Hopefully Armstead can make it back this week. He will have three weeks to get healthy- dude is a gamer though. He’s played through a lot of painful injuries.
Have had
How does he have 3 weeks? Don’t we play next week?
2 weeks he didn’t play plus week coming up =3
He last played 2 weeks ago, if he plays next week that’s 3 weeks
Making it a still makes it look worse. Those guys coached together for years.
“You complete me.”
Looks like we may have a new DC.
I would love that but Saleh ain’t going anywhere
lol, of course he isn’t.
Let’s go Lions! I hate the Packers
Florio said Tua is still in stage 5 today … long way to go but tomorrow is a new day
Florio is Pissed the Steelers didn’t make it.
That doesn’t mean anything. They can clear multiple stages in a single day
Stage five is full clearance
Right. It goes low to high
Well that what I get for listening when he speaks 🤷♂️
I loved the fact that Howard ended his season with 2 nice plays against Wilson
And Sanders ended him with a 50 yd game winner that sent us to the playoffs. A couple of redemptive moments for those players.
lol
*’his’
Indeed
Agreed
Yeah playing a deep zone, when he knew they had to throw deep, Howard got beat like a drum the rest of game, Wilson 8-89
9-89
Tim,
He missed the last two games and we play next week : 3 weeks
Come on Tim, you’re a music guy, one and one and one…is 3
Guess he got the memo on the PI
Riddick yesterday called it menu
We beat the jets, made playoffs for first time in 6 years, yet it doesn’t feel like it
Wilson was owning X all game long. He needed help, actually whoever was covering Wilson was getting abused. There should have been safety help much more often. Seemed like Boyer finally caved at the end of the game. Luckily, it wasn’t too late
Love this pick with #1 silhouetted
Was Tua not allowed to be on the sidelines?
Don’t know
Maybe the NFL is afraid players in concussion protocol can accidentally get hit in the head
https://twitter.com/whitepeppergdf/status/1612267795877707776?s=46&t=D7IPe12GEsMMVWA_1aHy1w
Our D line was dominate and controlled the game today. It’s amazing to me we ended up with zero sacks.
*dominant
We did get pressure and hit Flacco often
Pretty much every time he dropped back.
Did Mostert get hurt?
Yes injured his thumb
Yeah – they reported him as questionable in the 4th qtr
The jest didn’t run a single play in the redzone.
Their offense is abysmal. No TDs in last 4 games
38 yards rushing
1.9 ypc
Yep, they had one 12 yd run and 19 carries for 26 yds the entire rest of the game, lol.
I’d love to see the Lions spoil the Packers playoff bid
Yes, but I hate Seattle
I’ve never really felt anything one way or the other for Seattle. I’m pulling for Campbell though.
Gesicki was our leading receiver with 4 catches for 46 yds.
We won today, so we are 2nd in the division.
If we’d lost, we’d be last in the division.
Just announced
We got Sunday at 1pm
Watching the Dolphins the last few weeks and finally make the playoffs be like watching Topper landing this plane.
I’m happy for our players who’ve worked so hard and never quit. They deserve to think of themselves as a playoff team.
I’m happy for McDaniel. With all the injuries and non football crap he had to put up with, he deserved the playoff berth.
I’m extremely happy for myself not having to think all off season about the patsies beating us out on the last day.
Not too many rookie HCs earn a playoff slot.
Not very many first year HCs finish with a winning record.
Very few do both.
McDaniel got into the playoffs with no draft picks from rounds 1-6 helping at all, but his 7th rounder as the winning QB in the finale.
I hate to say it, but I think the Tua situation is as much a political situation as it is health situation. By political I don’t mean Democrats and Republicans but NFL. I think they want Tua out because they don’t need another concussion controversy or have another player down receiving medical attention and then taken off the field with a cart or ambulance. I don’t see how he can’t clear concussion protocol by now, he reported concussion symptoms December 26th, it’s Jan 9th now and will be almost 3 weeks at game time.
But what a psychological lift it’ll be for the team if he can play and be at least 90%.
He plays well against Buffalo.
No question, Tua brings the possibility of competing in this game. I don’t think either Skylar or Teddy gives us that chance
The NFL would love nothing more than a Tua vs Josh Allen match up. Good for ratings and generally good entertaining football.
So I guess keeping 3 QBs on the 53 turned out to be the right move after all.
A big mystery to me is how badly Ingram and Chubb tailed off in the last 6 games.
Their PFF numbers have sucked.
PFF doesn’t understand what situational football means
Since our O has faltered teams haven’t had to score as many points against us, and were able to just play, while taking less chances, it shows up in D stats
You take those guys off the roster and see what effect it has
Leave it to the Dolphins to make it to the playoffs to spite me after I have decided to tune out the NFL. Glad for you guys. They aren’t going to suck me back in without a win next week though.
Here’s hoping they suck hard….lol.
Glad this isn’t a manic Monday
Playing on Sunday is good for this week withvweather and all , but if we win we’ll have likely a short week next week, as they seem to play the #1 seeds on Saturday for div rounds
I’m not looking past Bills, just looking at the daunting schedule we’d have to endure to get to SB, likely 3 wins on road against Buff, KC and Cin
I almost posted something similar to this last night.
On the road at Bills, KC, then likely Cincy. That would be one hell of a SB run.
Winning with 3rd string rookie 7th rder QB to get into playoffs is no easy task in general, good thing we played the trainwreck jets
Sanders…bout time, after missing at least 3 kicks this year, that indirectly led to losses
My hope this week is we’re competitive early, then have a chance to win with O on field and under 5 minutes to play

Dolphins’ Cethan Carter: Goes to IR with concussion
Rotowire OCT 8, 2022
Miami placed Carter (concussion) on its injured reserve list Saturday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Carter has not played this season since suffering a concussion in the Dolphins’ season opener versus New England. Now he’ll have to miss at least the team’s next four games as he works his way back onto the field.
I don’t for a second pretend to be a concussion expert, or even have in-depth knowledge of the protocol, but this is what the Fins did for Carter. The case looks problematical. Who knows – Tua’s may be the same. I don’t think he’s out of the protocol yet so isn’t even cleared for practice, but as I mentioned last night, I wouldn’t be even slightly surprised if MM wraps #1 in cotton wool and we’ve seen the last of Tua this season. Mac is a certain way and I get the feeling he’d rather give it all up than compromise his way for anything. His comments about Ross giving him a chance last night also speak to this. If Tua gets 100% clearance from all medical staff, MM has a decision to make. I’m quite sure Tua will want to go and make it difficult for him.
Let’s say this was Marino in 84 and he had a concussion and Shula kept him out of SB
You only get so many chances at the playoffs and SB, let’s let the player decide, after he’s cleared by drs
In mitigation, Marino had no concussions prior to the SB I know of Steve. And if he is cleared medically, I’m sure he’ll want to go. He’s a competitor with an abnormal amount to try to prove to an abnormal number of detractors. My thinking is MM may try to oppose it. Don’t know for certain, obviously, and don’t know much resistance, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Even though Saleh and MM got in a clinch last night, I still think MM carries a torch for Tua 😘
Marino was hypothetical, just to show how precious their playing time is
I’d be disappointed, if Tua doesn’t play Sunday, but with what it will take to make the SB, not sure the risk is worth it
People will say, one concussion doesn’t increase the chance of the next, but there’s something Tua isn’t doing to protect himself, that he really needs to figure out before he hits the field again
If Tua doesn’t play Sunday I doubt Skylar will be the QB, Betty or Ostrich neck will be in
Steve, if he was injured on the play where his head hit the turf, there is nothing he can do to protect himself from that- his head didn’t even hit that hard. That happens every game .
I would replace Eich for this game if Armstead is back. He is atrocious, and should be used for nothing more than a back up until he shows improvement.
To really good acquisitions for the team!
anybody seen a minutes played chart for that jest game?
I thought I saw Robert Jones in at LG, but not sure.
Did Eich slide out to LT when Little got dinged?
Did Shell miss any plays after he got rolled up on?? If so, who played RT?
I might have to play the tape on this.
Thanks Wyo.
So Jones did play 19 snaps … Eich was out for 7 and Shell was out for 12.
But Little didn’t miss any snaps, and it appears Eich might’ve played RT while Shell was out.
was happy to see Ezukanma finally be active, and he got in the game for 10 plays, and he got his first catch of the year!
I was thinking it would be double digits
Is that considering Tua not playing?
And Thompson starting?
in 2022,
The Miami Dolphins are in the playoffs.
The New England Patriots missed the playoffs.

Something new, Steelers getting calls
Doesn’t look good!
Mostert sustained a thumb injury against the Jets on Sunday, leaving his status very much in doubt for Sunday’s playoff game at Buffalo (1 p.m., CBS). The nature of the thumb injury sustained by Mostert on Sunday against the Jets typically sidelines running backs for multiple weeks. Grasping and carrying the ball becomes impossible with this type of injury.

UK – Tim mentioned that Tua was listed as DOUBTFUL for this game. That means he’s on the cusp of playing, he not out indefinitely
Not sure that’s true Mike – seems more like wishful thinking?
https://www.miamidolphins.com/team/injury-report/
“We’ll take it day by day,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. “And I will not think about any game — whether this year or next year — until he’s fully ready. And that will require medical clearance.”
“In regards to Tua, I have been advised by medical professionals that it’s critical that Tua worries only about the day that he’s currently in and nothing else,” McDaniel said. “He is in the building, but beyond that, as medical professionals will tell you, any added pressure, anything beyond that day does not behoove the process at all so I will take that very serious and worry about his health first and foremost, and take the advice of medical professionals.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time a HC has used smoke and mirrors, esp against a divisional opponent, but there doesn’t appear to be much light at the end of the tunnel now. Of course, the process could speed up quickly.
Tua was ruled out on Friday
https://www.miamidolphins.com/team/injury-report/
Sure I’ve seen that report somewhere before? 🤔😉😂
Ahhh, but you did not make the point (or at least make it clear) that he was ruled out on Friday, not listed as doubtful. I made that point succinctly which cut through all the chaff, then I reposted the report to back up my statement clearly.
It was not a ‘you beat me to it moment’ or a ‘I didn’t realize you had already said this’ so much as it was a ‘here let me end this debate quickly’ moment. Ergo, I believe no beer is required.
With all that said, I’ll happily get the next round 😉
🍻
Although now that I look at your statement again, I guess the “I’m not sure that’s true” was for the ‘doubtful’, so maybe I do owe you a beer. 😭
I’m certainly not going to split hairs, especially when presented with a Kong sized pint!!!!!! Muchas Gracias! (the I’m not sure that’s true was very much about doubtful – didn’t want to call Tim out). I’ve been hoping Tua might be cleared for practice even if they just see how he does throwing the ball. It’s not unrealistic that even though Tua wants to go, he starts getting happy feet in an actual game faced with pressure (especially from a team who already put him flat on his back)! All idle speculation, but what else is there to do until next Sunday?
For some reason I attached the ‘not sure that’s true’ only to the 2nd part of Mike’s statement about Tua being on the cusp of playing, but I see that was my own lack of reading comp. Enjoy your beer, lol.
and here I though I was being so clever 🙄
Black Monday
WOW!
“Cleveland Browns requested permission to interview Steelers’ LB coach Brian Flores for their defensive coordinator job, per source2.
Flo finally gets Watson? They deserve each other.
Can we consider Kader Kohou’s season a success? Or was he just the best of the worst left? Undrafted guy comes in and earns the starting spot and plays well enough to “keep” the job when the injuries piled up. The kid was THE MOST TARGETTED CB in the league this year and wound up tied for 4th in tackles by a CB with 67.
Is he a starter or does he go back to the bench when someone else gets healthy?
If he can play the slot, that’s where I’d put him, because he’s great in run support off the edge
Also depends on what we do with Byron
Kader Kohou is a keeper for sure. Starter or not depends on who else is there. Don’t think he starts over Bryon Jones or Needham, but who knows. Both were just majorily injured. Might not come back.
I think he is a starter. He will only be better next year.
Mostert: broken thumb. That sucks .
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
Sources: #Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert suffered a broken thumb in the playoff-clinching win over the #Jets. He gained 71 yards on 11 carries and was explosive. Now, status is in doubt against the #Bills.
Unfortunately, Mostert has been hurt a lot throughout his career. I think RB is somewhat of a priority.
Yeah, just shitty timing for the playoffs
We just can’t catch a break with injuries this season
UK – he didn’t practice at all this past week, but is it possible he was DOUBTFUL on Wednesday or Thursday?
Doesn’t mean anything straight up one way or the other
MM could Belucheat it and lie knowing there’s no way he’s playing, making jets account for him in prep
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced their team award winners for the 2022 regular season. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill was named the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa earned the Don Shula Leadership Award, fullback Alec Ingold was named the team’s Ed Block Courage Award winner and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah earned the Nat Moore Community Service Award.

That was real quick from out on a machine after your heart stops to going home. World Class body dynamics at work.
The key was it happened in a place where he got the treatment (CPR) he needed at a critical time, doesn’t hurt that he was young and in great shape
You are preaching to the quire on that one. If my heart attack didn’t happen in the ER would have been game over.
Emotional support pet, our govt has made it so no one is ever held accountable, well except for those…
There is a real need for emotional support animals. They go through serious training for people with serious mental health issues. Problem is people who own Trixy and Floppy have learned it is a loophole to get them on a plane. The people who train these animals don’t like it either cause see the backlash coming.

Mike Giardi on NFLN just now said he’s heard from people in Miami that Tua wants to play on Sunday.
I know that doesn’t mean he will but I take some encouragement in it
He wanted to play last week too
Baker Mayfield helped the Panthers, Rams and Lions miss the playoffs in the same year, that takes talent.
🤣
My apologies for not answering questions those who asked me questions during the game. I was busy juggling my tequila and my phone while maintaining some decorum and not winging a full can of water at some jerk who thought being a super fan meant standing up for every play.
Fewest green jerseys I have ever seen at a Biplanes game. We actually had a home team advantage. It was very loud.
I’m surprised not many puke green jerseys. Thought Yets fans infested the area. Maybe the seasons holders decided not to sell their tix.
Definitely a green infestation in the area, but with nothing to play for on a beautiful day, they must have polluted some other venue.
Only the defensive plays….
Lol
Cardinals fired Kim and Kingsbury
Keim
Miami was lucky it was Flacco they were facing. Dude moves about as well as this guy:
“Coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Tagovailoa has not yet been cleared for any football activity after entering the concussion protocol Dec. 26. The team hopes to get further clarity on his status by Wednesday, per McDaniel, who added that there haven’t been any setbacks and that the quarterback is in good spirits despite missing Miami’s final two games of the regular season.”

I suspect this was always the plan
MY WIFE ASKED ME “What do you want for your birthday??”
My 2nd request was “I want Tua to lead the Dolphins to their first playoff win this century!!”
My third request was “another FAU basketball victory.” They are currently 14-1.
Mrs. OD didn’t ask what my first request was (after 36 years of marriage). She already knows.
OK, bring on the cheap shots!!
PS: Tomorrow I’ll collect on my preseason bet that Miami would win at least 9 games this season. My “agent,” who placed the bet in Tennessee (where it is LEGAL), will meet me at work. Many of you may remember I predicted Miami’s record would be 9-7-1.
Finally, I’ll take TCU to cover the 12 and 1/2 point spread in tonight’s National Championship Game.
You’re Prediction??
I like Georgia to cover
Happy Birthday OD, remember the “o” in Buffalo is how many super bowl wins, all the best buddy
YES, the “O” in Buffalo stands for Super Bowl wins!!
There are accusations that the Texans hired Lovie Smith to tank and then fired him after his one tank season. That’s the NFL M.O. – you hire a black coach to lose and then fire them. Or maybe That’s not it at all, not even close
Well Lovie had the last laugh going for 2
Lovie will be fine, he’ll make plenty of money for 3 years.
Happy Birthday OD!!
Happy Birthday, OD!!!
Happy Birthday OD!
🎂🍻🏈🥳🎁
THANK YOU, Fellas!
My birthday is on Sunday.
I’ve waited 23 years to win another playoff game. Maybe THIS is the year!
And you, too, Herdfan!
Happy Birthday
oldERdolfan
Have some pork
Happy birthday, OD.
Pretty cool the league gave you a Dolphins playoff game on your day.
PREVIOUSLY, I’ve reported that the completion of the one and only PERFECT SEASON took place the night before my birthday, January 14, 1973. A dear friend of mine said, “Hey, isn’t tomorrow your birthday?” I replied “YES!”
He responded, “Well, shit, why don’t we just keep drinking and celebrating until the sun comes up?”
By the time the sun did come up, I had the worst pounding headache of my life!!! I spent most of my birthday trying to get that axe out of my head!! And I promised myself I would NEVER get that drunk, again!!
HOWEVER, in the very unlikely possibility that the Dolphins ring up ANOTHER PERFECT SEASON, I reserve the right to decide the exact length of THAT celebration, too!
———————————————-
LOOKS LIKE the reports of the imminent demise of the Southeastern Conference are a bit premature. WHAT AN ASS-KICKING Georgia is placing on TCU!!!
———————————————-
Time to walk the greyhound and say “Good Night!”
I believe Tua will start. We have no chance without him.
Man this game is embarrassing for TCU.
TCU ??? or TC-pewwwww
UT and Oklahoma probably shitting their pants at their decision to join SEC right now. lol
Lol…
All it takes for Tua to play on Sunday is to clear the protocol and decide if he feels ready to play. I’m pretty sure he’ll want to play.
TIM, I agree we have NO CHANCE AGAINST THE BILLS if Tua doesn’t play. And I certainly DON’T want to see ANOTHER game that resembles the Georgia-TCU disaster!!
ESPECIALLY on my birthday!!

I’d say it’s doubtful Mike! 😉
My understanding is you can only practice if you have cleared protocols and if you don’t clear protocols, aren’t you “impossible” (= out). The only way I think your scenario would be possible is if he cleared protocols but was held out of practice for non-football reasons (i.e. MM didn’t want him practicing).
In view of these tweets though, I’d say Kong nailed it earlier in the thread
I see Ken’s 9:42pm post covered this now!
He who laughs last ………..
Definitely should have been a flag for taunting on this play!?!

I know it’s way too early for this type of discussion, but I am starting to wonder about Chris Grier. He’s risen from area scout, via Director of Scouting to GM and we haven’t won a play-off game since he’s been with the Fins (2000). I do think he has made some good pick-ups recently, both in the draft and via FA, but he has still never filled a roster with enough talent to win us a play-off game (and yes coaching is an element of that too). I’m not calling for his head just yet, but as I look at this team, with the obvious flaws that we are all too acutely aware of, I ask myself is the man in charge of the roster the right man? We need quite a few fixes this off season and we don’t have many picks to play with. Anyway, like I said, a discussion for the doldrum months.
No it’s not too early. He is a failure.
A lot of he said/she said, but two ex-Dolphin connections involved here
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35393227/how-bills-bengals-led-way-damar-hamlin-collapsed
Based on that, Dawn came out of it relatively well.
A lot of lies in that article especially from the NFL, mostly Vincent, but also Goodell
Not sure they had enough info though early, they were mostly playing CYA after the fact
Fact is it was reported, that play would resume in 5 minutes, after Damar was taken away
Then Bill’s coach came onto the field met with Cin coach, then they went to locker rooms
For sure Bill’s coach said my guys aren’t resuming play
Now it’s on the NFL, the delay happened, because they were trying to resume play, then after an hour they gave in and cancelled
IDK if Damar said this on his own, but if he did what a Saint
https://www.si.com/nfl/bills/news/buffalo-bills-live-game-updates-damar-hamlin-apology-josh-allen-afc-playoff-picture-dolphins
Playing the Bills this week reminds of how compassionate Tua was with Allen, after we beat them early in season
I hate the games where 2 rivals play and it gets chippy, especially when its us, don’t see that happening Sunday
Scientists are putting it mainly down to human-driven climate change.
FYI, exactly the same amount of rain falls every year
SMMFH, the biggest conspiracy since the earth is flat
https://www.newsweek.com/lake-meads-water-levels-rising-dead-pool-1772317
Exactly the same amount of rain falls on earth every year
And “climate” is where and how much it is allocated.
Point was human-driven is a conspiracy theory, really just a lie, but since you’re into those too what’s the difference
But you were wrong as usual of course.
Did you dig up Hilllary’s fact checker for reference again
What are the chances that Tua had/has lingering effects from the concussion such as double vision? Would help explain some of those throws he made.
Thought the same thing after I found out he had a concussion
Belicheat needs 31 reg season wins and 19 overall to pass Shula in both, so expect him to coach for a while longer, about 10 more years😝 until he passes Don
Herd – if Tua was seeing double and didn’t say anything to coaches that’s crazy
Maybe there will be an Anti-Climate Change vaccine
Dolphins finsihed 9-8 and “Tagovailoa quarterbacked the Dolphins in all but one of their nine wins.” Yeah Tua matters.
Miami finished 11th in points per game (23.4) and sixth in yards per game (364.5).
Tua, playing or not….
I don’t think it’s political so maybe I’m naive.
I do think a lot of reputations/risks could be on the line…..
I also wonder how long, on some level, has Tua’s brain “accidents” affected or contributed to his poor performances….we will never know.
This also speaks to how little we know about the central nervous system and it’s traumas….just saying…lol
To say it’s all gone after a brief respite is reaching, imo. The body remembers.
Every one has a right to choose and take risks….
You don’t think the NFL is extremely concerned and worried about the optics of Tua playing and potentially getting concussed again?
I still think the NFL prefers a Tua vs Josh Allen match up
CTE doctors have said once a person clears concussion protocols that the brain has already healed itself and there is no amount of extra time off that makes any difference. But the media seems to think that it does and it makes them feel good to be on the side of caution.
It’s far from just the media, I think a ton of people think that, including all my friends
And they’re all wrong.
