This image is still in my head. I went to sleep last night and the loss to the Bengals didn’t bother me in the least. All I could think about was that poor kid lying on the ground with a potentially devastating injury. Thankfully, Tua Tagovailoa was released from the trauma center after just a couple of hours and traveled home with his team. Sometimes you have to separate the humanity from the sport. I wanted us to win this game yet I couldn’t stop thinking about Tua. I saw the game on Sunday, saw him stumble. I was told that an independent neurologist examined Tua and he was cleared of being concussed. I believe this 100%, not everything that happens with the Miami Dolphins is a conspiracy theorist’s wet dream for Gods sake! What happened Sunday has zero to do with what happened last night. This is a violent sport, and that hit last night was evidence of that. It wasn’t dirty per se, it was a physical play that used to be commonplace in any and every NFL game but sometimes the lions bite the gladiators, it happens. Listening to WQAM in Miami, all kinds of “experts” are chiming in on the Tua situation and it really sickens me. I know Ross made the bed and now he has to sleep in it, but this is just too much.
Without any real timetable on QB Tua Tagovailoa’s return, Teddy Bridgewater will be the QB going forward for however long Tua is unavailable. It’s a good thing we’re 3-1 and already 2-0 in divisional play, including knocking off top dog Buffalo. Teddy Bridgewater will get all the snaps and will be better prepared to be at the helm and lead this team. The Jets will have their young QB ( Zach Wilson) back so we won’t be facing Joe Flacco. CB Byron Jones should be back for this game, but will he be opposite X? CB Xavien Howard didn’t finish the game and if you watched the game, I’m not entirely sure he have started it. He clearly is not healthy and was doing his best, but he doesn’t have the speed right now to compete with teams best receivers. Whether or not he can rebound after a long rest, the Dolphins now have 10 days before they play 2 Sundays from now, remains to be seen.
The game last night was pretty odd. We had 7 more yards on offense than the Bengals and Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (15-69) out rushed RB Joe Mixon (24-61) by 8 yards with 9 less carries. We actually had a good chance to take the lead down 20-15 and were driving to score when Teddy Bridgewater threw his first interception of the season with the Dolphins at the Cincy 29 yard line. We actually had a 15-14 lead as the 3rd quarter ended. Despite all that, there are major concerns for me going forward with this defense. We simply cannot get to the QB rushing just 4 or even 5. It’s shocking to me that this is the case because I expected so much more from LB Jaelan Phillips, especially when we added Melvin Ingram to the mix, and Ingram has been playing so well. Phillips has 6 total tackles and 1 sack through 4 games while playing 70% of the defensive snaps. Ogbah has also been neutralized and his stats mirror Phillips, 7 total tackles, 1 sack. With our secondary incomplete, the one on one man to man coverage is not sustainable with Keion Crossen, Nik Needham and Kader Kohou. All of these guys have done admirable work, and I’m not belittling any of them, but we had pro bowl caliber guys like Xavien Howard and Byron Jones back there, so it’s an awful lot to ask of these young players to cover the NFL’s best one on one with no help, because a safety is needed to blitz to provide pass rush help. The defense was built on the foundation of having the best cover corners back there, so you can’t substitute a couple of UDFA’s and expect the same results.
I think our offense is going to be fine, whether it’s Teddy Bridgewater, Tua Tagovailoa or even Skylar Thompson. I would like us to run the ball more, I liked Mostert getting more carries, you give that guy a little crease and he’s gone. Once again though, as I’ve said before, I don’t like our short yardage offense one bit. Not one of our backs can push the pile, we aren’t getting any push up front, and that includes C Connor Williams, LG Liam Eichenberg and RG Robert Hunt. Cincy defense blew up each and every short yardage play which thoroughly disgusted me. Good thing we have a fullback? Can we use him, and can he give a running back a crease? Like how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop, we may never know.
At 3-1, I should be elated, all of us should, and it’s not like last night’s team loss was so disheartening. I think to me it’s the uncertainty of Tua’s health, and my concerns about our defense that have me feeling down, and mostly it’s Tua for me. I feel so bad for the kid. Finally, the kid has someone in his corner, and he balled out with tons of confidence, and now this. As we all know, concussions seem to manifest more concussions. We’ve seen it happen with so many players in the NFL, I just hope Tua doesn’t become one of those players and become one of those statistics. Teddy Bridgewater has had some bad luck in his own right and now takes the reins of a very potent offense. I’m happy for him however long it lasts, and hope he prospers and enjoys success here in Miami.

GO DOLPHINS!!!
Ravens up 14-3 on the Bills.
Bills held to a fg in their first red zone trip. The Bills offense is really, really good, but is showing a pretty big weakness with issues in the red zone.
Jax up 14-0 in Philly. I’m going to have to watch this Jaguars team and see what they are about.
Defense looks very solid and they’re finally getting returns from QB Trevor Lawrence
amazing what a difference a HC can make for a QB, huh?
I guess this illustrates how bad Meyer was
nah
Their QB went to a party school.
Ravens about to go up 3 scores after a Bills fumble.
Let’s see if Allen can bring his team back from 3 scores down against a good Ravens team in Baltimore. Not a lot of QBs in the league that would be able to do that…
only the best!!!

Thanks, man … we’re ok, just shopping for tradesmen to get in here and do repairs.
… so sorry about your grandmother’s house.
Lots of the folks there love it so much they are saying
they are going to rebuild as soon as they are allowed.
It is a fun island.
btw
My little brother finally got services enough to check in with me.
Roof, screen, and water damage, but he’s healthy, so that’s good.
Assuming his kids are ok.
They’re in their 30s, so they’re probably still at the hurricane party.
Spoke too soon, 17-3 ravens, still a two score game.
I’m not ready to write the season off just yet.
Let’s see if Teddy can rise to the occasion. We should be able to beat the jest.
I seem to remember a certain Earl Morral holding down the fort until the starter could return.
But that was before you guys were born.
I actually believe Tua will be back it may take 2-4 weeks but he will be back
yes that is what I’m saying.
Now it’s a 3 score game

At this stage I donāt think weāre in position to challenge for division, making Bills over Ravens the pick, but either way one of those games where 1 is losing
——————-
2-0 Dolphins
0-1 Bills
0-1 Patriots
0-0 Jets
How are we not in position?
Jets up on Steelers 10-3 on the road in Pittsburgh
sorry
not a big Bugs fan
I grew up on Bugs Bunny. One of those after school cartoons.
Steve must have had one of those snap decisions. We’re 3-1 with wins over both the Bills and Ravens. Bills are losing right now, not sure how we won’t or aren’t competing for the division
Considering how bad they were, the Bills have to feel pretty good to only be down 10 at half.
A Bills loss to Ravens not only makes them 2-2, but also gives us a 1 up vs common opponents.
If Ravens and we finish with the same record, we would own the head to head tie-breaker, for seeding purposes or home hosting. (I think.)
Beating both of these teams will really help us for seeding and hosting purposes at the end.
Trubisky has been benched for…
That’s got to suck… first pass in the NFL being an INT.
Hit his man right in hands
Yup! He’s gotta make that catch.
7-19 106 1 int jets franchise QB
7-13 84 1 int Trubisky, Steelers franchise QB
2 ints
Minkah with the luckiest pick 6, now just a pick, he went out of bounds
Wilson got Fitzed, almost pick 6
Zach Wilson sucks…
Well, the morning started off with pretty much all games going our way, now they’ve all flipped
Baltimore better learn to hang onto a lead
Bills tie the Ravens. Can’t hold a lead, or so it seems.
Atlanta back on top
Tom Pelissero
The Dolphins noticed people watching their walkthrough Wednesday in Cincinnati, so they made a sly adjustment: All the clips circulating on Twitter have 12 players on offense. Fake plays? Fake routes on real plays? Either way, Mike McDaniel and company staying one step ahead
Houston only down 3 after being down 27-7 at half
Tough game between the Bills and Ravens, tied at 20 in the rain.
My guy Jordan Poyer with his 2nd INT of the game. That SUCKS!
Lamar Jackson probably wants to come in and play defense
Is it better if the Ravens and Bills tie?
Fuck you Ravens!
Should have let him score
Colts lost, good; I hate the Colts.
Browns lost, good; I hate the Browns.
Jags lost, ok; I don’t want them to beat us out of a wild card.
Vikings won. I really don’t want them to become good.
We need to be able to beat them.
Browns lost so there’s that.
and Jags
Texans lost, good; I hate the Texans.
Total mismanagement of the clock by the Ravens. Dammit.
Hope the Bills win over the Ravens doesn’t come back to haunt us.
Talking about potential tie-breaking scenarios down the road.
Steelers going to lose to Jets
Ravens lost, good; I hate the Ravens.
Bears lost; no one cares.
Commanders lost, good; I hate the Commanders.
I feel about their owner like OD does ours. š
Steelers lost, good; I hate the Stealers*.

Cheats in last place
Lets go Raider’s, Packers and Bucs!
I see Kenny Pickett had a perfect completion percentage today!
10 to his own team and 3 to the other team! 10/13 with 3 INTs!
That is seriously a RARE thing!
Naples,
GREAT to see your sense of humor is still intact after all you’ve been through, man!
On Thursdays, country music (NO OFFENSE to country music lovers out there!) is played at work. As soon as the song is over, I say, “Glad that song is over. That’s the worst song I’ve ever heard”.
Translation: x team lost, good. I hate that team. LOL
š
Thatās what i say after every rap and hip hop song I hear. When Iām being nice.
Understood, Phelon. No harm, no foul, pal. EVERYBODY has the right to like what one likes.
And for whatever it’s worth, I’ve got a few country artists on my playlist.
I find that I enjoy watching our division rivals games a hell of a lot more when they are chasing us in the division. I had forgotten what that feels like.
I hope to see the Pets lose today, but even if they win they are still bottom of the division, lol.
I see Mac Jones was ruled out for today. Hoyer is starting.
Hoyer’s being evaluated. Zappe in at qb for the pets
-‘
Stupid phone
If Hoyer comes back in, there won’t be any backlash for them. It’s the Pats.
Whatās a Bailey Zappe?
I think it’s a new vape pen
That wasn’t a horse collar tackle. He had him by the jersey. I’ll take it though.
I feel bad for Dan Campbell. How many 1 score games have the Lions lost in the last 20 games?
They lost 6 one score games and had 1 tie in 17 games last year.
Their 3 losses this year are all by 3 points.
My Pats buddy was pounding the table for Zappe to start over Jones in the PS
Sheesh, Green Bay

Well there is this?
Stanger, c’mon, man. And let us pretend that several other Republicans have not been targeted for murder. I’ll give you the National Baseball game where Steve Scalice (and others) barely escaped with their lives, Rand Paul and his neighbor, and last but not least, Justice Kavanaugh.
MTG is correct, and you are WRONG.
Let’s keep it football, Bro.

Had a great time at the Astro’s game last night!
It’s just as well I was “offline” for a day and a half!
Wow, I guess the patriots get a 42 second play clock
Right ?! Wtf
Rodgers sucks. If they couldn’t run the ball, Pats would be up 2 scores with their 3rd string QB.
Zappe was actually a good college QB. I followed him along with Skylar and a few others. Skylar was my guy halfway through the college season.
Both Skylar and Zappe looked good in PS

GB secondary doesn’t want to tackle Stevenson
MTG is an asshole. At least she’s not POTUS, but it’s obvious assholes can ascend to the highest office. I’ll leave that here . . .

BB Mike,
Did ya see what Tyler Allgeier did today?!! None too shabby for a BIG back!
No, I didn’t. I can only get the CBS game here at work.

Cool, Pats and Broncos lose.
Didnāt Aaron Rogers get the sling blade haircut?
Gonna suck rooting for the Bucs and Brady.

Through the first 4 games of the season, the Dolphins and Bills are the only teams in the AFC with 3 wins (pending the KC/Tampa game).
TBH, I am more nervous about playing at Detroit than I am at home vs Green Bay.
Geese
First 3 games Bucs defense only gave up 27 points total.
Through less than 3 quarters they have given up 38 to the Chiefs.
Hmmmmm?
Bucs TE got dinged up. Came out of game and talked to team trainers and team doctor then went back in game. Didn’t get hit again but suddenly he is out for the game with a concussion even though they let him go back in the game.
We need an investigation
Man, that Braves sweep is still stinging. What a shame that one series can make a 100 win season a disappointment, but that’s how it is. They just needed to win one game to hold the edge, they couldn’t get it done.
I kind of tuned out this weekend after the loss and injury to Tua. I am surprised that we are still the number one seed in the AFC this morning. Yay! Go Dolphins. Beat the Jet’s next Sunday and keep first place.
As I said before the first game. Never look back.
Well, there needs to be an investigation of the Pats right away. It is OBVIOUS they are tanking. “there is not way a Belicheat team would perform so poorly unless it was on purpose”
1-3 Pats? CALL FOR AN INVESTIGATION!
You can see Belicheat at every press conference with his shit eating smile, joking around and shit. That is not a normal Belicheat.
I hope your right
That’s in the past, he sucks now, hope MM has a short leash
We need to blowout the jets to get Skylar some reps, but I have no faith in Betty
āThe Dolphins plan to be very cautious with Tagovailoa, and when he returns to game action will depend on his recovery and passing the five phases required in the leagueās concussion protocol system,ā Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported. āFor those reasons, it is undetermined how many weeks he could miss.
āMRI and CT scans came back clean, and heās doing well, according to sources.
āESPN reported Sunday that images of Tagovailoaās brain are being sent to three independent doctors to obtain as many opinions as possible about his condition. As of Saturday, there was nothing new or alarming that surfaced in the medical examination of Tagovailoaās head and neck.ā

Joe Flacco sustained a concussion on Thursday night football and played the following Sunday.
If Tua passes all the tests he should play this week. Regardless of the feelings of people in the press.
They will find a negative to pick out regardless of the facts.
Itās really a medical decision as far as I am concerned
The last thing the team should do is be guided by PR
I hope Tua is cleared to play against the Vikings š

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel ruled out quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on Monday for the team’s Week 5 game against the New York Jets due to the concussion that Tagovailoa suffered on Sept. 29 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Michael Irvin:
… the attacks on McDaniel’s character are unwarranted

My October 2023 mock draft.
8. Kelee Ringo CB Georgia
56. DeMarvion Overshown LB Texas
72. Warren McClendon OT Georgia
88. Dalton Kincaid TE Utah
156. Keeanu Benton DT Wisconsin
168. Tykee Smith S Georgia
220. Israel Abanikanda RB Pittsburgh
wow this is early,
but I do agree we need to draft a top CB and the best ILB/MLB we can get.
There’s no way we end up picking at #8. #18 much more likely.
Mike McDaniel has ruled Tua out this weekend versus the Jets.. He Said it will be week-to-week after that and confirmed that Tuaās MRI came back clean. Tua is in the building today….
With all the national attention on this (right or wrong)…. when Tua gets behind center all the I’s will have been dotted and all the T’s crossed.
What I think as well. I am guessing he may be able to clear protocol but thereās no way they are going to put him on the field next week
So now it’s official, because you wrote itš
When I grew up they used to say seeing the first robin was a sign of Spring. Down here the sign for winter is bigger — just had the first Mantee sighting.
Looks like the team is going to cave in to the sea of twitter torches and pitchforks.
Pretty much
And the Union.
Definitely the Union
Unfortunately I think they have to. I think Tua needs to miss as least one game.
When thinking about Tua’s return consider….
“The only other Dolphin to experience a concussion this season, tight end Cethan Carter, has not yet returned to practice since first getting concussed in the Sept. 11 opener against New England Patriots.”
But it is Cethan Carter

And they need secondary help bad.
“Cornerback Jimmy Smith, a Baltimore Ravens lifer who was part of the team that won Super Bowl 47, announced on Monday that he’s retiring from the NFL after 11 seasons, and will sign a one-day contract so he can retire with the only team he’s ever played for.”

Just going by where the pick was slotted heading into this past weekend with 49er’s record at 1-2. If they win, it will drop. If they lose tonight to the Rams, it should stay a top 10 pick.
I do agree the pick will be more near a mid 1st. If 49er’s finish 9-8, we could very well have Pick #18.
There are 3-4 really good CB’s to choose from who are 1st round talent.
Ringo is CB1 in my book. He’s a 6’2 205 CB who runs in the 4.3’s and hits like a safety. Excels in man coverage
I could see getting a CB. Oh but for Iggy.
