Game Day. It’s about damn time! To make matters worse, the football scheduling gods have determined that we have to wait an additional 3 hours 5 minutes to begin the season. I don’t know about anyone else but I think this offseason has been the longest by far. We have a new coaching staff, some new players, and a brand new season that’s going to go by way too fast. Hopefully we are enjoying every minute of it.
LETS GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Let’s see defense gives up 12 points, and 9 of them are in crunch time before the half and at the end of the game. Seems like old, mother fucking times.
Ugly, ugly game. Those are the kind you hope to pull out on the road. Oh well. We almost got it. I blame it all on the bad karma from the 4 assholes on our team who kneeled during the anthem.
Why was everything that was bad today “typical” yet we forget the positive? I actually leave this game believing they will beat NE. A lot of fight under a new coach in their first game together. I hope we do no over react.
Bookman, if we don’t beat NE next week without Brady, then the season is over week two. Simple as that.
We can start out 0-2 and end being a good team
I don’t think we are close to season over mode
Really? How do you have any fun as a football fan with thoughts like that?
“we” will!
I don’t think the team will though!!!!!!
It’s typical
The late score for the opponent
Hopeless O
But I like our chances next week
This could be like Washington last year where they lost to us but went on to get into the playoffs.
Gase should’ve kicked the FG on the 4th and inches. He will learn.
I don’t have a problem with going for it on 4th
And coaches don’t learn on the job
Once they are hired there is an expectation they are ready
They should not have the job of they need to learn IMO
I don’t fault him for that. 2 TD dog on the road in Seattle. Go for it
Time of Possession: SEA 34:32 MIA 25:28
Playing defense in NFL requires ‘more’ energy because of the requirement to ‘respond’.
Our defense played brilliantly… they just had to play too much of the game.
Also maybe save those TOs although I know our DL was gassed.
I didn’t think we would win this game but the team fought hard for 4 quarters. Everyone else who played so far in our division lost today and to AFC opponents. Disappointed but far from mad.
This is not the kinda game that defines a season
I think the disappointing part is some of the same old stuff was seen
Yeah I would say the same more disappointed than mad
I knew the game was lost the moment Stills dropped that ball. You don’t win tight games on the road against good teams when you miss plays like that
I said that earlier and I was chastised for it.
As you should have been
It’s not all Tanny fault but he did take any chance on that last drive of getting a win. He throws that away and we have a couple more shots at getting in field goal range. You can’t not blame him for that. Our use of TOs was retarded. Last one wasn’t bad but the one just before that was. We would have been better off letting them score when they got the first and goal and saved the two TOs for a tying drive. I put some of that on Case. And definitely on the D for not holding the lead. Joseph shoulda dialed up pressure on him earlier in the drive until waiting until we got to the short side of the field. Disappointing loss, though we didn’t play awful. We just have to get out shit together. We always flake out at the worst times
Bookman,
If we start 0-2 there’s almost no shot at this team making the playoffs. I just look at statistics and past history.
Our D played well but let’s not forget Seattle was seriously hobbled today. Then, Seattle played poorly. 2 TOs and giving up 12 points? The D played well enough to win this game.
***
Our O sucked ass most of the day. They did not play well enough to win.
The Seahawks know they have been in a helluva game.
Once again we have the worst team in the National Football League
that is totally incorrect
I’m with Naples and Bookman. This team is not the same team we’ve been, we lost to a good team in their house, just barely too
We are certainly much more physical
I like our chances next week
I’m glad we are fighting my hard
I hope this loss doesn’t take anything away from the spirit of this team
I’m not a huge “we played hard out there today, atta boy” guy. The thing I look at is we are 0-1. Wins and losses count in the league, not hard fought games.
I totally disagree in this case. We have a first yr HC and a first yr DC and a ton of new guys to integrate incl a rookie starting CB.We are one of the youngest teams in the league and Seattle is one of the most stable programs of all.
It cracks me up. It’s like Tannehill didn’t operate a fantastic scoring drive near the end of the game. You guys can never give credit to him. It’s old shit, really stale old shit too
Exactly.
Brian,
I really don’t care about history, what makes football fun for me is enjoying each week separately…. Just ask KC fans.
The Seahawks D will probably be the hardest we face all year.
Especially considering it was up there.
They have led the league in scoring D 4 yrs in a row.
Mario out the last drive and we couldn’t get enough pressure. It exposed our LBs and DBs in coverage. Our Dline is as advertised. When we play good teams that are solid on the oline we’re going to give up points though.
Our offense might be better than I thought if we can clean things up. We left 13 points on the field. As our line gels they’ll get better. Cameron sucks hind tit, and Sims is more of a blocker so our we have no production at TE. I thought Tanny played well today against a good D.
^ Yes
I actually believe this will be the hardest road game all year. I like the resilience of the players. My only concern is the defensive depth
It’s probably the toughest team on the road we will be playing, thanks to the brady suspension
But we do have some tough west coast road games
And that tends to be when you see the mental mistakes
MikeE,
One scoring drive that started on, what, the 40 absolves the offense from a day of futility? This was not a good offensive performance. Yes, it was against a tough defense on the road, but it’s not like our schedule gets a lot easier. This kind of point output is what gets us 6-8 wins. The excuses don’t matter. You won’t win games scoring under 20 all the time.
Randy – Yes, because that would have won the game. Everyone always says he never shows up in the 4th QTR, and you continue to forget the dropped TD pass. He showed up alright, and drove for a TD, very gutsy drive. Made a bunch of 3rd down conversions. This is a tough defense, and he was crushed all day. It’s not excuses, it’s just what happened. if the defense makes the stop, Tannehill is hero. They don’t, he’s the goat. Whatevah
We just can’t score it’s gonna kill us
Mike,
I’m not putting this whole loss on Tannehill, I put it on the team. He’s part of the team, so some goes on him. He had a good drive, and did what he needed to do on that drive to win the game. But we had too many three and outs, and the D gave up points in the last minute of both halves.I’m pissed because it’s not like we gave up a FG to lose, we gave up a TD,
I hear you Brian
I’m a little positived out myself
But this season is going to need to be building blocks
Game by game
And so On…
And there are some positives to build on
We have 15 games left and I suspect there will be other low points
We missed a shot at a win today
But I think we have to see how the season develops to get an idea of who we are
This is true- It’s not like I’m going to quit watching them, it just feels like the same old shit to me.
Imagine how much you will get done on Sunday without the Dolphins….lol
The loss was not devastating in that it is out of conference and the Bills and Jets both lost. So this loss won’t matter that much in the standings. To me the big issue is we need to learn play better in clutch situations. That’s what troubled me in this game is that the D folded at the end of each half
I agree
I am sure what bothers most people here, as well as me, is that it’s night and day when you compare how the Seahawks play in those situations to how we play in those situations
It’s frustrating to me that we are talking about the Dolphins “learning to play” in those situations
When other teams know how to
We lost by 2 points to a supposed superbowl contender in their house. And we gave them the game. Lets see how they play next week. And even starting 0-2 is not the end of the world IMO.
I like how Gase had us fighting hard all day.
Our team has nothing to be ashamed of.
Crazy talk before the game. Crazy talk during the game. Crazy talk after the game. I can’t say it’s not expected.
Brian
Why is it that our offense sucks but their offense doesn’t? They have a great defense, and if not for the missed FG and dropped TD, we beat them in their house. You give credit to our defense, but none for theirs? Hypocritical, I say . . .
When did I say our offense sucks?
And I actually did not give credit to their D and none to ours. I think you are reading someone else’s post.
well said
Yeah, if I actually said those things…
We covered the spread
😮
The season starts next week.
Brian
After re-reading, you’re right. I just keep seeing this, so I kind of just expect to see it from everyone.
I’m emotional, but I’m pretty level headed about what goes on with this team. It’s just really frustrating to me the way we lost. I honestly would prefer to lose by 17.
why? Losing this way shows promise for the rest of the season… it shows what we can build on and that we can play with the best…if we had gotten stomped, I might think Gase is just another bum coach since Shula. Losing the way we did makes me think we have finally found our New Coach.
MikeE,
I have learned that there are tanneholics and tannerealists. The two will never come together in peace and harmony. Lol
I’m a little bit Tannecurious.
Randy – I think that’s true/ I have definitely been critical of Tanny when I think he deserves it, but the fact is, the defense holds that last drive, he’s a hero, and in some peoples minds, all they see are his failures earlier in the game, and can’t acknowledge what should have been the game winning drive that put us up 10-6. That’s all I’m talking about.
Can,
Lol. I hope the bushes outside his house don’t have thorns.
They don’t…
lol
I miss the in-fighting after losses
Bring it on!
Tannehill’s fault today!
Tannehill was exceptional – his team sucks!
Our Defense fails again..,
How can you expect more of a D than they gave today?
Gase calls timeouts like Philbin!
We look like a different team under Gase!
Seattle has nice weather and shitty music
The green fan dude looks like he is a great conversationalist.
Beer is for old ladies
Bacon cures most diseases
I gave you guys enough to disagree with me about
3 key plays to this game:
1. The Stills monumental fuck up.
2. Gase not calling a QB sneak, or Tannehill checking out of it.
3. The Tunsil missed block on the 27 yards FG.
Was that Tunsil?
Yep
I thought not getting points after the fumble recovery was a pretty big low point
Was that the blocked FG drive?
Yes
If Stills catches that ball and we win everyone is talking about how great Tannehill is leading this team to win on the road instead everyone is Tannebiching
Matthew Stafford, 37seconds to get in range for game winning field goal. Detroit wins. Lol it’s like the broadcast just wanted to rub it in by switching me to that game
He did have 3 timeouts and the Colts D to work with
Brian:
I am guessing we didn’t do a QB sneak because Pouncey was not playing
I hear you, but there is no excuse for it. It was wide open for the taking if they snapped the ball when they lined up. It’s three inches. If Steen can’t clear the way for that then he shouldn’t be playing. Tannehill appeared to check out of whatever play was called. Did you see my comment to you earlier?
No. When?
MikeE,
I think our whole offense didn’t do enough to win today. Tannehill was a part of that. He missed big plays that were there to be made. I don’t hear anybody talking about the great blocking on tanny’s TD run. Why? Because it’s always that way. People give the QB credit for “winning the game” on a play like that. But, all we hear around here when we lose is how EVERY other player screwed up but the QB. Those same people talk about how it’s a team game and qb’s don’t win…teams do. So then why would Tannehill be the “hero” of this game if teams win….not qb’s? Because that’s how fans think. Good or bad. It just is…and that’s cool…because it’s just a game. 😊
Ken aren’t there things you can bitch about though. Yes if we win we probably look past LBs playing poorly. We look past a few other drops by Stills. We look past the ineffective run game. We look past a couple bad protections by Tunsil. But we didn’t win so they are all up for criticism.
I’m tired of having to concede that Tannehill did great when we scored 10 fucking points. Meh. Fuck it. I’m sick of it.
He didn’t do great, but he had us in position to win the game. Concede that, and that’s all most of us are saying. That’s good enough, and all most of us want from the QB. Just win the game. We could have, but we didn’t hold.

Slatterys after the Tannehill TD
Jameis- 31
Pouncey is not good on sneaks. Sneaks are all about a power block. Low man wins. Pouncey doesn’t move people.

Ken,
I feel like I am sitting next to you at the GB game.
LMAO
Looks like most of the games where AFC-NFC matchups and most the AFC is 0-1
We are not out of this yet but lose again next week and I am throwing in the towel
Steen wasn’t the reason they didn’t try a sneak. They ran the RB off the 1 gap, need same push to get a first down that was as you do a sneak. It just takes longer to develop, so it really makes no sense
Again this is just disappointment talking most of you put us down to lose. Seattle is hard to win at.
Randy
That’s not really true. I said our team played well today, and that means everyone. We just came up short. On the other hand, when it comes to speaking of #17, and how he never gets it done at crunch time, he answered that and got it done. Sometimes the blocking wasn’t good, sometimes the receivers dropped TD’s, sometimes the defense was leaky, and sometimes the QB was erratic, and missed opportunities, but all in all, we just about played well enough in a tough situation, but unfortunately, came up short.
I’d say he brought us back and sealed the loss as well he did both, can’t say he did the one you prefer to acknowledge and ignore the other
It sucks we won the turn over battle on the road you’d expect to win. It’s a drag. 10 fucking points…
Does anyone know why the clock was running right before last play?
They called him down with possession. Clock started on the placement of the ball
But didn’t he touch it out of bounds
No. He touched it while still inbounds. He then lost it and the Seattle player knocked it out.
MikeE,
Yep, we just need to learn from this and improve next week. I’ll be most disappointed if we just spin our wheels and don’t improve week to week.
D:
There are certainly things to bitch about. My point is that some of the bitching about Tannehill is over done. We lost. The O only scored 10 points but this was hardly on Tannehill. He gave us a chance to win. He needs Stills to make a catch or Franks to make a kick
I agrre, as with most arguments involving Tanny people tend to either it ore all bad or blame him for e everything. Like with All previous arguments the reality lies in the middle
Call it all bad or…
Miami Beach FD at Slatterys this afternoon
We win in NE next week and this game was meaningless. I thought we showed a physicality we haven’t seen since the Sparano days which was great. Of course I expect us to lose next week because – well…we’re the fucking Dolphins. But I feel better about it than I did prior to today’s game. Show me the money next week.
Son
Jameis 31 – Yeah, against the Falcons defense. Perspective please
Perspective my ass when Has Tannehill put up 31? Maybe once or twice in 4 plus years
See above….. We expected a loss a according to the spreadsheet, so yeah we are disappointed but let’s keep that in perspective
Alright, tired of arguing over the same shit, have a good night all! Tanny sucks!
See that wasn’t so hard
It’s not perspective I need. It’s something much stronger that can make me forget. Lol
Leadership and large cohonas?

That’s just me Naples; these types of losses hurt me a lot more because it was right there for us. I’m not saying I want to get blown out every week. We lost 6 games by 3 point or less in 2007, and you know what people remember? 1-15. Not that we were competitive in a lot of those games.
Cav,
I hear you about next week, but if we win I’m thinking “Damn, we could have been 2-0”.
We made it tough for them to win in their own building. It actually is a moral victory for me. Critique it all you like. I can handle this one even though it was a tough loss late.
I also agree with this
You are entitled to your opinion Tim. there’s no right or wrong one in my mind.
In my mind
Everything I say is right
Okay guys and girl, I’m out. I am just thoroughly disgusted that we lost today. Hopefully we kick the shit out of the Pats next week, and they get stomped tonight as well.
Sherman, Philbin, Laser, Gase – still Tannehill’s Dolphins
Brian: I hear ya that it felt just like the GBAY Fest. Just missed Rock saying bye before their drive…
Son,
I do not get the Jameis Winston stuff. Did the Fins have a shot at him?
Just pointing out a 2nd year QB putting up points. He had an easy TD that he missed today too.
Who cares? Not our team
Son we actually put up 31 or more points 9 times in the last 4 years
Most of it in 2014
Can you beleove we did it twice against the Raiders in that span
Twice last year (Tenn And Hous)
And 5x in 2014
Once in 2013
And once in 2012
So there you have it
Weee
No one expected us to win, vegas had us 10 pt dogs, and we damn near and should have pulled out awin vs a tough D in their house where they seldom lose. We crumbled at the end, but they never gave up.. keep the effort like that and wins will follow
That’s 9 times in 65 games
I think only 1 is a loss – Denver
Remember that game in Denver
If we lose this game 26-10 I come away really bummed. Give Seattle credit for answering our last drive for a TD. They’re a top team even with their issues at some positions like everyone else. We were 10.5 pt underdogs and lost by 2. We weren’t suppose to win this game and we almost did. I can live with that even though we were so close. Dammit!!
I am just curious ,not looking to start or continue a disrespect thing,, Do you guys stand up in yer house when the anthem plays ??? I did as a kid…..just curious and not starting any thing….
I stand and pace all day long. LOL
or even does everyone stand at your workplace?
And would they continue to if everyone else did most of the time? What if they had an issue with management or national affairs? Just wondering.
They play the anthem at your work??
No
But when I see a game I do
It’s kinda expected and I would view it as an act of disrespect if I didn’t
So I would not
But I never really thought of it at home
I change the channel many times until action starts
I saw pics of the guys kneeling and stills and thomas had their hands over their heart
I don’t think they intended to be disrespectful
And I think their intent is what matters the most
Not the interpretation of it
9/11 is a big deal in NYC
I didn’t watch any of the ceremonies
I just don’t want to relive it
And I know some of my friends in NYC feel differently about it
I think being in NYC at the time it happened gives me some unique perspective on it here
But I don’t get the emotional reaction to it
I thought kneeling was designed to show respect – I didn’t interpret it the way others do
I don’t know if that is right or not
But I think you can be a proud American in a lot of different ways
That’s just me – to each their own
I thought it was really cool that the Miami FD came to NYC to support NYC firefighters lost and then watched the game at Slatterys
i think there are other things to focus on
Positive things
And I bet all those players have done positive things before but we will never know it
I think when people hear the offense sucked really bad, they automatically think Tannehill. He is the driver of the offense but obviously a few drops, some poor runs, etc, etc, etc are also to blame. But…Tannehill is to blame TOO. The offense did suck. One decent drive. Tons of opportunities like the blocked FG, dropped TD, 2 TOs,etc, etc.
Also, did anyone else know that Seattle has a brand new OL and it isn’t filled with 1st rounders? Maybe, that helped us as well. Total team loss but the defense was on point all game and they just needed 13 points. Two FGs, and one TD is it. Yep, offense blew it big time. Just like it has most of the games the past 8,9,10, etc years? It feels like forever since we had a decent offense.
We played the number 1 defense in the NFL.
And at some point we will have to beat the tough teams. At some point, we have to not make the same mistakes we’ve made for at least the past 5-6 years. Hopefully, it’s this year, but I really doubt it. Gase has his work cut out for him but I hoping for good things next year.
If you don’t stand for the National Anthem because it’s not being done where you are, you don’t do anything. When at a venue when it does happen, how about respect it. This is getting silly. We should protest something everywhere we go because it works so well. Have at it and good luck!
Tim I was asking as how patriotic your entire country is in comparison to mine. And when I was a kid, I would stand at home.. but as I great an older I don’t at home. I do at games and such, even if it is not my anthem …it’s like you say a respect thing
Its really ends up being a lightning rod for opinions if you do it publicly like they did
If you deviate from the norm – you make a statement
I doubt vey many adults stand at home
I’m sure Canadians are not much different about it
So , albeit I don’t feel it’s disrespectful
I can respect that some one else does feel that way
No I do not make the National Anthem a thing at home. But I don’t ever protest it when I’m at a place where it’s happening. I don’t need it to appreciate growing up in a great country where poverty is you actually eat. Know what I mean. Canada is basically the same. We’re pretty blessed compared to a lot of other places in the world.
Thanx pig. Was curious is all.
Thanx Tim as well
Yeah Tim
Well said
I’m not a huge fan of making the protest about some of the racial issues we are having about showing respect for our country
Cam Wake had a great quote after the game
I have to find it in Twitter and post it here
But a lot of people feel differently on the subject and how to approach it – including minorities who feel directly related by the subjects being asked to made aware of by the protest
My problem is the National Anthem doesn’t stand for injustice. I mean have we been that dumbed down? 😦
No
But I think the point is
To use it at a catalyst to stand for something
I would not personally choose to use a classic American Symbol that way bc I think we have a great history of civil rights that few countries can compare to despite our injustices
I like what Cam Wake, who stood for the anthem said
You can still love your country and protest it.
I agree
I think that is what wake was saying
Or choose not too
Obviously a lot of people feel much different about the issue
You can still love your country, and be aware of what day it is, what it means to so many people, and hold your protest off and respect the day for what it stands for, and if you must, protest the next week.
“Can” is the key phrase here
Oh so protesting the National Anthem is about things that aren’t perfect for you? Oh I get get it! Madone!! LOL
Jenine Garoffolo has 10 ALREADY on the road against a tough D in his first start. We’re screwed. Thanks Ireland.
Lol and Garrofolo
This game sucks
Hopefully the cards turn it around
In my eyes. Today they did not disrespect but by kneeling they did show their care for their cause, it made them stand out…
I thought so too
And I thought they went out of the way to make that clear by kneeling
Some with their hands over their heart
I didn’t come off as offensive to me
I think today was a bad day to do the protest. One guy on ESPN mentioned that the Seattle stand for unity really wasn’t good because unity is good but some groups need specific mention and that they didn’t do enough for those groups. Really kinda disgusting when standing for unity and respect for all ‘ isn’t; good enough’.
I saw nothing wrong with what Seattle s players did.. but in this eyes are everywhere world, someone will always have an opinion that something meant for a right reason is wrong..
Who said that on ESPN?
It was whatever the weekend show after our game is. They talked about RG3 and Wentz for a large portion of it.
Mike. I also thought that as well.. put it off for a week.
The guys who afforded the freedom died in ambushes and foxholes in planes and tanks so a bunch of “men” who got a free college education and get toplay a game for a living can protest by not showing the fellas who gave all the respect of just fucking standing up when the colors are presented.
Exactly – Besides military, all the first responders (Police, Firemen) that died on 9/11, all their friends and families are watching, and I know for a fact that many of them find these protests during the anthem very disrespectful, and on the 15 year anniversary of 9/11, keep that shit on the backburner for a week, and show some decency.
I get that, but I think kneeling with hand over heart is still respectful…more so than kneeling with fist in air, or sitting down… Kneeling still shows respect, yet as above sets them apart so it still gets their cause talked about..
It doesn’t jump out at me as a disrespectful act
Like laughing or sitting nonchalantly would
I thought it was intended to do the opposite
But I guess interpretation is what matters
Seattle is a pigsty – Look at Russell Wilson rolling around in the mud – At least he thinks it’s mud
I hope we have Mario Willims available next week
Stat
Stat
Stat
Stat
Stat
Stat
That looks like a regular football field to me, not a pigsty.
Too late I edited the post
Now people will read your post and think you are drunk
Did you? LMAO!
Do you stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning where you work?
I work for myself
The answer is no
No, but if they did, I would stand with my hand on my heart.
My wife is a teacher and they do
I play battle hymn of the republic on my bugle every morning
Really ?? That’s kinda cool
Look at Mike E’s 9:41 post
He’s drunk
Cards about to take lead
(Trotters crossed)
And no
Im still not a fan of the protests even if it is a cause that is worthy of a lot more discussion. Chicago has the highest murder rate(so far) in the past 20 years. At what point are we going to demand more from these communities and the leaders that keep failing them? I remember a discussion about LBJ’s Great Society, it’s massive failure, and how even then he was worried about the loss of the black family unit.
I think we demand more from communities with violence
It Doesn’t mean it will stop
One has nothing to do with another
Do we have to wait for all violence to end to take a stand against violence
I don’t ever understand this argument
I dont think we do is the argument. We demand more from the police which si very good but what has been done in the inner cities to bring real improvement? Where is it?

Just today for 9/11
I’ll say this about the kneeling. If Seattle can stand together and show unity, unified by country, unified by team, unified despite separation by race, political background, etc, why can’t others take a similar route. It moved me more seeing what they did than what Kaepernick, or foster, Jenkins, etc. I’m moved that unity is what we need to combat this problem and unity is what the showed.
I think that was a classy demonstration. And I don’t get why anyone had an issue with it
I liked what Seattle did a lot. II thought that was nice actually.
SB7, I understand your point but don’t you understand mine? If you can do something about an issue without any insulting something completely unrelated, why not focus yourself And your protests in the way that cN target the problem. The problem is we are divided as a country, divided by race, politics, etc. Their major issue is treatment by police officers, and the national anthem is what they attack. Do you not feel there is a better way?
^
I’m not against protest. I believe completing in taking a stand for what it’s right but a wrong to bring light to a wrong is counter productive. There are ways to draw people in stir the heart to bring about change, look to MLK, he changed hearts. He promoted unity. Jackson and sharpton Farrakhan etc promote striking out, aggression and unrest as tools for change and that may get them temporary respond but it makes others dig in in defense against that aggression. They promote division. Proof that it doesn’t work is where we are now, vs where we were after MLK.
Zona ball woohoo
Honestly was anyone even aware of this

I know who was kneeling
What kaep did, etc…
But this went under the radar
Seems to me people dwell on the negative
David Johnson just had an amazing play.
So did fitz. Wow
I really got into this game, had a blast !
All I ever really ask is that we can compete week in and week out
And yesterday we did.
We have some things to clean up for sure, going to have to figure out how to score
But this game had something we’ve been missing for awhile
Competitiveness
