good things on the field, just not consistently enough. Our roster is better than our record.
Our roster is much better than our record
I know people are either a little tired of hearing negative stuff
Or being mellow dramatic about it
But I’m pretty convinced, the heart of the problem is coaching
There are some serious problems with the FO too – I wouldn’t go into 2022 with Grier as our GM, but that’s besides the point
Greir can’t change the coaching that happens game to game
And the coaching is bad
Bad form an organizational standpoint of having serval OC and ambiguity as to the play caller
Bad at evaluating who should start and where they should play
And bad I’m in game decisions
And possibly bad to the extent that they will make us worse next year the longer they stay in place
We need to be working at getting better each day. I’m not sure these coaches can achieve that

That shit’s funny right there!
I’m sure her thought process while being raped, was whew I’m glad neither one of has a gun!
I don’t know why that’s funny to you
The police have guns
If they didn’t call the police, do you think they would have brandished their own guns instead to protect her?
Please start thinking things through instead of John Wayne fan fiction
My point was whatever scenario you can think of would have to be worse than being raped to not implement it!
Maybe it’s a city thing, that you can get a free rape show with your train ride????
So let’s say everyone on the train was strapped. Do you think the same people who wouldn’t stop recording to call 911 would have pulled out their weapon instead?
Maybe not in the city?
Depends on were you grew up I guess!
Least not on that train.
I’m not sure I get the argument against the RPO
Is it bc we don’t have a running game too?
Bc that I agree with
Also
Do we even do that much RPO?
I’m guessing it’s not more than a few plays a game
I don’t think we did it with Brisset much and we had a lot of offensive problems
I really think it’s design
I don’t know what the commuter train is like in philly stanger
But if it’s anything like nyc, and there is a stop every couple of seconds, it’s nothing just a massive amount of people on the train, it’s everyone at every train station, and everyone that went on or off in that time span.
There are so many opportunities to get the help of the police in that time span on the subway in nyc
And each person that got off the train had the chance to go to the booth and say “Here is what is happening on that train that just left.” I see no excuses, least for the ones who were taking vid.
I’m just confused on where we made the turn in brain fart decision making. The first two years had growing pains, but there was growth. We seemed to be on some logical path. Even the head scratching decisions like keeping Needham ended up working out and making them look good. We gave rookies proper playing time and seemed to be coaching people up. This year is completely out of left field like it was possessed by coaches of Christmas past.
I think part of the problem is we really shouldn’t have been 10-6 last year. But yeah Needham looks strong.
I agree and have said as much in the past, but that furthers my point that this coaching staff looked legit and on an upward path. F.O. seemed to get it too. We could have been 7-9 or 8-8 and I would have been fine with it.
They did a lot of questionable things this offseason that I called them out on, but gave them the benefit of the doubt because of the equity they had built in the previous 2 years. Now we are seeing those concerns come to life on the field.
Both the Raiders and the Jags came down to the very end. We win both are 3-3. Would still be the same team. And Tua has been out. Plus our top wideouts and last game CBs.
Thought we were no more than a fringe playoff team to start with. And looks like we aren’t that now.

*****
It’s not a city thing
I’m pretty sure rape happens in rural areas too
Let me be clear before I respond, I’m not trying to be disrespectful, and I rarely engage in 2nd amendment arguments here bc honestly I am okay with most personal gun ownership most of the time
But in city and rural areas I think access is much different and should be just bc there are more people there and there are different dangers
That said, I don’t even want to get into that bc I think focusing on that misses the point. Pouring guns on guns on guns is not a solution to every problem. Here these people lacked the moral intuition to intervene in anyway, even failing to call the police
It says good things about you that you think being armed would have solved it – and I bet you would have stepped in had you been there
If I was there I wouldn’t have beaten the guy with a stapler if I had it
But the fact is, those people didn’t nothing but watch and film
And that’s crazy for one person but for many it’s insane
If they had a weapon, would they have exercised the same sound judgment as you or I?
I was thinking more along the lines of her having one.
But I do agree that the looky-loos should be horse wiped!
Kitty Genovese
bystander effect
Although, her case was later debunked and the times retracted the article.
I wouldn’t call it ‘debunked’. It got blown out of proportion by the media of course to something like 40 people (probably very similar to the train story), but there were still no records of the cops being called and several witnesses were reported to have seen/heard the event, and only one person reportedly went to her aid.
That was an interesting read. Thanks
When I read something like the train story above, I always say to myself “no way, I let that happen”, but I’ve never been in that kind of scenario and it’s easy to say it from a distance. I find the whole bystander effect a fascinating social phenomenon.
I just can’t wrap my head around how a group of people (whatever the number) could watch a person get attacked and raped for over half an hour and not do anything.
Dude has a gun out and I am off at the next stop….. but then I tell someone.
Agreed, Stang.
No matter how it goes down, if I’m not directly stepping in, then I’m definitely calling 911 or looking for a cop at the next stop. I’m doing something, not thinking “huh” then going on my merry way.
At what point do 50,000 Dolphins fans have an obligation to intervene and restrain the coaching staff from further abusing our talent?
It is going to be an interesting fest
lol
lol
LOL
LOL
Not to be misogynistic but it does kind of depend on which women are wearing the yoga pants
That was my first thought too, then I thought, well either type, I still don’t care whether they do yoga, so…still applicable, lol.
That is a good view point Kong
I can’t believe the Bills didn’t kick the FG to tie the game.

It was always a little bit there, but we were more tolerant of going through the motions for the first couple of years
I can’t remember the game but I remember one in 2019 when they sent and all out blitz on 4th down and the other team scored – maybe the Steelers game? Anyone remember
They took big chances this season. They always took big chances
They swing and missed
I bet we have a few games this year where it feels like we are watching a different team bc we look so much better.
The problem is many of the risks we take are just unnecessary risks
All those personnel moves to move on to younger players are a good example
Like I’ve been saying, we went too young too fast. The good teams in the league have more experience and vet leadership.
They gave away the vets they had
They made some reckless decisions
That’s where I think the biggest mistakes were made. Now it’s up to the young guys to develop and become a good team. That’s where we’re at.
That Kitty Genovese story is a bit of an urban legend which represents how dangerous people believed the city was/is
I’m sure I heard a variation when I was a kid before moving to nyc
The murder was actually in Kew Gardens queens
That might not mean much to you guys
But it’s actually not even close to downtown nyc
Is pretty far out in Queens near the Long Island border
And Austin street (where it happened) is actually mostly in forest hills which is next to kew gardens and is notable for having good restaurants and bars
It’s a fun street
forest hills is a rich neighborhood where homes actually have yards and backyards and can sell for a few million dollars – it’s not exactly the best example of urban life in nyc
Fun fact about forest hills high school
The Ramones went there and so did Simon and Garfunkel
So they have a diverse music program….lol
Piggy,
The Genovese story may have grown into an urban legend about NY, but the story is still based in fact.
It got amplified by an irresponsible media. A lot has been blown up, but some of the facts are still true. No one called the cops, some people heard it and saw it, and almost no one did anything.
I only know so much about this particular story because we did a deep dive in a psych class I took years ago on the bystander phenom, how the media plays a role in amplifying stories such as this, and the small part Kitty Genovese played in defining the 60’s zeitgeist.
I brought it up, not to impugn NY, but because I think the train story is likely going to turn into a close analog. It was horrific, some people could have done something, the media is telling us it was something like 40 people. We’ll probably find out it was a few people, not dozens, etc.
Always loved the Biegel.
