Dolphins WR Corps 2026

I know and you also know what the depth chart looks like right now on June 14th, 2026. Veteran signings WR Jalen Tolbert (Cowboys) and WR Tutu Atwell (Rams) along with Dolphins veteran Malik Washington take up the 3 top spots on the depth chart. I feel like that will be short lived, and by short lived, I wouldn’t even be surprised if it didn’t even make it to the season’s start. You have to understand where I’m coming from. In no way am I inferring that this team isn’t going to try and win, but there’s also no pressing need to win immediately. Wins and losses won’t be the determining factor of the success or failure of this team. Expectations are very low, and therefore, there simply is no pressure to win games. What that translates to my mind, is we also don’t need to give up playing to two WR’s (Tolbert and Atwell) who are both on 1 year contracts over giving our young WR’s a much needed learning experience of the playing against NFL talent and the speed and physicality of the game.

Is it possible that before Week 1 of the ’26 NFL Season that our depth chart still has Tolbert and Atwell at the top? Sure, but I wouldn’t bet on it lasting all too long. We drafted two Wide Receivers in RD 3, although one of them (Chris Bell) will likely start the season either on IR/Return or the PUP list, WR Caleb Douglas will be given every chance to earn playing time and potentially even start. Depending on how the Dolphins choose to use WR Malik Washington, who is probably better suited as a slot WR, they did also draft in the 5th RD slot WR Kevin Coleman. Washington is a very shifty guy who can get open but he’s a diminutive WR at 5’8 195. Washington can play outside as well, but his strengths are more tuned to catching passes closer to the line of scrimmage and then use his quick burst and change of directions skills like a RB to make defenders miss. We saw an awful lot of that last season with Tua to Washington.

If WR Malik Washington does play in the slot, then it’s even more likely that WR Caleb Douglas will be given lots of opportunities to get playing time. We have training camp and then of course the preseason for Douglas to open some eyes. WR Kevin Coleman will too, and depending on how far along WR Chris Bell is with his rehab, maybe him as well. WR Chris Bell was injured November 22, 2025, so I would tend to think the Dolphins will be careful with him and as I mentioned previously, he’ll either start the season on IR/Return or the PUP list. I also like WR Theo Wease, who got a little playing time at the end of the season with QB Quinn Ewers, when Ewers replaced the beloved Tua at QB. Not beloved by me, mind you, but by some of you. Anyway, Wease flashed some ability and he’s one of a few Dolphins WR’s with some size. Wease is 6’2 210, Douglas is 6’3 205, and Chris Bell is 6’2 220. I don’t know about you guys and gals, but I’d love to have a big bodied wide receiver or two to give teams with smaller corners a difficult matchup. I understand that we have a good receiving TE in Greg Dulcich, but it’s nice to have options. QB’s seem to always find a guy or guys that they trust, they kind of develop this bond and just have this special chemistry and they end up looking their way when they need a big catch. It seemed like Ewers and Wease had that early on, but I’m sure QB Malik Willis will find his own guys soon enough.

Impossible to say how many Wide Receivers we will carry on the opening day roster, but the roster crunch, as well as being cautious once again points to WR Chris Bell not being available early on so another player can occupy his roster spot. It’s likely we’ll be carrying 3 TE’s on the roster, Dulcich, Kacmarek and Traore. I’d expect 9-10 players on the O-line, Paul, Proctor, Brewer, Savaiinaea, Jackson, Salyer, Heck, Campbell and maybe even Kion Smith. Congratulations to C Aaron Brewer who was given a nice new extension 3YR/$52.5M. He earned it with an excellent 2025 season. The unknowns on the right side, namely RG Jonah Savaiinaea and RT Austin Jackson will necessitate keeping a few guys at the ready. Savaiinaea because he was flat out awful, and Jackson because he can’t stay on the field, missing 20 games over the previous 2 seasons. I’d expect us to carry 3 or 4 running backs, or 3 running backs and a fullback. FYI, the Green Bay Packers did not employ a FB, but this isn’t the Green Bay Packers offense either per se. We’ll see how that situation evolves during camp and the preseason, or maybe we won’t. I do think we should get at least a vague idea if we will utilize a FB at all though. What are your thoughts on the WR room? BTW, we do actually have a comments section here. 🙂

WRs only have to be as good as the situation you put them in

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

If we can run the to the tune they stack the box, our WRs can be avg, if we can’t run the ball well enough our O will be bad, until we do

at times with Hill and Waddle and no running game the O was stagnant, with a running game these WRs will perform above expectancy

they’re going to have to be good enough to make plays with a stacked box. 3rd downs, with no threat of the run could be an issue, unless Malik can perform some magic

what I think will happen is the OL will be good enough, that we’ll be a good running team, but not dominant, and the WRs will have to perform above avg to make our O a top 16 unit. The WRs will get a boost from Malik buying time and running, and it will factor into them looking better than they are.

Very happy the Knicks pulled it out. I love the detractors of what the Knicks accomplished, all these excuses like they played no one, the best teams were eliminated, the Spurs choked, blah blah blah. Suck it bitches! The best team WON! GO KNICKS!!!

Lol….glad your basketball team won (truly), but completely disagree with you about Wemby.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Wemby is an elite talent, and I liked him before this series, but his immaturity showed many times. He was pretty dirty this series and last.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Can’t comment on the dirty, as i didn’t see it in the examples….homer talk, imo.

Wemby is young and learning the game here.

  6. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

A few here still believe team building has to do with finding stars (partially true as it’s a talent acquisition business). But, when “stars” aren’t about the team (cough, cough..THill and Tua) how can you possibly expect to WIN?

You can’t! Is it possible that some of the draft picks that were passed over on “your” list didn’t measure up as a “team” player?

Krishna , what about Wemby do you disagree with me on?

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

      That he’s dirty….

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

If you’re not sure, just watch any of the playoff series. If he wasn’t a great player and the best player on his team, he would have been suspended with all the flagrant fouls he committed, and one he almost committed but missed. Before he even got to the Knicks series he had one brutal flagrant foul, a very dirty elbow. What he may have been during the regular season is not what he was in the Playoffs. The league bent over backwards not to call those fouls on him so he wouldn’t miss any time, which is understandable up to a point, but it also empowered him to be as dirty as he pleased with no ramifications which is never a good thing

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

It’s not that I’m “sure” or not. The NBA is the roughest league on the planet. No othet league compares.

  10. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Nice write, Mike E!

IMO, we’re one more WR (plus Chris Bell getting healthy) away from really becoming a fantastic Offense.

I keep going back to what BBM thought with his first mock draft of ’27 (Haha! Waaaay too early, but I love it!): if Malik Willis IS the REAL DEAL, to be able to land WR Jeremiah Smith, OSU, in the 1st round next Draft would be WOW!!!

To have a healthy Chris Bell on one side and Jeremiah Smith on the other? BOOM!!!

We’ve got lots of middling WRs who are quite dynamic (may the best men win), but I’d sign up in a heartbeat for Chris Bell and Jeremiah Smith as our boundary WRs.

  11. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Knicks used it to their advantage? Which advantage would that be? I’m not going to drag this shit on any longer than it has been already. If they called things by the letter like they did against the Knicks, Wemby would have been suspended after the 3 point shot where he was in Brunson’s landing spot. There’s no if’s, and’s or but’s. That would have been the 4th technical, and believe me, they could easily have decided to call a technical foul when he went to kick OG from behind but missed. The intent was there, and whether he hit or not doesn’t matter. You wanna give love to the skinny cunt, go right ahead.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I wish I had the same enthusiasm as you regarding the NBA. I had, once upon a time… the early 2000s Sacramento Kings.

After the 2002 West Coast finals between the Lakers and the Kings, I realized just how BULLSHIT the NBA had become.

HAPPY for your Knicks, Brother! I just can’t get into the NBA any longer, man.

  12. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Thanks M – I could dig Jeremiah Smith unless there’s a QB or EDGE rusher that looks like the real deal. We’ll have to see where we’re drafting next year and then we’ll have a better idea of what we need more. If Malik Willis isn’t it, and maybe Ewers isn’t either, you can bet we’re going QB

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Hopefully, one of them is, or maybe even both!

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

That’s the thing about next draft. If you are picking in the top 5, there are a couple “elite” players at their positions you could chose from. I wouldn’t classify any of the QB’s as elite at their position but you should take the most promising one there if you need one.

Edge Colin Simmons, Texas is one to watch and could be an elite prospect there. He is a smaller edge but had 12.5 sacks and is very good vs the run.

CB Leonard Moore, ND looks to be better than any CB in this past draft class.

WR Jeremiah Smith, OSU enough said

Then there are the QB’s to look at.

I just think this next draft could have some “elite” players this last draft didn’t. That and potentially deep QB class.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

This is why I have been leaning taking an elite talent 1st in 2027 then a QB in the 2nd round (if we are picking in the top 5). Maybe Manning or Moore ups their game and become that elite talent but I didn’t see it last year. Maybe Julian Sayin, who I think is the best college QB right now, grows another inch but I doubt that either. lol

  13. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bri – are you going to go to the parade?

  14. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Krishna,

Wemby had a Level 2 technical against OKC, one against the Knicks, one that wasn’t called and somehow the league didn’t deem it a technical (they want him in the Finals). He almost certainly would have gotten a technical last night for invading the shooters space- the refs missed it, but I have a hard time believing that the league wouldn’t have looked at it and called it another level, one technical . That means if there was a game six he probably would’ve been suspended because he would’ve had a total of four points. There was also another play against OG where he pretty much jumped at his knee. I don’t know if he’s dirty, but he’s definitely young and immature and once his emotions get the best of him.

  15. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

The reason I am taking Jeremiah Smith, 6’3, 223, projected 4.32 forty is he is a rare size/speed elite talent. Right now, he is the best player in college football. Why not?

Especially when all the potential QB’s (again, right now) look relatively equal through the top 7 in Sayin, Manning, Moore, Carr, Mensah, Lindsey and Mestemaker. IMO, Sayin is the best at playing QB but he is only 6’1 and the rest of that top 7 are 6’3 or more.

I didn’t think anybody even cared about the NBA anymore. Do they still dribble? Can they take 5 steps on a layup now?

in Europe BB you can take 2 steps, American BB only 1.5, so obviously traveling

  17. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bri – I watched the Knicks game with my friends I grew up with. One of them went with me to the 1984 Playoffs when we faced the Detroit Pistons and we went to every home playoff game. This was the Knicks team with Bernard King with his fingers taped up and a bad coke habit but he was pouring in 40-50 points a game. That was Bill Laimbeer’s Pistons. Then we faced the Celtics with Larry Bird. We were 21 year old kids, we didn’t have money. We sat like 30 rows up behind one of the baskets, we bought a playoff package that probably cost around $30 per game. Last night I coined the phrase “Skinny Cunt” for Wembanyama and he will forever be known by my group of friends as the “Skinny Cunt”. 🤣

It was a totally different era if basketball though, it was a much more physical game. Hey, I don’t mind physical play, just don’t be dirty. Wemby hides behind the refs and the league because they protect him. The NBA should let him face the music and get what he deserves

what I want to know is why everyone NHL team that has any red in their jersey yells out red, during the national anthem? Toba?

Steve: I hadn’t noticed RED being yelled out , in all honesty I stopped watching Carolina after game 2 against Montreal as it seemed every time I watched (game 1) they lost , or I tuned in as they were up , then blew the lead .. it seemed I was cursing them when I wanted them to win , dumb but I seems to be working.. I think the shout outs during anthems started with Winnipeg (True North) which is the parent company that owns the Jets , or possibly Dallas (stars)…. Those are the two I recall earliest

  31. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike, I agree. We have vets at WR who can play the game and not embarrass ourselves but if young players step up you go with that flow. TE is going to be a big deal. Run the football and utilize your strength which I think will morph into a very different ball control offense.

  32. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Chop has always struggled once a player gets their hands on him. He looks and performs best when he’s running free. That’s why a Wide 9 benefits him. It also creates loops/games where you can try to get him free runs. The other side is it opens up things for offenses.

If he is going to take a step up, he has got to find a way to disengage. It might be his hands. It might be something else, but he’s gotta get better at winning after contact. Smart OL will adjust to just speed.

No fricking way. He has turned into a diva since winning the SB. He’s lost the locker room. Eagles are regretting the contract they gave him.

  50. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t see him as a franchise QB, something is missing.

    ——

He would not be my top prospect in the next draft but in the top 5. They all have something missing.

There are a lot of successful NFL QB’s who seemed to be “missing something” but after a few years turned out good. You don’t really know until they get to the NFL.

I just read an article by an imbecile that says, roughly, that Baltimore does not want to pay Lamar Jackson again so of course, the Miami Dolphins should trade for him. He went on to say that Jackson is one of the best QB’s in the league and will be expensive, probably multiple 1st round picks.

FFS!! I started by saying the dude was an imbecile, but what a maroon! Yeah, let’s give up multiple 1st round picks for a 30 year old QB WHO WILL STILL WANT TO BE PAID LIKE MAHOMES! What the fuck is wrong with people?

I mean, I clicked the bait, so what is wrong with me!?

  52. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

He was writing about Kion Smith. LOL

We’re not going to draft Brendan Sorsby in the Supplemental Draft.

Why? Sully and Haf won’t bring in a distraction, year one of a rebuild. It wouldn’t make any kind of sense whatsoever.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Even if it only cost us a 5th rounder (trust, he’ll go earlier than a 5th rounder to somebody), it would bring so much controversy to a team just trying to rebuild the proper way.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

What’s more, we’ve already invested in Malik Willis, and Quinn Ewers is gaining much respect from the new coaching staff already.

We’re certainly not trying to replicate the QB controversies going on in Cleveland, for crying out loud.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t think Sorsby would be a distraction. It would be just like drafting a QB next year.

That said, I don’t think we even make a bid for him. However, we do have a roster spot open that has not been filled yet, though, it’s only been 2 days.

I may be wrong about Malik, IDK. What I’m not wrong about is, he can do it all, a 5-tool QB and the reason I’m so high on him. I like rooting for the guys with the high ceilings

he’s done it so far, on a limited basis. Can he do it consistently throughout a season? We’ll see

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

For him it’s about the finer points of passing. Does he diagnose the best option and hit the target consistently. He has the improv skills to change games.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I’ve seen the Kurt Warner and other expert videos about him taking the best option. I think its all bullshit

you don’t have to take the best option, you just have to get first downs. The best option is debatable, if he takes the easy play and gets a first down instead of throwing deep into single coverage it may be better, because the percentage of conversion may be much higher

you have to throw deep at times to keep the D honest at times too, but not every time its single coverage

We are having a Microsoft Teams Meeting this evening at 8PM to select where we (those who wish to) will sit for the Fest this season. The meeting can only last 60 minutes (Because I didn’t pay the subscription) so please be on time promptly at 8PM.

    https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/283211692471687?p=JtB5uWb0on6epVf0sJ

The link above will give you access to the meeting.

I will be able to pull up the seating chart on the screen and scroll around the stadium to see what the prices are and how many seats are available in each section. Then you all will be on your own to purchase the tickets (I am hoping right then from your individual computers) so they don’t get sold out from under us.

After sitting out the 2025 season, Ayedze joined the UFL’s DC Defenders in January, but the team traded him to the Houston Gamblers in March for former Dolphins wide receiver Braylon Sanders.

While I have many weeks of vacation, I must submit as much before the turn of the new year (BIG CORP). That makes it impossible for me to predict — many months in advance — what our schedule will even look like… much less when the FEST date gets agreed upon.

ONE of these years (VERY soon! None of us are getting any younger!), I’m just going to have to make things happen in order to attend.

I cannot make the FEST this season, AGAIN, and regrettably.

  71. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I was listening to WQAM and Mike Florio was on. He thinks that it’s possible that a contending team without a star QB makes a 2nd RD or possible even a 1st RD bid for Sorsby. I don’t really see us as players in all this. We have to see what Malik Willis is and we also have Quinn Ewers. I’d say the timing of this is completely against us. If the Supplemental Draft was after the season then we might have gone all in, but for a team trying to rebuild, I just don’t see us as legit participants.

  72. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    MF13,

I have a similar problem that I have to ask for my vacation at least 6 weeks in advance, but I don’t know what the hell will be on my schedule 6 weeks from now!

I can only request the time off and when it gets close and the work load doesn’t seem like I will be able to take off, fight with the bosses at that time.

I typically get myself a nice 3-$5K bonus when I have to, but that doesn’t make up for not being able to take item off ALL YEAR. Sure the extra 10-15K per year is nice, but it causes major burn out and resentment.

You should just plan on taking the time, discuss it with your bosses or partners and just keep hammering it into their heads that YOU WILL BE GONE 4-5 days.

Damn, if you are so important that they can’t live without you for 4-5 days then a HUGE pay increase is in order, don’t you think? LOL

Anyway, hope to meet you one day.

  74. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

MikeE, in 2027, the Jets have 3 first round picks and their second round pick may be a high one also. I think the Jets will take Sorsby with one of those top 4 picks. They won’t use their top pick and will use that instead on Jeremiah Smith, Leonard Moore or one of the top edges.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That makes sense, I can see the Jets being aggressive if they think they can work with Sorsby. He’s definitely more of a risk though than some of these other guys. Not physically, but whether you trust he can get past the gambling issues. Remember QB Art Schlichter?

  75. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    NEVER!

NEVER WILL I BUY TICKETS THROUGH TICKET MASTER AGAIN!

  76. Randy's avatar Randy says:

If our guys felt confident that this Sorsby kid wasn’t gonna present an issue, why wouldn’t you use a 2-3 round pick to get him? Athletes gamble constantly, this is more attention, but as long as he was never betting against his own boys his future teammates probably just shrug.

Again, if he’s not an addict, a good PR team turns the attention into a positive. 9000+ bets over a 2 year period would make me have questions, but I watch people at bars spend shit loads of money to tap on a little IPad thing for hours. Isn’t online betting pretty much that easy? A few taps?

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Randy, that is like 12 bets per day…

That is an addiction. He has admitted himself to a treatment system.

I don’t know if he bet against his team, but he definitely bet on the games he played in. That has been reported.

I would throw a 3rd round pick in the bag and see if it is enough.

  77. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I look at it this way. Grier threw away so many 3rd round picks to move up for trash players, that “wasting” a third round pick on a potential franchise QB is worth the risk.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Possibly. There seems to be some thoughts though that some team will give up a 2nd or possibly even a first, and the teams that make that make those bids will be in tiers. The teams with 6 or less wins is Tier 1, then 7 wins and no playoffs is Tier 2, and then up and up. Once the bids are made, Tier one teams will have a lottery if there are any and so on and so on. Each Tier will have their order after the lottery to see who gets first dibs. Not sure how accurate that info is though

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

yeah, I’m aware of how it works

We would be at the top of the second tier

After 10 other teams this year

it’s a sealed Bid you put it in beforehand it is not alive draft

Then the league puts them in order and awards the player to the highest Bid.

Did you not hear what M13 said! You have to wait and see you fuck! LOL

It doesn’t matter so much what he does this year really. I think he’s going to be a very good player, but if it doesn’t happen this season, and he’s completely healthy next season, all is well

  79. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tankathon has us picking 1st overall next year. They have their 2 round mock up and have us taking QB Arch Manning #1 and DT Will Echols at #33.

That would be a very good start to the next draft. Hoping that Manning improves on his passing game.

Echols 6’3, 315, might be my favorite DT in the next draft. He’s quick off the snap and can play anywhere on the DL.

    Or Moten from Miami

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I’m not sure who would have been available at 33 but pass rush is probably still going to be a huge need. We are “hoping” (there’s that dirty four letter word again, hope) that the THREE DT’s we took last year step up.
