What Make Hulk Angry?

incredible-hulk

By Dr. Bruce Banner

So Hulk know that Phins not going anywhere this season. He know that even if Phins manage a few upsets here and there that it won’t mean anything in terms of playoffs. Hulk has said he done being angry about team. Nothing they can do will cause Hulk to rampage anymore. So Hulk sit down to watch Jets host Phins and then something happen during game. Hulk watch Phins squander early good field position. Then Hulk see key turnover squander another scoring opportunity. Then Hulk watch a journeyman QB better known for his scruffy beard than any NFL skill set he may possess start to carve through Phins D like it was wet dishtowel. Then Hulk watch Phin reject Brandon Marshal repeatedly school Phins best defensive back like he was an over the hill has been with nothing left in the tank. Then Hulk watch offensive line fail to get any push in run game. Then Hulk watch repeated low snaps from backup center. Then Hulk watch coaching staff not make adjustments to help backup center such as play more under center. Then Hulk watch D give up more 3rd and long conversions. Then Hulk watch when offense finally score then D turn around and give up long drive ending any hope of comeback.

As Hulk sit there and watch all that and Hulk notice a familiar feeling. He began to sweat, he breath harder, he feel pressure in head, he start to pound fist, he yell, he scream and then yes Hulk get angry! Hulk get angry at piss poor performance yet again against hated division rival. Hulk get angry at uninspired performance when all Hulk wanted to see if for Phins to show some pride. But these Phins have no pride. They no play with urgency. They flat out suck. There is nothing else to say.

Now Hulk want to know why Phins suck. Is the QB who everyone want to blame? Is it the offensive line whose play was truly offensive? Was is it Suh who supposedly made everything different now that he is here? Is it the Front Office who put this piece of you know what on the field? The problem is the answer is yes to all of the above and Hulk know that and that is what makes Hulk mad that he know this team is hopeless and yet he got suckered into caring about these Phins once again. It’s like Brokeback Hulk “I can’t quit you” bad. Why can’t Hulk quit this bunch of losers? What is it that makes Hulk keep coming back for more punishment? Is Steve Ross some kind of Marquis De Sade who can inflict punishment on Hulk over and over again? Hulk now get ready for more punishment next week. Ugh! Hulk Smash!

I saw on the palm beach post that new offensive coordinator Zac Taylor says that they have to simplify the offense. I am hoping that the statement was taken out of context.

Simplify the offense? How much simpler can dolphins be than only calling four plays?
    1. Shotgun formation slant pass
    2. Shotgun formation fake reverse
    3. Shotgun formation wide receiver screen
    4. Shotgun formation run off tackle

Maybe he is saying that they’re going to simplify the offer ends by getting rid of all the bs pre-snap motion that does not fool any defenses? Get rid of the pre snap motion that delays the game and eats clock when we are trying to score in less than a minute?

The office is already so simple that the opposing defenses know what we are going to do!

I just went back and read the play by play on nfl.com for the Dolphins Jets game .
Here is the most called play:
(Shotgun) 17-R. Tannehill short pass (left, right, center) incomplete

Lazor definitely deserved to be fired and Ryan Tannehill is the problem!

  11. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

REALLY GOOD EFFORT, Dr. Banner. You raise a terrific issue when you ask “WHY does Hulk come back for more punishment?” Why do we continue to follow this train wreck of a franchise?

For me, the answer goes back to the very beginnings of this once-great franchise. “Pro football will NEVER make it in south Florida,” said the skeptics. For many years, the skeptics were right. The old Miami Seahawks of the All-American Football Conference folded in the late 1940’s. Attendance at UM games was sparse most of the time. Believe it or not, HORSE RACING drew more attention in south Florida in the 1950’s!!!

Then came Joe Robbie and his AFL expansion Dolphins. One Miami TV sports guy said “There’s a reason why there are NO MAJOR LEAGUE SPORTS FRANCHISES IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF FLORIDA.” He continued, “The Dolphins are doomed before they’ve played their first game!” –Many of us younger guys believe this old fart was dead wrong, and we said so publicly. When only about 27,000 showed up for the Fins first regular season game vs. Oakland, I began to wonder if the old guy was right. But time proved him, and the other skeptics, wrong. WITH PROPER OWNERSHIP, pro sports teams CAN, and HAVE flourished in the Sunshine State. –It’s no longer debatable.

WHEN our beloved Dolphins won two consecutive Super Bowls, any thought that Florida was unfit for pro sports franchises went out the window. SADLY, however, our franchise suffers from its worst owner in history. The Dolphins have rotted from the top on down. But Steve Ross WON’T own the Dolphins forever. A new day will arise. And I hope myself, Dr. Banner, Young Stanger and Mike E., plus all the other devoted Dolphin fans, will be around to celebrate this new era. Yes, fans, “Time IS on our side!”

Better days are coming. Be ready, Hulk, and all the rest of you!!

  12. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Good work Hulk! LOL @ Brokeback Hulk. Hitting new lows. lol

  13. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Sad to watch each week to see who else gets fired, but that’s where we’re at. Fans most likely want to clean house (rightfully so), but we’ll all have to wait and see if that’s how it goes down.

  14. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Rock

We went to the game last Sunday, it was the quietest I’ve ever been at a game. We had so little to cheer about. On the other hand, you’ll be pleased to know there were a few fights amongst fellow Jets fans, it was hilarious. We’re sitting there miserable because our team is crapping the field, and the Jets are up 3 scores, and they’re fighting amongst themselves. Were they even watching the game, and did they realize they were WINNING? LMAO!

  15. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I guess simplifying the offense means cutting out all the gimmicky crap and just focus on executing basic football plays like running out of under center formations, utilizing play-action and not being in shotgun most of the time. At least I hope it’s that. Campbell said he’s more of a run first guy. So if we run the ball only 12 times under Zac Taylor than maybe we’re just retarded. LOL

  16. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t even know what to expect with the “new” offense. The more I expect things to change, they somehow always seem to stay the same. Is it just me?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It looked like it changed a bit against TEN and then HOU and then went right back.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s what I mean Tim. There are teams that run the ball no matter no matter what. They may not run it as much when they’re behind, but unless they’re down 3 scores, or it’s late in the game, good teams still run the ball.

  17. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike E, I’m with you on committing to the run. Sherman bailed on it and so did Lazor and look at the results. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out. I mean it’s football 101.

  18. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

this offense will be the same shit as the last offense. What changes do you think are gonna be made in one week?

Just like hulk I hate this garbage team but can’t do anything about it.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We were talking about just calling the game differently. It can be done because it was done in the TEN and HOU games and then we went right back to the same nonsense.

  23. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim

If we’re down a TD, or even 2 TD’s, and it’s not the 4th QTR, you can’t just be one dimensional, because the stats bear out that we will lose when we throw the ball every down.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Totally agreed. We are 2-14 in the Tannehill era when he throws 40+ passes. Obviously we know when we’re in that territory that the rushing totals are low. This team starts off notoriously slow so why not run it a lot the first few series and then open up the offense. No let’s screw around and set ourselves back and then get into a territory that we never come out of. Yeah that’s the ticket!

  24. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Think about being a Browns fan. Your lining up for the game winning FG and you get it blocked and returned for a TD and lose. That is fuckin brutal. LOL

  25. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

    tim,
I think we may start the game like Ten and houston but as soon as we fall behind we’ll go back to throwing it 50 times. That’s how this offense is.

I was thinking the other day back on the other blog when Ireland was fired and people were all upset because Ray Farmer wouldn’t even consider the Dolphins. Think of it, we could have that mess of a Manziel right now. Let me just say….Whew!!!!!! We dodged a bullet there. 😉

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

WE had tanny by then so I doubt we would have drafted manziel. But I get your point. Although I’m not sure hickey is any better. So far we’ve regressed from Ireland days. At least Ireland built a team to get to 8-8. This team right now will be lucky to win another game.

    gdp,
right now no one knows what happens next year. If I were Ross I put everything on the table including Tannenbaum and tanny’s fate.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Not like Ross to fire an executive after just 1 year. I’d be shocked.
Now it depends on what Tbaum thinks of Tanny and the potential coaching candidates as well. But I think Tanny is safe at least thru 2016.
Lets see how he and the rest of the team performs these last 5 games.

I see draft talks are heating up today. Well the new coach is gonna love this teams possibilities with a top 5 pick or a trade down with additional picks. The new coach will get young players who got experience this year and a OL that is welll balanced concerning contracts expiring. One or two players on OL through the draft or draft and FA and we will be set up to play smash mouth football. The other player could be defense in a trade down scenerio of 3 picks in top 50 picks. OT in late 1st then 2 second rounders a guard and Cb or LB.

The fins are gonna have 4 ways to upgrade the OL guards. Draft, FA, trade, or develop. We may have developed 1 guard out of the 2 that played this whole year and thrown into the fire may be capable of being a future NFL main stay for the fins.

Yeah I wouldn’t write off any of the young OL yet. Add competition for sure through any avenue and let competition decide who makes the team and starts.

Not a huge fan of the QBs at the top of this draft. I like the idea of getting a mid round guy to develop. I don’t think any of the top guys are as good as last years top prospects Winston and Mariotta
