Game 1 of the 2022 preseason was different than I expected. I definitely didn’t expect to see Skylar Thompson the entire game and I also didn’t expect that the majority of starters for both teams would held out, but that was the arrangement the 2 teams made, or at least I believe that’s the case. Being that there are only THREE preseason games as opposed to FOUR (due to the new CBA), this will probably be the dress rehearsal game, as preseason game 3 used to be. We did get to see some starters on the O-line last week and I thought the guys looked pretty good overall. Yes, they were going against Tampa’s second string and sometimes 3rd string, but in preseason, those guys are busting their ass to make a name for themselves and trying to earn a roster spot, so the fact that none of our O-line guys struggled is a good thing. Skylar Thompson did everything he could to try and make the roster, and I think it may end up being a tough decision in the end. Tua hasn’t proved he can play an entire season and stay healthy, and Teddy Bridgewater is obviously more accomplished, but Teddy B is on a 1YR contract and putting Skylar Thompson on the PS leaves his open to be snatched by another NFL team. Hard to say the Dolphins are going to the Superbowl with Tua, can they get there with Teddy Bridgewater?
We had some guys show up nice in game 1 on defense, namely LB Cameron Goode, LB Duke Riley, and LB Sam Eguavoen who had an INT. The secondary was pretty ineffective, as both Gabbert and Trask shredded the Dolphins defensive backs. Noah Igbinoghene did not have a good outing and it’s getting less likely each week that Iggy finds his way onto the roster. The Dolphins did sign veteran CB Mackensie Alexander, former 2nd RD pick in 2016 by the Minnesota Vikings. If Byron Jones is fully healthy, Alexander will be competing for the 3rd CB spot with one of my favorites, Nik Needham. At worst he’s a fine depth guy who despite not starting a ton of games (25 in 4 seasons), he’s done it and has enough game experience. I’m holding out hope that Byron Jones can be healthy and start the season playing, rather than on the PUP.
We’ll get to see Tyreek Hill and Waddle on the field together in a game for the first time. That’s exciting! I would like to see the O-line keep up the good work they started last week. No other unit on this team concerns me more. Getting reps together and playing well will give these guys confidence going into the regular season so I’d love to see them succeed. I still think we have a lot of talent on the O-line, namely Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. Terron Armstead, Connor Williams and Robert Hunt have already established themselves. One shout out, OG Solomon Kindley had a very strong game against the Bucs. That’s great news because he’s a real mauler, and the fact he played well in this blocking scheme is great for us because he’ll give us some nice depth. Anyone who’s seen this kid in the run game remembers how nasty he is.
On the defensive side, the secondary is the unit to watch. To be honest, it’s the D-line and LB’s that I want to watch, but we’ll see if Mackensie Alexander gets some reps and how he fares in our defensive scheme. I have a lot of confidence in our defense, but the Raiders did some shopping in the offseason too, and now they Davante Adams and our own pal Mack Hollins, along with one of the peskiest slot receivers in the game, Hunter Renfrow. Not sure how much those guys play, but Adams and Renfrow are a handful! Oh, and they happen to have one of the best receiving TE’s in the game in Darrren Waller. The Raiders defense is no joke either, they have the talented DE Maxx Crosby along with newly added Chandler Jones. Our O-line has a tough task against these, and will provide a stout test. Not sure how much Josh Jacobs plays but he’s a load, and rookie Zamir White is a tough runner as well, I know some of us were hoping he’d land here. The score of the game and who wins is unimportant, but how we get there tells the story. Hoping we play strong and remain healthy!

What’s up with that spelling, man?
If it’s a reference (and in addition) to Barium, Chromium, and Selenium (among others), I get ya. 😉
Atlanta must have been watching OL tape from us last year!
Happy B-day, Mike. Many happy returns 🙂
confirmed for 4 Stanger.. thank you …
No need to complain on ticket prices … chargers tix are at least twice that each and 9ers were over a hundred each … hope Brian isn’t t upset we cheaped out instead of buying his Bro’s Primo seats 🥴
And Happy BDay Michael
A little late to the party
But Happy Birthday Sir Hand
Not that we need him, just noteworthy…
We will ALWAYS love Kenyan for the “Miracle in Miami”!
MF : Marriott’s mobility makes him look better than Matt Ryan last couple years
Thank you for that, sir. I’ve always been a fan of Mariota, though I prefer a Holiday Inn Express. 😀 😆
Lol 🤷♂️
LOL! 😉
It’s his passing in RS games that are the problem. He’s always been athletic and a run option.
Agreed, Tim.
By mobility, I meant sidestepping rushers, shuffling within pocket as opposed to either taking off running like he used to , or being a statue like Ryan
I got ya, Bro! I knew what ya meant the first time, but I just had to bust ya on “Marriott’s”! LOL
And I meant it the first time when I said it, thank you!
👍👍
In my come on man play of the week, a Falcon DB blows up jets receiver Mims with 3 seconds left in the half, instead of holding him up or letting him run over the middle
There IS a purpose to preseason games, *believe it or not* (in my Jack Palance voice). It’s not about wins or losses, it’s about individual matchups in order to figure out what sticks or what stinks.
Our team as a WHOLE cannot possibly be judged, but individuals can be judged being they are being put into situations. Some are about reps to get better while some are being scrutinized to death to see if there’s something there (so as to be allocated to the PS or our 53).
We don’t know what we don’t know, y’all.
Like Bill Parcells said; they don’t know what’s happening here.
We’ve all been through this enough times to not over estimate the PS. In two weeks none of us will be talking about it. 🙂
Streveler with a TD pass for stej
Did you say Stifler?
Lol. Close
Streveler lighting it up
Will he start?
Yes, he’s starting the jet
No but they say he has likely passed Mike White for third string behind injured Wilson and back up Flacco
I think he’s better than Wilson and close to Flaccos equal , with a running component
I’d also prefer he ended up back in Winnipeg as opposed to with the stej
Ground caused a fumble, even with contact on tackle, we’ve been lied to all this time😝
Former Bomber Alford caused the INT
So 3rd string it is. LOL
Yep pretty much🤷♂️
I want to see:
LT Armstead
LG Eichenberg
C Williams
RG Hunt
RT Jackson
TE Smythe/Gesicki
QB Tua
RB Edmonds/Mostert etc.
FB Ingold
WR Hill, Waddle, Wilson and Ezukama
So our starters 😊
I kind of think this is what it’s going to look like. 🙂
I would concur yes
Right and we haven’t seen it yet in it’s entirety. 😉
Just finally watching raiders game now …
DLine looked good , all around the qb on 1st drive , despite the fact they drove down for. TD
Raiders qb was getting rid of ball quick
Oh you haven’t seen Ezukanma yet. 😉
Nope but I did read along next morning .. I liked what I read 👍😛
He looks exactly as advertised. 🙂
Phillips looks really good
I’ve been saying he’s going to be a monster. He plays both right and left edge but will also play inside on stunts. Not many 6-5 265 sub 4.6 guys walking the planet that can play football. 🙂
Edmunds and Tua looked good on drive 2
Yep Coleman sux
AVG flying around as well 👍👍
Jaelan Phillips reminds me more of Willie McGinest now than DeMarcus Ware. He’s a bigger/athletic dude.
Phillips had 8.5 sacks as a rookie and set a Dolphins record but somehow he’s ignored outside of Dolphins world.
I won’t be surprised if he’s at 12-20 in 2022. LOL
Would not surprise me ..
Cracraft has good hands.
Toba, has Ezukanma turned you on yet? LOL
No but I also like Sanders the receiver.. thought everyone was rooting the kickers horn lol
Still 3 mins in 1/st 1/2
I assume EZ E goes off once Skyler comes in
Toba, Ezukanma will be your 2nd half love fest. LOL
👍👍
Franks the QB for Atlanta, that finished the game out threw 4 passes in the EZ, that would make Tebow look like a franchise QB, none of them were within 10 yards of his target
Announcers calling fins offence not very good , “likely not even 130 yds”, oops these the stars Fins 118, Raiders 125 LMAO
Or there’s the stats
The EZ E show begins. Then Ahmed with another nice outside run
🙂
Okay so Tuas cousin has been causing me some confusion
Wow
Holy shit Williams caught a ball 😱, and GOT UP
I dunno most of runs , aside from Michel, seem to go for around 3-4 yds … 2nd game where the run game doesn’t seem to meet the disparaging remarks
Okay stop that TD dance … it looks bad,,, rhymes with hey, hey
Dieter is disappointing
EZ is good
Thanks Toba! Holy shit, Thanks Sir Piglet!!
Happy belated b-day Mike!
Catching up on the blog now I’ve watched PS2, I think it would be really cool to drink a bar dry with you guys. Not only because it would be a good laugh, but mostly because you have shite taste in drinks. I’s have all the IPAs, hoppy pale ales, robust red wines and Islay peaty whiskies all to myself. Cheers. This is how I see y’all consuming your beverages 😝. Bunch of red necks. LMAO!
WTF, basket case, closet loafer lighter?
Don’t even want to ask where you found that 🤔
Re-tweeted by Omar! Maybe it’s a club?
I was talking shit to a couple of Fins / Yankee’s fans about this one last night!
ROSTER MOVES | We have waived P Sterling Hofrichter, LB Deandre Johnson and S Sheldrick Redwine. We also placed CB Mackensie Alexander and FB John Lovett on injured reserve.
CBs dropping like flies
Happy belated birthday Mike. Hope you had a great day.
We need UK across the pond at the Fest
For Needham, McDaniel said that he’s “good to go,” and Crossen is “day-to-day.”
I’m really hoping we see Byron Jones get back to practice sometime in the next week. It’s starting to look like he won’t be ready for the opener. I know he’s a vet, but he’s not going to be cleared to practice and play in a game a day later when he hasn’t played or practiced since last January.
Needham is on a 1 year deal. If Jones isn’t ready to go for the opener, Needham likely is our #2 and he has a real opportunity to show he deserves to get a payday next year.
Interesting
Happy belated Birthday Mike E. 🎂🥃
Used car lot!
Oh no, what to do😲
The link has all the NFL teams waived players
Could be worse
Jones is the key, if he plays game 1 we’re good, if not we got Houstons
We need to trade a wr for a cb, but pretty sure no one will do that
Day 16 is over – we’ve got another deep dime from Tua to Tyreek. Blitz was on, Tua lets it go early from the +40. Tyreek was maybe 10 yards off the line when Tua throws as the ball met Cheetah right around the goal line for a TD. Later, similar ball to Gesicki for 60-yard score…

…This one was a good example of the QB seeing the blitz, buying some time by drifting as the protection was a man short for the blitz, and just lays it out there for 88 to run under it. He might’ve had to fend off a tackle from the safety, but it’s minimum a 40-yarder.

Jaelan Phillips picked up a pair of sacks – my favorite was him incorporating a move that he was repping during individuals to bull rush then spin back inside. Early in team, he gets home and shuts down a play with that same move.

Edmonds had a couple of nice second-level pops, most notably behind lead blocks of Eichenberg and Ingold – but the D scored more wins. Wilkins, Baker, Sieler, Ginkel, Eguavoen, E. Campbell all had run stuffs. An Ingram pressure and X closing speed shut down a short pass for a TFL

Emmanuel Ogbah is such a force at resetting a pass pro call – he can walk an edge or guard back, he can shorten the corner and force a step up, consistently impacts the opposing pass game.

Braylon Sanders and River Cracraft made some plays today – Cracraft caught a chunk gain from Tua to start the practice along the sidelines then scored on a what looked like a bust as he’s turned free in the end zone for a 25-yard TD from Teddy.

Thomas Morstead hit 10-15 punts from the -40 – not live, no snap, just kicking… and they either went out of bounds at the 5, or checked up in that same territory.

Short practice — was good to see Waddle moving around at there; looked fast as hell in indys. We’ll cover it all on Drive Time and the camp report on the website.
ok
Michel has looked meh, is his job on the line?
Ingold is back, wonder how no FB affected our running game in PS games 1 and 2
Fullback Alec Ingold has yet to play in the preseason, and McDaniel says that position in itself helps everybody else on offense. Says he anticipates Ingold making his preseason debut against the Eagles on Saturday. He also will be working without a red jersey, which was not the case for the joint practices with Tampa Bay.
Happy birthday Mike, I guess you’re a LEO as well. 🙂

just got my ticket. what hotel are you guys staying at saturday night?
airline ticket
Mike E and a number of the crew stay at Margaritaville, but that can be pricey. Son normally has a good track of where everyone else is staying. And whoever else is on Hollywood Beach can chime in as well.
Sorry I don’t keep that list.
Also you might want to ask Rock if he wants to share a room. He’s another one ticket guy (Ken stays at my place).
We’re in and also staying at Margaritaville
Looking forward to meeting both of you.

this
nice ranking for our WR4
Talk about a cup of coffee.
“the Dolphins placed veteran cornerback Mackensie Alexander on injured reserve, meaning he cannot play for the Dolphins this season unless he and team reach an injury settlement, he goes on waivers and then re-signs with Miami.”
sheesh
I take this to mean (at lest in part) that we are looking to sign another (more) serious (pricey) vet after yet another epic fail by Iggy and Needham’s dislocated finger.
In a bad schedule the jets play again on Thursday, Saleh to play starters as if it was a tune up game
Thought we were the only team that got those bad schedules
Yeah tune them up this game, when the opponent won’t be playing any to build up confidence
So who’s their QB1 now?
Streveler deserves a long look.
Flacco
Stanger buddy,
I’m in if I get medical clearance … go back for post-op follow-up next week.
But I have to pay for the tickets by Monday. Might be able to ask our ticket guy Tim to stretch a little, but do you know when you will know?
There goes sherbert!
too bad about Sheldrick Redwine getting cut, but he did seem too lost too often in the DBackfield out there.
Also the assistant punter got cut, but after a 28-yard punt in the PS2 game, what could he expect?

There are some really good names on this list, such as
Bulaga, Peters, Solder, Shell, Massie …
all flawed but at least they know how to play in the NFL.
A few of them may be injured or have medical issue, not sure though. Same with CB list.
naples — would appreciate an answer to the Q above. I’m sorry if the timing on the call doesn’t work out, but seems on you. If helps any — folks tend to drop out each year. So those tickets can be yours…… and stubhub could get you close and then just move in with us.
If you are still looking for a place to stay, this is not far up the road from Hollywood. It’s just North up towards the pier in Dania Beach. Very quiet and peaceful. They have studio apts for 230.00 a night with full kitchen and gas grill outside for your use. They also have chairs to take to beach which is only 30 yards away and bikes to ride if you want. No smoking anywhere on property. All rooms are on ground floor except a 2 bedroom suite on second floor with a private balcony patio, full kitchen and living room for 500.00 a night. Great for sharing with another couple. Lots of space but don’t get an efficiency room unless you are by yourself as they are cramped, and I don’t think they have a kitchen. Stick with a studio apt or the 2 bedroom.

Beds are a little firm for me but nothing a little alcohol won’t cure.
Dania Beach is on the upswing. Most of the boys will be on Hollywood beach though.

But have a feeling you will be there for sure, which is nice.
Stanger I can take two more tickets if you have them, I can use the two Stubbs doesn’t need.
Done — who are they for?
A boyfriend with my kid
A wife with Bob
Cool — Boulder asked earlier where to stay. Was thinking you could help him out. Told him about margaritteville, but you are the expert of the options on Hollywood Beach. And he’s a first-timer.

Boulder those who don’t stay at Margaritaville usually stay in any of the smaller hotels just to the North of Margaritaville within walking distance along the Broadwalk.
Neptune, Sheldon, Riptide and tons in between me and Stubbs are at Hollywood Dolphin.
Thanks Son
I’m at the Marlin Beachside for first time. All previous times at Walkabout on the boardwalk…
Don’t like to recommend places I haven’t stayed.
We are staying at Hollywood Sands Resort north of Neptunes this time. Didn’t have a good experience at Neptunes last time, they are under new ownership. It’s hard to piss me off as all I need is a pillow and I’m fine. I can drink myself to sleep with the best of them, but they started adding a bunch of charges to things that were available before. Greedy Bastards. 🖕
Does Hollywood Sands have a good “Tunes with the Dog” venue? Not sure how the law works, but was thinking could set up on the beach so long as open Bev is OK and a batroom near.
Don’t know but I’m sure we can play tunes on the beach and the Atlantic is the biggest bathroom I know of 🐕🎼🥃

The punter?
This is why nothing surprises me anymore. WTF?!!
well
Big plays are coming and I think Ezukanma will be part of it.
was that a deep pass? can’t ever tell from just the ball in the air with no reference.
Tua will be fine throwing the deep ball…his anticipation is incredible…he just needs a moment behind an Alabama OL…lol
I think EzE is going to surprise a lot of people this year. He will always be open as #3 or #4 with Waddle and Hill on the field.
If we can run at all this season we are going to be a top 10 offense.
I have HIGH hopes for him. I’m hoping he’s our Brandon Marshall without the baggage
Yes, he should do great, but how often will he be on the field?
Top 3 wrs, then Gesicki, then Edmonds and Mostert, if we get 25-30 completions a game he may get 2 or 3
Ingold will be Armstead insurance, so when Larnell comes in at LT, Ingold will be chipping or straight out blocking the end

With our limited draft this year we’ve done pretty well.
Tindall has looked the part.
Ezukanma same.
Goode has looked good.
Thompson is making a case for keeping 3 QBs or being the backup.
I does seem that way. I can’t think of anything snarky to add so I will just agree. (Grier is on a short leash with me)

UK…Bleh on the Islam’s. May as well eat burnt dirt. A good Speyside like Glen Rothes or a Glenfiddich 18 on the other hand is tasty. Don’t know where you are in the UK, but should you get in the vicinity of East or West Peckinghqm (out by Seven Oaks) there are a couple of good taverns. Swan on the Green (out by the F1 track) does or did traditional cask ales and meads and The Man of Kent was owned and run by the former executive chef of the Intercontinental London. Info is a bit dated as I haven’t been there in ten years. Given both are over 400 years old though, I would say they’re still doing something.
Islays not islams…autocorrect is so ghetto
Thought it was a bit harsh on the Islams Phel 😉
I love me some burnt dirt. Don’t know if you have them in the US but also germoline (antiseptic ointment) and Fisherman’s Friend (cough/cold/throat lozenges), medicinal, along with ozone and salty are often used to describe my favourite drams. Lagavulin 16yr old is probably my favourite. I can drink Glen Rothes and Glenfiddich at a push, but one would be plenty.
I had an ex who had a grandpa who lived in Sevenoaks. Named after the seven oaks, 6 of which were flattened by storm Eunice. This is an infamous moment in our history in some ways.
Here’s the weather forecast:
Here’s the result:

My parents were holidaying on the Isle of White and mum went to the loo in the middle of the night, looked out of the bathroom window after a loud noise and the bedroom roof had been ripped off like the lid of a sardine tin from a neighbouring property and the couple were lying in bed thinking wtf!
Anyway, I digress, I’m in Manchester so over 200 miles away from that location but Kent (the garden of England) is beautiful. I visited loads of pubs down there with my ex who didn’t drink and her grandpa who loved his scrumpy cider. Great memories and the pubs you mentioned really are typical of a lot of village pubs down there, some in former oast houses (where they dried the hops) and I took a wee mental trip down memory lane as a result. So thanks for your post. 👍
Wyo, I meant to get back to the comment I made that you weren’t happy about but I never did. When I said the wheels on the bus go round and round, I didn’t mean it as a short bus or mocking anyone, it was from a Seinfeld episode where Jerry is trying to ignore the naked woman across the street during their bet who will masturbate first. He’s watching cartoons to keep his mind off of it. It was also more about how this blog goes in circles about the same stuff.
I came across this because I had a text file to reply to this and forgot about it. So here it is.

The Miami Dolphins have fielded calls on running back Myles Gaskin
—————-
I sure hope not. Gaskin is a gamer and probably the ultimate 3rd-and-long RB.
Just imagine what Gaskin can do behind our revamped O-Line.
Who’s the source? I’d be surprised if Gaskin doesn’t make the team. Edmonds and Mostert are hand picked by McDaniel and Michel was available. Gaskin is one of those guys who earns his keep every year. I don’t see any other backs jumping this 4. Then a FB.
The way I see it at RB is Edmonds will be given a chance to be a major snap guy both rushing and receiving. Then Mostert as a playmaker #2. Michel if he earns his keep as a guy who gives you some skill and thump. Gaskin gives you reliable.
Gaskin is just a little more than a JAG, I’d rather trade him and put Ahmed on PS, then keep 3 rbs and fb
I think Gaskin is better than Ahmed. Trade him for what, a 2023 6th or 7th round pick? I think Gaskin is a gamer even if a mediocre guy. It’s time to start winning! Deep teams win. We’ll see. We might see some surprises under McDaniel and Co.
CB
Gaskin IS better than Ahmed, which is why they would shop him to see if they can get anything for him. Nobody is giving us anything for Ahmed. PLUS Gaskin will get poached off the PS in a minute, but not Ahmed.
Bummer

Hall-of-Fame QB and broadcaster Len Dawson has passed away, according to his family. He was 87.
RIP
Whether they keep Sony Michel is a factor, but he is an authentic thousand yard rusher in the NFL, just came off winning a Super Bowl, and was a first round pick. If you are going to show patience for a guy to find his fit in your scheme, that is a guy to take a chance on.
Gaskin’s skill set is redundant to Chase’s, which is good because that is what we want, but he was here, and McDaniel went out and hired THREE guys at his position, two of whom are exactly like Gaskin only faster.
sooo …
My thoughts too
Gaskin is there for injury insurance, if he’s starting we’ve got issues
He’s at his best in 3rd down role, but he’s not better at it than Chase or Mostert, Michel has either lost a step or is uninterested in PS/camp
I do hear a whisper that McDaniel likes ZQ White, who btw SCORED, which is something our RBs epically failed to do (besides Duke) last year, whether running or receiving.
IF
a position group must be adjusted due to carrying 3 QBs, possibly RB is the place the coaches want to scrimp. Then put “Dr.” White on the PS to call up in case of injury.
Not a whisper, he flat out said it, I’d rather have him over Gaskin
I know the Tua/MM love-in is well documented, but love this backing Tua gets.
Tua has had to learn a very physically dangerous and mentally taxing job while fending off some of the most serious psycho-warp distractions of any young professional I’ve seen.
forced to replace a wildly popular Hero of the Common Man
multiple bosses (OCs) sometimes 2 at the same time
3 or 4 different business plans (or none)
an upline supervisor who didn’t love him and then got fired
a company boss openly publically seeking his replacement (illegally)
The 2 replacements being a GOAT and a top 5 HOF talent (would’ve been)
a PR nightmare media shit-storm
a worst-in-class security and support team
Armando
Omar
and 5 thousand wannabe GMs all screaming negs
and a raging twitterverse debate about your professional abilities.
sheesh, try to keep your 22 year old mind on clear while
learning your job duties in that world!!
No doubt Naples. MM knows exactly what he’s doing on the man-management side of things. I always think the best man-managers don’t take the one-size-fits-all approach, even though some people like Flores.
Michel might have been used as a decoy in PS2. His OC 2 years ago with the Patriots was standing right across the field as the HC of the Vegas team, so McDaniel would not be giving anything away to smash Sony into the interior of the OL.
Those plays where he got stuffed were about as vanilla as the NFL gets.
They were just plays to set up the next pass, maybe teach Eich something or practice the QB-Center exchange in such a down and distance as Connor needs reps.
That’s out there
I know Tua’s job is a dream job we all wish we had.
and all first jobs are rough
I thought I had it bad in my 20s starting out with a 40-mile commute.
What was your first job like?
My first job in the optical field was a major trip. Some of the funniest stories of things that happened in this field came from there. Really just crazy stuff.
I’d love to hear some of those.
I knew I was in trouble when the guy who hired me said to drive 40 miles into Hellhole Swamp and turn left at the burned out wreck of a laundry truck in the weeds by the highway, and my job was at the end of that road.
This was a job no one else on earth wanted.
Eagles mota starts today
“Now pinch hitting for Pedro Borbon . . . Manny (echo) manny, Mota (echo) mota “
Classic 😃
Loved Manny Mota and the 3 Alous in the OF (Matty, Jesus, and Felipe)
mota not Mota, as in Mexuacan slang for joint
My first legal job was prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases in Brooklyn Family court. Did that for about 4 years and was thrilled to leave. It was not until my 3rd job about 8 years out of law school that I kind of found my path in my profession
wow that’s some heavy shit there Ken, not many light moments or relaxing interactions on that one.
What type of law do you practice now?
Primarily personal injury defense which is civil litigation trial and appellate work. I am in house with a large national insurance company. I do a lot of car accidents, truck accidents and construction site accident cases
I saw some serious shit in Brooklyn Family Court. Some of the worst imaginable things that humans are capable of doing to other humans
One of those guys on the billboards
No Steve one of those guys who guys on billboards have to go up against.
That’s like saying my stuff is stuff and your stuff is crap🤣
That is basically what I do which is tell the other side their stuff is crap
And they tell you the same thing
McDaniel said tight end Hunter Long “had his best week of practice last week and played very good [against the Raiders]. He started off really, really good in OTAs. Then there was a time when he wasn’t making that many plays in the run and pass game.
“His position coach, Jon Embree, had a heart-to-heart with him a week ago. And he really turned it up.”
ooops

My first job was as a dishwasher in a little family restaurant. It was a gourmet restaurant that had 6 platings per meal. Me and a three compartment sink from 5pm to 1am. Oh the memories!
I got paid $15 an hour at 15 YO which was more than school teachers made at the time.
wow $15/hr and time to daydream and flirt with bored waitresses too? … That’s a damn good starter job!!
LOL did I mention it was me with a three compartment sink? I was go go go with angry waitresses needing a plate or a fork or what ever.
Stop whining Rock – you could have been working here! (down from 20 courses). Rated best restaurant in the UK by most.

Ditto, but hole in the wall health food restaurant, worked 3 hours per night, actually worked about an hour (except Saturdays), ate pizza, drank apple juice and messed around with the waitresses, all of which I went to HS with and had known for years
$54 a week cash, less than a mile from home
My first job was working for a bully as a boss. Fortunately, the rest of the office were cool and on my side. The previous incumbent (still with the company) told me that my ex-boss accused him of dumb insolence. I asked what he said. He said he sat there and said nothing. I still piss my pants laughing at that today. Another of his ex-reports actually threw a telephone into a waste-paper bin in the office during a call. The ex-boss used to come into the office on Monday morning and say “fecking hell, I’m hitting that ball well”. He was as fat as butter, short, no doubt blessed with a tiny set of crown jewels and an opinionated wanker. I might be slightly biased as he was a Yorkshireman (as a Lancastrian myself and from the red rose county in terms of the war of the roses) but there is a song we sing to Yorkshire football fans ⚽.
“You go out, you drink 10 pints
And you get really plastered
You go home, you beat your wife
You big fat Yorkshire bastard”
Feel better getting that off my chest.
I love the way the British swear and make fun of people. It is at a whole different level than what us Americans are capable of
Few more for you Ken!

Here’s a variation on the above song at a West Ham game about Northerners. Smh – southern softies!

PS MF13, this is a more accurate reflection – at least of football culture – in the UK. Of course society operates at all levels and we aren’t all tribal hooligans, but I personally love all the banter at games.

wo and I thought the “up-country” vs “low country” (hicks with a twang vs. country-club divas) in SC was toxic!!
btw UK
my home state of South Carolina has 2 counties right next to each other named York and Lancaster. They border the state of North Carolina right at the city of Charlotte where the Carolina Panthers play.
The 2 SC counties are considered to be part of Metro Charlotte.
Their county capitals are the towns of York and Lancaster.
I do not know if they have any holdover enmity from the Wars of the Roses,
because they are 200 miles away from my home town of Charleston.
Perhaps you can give me a heads up on Wilmington then – my best buddy hopes to complete on a house there ~1m from the beach. Did he choose well. What is mentioned on the FMU board stays on the FMU baord.
