Falcons and Dolphins go to Orlando – Preseason Game 3

If you listen to the presser Gase gave after practice and the tone when asked about Pead’s hamstring with the answer “yeah, it’s unfortunate for him with another hamstring……..we’ll have to see where we’re at with the roster” it doesn’t sound like Pead is going to make the cut.
what time does the spreadsheet close tonight?
They just keep mentioning Monday, I never saw a time.
Biran, tonight around 10pm Eastern I’ll close the spreadsheet.
Thanks Buolder
sorry about the mispell 🙂 too early on monday morning.

Good morning.
What’s the latest argument? I need to catch up 🙂
Oh and about Kaepernick…criticism is stupid. A good 20% of people at games talk and don’t pay attention to the singing of the national anthem during games so I don’t mind if a player doesn’t give a F
Wow !!!
Al — explains a lot. I noticed how you were conveniently absent at Fest when we did the pledge of allegiance before digging into the food.
You go on the Hop Sing blacklist…..if you don’t know what that means ask Bookman. 🙂

The Lions have started their first wave of roster cuts by releasing OG Geoff Schwartz http://on.freep.com/2bMcMNs via @freep
Oh I thought the contest was over Saturday. Do we have to do wins and losses because I hate that shit? LOL
no you don’t. Just do the roster. But please put the dolphins score for last preaseason game for the tie breaker.
Okay cool! Wow the final score of the last PS game. Yikes! LOL
If someone wants to put Jake Scott in for all the roster spots on the spreadsheet for me that would be great. I already know that I’m a winner.
Fans must be pretty optimistic for the most part about the upcoming season because we’ve got a rb with bone on bone in Ajayi, another who’s an aging rb coming off an Achilles and a third who’s a rookie that has seen zero action and has an injury history throughout college and the sky isn’t falling.
It’s all good.

Xavien Howard just picked off a pass to Kenny Stills in 1on1s. He ran the route for Stills.
Boulder, I thought the tie breaker was how many points we’ll average this year.
I haven’t heard anyone mentioning Misi, he played a good game vs Atlanta
Nobody likes him except me. LOL

Oh boy on Stills and Parker.
We can’t catch a break.
Omar gives more info.
———————
Kenny Stills, the Dolphins’ starting flanker, suffered an injury during 1-on-1 drills during a collusion. Stills laid on the bubble turf for a couple minutes while a trainer examined his back.
DeVante Parker, the Dolphins’ starting split end, possibly re-aggravated his hamstring injury during the same 1-on-1 drill. Parker caught a deep touchdown pass over Bobby McCain and came up limping. He never returned to practice after limping back to the huddle.
That were involved in collusion? LOL

Give him a break, lucky he can spell his name😉
I can understand. If the spelling police after go after me will end up a life sentance.
We’ll see what these are about.
Oh it was just a joke. Omar often has spelling errors. I found it funny. Fuck off! LOL
Does this mean we’ll keep 3 QBs on the active roster?
Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 29m29 minutes ago Davie, FL
“I’m going to split it up with those two guys and give them a fair shot to compete,” Gase on Dysert vs Doughty call for No. 3 QB job.
It just means we may, final evaluation not done yet. Teams like to take their best 53, so if one of these guys light it up, they may be kept, or they may both light it up, and both cut.
Just wondering about the roster challenge, some guys play multiple positions, so how do we define that?
Oh stop making it so difficult and just pick your 53!!!!
Well if I do that and I lose because of a technicality I’m going to send you a 6-pack of beer that’s really worm juice. LOL
If there is one thing that is for sure….Tim does take his roster projuctions seriously. 🙂
I’ve always taken my projuctions seriously. LOL
Are we going by position (retarded) or just top 53?
That’s what I’m saying, and what is WR 1 and 2?
steve,
the tie breaker for the record is how many points we average this year. But for the roster is the points the dolphins score last preseason game. That way we know who the winner of roster challenge is this weekend.
Thanks
its 53 for roster. So how many of the 53 you have picked correctly.
RIP Gene.

He didn’t die, it was a hoax.
That doesn’t seem to be the case based on what I’ve seen.
If it was a hoax…..it is a darn good one that all the major media bought into. Guess we’ll see.
And why would some scumbag hoax that? He had Alzheimer’s and was 83 years old.
Gene Wilder is one of my favorite comedic actors all time, really sad to hear. And it isnt a hoax, though i wish it was.
^
One of the best twitter responses i saw with regard to Gene Wilder….
“In an ideal world, it would be Marty Feldman who came for Gene Wilder, told him it was time, and said “Walk this way.””
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twf0ffG0v_8
Awesome! LOL
from MH.
Afterward, coach Adam Gase said he had no update on any injuries during practice because he came to his presser before speaking with trainers.
Receiver DeVante Parker also stopped practicing after he got tangled with cornerback Bobby McCain. He was seen having his left hamstring stretched out.
Parker missed a couple of practice earlier in training camp because of a hamstring injury.
Stills was not the only player who left practice after an apparent injury.
Starting left guard Laremy Tunsil also left the bubble after warmups. He took no team drills.
Mario Williams also did not practice at all today for unknown reasons. The Dolphins announce players who are not practicing because of an injury prior to each practice. They did not announce Williams.
RIP Gene! Always one of my favorites! One of my favorite roles he was in was a lesser hit compared to the biggies, but he was great in “The Frisco Kid”.
RIP Gene Wilder- His comedic genius is something I remember fondly from my childhood. “Silver Streak” and “Stir Crazy” were two of my favorites. He and Richard Pryor were one of the greatest comedic duos of all time.
^
Sucks to hear Gene Wilder is gone….he can now join his true love Gilda Radner.
She was awesome too. My wife loves her.
Everyone should put Chris McCain on their 53 man roster. I’m hearing he’s a lock to make the team.
He’ll make the 53, won’t be this team…
Saints acquired DE/LB Chris McCain from the Dolphins in exchange for undisclosed late-round draft compensation.
Okay and why the roster is hard to do by tonight. Why not after the 4th PS game. I don’t get it?
RIP Gene Wilder
Okay, the contest site is funky on my computer. It seems to move on it’s own at times. It keeps crashing my browser. I did a test and that’s the one site open that does it every time. LOL
There must have been Vegas odds on who would be Peyton Manning’s successor and the odds on Trevor Simien must have been a million to one.
I was discussing Wilder’s movies and i was trying to figure out which is my favorite, 2nd, etc, etc. I got down the list and was like 1) Young Frankenstien, very close 2) Blazing Saddles, 3) Everything else, because the rest are so good, i don’t really feel right ranking any of them lower than 3.

Thank you Dolphins for a wonderful 2 1/2 yrs. love Florida but GOD always has a plan. And I’m very thankful for this opportunity #whodat
One thing about the Chris McCain trade which is a bit of whoa…, he’s never really established himself other than potential and he was undrafted, so any compensation is a solid deal. Obviously this coaching staff told management he’s not making the 53.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a couple more like this.
Wow! I like that trade, getting something for nothing. I didn’t have him making the team either. I’m also glad for McCain.
Alright Lou, you’re just blowing smoke out your ass 😛 I went back and watched all the plays in the Atlanta game where Young was at RT. He had one play where his man lined up wide and cut back inside of him, then Douglas picked him up and the defender almost had a sack, but Doughty completed a 2 yard pass. On 2 other plays they had him going to the second level to pick off LBs on one of them, the LB assisted in the tackle and the other the tackle was already made before the LB got to the play. He’ll never make those 2 2nd level blocks, not sure why they even had him try, not many RTs are going to make it.
I’ve seen all of Young’s play this preseason and 90% of the time he takes his man out of the play, and he gets push on run blocks. He’s pretty slow, but he gets the job done. Again, I’d like to see how he looks against Wake, if he can’t handle the speed rushers, then I can see why he’s 3rd string, but he hasn’t gone up against anyone in preseason that I saw that resembled a speed rusher.
A tackle is slow? LOL
This thing with Kaep is BS, if the reporters would just leave it alone it wouldn’t be an issue. Who really cares what he does, sorry Mike, and that comes from a former NV Wolfpack backer of his.
He doesn’t get to choose either, when you sit for the anthem it’s a slap in the face to the men and women in uniform who sacrificed for the freedom the athem and flag represent. You don’t get to back and say, well those guys I like, don’t work like that.
The point was you don’t cover it he doesn’t get to voice his opinion. The media does it for Hilary, isn’t the NFL big enough to tell reporters what they can report on 😛
It’s the tortoise that’s oppressed anyway…
What is Urbik the OG FA we signed from Jills costing?
Not sure he makes the final 53
a roster spot, lol
Don’t you have Google?
Screw that oppressive google and it’s information selling to the elites.
$1.125, with only $250K dead money. How does DT63 make this team, when he costs us $1.8M, and only $152K in dead money? We do have over $18M in cap space to the top 51 contracts, so 2 guys on the bottom will drop it a million.
You won’t believe who Kaep’s former lover is…
That’s oppressing a tortoise….I’m sure that critter rather be free instead of some party entertainment.
I agree with that. Too many people act like animals are toys for entertainment. I’m tired of it. I don’t go to zoos anymore because of it. It’s like watching slavery to me.

Tim, Jason Jones @ DE? I know Fede is banged up, but what has Jones done? I rather keep Cleyon Laing.
Experienced guy and Fede and Laing don’t jump out at me. I want the best players but I have to pick someone. LOL
I’m very worried about Stills, he was having a great camp and his chemistry with Tanny started syncing down the stretch last season and continued in preseason. He’d get single coverage almost every play because of Landry & Parker.
Why Bosa’s holdout won’t affect his play. He sucks and was going to suck anyways?
I have had enough of the Kaep stuff. I don’t agree with what he did, I wouldn’t have done it but he has a right to freedom of expression. He did it and so what and move on. The opinion of a spoiled QB on the decline is not worth the wasted breath everyone has given to it.
He created unnecessary criticism with ignorance, that’s the problem. The worst offender of the black male is the black male and too many people are afraid to say it but it’s true. Crime statistics confirm this every year. Why can’t we have this discussion without bias and repercussions and find a solution?
Not my point nor do I agree with what you said but my point is who cares what Kaep did. In terms of being a national voice he is pretty irrelevant
It’s statically factual and more and more black people are speaking out about but nervous America can’t deal with it at the moment. See Richard Sherman.
Ken, seriously? Go into an inner city area late at night with your family and I hope you can tell me the story of great times afterwards. I’ve had so many black dudes and women say what are you doing here over the years? Why are they saying that? They know it’s a bad situation and nervous America can’t deal with it still.
We all know to stay away from the deep woods and the hicks and hardcore rednecks right? But that’s okay to say. Until America becomes realistic we’ll play this faux game forever. It’s a travesty that we continue to ignore for political reasons.
I’m tired of the violence. We don’t deal with it properly as a country. Everyone knows it but you get labeled for saying it including black folks – they become Uncle Tom types and people like me become racists when it’s totally untrue. It’s absurd and a total fallacy. We all know what Section 8 Housing is right? Do you think it’s a good thing?
It’s always been a let’s throw them a bone and try to keep them in order policy which is despicable at the core. It has to end!!!! It creates an unusual amount of violence. But let the charade continue. It’s real Ken and it’s wrong.
It’s what the dems want, and they want control. They’ve been doing it for so long people think it’s the way it should be. Black people are against the police, and rightfully so, but they should also be against the dems that have created this mess to control votes. Black people have been used for far too long. Keeps stand is going to kill his career.

And that is my right! 😉
Canadians are nice. It’s the law there.
Why do so many black athletes thank their parents for keeping them off the streets? What is that they are referring to? That’s the problem and why does it exist? But everyone is afraid to talk about it. Nothing changes. 😦
When I was a kid our parents told us to go play in the street.
Mine didn’t care were I went as long as I was out from under foot!
Mine usually gave me a quarter before telling me to play in the streets.

Dolphins’ WR Kenny Stills, who went down during today’s practice, had his back lock up on him, per source. Injury not considered serious.
Thank God.
Ha ha… we can all make jokes. But the real issues with our society these days is a lack of communication and acceptance. As if back in the day had it all figured out. Nope!
Hypersensitivity as well Tim
No doubt, that’s why I called it nervous America. We just can’t seem to deal with it and refuse to do so. But we all know what the problem is. Our country fosters poverty and mental health in a lot of ways while also saying we want to raise the level of poverty and mental illness from horrible to sucks and people cheer that shit. It’s not going to end with that mindset. Not enough people care.
That’s all? We could go on for weeks about the issues with our society.
Wyoming:
You have every right to free speech. My only point is we are giving way too much attention and credit to someone who really deserves none of it for either what he has said, how he has said it or his qualifications to talk about it. I don’t really care that he did what he did I just find it ridiculous that everyone keeps talking about him as if he matters.
Football player lives matter.
Most really don’t, unless I have them on my fantasy team.
Tim::
When I was in college I used to work at an all night newstand in the middle of downtown Bridgeport. I don’t know if you are familiar with Bridgeport Connecticut but it ain’t suburbia. I had a guy try to sell me a bazooka one night. I have been plenty in the inner city.
Okay, so you know? It’s not a made up thing. How do we correct it in 2016?
We can stop by treating it as a matter of race and by looking at it economic terms
It is race in some circles though it shouldn’t be, but it’s definitely in economic terms. Wealth runs the world like it or not. Too many of us ignore that.
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero 25s26 seconds ago
LG Laremy Tunsil and WR Kenny Stills — both of whom left practice with injuries today — are fine. “No panic button,” source says.
That is good news indeed. Stills has been having a great camp and Tunsil is starting to come on
Alright my night time drive by is done. I have a busy day tomorrow. I am out. Peace.
Night Ken
Whew, great to hear about Stills & Tunsil. I have Stills as a 3rd-4th WR in my fantasy team @ work.
The chemistry that Kenny has built with Tanny going back to late last season is blossoming. He’ll get a lot of single coverages & I think if healthy he could easily be a 45 rec 700+ yards & 5-6 TD guy for us.
I’m tired of hearing about Kaep too
The guy is a moron and tried to speak about a serious issue
He botched the whole thing up
And now those people who never took racism seriously want to use that as a lighting rod to continue to marginalize racism
No surprise
People are eager to laugh about it and have been for decades bc it doesn’t effect them
So Kaep is the new whipping boy
Bc he is a idiot
but when Michael Jordan makes a well thought out statement about black lives matter, not a whimper or meme mocking it
http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/07/25/487400459/michael-jordan-speaks-up-for-black-lives-and-police-officers
Bc it’s actually a smart statement
And something worth talking about
People barely noticed that one of the greatest athletes ever, who spent a career staying away from controversies finally made an articulate social statement public
Bc it’s not bombastic enough
In our society you either have to be donald trump or kaep to get people to talk I guess
And yes they are both in the same boat as far as I am concerned
Bc people have there mind made up already
You have to say something utterly ridiculous to be noticed
It’s a shame
But people are suckers

Then why the 1000 word essay? 😉
the more I think about it and the way this team is working this year on bringing up the quality on the back end of the roster the more I’d have to say Banks is a guy I could see us going after
Banks?
Johnathan. He’s the odd man out in Tampa now with Verner, Grimes and VHIII after being a 2nd rd pick in ’13. Word was earlier Bucs were looking to possibly cut him but nothing happened. May be some team wants to try and get him before he hits the open market.
If we have Howard on one side and Maxwell on the other the depth at CB isn’t the greatest and Banks would help solidify that depth. I was all for drafting Lippett at CB but I don’t know if he’s ever going to get it done there.
Chekwa is finished, Melvin’s getting cut and Lucas and Pitts are looking at PS at best. That leaves us with four cb’s in Howard, Lippett, Maxwell and Bobby. Banks makes a ton of sense.
Banks is a tall skinny corner, not physical enough for VJ’s likings, plus he had a rotten 2015. There’ll be other cuts, plus give Lippett a lil more time now….lol
But if you watch him he can play press man and that’s what they’re looking for.
Plus I think he benefits from VJ’s coaching.
I’d trust VJ on this one….it could work, but he’s not a slot guy, strictly a corner. Hopefully we see Howard start to take off.
I wouldn’t necessarily be looking to bring him in to start over X but if X needs more time he could fill in and if either X or Maxwell go down he’s solid enough to step in. With only Maxwell, Lippett, X and Bobby it would make a lot of sense.
I wouldn’t be against it…could be a good get. Not sure the Yucs let him go tho…..we’ll see.
I’m not sure either. I just saw something earlier that said they may be looking at his release and he’s buried on the depth chart right now b/c of Grimes, Verner and VHIII. So, who knows?
word is if Phins want to trade for Banks it’s a mid to late rd pick. If they want to give the Bucs Thomas also they have to give the Bucs a 2nd.
I’m just thinking out loud here. I’ve looked up and down the rosters of other teams and there doesn’t seem to be the situation the Bucs have w/Banks and after seeing earlier there was a possibility he’d be let go the wheels started to spin.
He’s a 6′ press man guy, yeah he’s not the most physical guy, but he played press man well. Last year he had an off year for some reason but if you look at his first two seasons and the fact that he’s only been in the league 3 yrs he’s a guy VJ could utilize in his scheme. Only thing is if it doesn’t happen over next few days I doubt it’s going to happen.
Just a speculation thing on my part. This staff and regime isn’t going to stand pat on what we’ve got and will be looking to work the roster at every turn so when I saw that earlier it was something that I started to think about. Chances are we’d be trading a 5th or later to get him. JMHO
Waldo’S wondering where Hilary is😉
Scwartz? Browner?? Kruger ?? Thoughts ?
When you look at the situation at cb as I stated it before with Chekwa pretty much being finished, Melvin most likely getting cut and the two rookies going PS at best that leaves us with Maxwell, X, Lippett and Bobby. We need one more guy. Either Browner or Banks may be the answer but Banks is pure speculation and Browner’s available
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 50m50 minutes ago
Jaguars waived the Colts’ former first-round pick DE Bjoern Werner.
What a bust
In 3 years insert Joey Bosa here.
might not even take that long
I was trying to be nice😉 I think he’s knows it too, and reason for the holdout.
Lou, where is this news on wanting to trade for Banks?
there is none. like I said; pure speculation. there was news Tampa could possibly release him but then nothing happened and all I said was a team may be looking to trade for him so he doesn’t hit the open market.
I just said he would make a lot of sense for Phins because Lippett’s not getting it down and all we’ve got is Maxwell, the rookie Howard and Bobby besides Lippett. Culliver is going to be on the PUP 6 more wks. So, there’s no depth at CB. Banks is in the last yr of his rookie deal and he can’t dictate to a team he wants to be a starter and wants starter money in a trade.
As a 6′ press corner he kind of fits VJ’s scheme
Ok, I misunderstood your post. When you say “word is” it generally means there’s inside info.
that post was a joke
https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-nine-veteran-players-that-could-be-on-the-chopping-block/
Gotta laugh at #4. Though I don’t believe Cameron is that good, I don’t think we’d cut him, especially with the lack of depth we have at TE
Agree, but I had to see nothing other than this, “he will still count $7 million in dead money if he is released,” He’d have to be a cancer to get cut.
Exactly
9 vets that could be cut, if the dead money wasn’t so high, and if we actually had a replacement, then Cameron may get cut, since that’s not the case why include him? I’d say over 50% of FA signings don’t live up to the hype the first year.
I read this on Yahoo Sports badmouthing the McCain trade. Guess they have a point, but I see it as a solid on our part. They new he wouldn’t make the team and instead of holding on in case he got injured sent him off to where he could. To my mind that is treating your players right. That gets around, particularly when it comes to FA.
“Receiving only a seventh round pick in return, the Miami Dolphins also did got gain much from this move. While it may have occurred to potentially open a roster slot up for a rookie or another player, if McCain goes on to have a solid season with the Saints, this move will undoubtedly be questioned by many of the Dolphins’ faithful.”
Won’t be questioned by one faithful Fins fan, only the hacks in the media. I see this as the media having an agenda and counter punching every move we make.
“I see this as the media having an agenda and counter punching every move we make.”
Man you sound just like Trump…lol (and don’t take offense even if you are….got no clue on that.) 🙂
Stanger,
“They new he wouldn’t make the team and instead of holding on in case he got injured sent him off to where he could. To my mind that is treating your players right. ”
—
Agree.
and I didn’t even say it right. Meant if “someone” got injured, but seems you get the point.
Yeah it is a business — but the less you can make it one the better it is for a team. Money always comes first, but playing for a character place is somewhere on the list.
Speaking of busts…the Rams released Quinton Coples yesterday.
Pretty much how i see it
https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2016/08/30/insulting-colin-kaepernick-says-more-about-our-patriotism-than-his/?utm_term=.4e46ca19521a
I don’t hate kaepernick for his position
But I think he generalized and made a very vague protest instead of a specific one
And it’s a lot more powerful if you articulate why you take a position
I don’t really admire Kaepernick as a patriot
It seems more like a reckless position that wasn’t really well thought out
So much you can do to tackle this problem
Including making statements
But not that one
Some people just aren’t very good at making statements – and that is how I see Kaep, not as a bad person or a patriot, but as some one passionate about something that lacks the ability to express it in a positive way
So he won’t stand for the national anthem in a country that oppresses people of color but he’ll play football in this country and make millions.
This is another example of broad brushing entire groups of people unfairly. White America, white privilege, white cops, white this, white that, like we’re all the same. No group of people are all the same but it continues to go on and that’s the problem.
I don’t think some one has to support everything about the. Country bc they are making $ and some one who is successful doesn’t lose their right to make a statement in my view
I don’t get using Kaeps success against him
One has nothing to do with another
I have some substantive issues with criticizing “America” in such general terms instead of making a fact specific protest with a view at a solution
But that doesn’t matter whether some one is successful or not
The reason you hear successful athletes take a stand as opposed to regular joes is bc they have a voice
I view attacking his success as a means to silence the voice rather than argue the substance
I think asking for a 5th for McCain would have been too much
A 6th would have been nice
But a 7th is fine For a guy you might be cutting
He could not get on the field with our depth
It’s a smart move
i like McCain
But I would not call it a questionable move by any stretch
I don’t think there is any shot we cut Cameron
Tim has been pounding the table on the other blog that we cut Cameron and re-sign Stoneburner. He likes his name. Lol
It sounds like a huge salary cap hit to me
I haven’t looked into the economics of it
I’m not attached to Cameron
But I think we bought into him for a couple of years for cap reasons
He may turn it around
No I haven’t you lying bastard. LOL
Piggy, I don’t hate Kaepernick, I just think he’s ignorant. I’m also not attacking his success, I’m pointing out his hypocrisy. I also don’t think you have to love everything about this country or agree with everything, but like you said “I have some substantive issues with criticizing “America” in such general terms instead of making a fact specific protest with a view at a solution” and I agree with that.
I think he is ignorant too
I don’t love the way he expressed his message
I just think people have to slow down a little
there is a danger that his inarticulate rant represents the most vocal point to a very serious issue
there was a better way to make his point
he is not in the spotlight bc he is a great public speaker
he is there bc he is an athlete
So I don’t want to be too tough on him
I just don’t think its hypocritical for a minority who has been successful to highlight that that that success is not the norm or that in spite of his success he faces obstacles bc he is a minority
He didn’t say that though (even though I think that is what he meant to say)
instead he sounded like a college kid taking his first bong hit and left jerks like me with the burden to point out that discrimination is a very real thing….lol
Discrimination is a very real thing but it’s not just that, there is more to the problem. Many black males are victims of other black males in crime ridden neighborhoods and many of them have confrontations with the police not just because they’re black, but because they engage in criminal activities. You have to find solutions to nip it in the bud, not keep playing the blame game and broad brushing large groups of people who have nothing to do with any of it. It’s getting out of hand and too many politicians do nothing about it other than use these issues to prop themselves up. Their words don’t accomplish anything.

We have placed linebacker Zach Vigil and defensive end Dion Jordan on the reserve/non-football injury list.
Not surprising, as to Dion at least. Latest drug test turn up bad or could there be something else?
I think he’s just not ready. He’s been out of football for a year and a half.
It’s for the knee injury he suffered away from the team. Vigil has had an undisclosed injury for quite awhile now.
I knew about the injury, but not used to guys getting injuries in private off-seasons workouts getting that tag. So might be something else.
You watch Ballers on HBO with the Rock? Big issue with a paint ball offseason injury, worked out…but that guy was more Suh than Dion.
It’s straight forward Stanger, non football injury list, it’s been used lots in the past. He got hurt doing something other than playing NFL FOOTBALL he could also have an agreement with the team to go on this list, so they won’t have to guarantee his contract. He may actually not be hurt, but Gase sounded upset when injured was reported
Tim is hot for Stoneburner lol
LOL, what I said was fans liked him for his name and his 2 TDs forgetting he only caught 5 passes all season.
and just think if he had caught 30 passes. That’s 12 TDs. lol
I knew what you said. I’m just BB.
I’m concerned about the defense. There will alot of pressure on the starting corners and DL to perform given the issues at LB. The safety position seems adequate for now but depth at LB & CB is really shot. If the DE don’t create consistent pass rush pressure then it will all fall apart like a house of cards.
I do believe the offense will come around but I just don’t get a feel that they can carry the team in a bad defensive showing. I know that there is a sense that if the offense gets ahead that the D can perform better but I would also argue that when opponents faced Miami the last two years, they themselves didn’t push their offense unless they needed to (knowing Miami’s offense probably will implode and give them the game advantage). When they did crank it up, they usually moved the ball.
Pig,
While I disagree with a large part of what you are saying I appreciate you taking the time to bring a thought out and reasoned response to the discussion.
Its how I oink
Stanger, that’s why Jordan and Vigil were put on the reserve/non-football injury list, they suffered injuries not related to team football activities.
Pretty sure understood what you were saying that they got injured in non-team activities. Why I asked you if you have seen Ballers. They had a whole episode on that.
No I don’t watch it. Who knows Vigil raises horses, maybe he got hurt dealing with that.
Good Show..
Great show Toba — and maybe Dion injured his knee playing paintball. 🙂
You should watch Tim — but may main point was I don;t think they would be putting Suh on the non-football list if he got injured in one of his private workout sessions. They threaten to not pay salary by doing that, and which list they use is at their discretion..
The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed defensive end Dion Jordan and linebacker Zach Vigil on the reserve/non-football injury list.

Lol at Rodney Harrison, Kaep is not black.
Tim
I can’t discuss this now
I have to get back to work
but I will catch up later on the subject
That’s fine. I’m just sick of the racial divide in this country and the people who keep it going.
My attitude? I’m on the side of people realizing the real problems and not ignoring them which goes on everyday.

DeVante Parker is fine; Laremy Tunsil playing Thursday; Dion Jordan on NFI; Culliver headed to PUP:… http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2016/08/devante-parker-is-fine-laremy-tunsil-playing-thursday-dion-jordan-on-nfi-culliver-headed-to-pup.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter … #Dolphins #NFL
“DeVante Parker is fine” and so is Stills.
Yesterday it was like both were on life support. Still four strong at WR.
Well that makes three of my 53 on IR..
PUP.. rather..
Cool thing about Ballers is how some of the character plots mirror what goes on with the Fins.. IE OL (albert) , WR (Jennings/Wallace sort of) ..
Hopefully Albert two years from now and get on the wideouts (although think we’d be going Wallace there and not Jennings).
Could Rock be Jason Taylor if he’d gone broke though? Both bald and smart with an attitude.
Yep, Albert is who i think of with him, thinking Jennings as the Aging time to replace ,, Wallace as the Diva Overpaid, seems they made the two into one.and yeah Rock JT is good too..

Chris Culliver will be placed on reserve PUP next week and will not count on 53. He also will be able to come back during the season.
That was a no-brainer.
Apparently not since Toba had him making the 53 🙂
Al, I don’t have a great feel for this team yet. Need to see them play some real games and see these coaches coach. We’ll find out then if we have too many areas that aren’t good enough. But I do like some of the talent and potential on this team that can help us get better.
One of the things I think we’ll see and I’m sure hoping we’ll see is the players be better prepared to play against a particular team on game day. By that I mean it seemed like there were plenty of games we looked like the preparation leading up to the game was lax and I don’t think we’re going to see that this season.
We may not win every game but I don’t think we’re going to get our heads handed to us too many times either.
Agreed. Last year the team looked bad way too often.
Stanger, I have caught some of Ballers a few times I just don’t watch it regularly. If Suh wasn’t ready to go due a non-team injury he’d get put on the reserve/non-football injury list as well but the team has the option to pay or not to pay but with him they would.
I don’t think there is anything suspicious here with Jordan. If he failed another drug test he’d be suspended for the season or longer and we’d cut ties with him. He gets tested like 3 times per week.
“but the team has the option to pay or not to pay but with him they would.”
That is the big part of what I didn’t know. Blame me for trusting Ballers on it though. They did insist in the episode that going non-football would be a way to cut someone and not have to pay the contract or have it count against the cap when they did.
Putting these guys on the PUP isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it gives them a chance to get healthy, and gives someone else a chance to play a little.
PUP, NFL it’s really the same thing, unless you can come back from one sooner.
Agreed. As the season goes on there will be injuries and roster moves and when these guys are ready they could be activated. None of them are surprises, none of them have been working with the team because they’re injured.
This is a shame:
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17424174/teddy-bridgewater-seriously-injured-minnesota-vikings-practice
That does suck. It can happen at any time to any player. I wish him the best.
Yeah, and it was a non-contact injury, which is never good.
That’s why you can’t really play football fearing injuries because some of the worst ones are non-contact getting your leg caught the wrong way or whatever. Alonzo has a rep of not being durable but his main knee injury happened when he was training, not even on the football field. It’s not like he’s always getting banged up and missing games. Last year with the Eagles it was a reaggravation of the same knee and then he played the last 9 games of the season. It happens to a lot of players.
Just saw it and it sucks for us too. Now AFC teams that have to play the Vikings, and Cowboys may not have to face their starting QBs.
