2018 Miami Dolphins – Free Agency – C’s

This is the last look at free agent offensive linemen.  We’ve already covered the tackles and the guards, and now it’s time to look at the centers.  This may be an exercise in futility, i get that, but there is always the possibility that we actually move on from C Mike Pouncey, whether it’s due to injury, salary, or a combination of both.  So many fans are freaking out because we’re over the cap by $19M, and Mike Pouncey counts $9M against the cap, but this year his dead cap hit is only $2M, so releasing Pouncey for financial reasons is feasible.  Can we replace him?  I’m here to take a look at whether we can.

Ryan Jensen  6’3 310  26YO

11_JensenStory_news

Jensen started all 16 games last season for the Baltimore Ravens.  He was drafted by the ravens in the 6th RD of the 2013 draft.  He played some at LG and RG before finally becoming the Ravens center last season.  He didn’t participate at the combine, but just to compare since the combine is all the rage right now, at his Colorado pro day, Jensen ran a 5.28 40, an 8’2′ broad jump, 25 1/2″ vertical, and put up 30 reps of 225lbs.  Once again, I invoke the sentiment that if he can play for the Ravens, he can play for us.  Spotrac projects Jensen to be worth around $9M per, so we would have to make his 1st year contract a cap friendly one, which isn’t difficult when you’re doing a long term deal.

**********************************************************************************

Weston Richburg  6’3 298  26YO

Philadelphia Eagles v New York Giants

Weston Richburg was drafted in the 2nd RD by the Giants in the 2014 NFL draft.  He started 47 of 48 games his first 3 seasons with the Giants.  In 2017, Westburg suffered a concussion on Oct 1,  (Game 4) and his slow recovery forced the Giants to put him on IR, ending his season.  Richburg was a solid, if unspectacular starter for the Giants.  The fact that they IRed him in his money year showed they didn’t really have any intention of re-signing him.  He’s a young, average to above average NFL center.  Missing 12 games in his final year before FA will hurt him salary wise, but how much, I don’t know.

***********************************************************************************

Russell Bodine  6’3 310  25YO

613744004.0

Now here’s a guy we should be interested in.  Only 25 years old, he has started every single game in his 4 years in the NFL with the Bengals.  His combine numbers were pretty impressive.  5.18 40, 42 reps of 225lbs, 29; vertical (both his bench press and vertical were tops).  Bodine is a powerful guy who moves people and plays with a mean streak.  He sounds like a perfect candidate here, but I have no idea what kind of salary he will be looking for.

************************************************************************************

Brian Schwenke 6’3 314  27YO

schwenke600-080115

I remember watching Schwenke in the Senior Bowl back in 2013 and being impressed by the kid.  Stout powerful, with a chip on his shoulder, he did really in the drills, especially the mano a mano drills.  He was drafted in the 4th RD in ’13 by the Titans, but his career never really took off there, starting only 30 games over 5 years.  If you go by his combine numbers, he matches up pretty well, running a 4.99 40, putting up 31 reps, running a 7’31 cone drill, but all that hasn’t translated into NFL success.  He would be an inexpensive pickup, but to expect him to play up to even an injured 80% Mike Pouncey level of play would be unlikely.

**************************************************************************************

Travis Swanson  6’5 312  27YO

453440734.0

So we want to replace one puff pastry with another?  Travis Swanson seems to me like Mike Pouncey light (very light!).  Just about the same size as Pouncey, Swanson is a finesse player, but was also a 2 time captain at Arkansas.  Swanson has 42 starts over 4 years for the Detroit Lions, last year starting and playing in only 11 games.  He was put on IR for the 2nd time in 2 years due to concussion issues.  It’s been heavily rumored we have interest in Swanson, but I don’t get it.  Didn’t we learn from Jordan Cameron?  Should we replace our C with gossamer hips for a C with scattered grey matter?  I’ll take a pass on that one, thank you! LOL – Is it me, or does Swanson even look like he’s trying to figure out what it is he’s doing on the field?

***********************************************************************************

So this completes the O-line folks.  If you have any suggestions of guys I may have missed, feel free to mention them on the blog.

Piggy – Did you really want to just Keep Landry on the tag? To what end? he was NEVER going to sign here, because we were never going to pay him what he wanted.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Not only that, but he would be miserable the entire season, he could smell that money he was getting. Did you see that video of him from last night? He was on cloud 9 because he got his precious.

  2. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    So here we go…

Once we cut Timmons and J. Thomas, we’ll have roughly $12M in cap space to play with in FA… and the cuts probably won’t stop there. If we sign Nigel Bradham, we won’t have to worry about getting a LB in Tremaine Edmunds or Roquan Smith in the Draft; our starting LBs would be Bradham, Raekwon, and Kiko.

This opens us up to take a top-4 QB or Quenton Nelson, but there’s no guarantee that any of them will be available @ R1P11… I see us making a push to move up. And if we really want to have much of a choice (instead of settling for the last guy available), we’re probably eyeing R1P4 (Cleveland).

I don’t know how to get there without trading current and future Draft capital… other than to trade Suh to Cleveland. And if we trade Suh to Cleveland, we’d better have an answer to replace him.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

      Edna Kish will replace him!

    • I’d say Suh to the Browns or one of the other teams that have a good deal of cap space is a pretty good possibility. He’d be a pretty good value for a team looking to get better on the d-line as we’d be eating all the bonus.

Also, don’t rule out a trade of Tannehill. I know Tim and others are sold that he’s our qb this year but I’m not buying it until we actually see him in camp and preseason. He’s another one who’s as good as gone as far as I’m concerned. The cap dump just started. There will be more to come and we’re not restructuring Tannehill because he’s not part of our future plans.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t think Tannehill won’t be traded because we love him, I can’t imagine any team would trade for him now, even after a physical, without seeing him in action with his knee injury.

      • I think there comes a point in time for a team like this when the people running the show says “it’s time to go in another direction because doing what we’ve been doing hasn’t been working” and this is that time.

Tannehill is as good as gone. I’d get used to it now so people don’t have another meltdown like they did with Landry.

    • I’d take Shelton in a trade for Suh.

  3. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I won’t shed a tear if we trade Tannehilll, I’d be fine with it. I certainly won’t melt down. It looks we want to change things, that would be one more step in doing so

  4. I’ve heard Edna Kish makes one hell of a knish.

  5. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

When did Landry become Antonio Brown?

I really liked the guy, but he wanted out. We heard all the rumblings about his running his own routes, his agent bad mouthing players, and who knows what else went on. I’m not happy at all he’s gone, but I’m glad there wasn’t another bad contract. There is a reason only a couple teams were in the running…..

I wish him the best in Cleveland. May he continue the success of all the past Phin WRs there.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I’m right with you on that. Landry is a great slot receiver, but we’ve all seen what happens when you put him on the outside….pretty average. Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t get many millions for that, but as he showed exactly how many is debatable.

  6. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

HULKSTER; I HOPE you are continuing to recover. We sure need your words of wisdom now, more than ever, counselor.
    ————————
My recent extended absence from this sight had nothing to do with the continued decline of this franchise. Just after the totally unexpected passing of our beloved Greyhound, I was hit by a truck (actually a serious side-swiping) so hard that it totaled my “Dolphin-mobile.” I was able to save my 1972 NFL CHAMPIONS front license plate, but that was about it. The vehicle was a total loss. A couple of days later, both of my hearing aids malfunctioned (they’re only a few months old). Then my youngest daughter, the one being treated for daily grand mal seizures, unexpectedly had a massive seizure while visiting one of her daughters (our youngest grand daughter) in Virginia. She got her skull stitched-up, her other wounds were treated, and, with a special head wrapping, she was flown back to her home in Tennessee where her husband, a para-medic instructor, is taking care of her. We are extremely upset about this situation. She’s scheduled to see her doctors at Vanderbilt who’ve been treating her for about two decades. It just tears me UP!!

We’ve had a few other, less serious, setbacks, but we SHALL OVERCOME THEM!! – – Thankfully, my job has become ultra-busy, for which I’m very thankful. Not enough hours in the day to handle all this, but I’ll find a way (with Mrs. OD’s invaluable help).

    Peace.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Sorry to hear about all of that, but particularly your daughter having trouble again. Was hoping the surgery would do it. Where you OK after the accident? That’s all a lot to go through.

      • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

        I’m mostly Ok, YS.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Glad to hear it. And if you need some advice on the practical side of the crash aftermath, you know my number. Plus Pig and Ken are lawyers and Ken handles that stuff all the time.

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

OD, really sorry to hear about some really trying times for you. I hope things start to take a turn for the better!

  7. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Sorta amazed at the boiling over reactions to the Landry trade, but guess I shouldn’t since have been on the board after many a loss. I expected him not to be with us, even if thought a long-term re-sign was an outside chance. After the Quinn signing, never thought he’d be playing for us on the franchise amount.

So what happened was already “baked in.” Was no more shocked than would be if another woman comes forward to say Trump cheated on his wife with me.

  8. Seems to be a lot of chatter out there that we’re going to be seeing a ton of stuff from this team over the next few days. Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a wild ride.

  9. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I’m not mad or upset. I chuckle when everybody thinks I am. I actually enjoy watching this sort of stuff happen. Trying to figure out how to build a team is one of the more enjoyable aspects of watching the Dolphins, to me. Thankfully, they’ve been doing it for 25 years now, so i’m enjoying it.

  10. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    MY pre-FA Draft (v4, 3/10/18)

FA: Nigel Bradham, LB; CJ Anderson, RB
    *= traded Suh to Cleveland

    *R1P4: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
    R2P10: Mike Gesicki, TE, PSU
    R3P9: Frank Ragnow, C/G, Arkansas
4a: Allen Lazard, WR, Iowa State
4b: Durham Smythe, TE, Notre Dame
    6. Toby Weathersby, OT, LSU
7a. Skai Moore, OLB, South Carolina
    7b. Christian Campbell, CB, PSU

  11. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

John Dorsey said he was going to bring good veteran players in to get this team going in the right direction. They can easily afford Suh, so why not?

P.S. Edna Kish completely endorses trading Suh

  12. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

LOL @ Lou! Not that I agree with that, but it still cracked me up!

  13. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

So….. did anybody want to pay Landry 16.5M a year and 55M guarantee? Just call me a moron.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Oh hell no ER! I didn’t want to pay him a penny more than the $13.5M million, which i thought was crazy as it was.

  14. how the fuck do they do it!!!?

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

The patriots pick is basically a 4th, because we know they will likely be picking at the end of RD3, and they got the 1st pick of RD 5 this year. They basically swapped a RD of picks, and gave away Shelton

  15. does anyone else find it interesting that not one player from the Phins posted anything wishing Juice well now that he’s leaving?

  16. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I didn’t want to pay Landry that kind of money either, but I do think folks are somewhat underestimating the impact he had on moving the chains and making tannehill’s life a lot easier. I still hope Parker can step up his game, but this receiving Corp as it’s currently made up…scares nobody. Teams are gonna be stacking the box and not worrying about us getting over the top or behind them. Oh wait, that’s how teams have been playing us for 6 years. Lol

  17. we’re getting ready for it. word out of CLE is they’re about to announce another trade and this one could be the one that sends Suh to CLE.

  18. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Lou,
That was kinda my point. Tannehill has always been easy to defend because he’s slow to read defenses and usually preferred to dump it off to Landry. Granted, his OL hasn’t helped, but Tannehill has really never been a QB who can back a team off the LOS. He also doesn’t help himself by being mobile inside the pocket and buying that extra split second to make throws.
    ^^^
I’ll stop now before the tanneholics come out and start quoting one stat to justify how good he is….even though Cutler had just as good production with a much worse situation. Lol

  19. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I think there are plenty of teams out there who would go after Suh, if the Dolphins are truly shopping him. Better for a team to trade and get him than getting into a bidding war when he’s a FA. Now, we may not get what we hope for because it’s a similar situation to Landry, but there will be teams who want a top 3-5 DT. At least that’s what my crystal ball tells me. That fucker is never wrong.

  20. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Jarvis was definitely a ME player, just like OBJ. Brothers in more way than one

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Telling you, he looked like Smeagle last night talking about the trade. He got his precious.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Can’t blame the guy for liking what his pay day will be….probably figures he won the whole thing to get it as well.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t blame him for anything, but I also don’t want to hear that we screwed up, when we didn’t. Dude wanted the money, he got it. Now he’s gone, so fuck ’em!

  21. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Stat with Landry

  22. bat's avatar bat says:

Hey …is this thing on? …Can anybody hear me? ..

  23. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Stanger

My hope is we get a real TE that owns the middle, and then no one will be thinking about Landry.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Been a lot of our hopes for many a year….but TEs are a quirky bunch. Like WRs and QBs. Never know exactly what you are getting and can take time to develop.

  24. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

You guys with your smearing of players we trade

    It’s just laughable man

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

      Licking their balls is better?

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        Reconizng their contributions is better

Here is my prediction for 2018
All the same problems with different names
        And some new problems too

Get serious – the problem with this team was never landry or Ajayi or whomever is next

If you buy into the idea that we are a better team by getting rid of them, you are a mark and I have a bridge to seek you

That sort of talk is just allowing the coaches one FO to continue toil in mediocrity

It was bad enough with Ajayi , it’s worse with Landry

      • Fact is when Ajayi was producing on offense we were a better team. When Landry produces on offense we lose more games than we win.

    • It would be a different story if we were a perennial playoff team and Landry was a huge part of that success but we weren’t. We had losing records the two season he had over 100 catches so he’s been more a part of our sucksess than anything .

  25. bat's avatar bat says:

How the HELL is everybody? … I have been compelled by blind fury to end my self imposed exile …

  26. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bat – You mad bro? Do tell . . .

  27. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Piggy – So retire his number on the side of the blog. I recognized him plenty when he was here, now he’s gone, and that’s that. Do we need a week of ass kissing to get through it? Also, who said he was a perfect teammate? It’s true, I only saw former teammates now on different teams congratulating him, no one from the current team. Why do you suppose that is? Is it not possible he was selfish?

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

No he’s not selfish. The guy was a beast of a blocking receiver

      It’s really not about him

It’s about the idea that we are getting rid of players bc of their personality.
It’s just mismanagement. People are desperate to justify the moves of the Fo and can’t come to terms with these moves as acts of desperation

So blame the player if you want to, next season you be blaming another player and another one after that

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You’re saying i’s about personality, I never said that. He wanted more money than he was worth to us, that’s it.

  28. bat's avatar bat says:

So we trade our most productive player to the Browns for a 4th round pick, which most likely will produce a less than mediocre player who will languish on the practice squad for a couple of years before either washing out of the league, or becoming a star for the Cheatriots. Plus a valuable 7th round pick next year. Of course, getting Landry’s salary off the books frees up money for Tannenbaum to stock up on brilliant FA acquisitions like Mario Williams, Timmons, Julius Thomas and Maxwell …Seems like the plan is coming together perfectly ..SMH

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Tannembaum is basically the most fidgety GM in the NFL
      He has to stay busy
So getting rid of the pieces that ring some return back keeps him busy

      He’s a disaster

  29. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

What is Landry’s deal with CLE?

  30. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Awwww, looks like Bat was smitten with Landry. How adorable!

  31. bat's avatar bat says:

Mike ..LOL . Not quite smitten, but I did appreciate the fact that despite his occasional mental breakdowns, he was one of the few guys who seemed to really give a shit.

  32. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

been doing taxes for several days and missed the news about the Landry trade. Gotta admit, a 4th rounder was not even close to what I thought we’d get… but it was, afterall, a “salary dump”.

Last week I posed the question about all the D-linemen on the roster if that meant Suh’s salary was going to get dumped. I never came back to see answers….
… but reading through the posts above it seems like many are thinking that this may in fact be the plan.

If so, and if it is the Browns again …. what do we get in return? or do we “dump the salary” along with our R1P11 to go up to pick 4?

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

What do I know, but think the talk about getting rid of Suh came up cause the whole world knew we had to make some cap moves before start of the league season and some ran with it from there (yeah looking at you ProfLou). With Landry gone that is not much of an issue any more….and guessing the tweets on Suh will die down. For me at least, this team is not going into rebuild.

  33. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Can you guys name Tannebaums best Free Agent acquisitions with the Dolphins?

  34. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

    Regarding Landry:
Thanks for all those first downs!!!!! So many Sundays the last two years where Landry and Ajayi gave me some hope each time the ball was snapped. BUT … there is one thing certain…
… there are very few players in the NFL that are irreplaceable. We will find more talent and at a price that doesn’t inhibit our ability to build the rest of the roster.

  35. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bat – I know Landry gave a shit, no doubt. He was as competitive a player we’ve had in a while. Still, his blowups cost us some drives, because he couldn’t keep himself in check. I swear, I don’t think we’ll miss him at all this season, but I’m going to have to wait until it happens prove it. We bring in a dangerous pass catching TE, we’ll be like Jarvis who? At least I will be, Piggy might be crying by his Landry shrine in his office. lol

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      Exactly

How can anyone justify the move based on salary
Do we want tannebaum to have more cap room

      He has the toxic touch

  38. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      That’s not true Mike
Sure some go back to the well they know
But some Successful teams hire successful assistant coaches or in some cases coaches who could not make it as head coaches

Jim Schwartz was an important hite for the Eagles last off-season

Gase could have used some vets around him

1 OG Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame
    2a OLB/ILB Leighton Vander Esch
2b TE Mike Gesicki, Penn State

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      And it failed

I know some coaches do that

Gase is hopelessly inexpirenced and could use a vet assistant

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It sure did, but I only used it because we’re both familiar with it. Parcells half assed it from the start, he never had his heart in it. 69. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

My thought process on the WR position — now that Jarvis is gone — is that we’d probably like to see DeVante show and prove this year. In the event that he lets us down again, it would be wise to draft his potential replacement this year.

So as late to the party as I’ve been on the WR position, I’m putting in work now.

IF we’ve got a suitable slot replacement for Jarvis already in-house (as Prof Lou continues to allude to), it would behoove us to get after the likes of a BIG, boundary WR like DJ Chark, Equanimeous St. Brown, or Allen Lazard. That would cover us against losing DeVante in ’19 (should he flame out this year), and could help Tannehill in ’18. However, I’m not good with drafting a WR early, yet again.

I guess what I’m trying to say is this: do NOT be surprised if we target a WR early, though I’d advise against as much. I’d be happy with Lazard in the 4th, rather than swinging for the fences early with DJ Chark or ESB (Equanimeous St. Brown).

We’ve GOT to get this O-Line fixed and we’ve GOT to get a stud TE!

    • I don’t see it as replacing Landry. I see it as going in a different direction with the offense. Again, I go back to wk 14 of last yr vs the Pats and look at the offense we put on the field then and how many players we got involved in the passing games and, the plays and the way we were stacking wr’s, etc.

The offense should never be all about one guy and we’ve got enough talent at wr to get it done. We need to add a rb to the stable and get at least one TE who can help us in the passing game. We do that and we won’t miss Landry one bit.

and, yes, get the offensive line fixed once and for all.

The guy didn’t miss a game his first 4 seasons, he got hurt once, and then because he didn’t get surgery, had the same knee go on him. That’s so far from always hurt though.

The reality is that if you have a team who’s success is tied to any one player…maybe aside from a truly elite, franchise QB…then you don’t have a good team. Landry was a very good player…would have liked to get a bit more in compensation…but it was close. Not a big fan of the move, but I get it.
    ***
Again, this team will go as the OL goes. The OL sets the tone for your offense. If you can’t win there, you need a great QB, or you’ll struggle. We’ve gotten better in some ways in the last 2 years, but we still need plenty of improvement there. We need better players one way or another.

  77. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I LOVE seeing the totality of fans weighing in on a recent and HUGE matter!

Thus, I’m constructing the types of Dolphins fans there are…

    A) LOYALTY to the owner
    — Because it doesn’t matter how many bad moves s/he makes, you’re a DIE-HARD fan and support this millionaire owner, who is making money off your fandom via merchandise, season tickets, and your blind faith… even after failure after failure. 0-16? NO PROBLEM! Your now faded bumper sticker from a decade(s) ago shows your unwavering support of a team that has sucked for YEARS. The owner is always right because s/he has $$$… and you can’t think for yourself.

    B) LOYALTY to the team
    — See “A” above, but you’re tired of losing. You want to see your team FINALLY come back to relevancy, but you still tow the company line and bow down to every decision they make with no deference. You think, “maybe next year will be the year!”, but you know deep down that something probably needs to change. You don’t want to make any ripples in the water… after all, you ARE loyal and don’t want to come off as thinking otherwise. Like “A” above, you’ll roll with every decision the franchise makes, for better or worse.

    C) LOYALTY to the legacy
    — You’ve tasted victory and are a DIE-HARD fan. Unlike “A” and “B”, you KNOW how messed up the franchise has become over the last decade or so, and challenge both the owner and the team with their so-called ‘vision’ for the present and the future… only wanting them to do BETTER than in recent years. Your frustration comes out due to recent failures via the status-quo of the owner and team vision.

    D) FRUSTRATED fan
    — You’ve invested many, many years of your fandom in a franchise that’s gone nowhere but south. You KNOW where mistakes have been made and wish them to be corrected. You’re a DIE-HARD, but continue to see the results of very bad decision making. You don’t mean to sound negative, but your team’s record speaks for itself in recent years. You want to see positive results to change your attitude about the team you love, but you just know it’s not going to happen.

    E) INTELLIGENT/POSITIVE fan
    — You are “D” above, and have answers to fix the problems. Your love of the team is so unwavering that you propose intelligent fixes to get the team back to relevancy. But unlike “D” above, all is not lost. There is a way to make it happen to the positive.

    F) INTELLIGENT/REALIST fan
    — You are “E” above, but additionally recognize where the dead-weight lies. Not everything is positive or negative, and you know what must be done to fix the franchise.

    G) INTELLIGENT/NEGATIVE fan
    — Like “E” and “F” above, you know what’s up. The difference is that you want to destroy EVERYTHING related to recent failures… whether it be a ‘reset’ or ‘reboot’. You feel as though your fandom has been betrayed at the highest of levels, and wish to burn it ALL down to the ground.

As for me? I think I’m a little bit of everything… except for “A” and “B”.

  78. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Earlier today, I talked to somebody who knows exactly NOTHING about the NFL. Now follow me…

I told him that we spent a 2nd rounder on Jarvis Landry in the 2014 Draft. Jarvis then went on to set the now NFL-record of most catches by a receiver in his first 4 years in NFL HISTORY. Not only that, but Jarvis led the NFL in receptions just last year with 112 (9 TDs, to boot).

So I asked him… what would be a fair exchange? He said a 1st rounder, to be sure! When I told him that we got a 4th rounder and 7th rounder instead, he LAUGHED OUT LOUD!!! “That’s your Dolphins!!!”.

Peeps, it doesn’t take a rocket-scientist to realize that we got HOSED on the Jarvis-to-Cleveland deal. BUT… and at the end of the day… it was all about dispatching the $$$ to another team, being we tagged him for $16M.

And some of y’all think that the salary cap doesn’t matter… “it will work itself out”… 😆

Also after watching Landry catch 100 passes a year, break tackles every game, lead our team in stars this year, block downfield and do everything we asked of him – can we stop referring to Landry as just another slot receiver

That’s just a negative way to look at it. You guys act like every acquisition we make is just about Tannenbaum and Grier and Gase have no input. Gase is trying to put a team together he wants. The team’s success or lack thereof is on him. Just remember he’s hated his offense for two years now and thought they put the defense in bad spots. So he’s making changes.

The game plan is to be more explosive, score more points and then play an aggressive attacking style of defense. Can’t do that when you’re trailing all the time and the opponent isn’t worried about you coming back. Too many games like that last year.

That’s what we need to replace – and there are few players in the nfl who do that
