A cursory glance at our record in the standings might lead one to think this season was a failure. 5-11 and last place in the division by itself is not an impressive achievement. In context however, getting to 5-11 with the roster Brian Flores was given to work with in 2019 is actually pretty impressive. The final game win over the Patriots in Foxborough the cherry on top of the sundae. The Dolphins shed the roster of a large quantity of players, some with legit talent such as LT Laremy Tunsil, defector S Minkah Fitzpatrick, DE Robert Quinn, WR Kenny Stills and Kenyan Drake and a multitude of injuries that stripped the roster down considerably. Xavien Howard played (injured) in only 5 games in the beginning of the season before being placed on IR. Reshad Jones played in only 4 games. T.J. McDonald was released in August. DB Bobby McCain played in only 9 games. Charles Harris was there but he was all but invisible for 14 games. For perspective, our defensive backfield the majority of the season was Nik Needham, Jomal Wiltz, Eric Rowe, Steven Parker, Chris Lammons and then followed by half the season or less with Ken Webster, Adrian Colbert, Montre Hartage Ken Crawley, Johnson Bademosi and of course MTM sucked for 2 games for us. Get the picture? It was like GOT, a cast of too many to recall.
Our leading rusher was our QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, with 243 yards. Neither Kenyan Drake nor Kalen Ballage were able to establish that they were a feature back, and Mark Walton who was on the precipice of doing so was then hit with an 8 game suspension for previous wrongdoings which unceremoniously ended his season. Kenyan Drake was traded to the Arizona Cardinals where he became a superstar (JKJBB) which gave Kalen Ballage his best opportunity ever. Ballage was abysmal really, awful even, averaging less than 2 YPC on 74 carries. By the end of the season we were down to Myles Gaskin who was injured in Week 16 which left only Patrick Laird and De’Lance Turner. Whew!
Bright spots! DeVante Parker realized all his wondrous potential and showed us just how good he can be. It was stunning really, that boy can play! His renaissance began about mid season but took off Week 10 against Indy and didn’t stop. The man was making catches in crowds where he simply ignored his safety and went up and snared the football with his 2 huge hands with total disregard for his body and made the catch. Time and time again we witnessed this as the chemistry between Parker and Fitzgerald was undeniable. Early in the season Preston Williams was cementing his status as a go to guy but was injured Week 9 against the Jets. Albert Wilson took a while to shake off the rust and by the end of the season, he started to resemble the guy from early to mid 2018 before his hip injury. Allen Hurns was a nice pickup and he also was returning from an injury last season and I think he will pay more dividends in the future. Rookie Isaiah Ford showed a lot of promise as well and was establishing himself as a legitimate WR by season’s end. Mike Gesicki turned into the receiving threat TE we thought we drafted. He showed nice growth and I think is just getting started as to what he can be.
On defense Taco Charlton who we picked up on waivers was our leading sack man with 5. Vince Biegel who we picked up in the trade with New Orleans had 13 QB hits. Davon Godchaux had a very solid season with over 70 tackles. Jerome Baker one of the defensive leaders on the team continues to play well and grow. Some of the youngsters in the no name secondary proved they are NFL worthy contributors and some will round out our depth back there very nicely. Andrew Van Ginkle showed a little promise in the limited time he played, he was on IR for much of the season (10 games). Eric Rowe who looked overmatched out on the boundary was a pleasant surprise when they moved him to safety. Rowe looks certain to be in the mix for one of the safety spots next season. A bunch of the no-name guys also excelled at ST’s and that’s an important dynamic on a football team. Walt Aikens continued his ST’s excellence this season.
Not getting caught up in hyperbole, I think the future is bright for our team. The Dolphins check in at #2 of teams with highest cap space available in 2020 with $94M +, just shy of the Indianapolis Colts who are only $2M higher. We have currently picks #5 and #18 in RD 1 along with one more pick which is tied to the success or failure of the Houston Texans against the Kansas City Chiefs. If the Texans lose the pick is at #25, if they win it continues to fall to the end of the 1st RD if they keep winning. THREE 1st RD picks! We also have picks #39 and #56 in RD 2. IN RD 3 we have pick #70. The good stuff ends in the 4th RD where we currently hold no picks. We do however, have three 5th RD picks. We have two 6th RD picks and one 7th RD pick. That’s a huge haul, which by the way does not include compensatory picks whose value has yet to be revealed although it’s value is likely set. Figure a 4th RD for Ja’Wuan James and somewhere between a 5th-7th for Cam Wake. That should result in a haul of 14 total draft picks in 2020. Draft party anyone???
In 2020 Free Agency, I don’t think we’re gunning for the top stars, although we have the cap space to do so. I think we’ll get some meat and potatoes, maybe even some prime rib but most likely no filet mignon. This is going to be a team, we’re not going to be shopping for “ME” players. I admittedly may be getting so caught up in that mantra that I actually believe we may not select a QB early in this draft while it’s expected our #5 pick is reserved for just that. I have been pounding the table that in the NFL you need to have a top QB. In 2020 I’m not convinced that is completely accurate. I think you need to have a well rounded team, one that can run the ball effectively and play strong defense. Defense wins championships. That still rings true. I know this will come off as a slight to Ryan Tannehill and I apologize in advance for those offended, but just look at the success of the Tennessee Titans. Ryan Tannehill is near the top of the leaderboards in a few passing categories. As per usual, he’s not a TD machine, but he has been a careful and effective game manager. 22 TD’s in today’s NFL doesn’t quite cut it. It can work if you have the leading rusher on your team and the Titans happen to have this year’s best in Derrick Henry. 303 carries for 1540 yards and 16 TD’s. Add in another 2 TD’s receiving for Henry and you can see how important Henry was to their success.
Ryan Tannehill was a complimentary player this season and he did his job very well. He had only 6 INT’s and 1 lost fumble. I’m not going to throw the game manager label on him but HC Mike Vrabel clearly didn’t want or ask Ryan Tannehill to put the team on his back, that was Derrick Henry’s job. Think I’m lying? Last season Derrick Henry had 215 carries, this season Mike Vrabel increased his carries 41%, FORTY ONE PERCENT to 303! I’m not bitter about Ryan Tannehill’s success, but I think it’s important to give credit where credit is due. I can almost guarantee that you if the Baltimore Ravens shut down Derrick Henry and force Ryan Tannehill to win the game through the air the results will be glum for the visiting Titans. So what’s my point? It sounds like I’ve talked myself out of what I was saying that this is a team game, right? I haven’t. We need a capable QB to pilot our team but I’m not convinced it has to be one of the 1st RD QB’s. We have Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen next season. We won’t need a QB to step in right away and I still haven’t given up hope that Josh Rosen could be the guy. Years ago 1st RD QB’s sat for a while, and Aaron Rodgers sat for 3 seasons behind Brett Favre. Maybe he needs more seasoning and development. I can tell you he’s watching a fine leader in Ryan Fitzpatrick lay down the foundation of how to lead a team. I’m so enamored with Fitzpatrick and feel embarrassed by saying it would be “boring” to watch him start instead of seeing what we have in Rosen instead.
I think we’re going to build a team, and I think QB is not necessarily the top priority like so many think it is. Hey, I’m wrong at least 50% of the time so it’s not like my track record gives me any foundation for this, but I have a feeling we’re going to hit the trenches in FA, bring in at a minimum 2-3 OL, 2 of them legit starters and one backup. They won’t be old either, probably none older than 28 or 29 for the starters. I think we will do the same on the defensive side, at least one DT/DE, a pass rushing type, and then a LB who can also rush the passer. Same formula, not likely older than 29. We have money, we have to spend some of it and we will. We hit the draft with some key holes filled and continue to add significant talent on the O-line and D-line. We must bring in talent at RB. I wouldn’t mind in the least a 1st RD pick on a RB. We need lots of help in the secondary so CB and S will be priorities. Hopefully the picture of what is going down with CB Xavien Howard is clearer before FA and the draft so we can address it properly. We need depth in the secondary no matter what, but if we know Xavien Howard won’t be missing much time if any would be a boon.
I’m ready for the assault for the Tannehill defenders, I stand behind every word I say and have illustrated my point well. Have at it, I’m here. I’m here for those who think we must take a QB at 5 as well. It’s just how I feel. Heck, I’m here for everything I say really, so if you don’t agree with anything, sling away! I think we will take a QB in this draft but I won’t be surprised if it’s in RD 2 or later. The Tua to Miami thing I feel is way overblown. Every athlete handles injuries differently. The best example of a successful player overcoming a brutal injury history is none other than former Dolphins RB Frank Gore. Gore tore his left leg ACL twice in college and then went on to play 15 years with over 15,000 yards, so go figure. If the Dolphins really are all in for Tua I can only hope he’s like Frank Gore.
GO DOLPHINS!!!
#staythecourse

I don’t see the Ravens coming back but there is the entire 4th quarter. They have to make plays and fast.
Not the way Titans D has been playing , nope
The Ravens are playing like they’re running out the clock. This will not get it done.
That made that look easy
Wasn’t the plan all along for Tanny to lead his team deep into the playoffs? 🙂
Right?!
So was it one of your cigarette butts that started the Aussie fires ??
Bus driver on one of our tours was real worried about me….. but far as I know no fire started. 🙂
Tannehill doing his Joe Montana imitation.
So Henry and his 186 yards rushing, isn’t the reason it’s Thill and his 88 yards passing?
Tanny and his 109 passer rating made them lay off Henry so he could get those yards.
Worried how ? That ya would start another one or get. Consumed by it ?
Lol
I pinched the cherry off my butt and stepped on it, but guess wasn’t good enough for him…. he re-stepped on it with gusto. But get why the folks there were freaked out and carefull.
Let it go bro. He executed the game plan perfectly. The entire Titans team has played a great game. It’s not about yards, it’s about points and winning. He’s thrown two TDs and ran for one. You still can’t give him props?
The Titans defense is the MVP to me. They really showed up, but so did everyone else.
That said it’s not over. LOL
No but a lot closer now.
Henry and the Defence have been very good but , Tannehill has thrown 2 really nice TD passes
He only threw for 2 TDs and ran for another. But nothing to see here.
What a Choke by the ravens
Nope they got outplayed. Vrabel out-coached Harbaugh. BAL sat starters in week 17 and then had the bye. Belichick never does that. You play football and finish the job. Vrabel knows that. I think Harbaugh got cocky and it bit him in the ass.
I’m not saying he hasn’t done his part but you guys are screaming Thill like he’s doing it all. Any QB with a RB who runs for 186+ should be able to do what he is doing. Also stanger you don’t think it’s the other way around? 186 yard rusher not opening up the passing game. I don’t see how I can’t say a counter point with out getting that much thrown back at me and there not be a tad of his as among the rest of y’all.
Tad bit of bias
Was just joking around more than anything. Know Tanny threw for less than a hundo. May be he could have done more…. but seems the Ravens just couldn’t stop Henry. So no need.
Let what go Tim. I have made one comment. Lol wtf, why don’t you let it go.
You guys kinda proved the point lol.
Don’t put it on me, D. Hope all is well.
KC doesn’t defend the run very well
Something to consider in the afc championship if they win tomorrow
D , I’m not saying Tannehill took the team on his back and single handedly defeated the Ravens .. I was however very impressed with both of his TD throws.. I’m happy for the guy ..🤷🏻
I said earlier this year he has improved some in areas he never did with us. I think a lot has to do with better coaching than he had with us. Still Tenn has had great OL play and they have a great running to take things off of him. I’m happy for him I just think the anointment of him as the elite QB that got away is silly. Read back and you would think he was throwing for 400 yards, and handling this all on his own. I like the guy, I am very happy they won and beat the Ravens even though I didn’t expect that.
Agree totally, he landed in a perfect situated by the looks of it .. and no , no delusions that he is the next coming of Drew Brees, but hey even Trent Dilfer helped win a Super Bowl.
So happy for RT!
He’s a good man. Titans got a pretty good deal at $1.875 mil this season.
Stanger: yes I also understand the drivers concern . And there are a lot of irresponsible smokers out there …
Gotta understand that a pinched cherry is done in like 5 seconds even when not stepped on. Different than a lit butt. But yeah better safe than sorry.
I am getting my Tannehill jersey out of the closet
I was thinking of doing the same thing with mine lol
👍
Bob Griese like passing stats lol
Congrats to Ryan Tannehill being 2-0 in his first playoff appearances. Well done for a good guy.
Anyone got a can of blue spray paint?
Just bleach it white 😊
Good idea 😁
Don’t spray that jersey yet….. Tanny is a FA. 🙂
Hulk slowly puts the can of spray paint down
Can always just go put your tag down instead.

In all honesty I know Henry and the OL are what drives the Titans but Tannehill’s 2 TD throws were both awesome throws
They really were sweet ass throws
Ravens out, KC is the next beast. Does HOU upset them?
They better not I want a better draft choice
I actually would not mind pick 32… there is lots of movement at that spot, with teams thinking Wow our guy is still on the board at end of day 1, let’s get him
I like the late round 1st for a RB. Special talents at every position matters. Is Henry a run of the mill RB?
Wasn’t Henry a 2nd round pick?
What!?! This can’t happen. This is a passing league now! I thought teams can’t win anymore running the ball and playing good defense. This is just awesome to watch the way they are doing it. Tannehill is a good manager of this offense and can catch you off guard with a big throw. He will never be elite though. However, we should knock him for his pedestrian numbers. Hell, look at Garoppolo’s numbers today in their win, 11 of 19, 57.9% 131 yards, 1 TD 1 INT. They won with great D and so did the Titans.
^
Look at how the game played out. Stats don’t tell the whole story.
^^^^^^^
Time to continue to build our defense and it needs to start in the trenches. Maybe target 49er’s Arik Armstead, 6’7″ 300 pounds, in free agency to be one of our 3-4 DE’s. He will cost a penny or two though.
Hulk needs beauty rest. Peace
Ken, yes Henry was a 2nd rd pick. My point was talented players make you a better team. RBs are not a dime a dozen just like any other position. Some guys are special and better than others.
Select the best talents on your board.
I have no doubt that OL and Edge will be our biggest investments in the offseason. A QB yes, but maybe not. Maybe not 1st round.
Tim — you are probably right, but we have 5 picks in the first 60 and enough money to get 6 or more legit starters in FA. That’s like a whole D or O. Gonna be interesting.
6 in the top 70. 🙂
1 (3) 5, 18 and ?
2 (2) 39, 56
3 (1) 70
This is Grier and Flores’ moment. FA will come first, but these 6 picks are huge.
I don’t give a shit what anyone says. Congratulations to RT17. Win one more and go back to Hard Rock and shove it up their ass.
👍
Congrats to Tannehill
Also congrats to Trent Dilfer, 1 win away from no longer being the worst QB to play in the super bowl 🏟
Or David Woodley
Joe Kapp played in a SB
Kerry Collins is another one worth mentioning I guess
Man, what a good morning it is knowing that the Pats are home watching the playoffs and now the Ravens are 1 and done in the playoffs. A KC win would be just icing on the cake!
Wow, the Tanne-love flowing on the board. I stand by what I said, the day some team shuts down Derick Henry and make Tannehill do more than he’s been doing is the day Tennessee probably gets knocked off. I only watched a little of the game so I don’t know how it went down, saw the first TD which is a fantastic catch by Jonnu Smith, and then saw some of the 4th QTR. He’s obviously working very well off of Henry. so the real test will be if someone can shut that down. It hasn’t happened yet. Just curious, all you guys who are lapping this up, would you want the Dolphins to give Tannehill $30M plus per year on a 4-5 year contract?
BTW – Glad the Ravens lost, I fucking hate them and John Harbaugh. Glad he got to eat some crow. lol
MikeE, I don’t disagree with you. The Tanne-love just comes from him being our QB for so long, pulling for him all those years and giving us his all every game coupled with being overall a good dude. He will always be the QB he is now and was for us. He just has a better team around him now.
Sunday morning reading:
Always thinking about DE/OLB/Edge players, Young, Espenesa, Chaisson and Gross-Matos come to mind first. Here is an interesting prospect I have missed/over looked. He does have some question marks though as you will read about in the end.
From “Thedraftnetwork”:
The 2020 NFL Draft is set to feature one of the deepest defensive line classes the league has seen in the last decade. Specifically, the amount of talented pass rushers in this year’s crop immediately stands out. It is headlined by Ohio State’s Chase Young, but even after him, there are a ton of high-upside edge defenders that could also be drafted in the top 50.
One of those players is Tennessee’s Darrell Taylor, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound senior who racked up 17 sacks over the last two seasons. Of all the pass rushers in this draft outside of Young, Taylor has the most tantalizing traits and highest ceiling.
Taylor reportedly RAN A 4.5-SECOND 40 in the spring before this season, and you can see that athleticism translated on his game tape. He has a lightning-quick first step and plays with elite flexibility and bend in his lower body. Those athletic traits translated on Taylor’s tape are found in just about every stud pass rusher in the NFL.
Taylor is crazy explosive and a speed demon off the edge — that is evident. But what a lot of people don’t realize is how powerful he is at the point of attack. Taylor uses his 4.5 speed and effortlessly converts it into power, utilizing his length and strong upper body. With Taylor’s speed, power and length off the edge, you would be hard pressed to find many pass rushers better at their peak than him.
Another key aspect of Taylor’s game that makes him one of this draft’s most intriguing pass rushers is his vast toolbox of counter moves. On his tape, you see moves stacked on top of moves consistently. Whether it’s a chop-dip-rip, euro cross-chop, swim, spin or inside counter. Taylor’s unpredictability as a rusher is scary. When you have an edge defender with Taylor’s kind of speed, explosiveness and quickness — combined with this variety of counter moves — coaches and scouts are going to absolutely fall in love.
From purely a talent standpoint, Taylor is the most gifted pass rusher in this 2020 class, other than Young. However, there are a couple of things that may hold him back from becoming a first-round selection in April.
For starters, a lot of his sack numbers the last two seasons were registered in just a few games, and there were long stretches throughout both his junior and senior campaigns where he was invisible on the field. He is simply too talented to be shut out in games, and I think NFL evaluators will see his lack of game-to-game consistency as a major question mark.
Also, as a run defender, he is reckless in his gap discipline, often rushing upfield, losing his contain and taking himself out of the play. Taylor doesn’t get washed against the run, but I do wonder if coaches and scouts will have concerns about his early-down production at the next level.
Lastly, Taylor will have to answer questions about his history off the field. He was suspended indefinitely as a sophomore in 2017 after getting in a fight with his teammate at practice, among other reasons.
If you’re a pass rusher entering the NFL draft, you better have one of two things on your resume as a prospect — noticeable physical traits like speed, power and length, or good college production. Taylor is one of the few EDGE prospects in this draft class that possesses both. His combination of explosion, bend and quickness off the edge is evident, and if he can put it together consistently at the next level, I think he can become a Pro Bowl pass rusher and double-digit sack artist at the next level, similar to a player like Robert Quinn. Invited to the 2020 Senior Bowl, he’ll have an opportunity to have a dominant week in the one-on-one period and cement his status as a top-tier pass rusher in this class.
I did watch one of his game tapes, every snap, not highlights. Where they talked about his inconsistency, I think it was more of a scheme fit at TN. He played almost every snap as a hand-in-ground 4-3 DE and struggled some getting off blocks, mostly on running plays. He did record 3 sacks with some good moves in that game but did seem to get washed out on running plays as a 4-3 DE. I think he would be better suited as a 3-4 edge/OLB with his size and speed. He does look like he could be special with the right fit and coaching.
An undrafted rookie free agent QB we might bring in for a camp arm is QB James Morgan, Florida International, 6’4″ 215. Dude has a serious fast ball and quick release. Doesn’t have eyepopping numbers though and his deep ball lacks some accuracy.
Piggy, I have to disagree. I think Tannehill is a better QB than Dilfer was.
I agree. Dilfer was terrible. Even in their SB run, he was awful. 15 TDs 12 ints for that entire year. To win it all with QB play like that is impressive.
I was just being a smart ass
I honestly forgot how bad Dilfer was. I remember him being terrible but then I thought, “how bad could he have been?” The years had mellowed my thoughts on him until I looked the stats up again. Whew, ugly.
Mike, just happy for Tannehill, that’s all. It’s a good story.
It just has no effect on the Dolphins
People don’t get like this to never Drake or Landry
Personally I’m rooting against him
Not bc of him, but just so he woolens stop talking about him
He’s not a Miami Dolphin anymore
I think people are so used to defending him for years it’s like second nature to do it now
Well the Dolphins aren’t in the playoffs. I think we all tend to root for someone come playoff time when your team isn’t in it.
I root for him. I always liked him and always will
I also still like Drake and Landry but they are not in the playoffs
I was happy for Drake when he had some big games with ARZ too. Landry chirped a bit too much on his way out and he’s been gone for two years now so I don’t root for him.
I feel exactly the same, Tim. Landry burned bridges, the other guys didn’t.
Tannehill looked really good in really limited action. This could be his year. Flacco was terrible except for one post-season. Foles has never been great…except for that one magical post-season. Eli had two really good years in a 16 year career. You just need a few things to go right and Tennessee is doing everything right.
I’d love to see Tannehill get a ring but I’m already sick of the local media and I don’t subscribe to any of them. Journalist may be the worst profession in the world. I trust politicians as much. Now we just have to build our offense in a similar fashion. Start with Swift in the backfield and some big uglies.
This is in response to New Age talking about journalists, no telling where it’s going to show up. I tried 5 times to hit reply and get it to responded properly.
That’s why I call journalists U75, for under 75 IQ. These guys certainly have an agenda, and like to get hits, but they really are the stupidest people on the planet.
I stand by my Tannelove. I liked him when he was here and I am rooting for him now. He may not be elite but he is good enough. To all those saying the Titans success is all Henry it was Tannehill’s 2 early TD passes that allowed the Titans to play with the lead and lean on Henry
Tennessee had the same Henry, the same oline, the same defense for the first 6 games of the season and they stunk. We all know Tannehill isn’t a guy that can carry his team like Wilson or Rodgers, nobody is saying that, but he is a necessary factor in the Titans success, not just an add-on.
Sure, he is in the prefect situation to maximize his skill set and minimize his weaknesses. And he has been doing his part with timely running and deep ball accuracy all year. I haven’t seen any Tanny lover on here talk about how Tannehill has taken the Titans on his back and won all these games by himself, but people still feel the need to disparage what he has done. Most people just can’t admit when they are wrong.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
That’s what I’ve been saying, when they play him to his strengths, and the running game is working he’s good enough. When did he have the most success in Miami? When Ajayi was running wild, the OL had Albert’s, Pouncey and James, and RT was able to use play action.
RT got big throws when using play action, including the bomb to make it 14-0.
Look at the game against Houston without Henry for the division, RT was a deer in headlights in the pocket and didn’t get it done.
Steve, not sure what you mean. Henry played in that game and Tanny actually had a slightly better statistical line than Watson did in that game. And the Titans lost by 3 in a tough divisional game against a good opponent.
And d to answer your question Mike.. No I don’t want us to sign RT , certainly not for upwards of 30M per year.. would undermine all the work that was done this year and make us look really dumb..
# buildforthefuture
I have 2 things to root for this playoffs. GB losing and RT17.
And no, I don’t want RT17 back. That ship has sailed. I will always like the guy and enjoy all the success he gets. I think he has earned it, whatever you think his skill level is.
Ditto
The RT part
I guess the reporters saying stupid shit like Dolphins fans curl up in the fetal position as RT leads the Titans in the playoffs. That just makes me mad. We did the right thing letting him go. He’s no superstar, he’s just on a really good team right now that makes his job significantly easier than he had it here. That is an indisputable fact. I can’t root for ex players usually, once they’re gone, they’re dead to me. That’s more problem than anything. I know RT never asked to be out of here, and I appreciated him and defended him whilst he was here, but now he’s on the Titans. Glad they beat the Ravens cause I hate them, but the notion that we let a superstar QB go and TEN got him for nothing etc etc. just irks me.
They also said we were tanking all year. Screw them. I’m happy we moved on from Tanny. It was time to part ways. I really am just enjoying that the Titans just knocked the two biggest douchebag teams on my list out of the playoffs in back to back weeks, lol.
I hear ya, and I’m also happy they beat the Pats and Ravens, they are #’s 1 and 2 on my shit list. I just hate the narrative that the Dolphins are so stupid, they had Tannehill and let him go. Those same reporters shit on him for 8 years while he was here and one of them still has a shrine of Garrard’s jockstrap.
I would have no problem if we resigned Tannehill. It’s not going to happen. The Titans are not going to let him go. It would not shock me if he wins a SB or 2 with that team
Wow, no problem? That’s shocking to me. He’s still Ryan Tannehill and with a lesser cast he would have here you’d just be coming here making the same excuses we all made for years, he has no blocking, no run game, no defense etc. If we got him for $1.8M per maybe, but at $25-30M it would be a clusterfuck of a mistake.
I don’t think so. It was always my contention that he wasn’t the problem. It was our inability to put a sufficiently talented team around him
It’s funny I remember arguing that Tannehill will be the QB having the most success out of his draft class over Luck and RGIII and strangely enough I may be right
Whatever RT does in these playoffs will only further hurt the future of the Titans. With each win his price goes up, which will reduce the help the Titans can get.
$30M for RT next year and the past tells us, that Henry likely won’t be close to what he’s been thus year, as someone said above, this is Joe Flacco all over again.
I don’t want Tanny back, our exes should stay in Texas or Tennessee, and my support of him would stop in the $18-$20 mil range, lol. No way I’m paying top dollar for him.
#*!Facebook!
Come on Steve.
No Pack No!!
I really hate Seattle for some reason I can’t put my finger on.
It must be their coach.
Pete Carroll. There I put your finger on it
I don’t think there’s any debate RT is better than Dilfer, his SB year the Ravens had 5 straight games with no TDs and won them all I believe.
Not even close imo. Pig just likes to play in the mud
I owe Steve a beer 🍺
Cav the Tenn Houston game I was referring to, might have been the first game.
The first game is the one I was referring to. The 2nd game Tenn stomped them because Houston rested their starters. Not a big deal, your other points are still valid.
Ken – OK, so you’re saying you’d pay a QB “who’s not the problem” $25-30M per season? There are 30-40 QB’s out there right now who also aren’t the problem that could succeed with the league leading rushing attack, good defense and good coaching. We can draft a “who’s not the problem” this year in the 2nd or 3rd RD.
The Titans are going to do it and probably be very happy they did. I am not really thinking about it too much because it is not going to happen. I just have a different opinion of him than a lot of people here do
The Titans probably should do it, because he accomplished things there. He’s proven he can win there. My guess is that not many other teams will feel that he’d be the answer for them, but that’s just my opinion.
I am guessing there are several teams that would go big for him including San Diego, Tampa and maybe even New England but I think Tennessee will franchise him before they let him go. We will see what happens in the off season if I am right or wrong
I want to see Seattle win because I don’t want the Niners to have the easiest path to the SB in NFL history. Minny was way overmatched, and so is GB. Seattle will likely give us a good game next week at least.
I mean GB is overmatched against the Niners, not necessarily in today’s game.
Reporters seem to forget what they said in the past. They always change their tune to make themselves look smart when in reality they expose themselves as hypocrites.
I don’t see the Dolphins signing Tannehill. We already moved on from him and we’re still in rebuild mode. The Titans should re-sign him, why wouldn’t they? He’s a good fit there.
Titans are not going to let him go
I don’t think Tannehill is going to get $30-40M per year either. I could see him signing a solid deal for 3-4 years at $20+ per to continue as a starter.
I see that as more likely as well. 15-20 per 3-4 years.
I am just rooting for RT and KC to beat Texans.
Think one thing we all can agree on is there’s absolutely no chance RT17 is signed again by the Fins. Lol
But man….it would be epic hearing and reading about it. LMAO
LOL
😁
LOL
Rather be right than good….
Funniest part of the tragedy is that you are NEITHER
I’ve had a somewhat surreal Twitter experience recently. Richmond Webb who has been my idol OL from the era phins I have been alive to see, responded personal when I followed him thanking me for following him. A few tweets back and forth and I’m sitting here trying to figure out if this is a dream or am I actually having contact with a man who I use to watch very closely to help me improve my technique as a LT. I know Mikey has had a similar and even more real life experience with Zach T, but I feel like a giddy kid considering how influential he was for me as a younger footballer. Really down to earth guys like he and Zach who played as damn well as they did deserve to be in the hall.
Very Cool !!!
That’s definitely cool. Enjoy it man!
I am right in line with ER, I am cheering for RT to keep winning and the Packers to lose.
Not in argument to your post, but I differ in my thoughts on pulling for one team or another and it has nothing to do with a player, former phin or not, liking them as a person or not. Maybe that’s the difference here, and like Mikey said, I pretty much am tired of the rhetoric every time a former player does something good like look how inept we are as an organization. Again, I’m glad for him, and all the rest of the Titans for that matter. They are the AFC team I’d rather see in the SB, but it doesn’t have anything to do with Tanny, or Wake, or any other player.
Well, gor me, I am cheering for the Titans because you f Tammy. I’m liked him when he was here, and I wish nothing but the best for him in these playoffs. It would be different if it impacted my cheering for the Dolphins, but it doesn’t.
Wow the chiefs are choking too
Chiefs imploding
WTF Chiefs!
I don’t want to see another Texans/Titans game. LOL
Fuck! Draft pick keeps slipping . . .
Where it would be right now is where is same basic tier player as if it was pick 32. No need to sweat it
This is why I was not crazy about that trade because I knew the Texans were going to have a good pick. I know it was still good value but not as good as people thought it would be
Too bad Wake isn’t healthy, I would be cheering for him also
Nobody is bashing the Fins for getting rid of RT17.
The way the players change teams now, after the Fins, I only have a very very small amount of interest in the rest of the teams. So I cheer for a player I like. And hope for loses for a group of other teams. After that I just enjoy watching football
^^^
My thoughts exactly
Pretty much the only time I pull for a player that not a phin is if I have them on my FF team. I have no vested interest in players that aren’t on our team. That said Titans are probably the closest thing to a second favorite AFC team I have, it’s close between they and Houston. We have former players on either team, but I’ve liked those two teams well before that was the case.
Shad just might be the new Volin for me

The Andy Reid effect on full display.
Damien Williams. I always liked him going back to his days at OK
Now Texans imploding
Oh yeah, fun game now!
Mother Fers just attributed the hook and ladder play to Fouts and said Chargers were down 24-0. I am about to go all Hulk
For a long time I thought it was the hook and ladder play but it’s hook and lateral
Hulk smash ladder 🤢
Great first half.
I forgot the game started late today
And I just returned from the gym and turned on the tv to see them setting up the fg attempt
I thought it was the end of regulation not the end of the half
And I was yelling at the tv “ does no one do math anymore?,”
KC up 28-24 at half.
Texans lose and we pick either #27 or #28.
Texans win and it is # 29-32.
There’s been some crazy but good playoff football this year. I’ve been enjoying it.
Most of the games have gone down to the wire, especially last weekend. Blowouts are boring unless your team is the one with the runaway.
Game is getting away from Texans
I guess that’s why there’s 4 quarters in football. 🙂
I thought it was because the NFL is all about the almighty dollar! 😛 (toothless!)
No pass rush by the Texans
And since it is the same position that means we let it happen.
I think Flores probably has the ultimate say on defensive play calling and schemes
Don’t want to jinx , but assuming the Chiefs get it.
Packers win — #27 for us.
Seahawks win — #28.
What’s 27 or 28? Our 3rd 1st RD pick? I think if the Texans lose it’s #25
I like your math better
I did screw that up. #26 it is if the Texans lose. Was just looking at SOS and forgot win loss is first. Vikes and Texans are both 10-6, but Minny wins the SOS tie break there. So they get #25.
This was one of the wildest playoff games I’ve ever seen.
Turning point in the game, failed fake punt by the Texans when they should have never done that. They opened the door for the Chiefs and got steam rolled.
Yep, momentum was already starting to turn and that play just amplified everything.
Then the botched KO return and the Texans gave the Chiefs right back what they did in the 1st quarter. Crazy game.
Not too worried about whether we pick #25-28. 5, 18 and whatever is pretty rare.
Stanger – I’m not positive, but I believe the SOS situation is over once the regular season is done. I’m almost sure our pick is #25. The only reason our pick could get worse was if the Texans won the game and continued on.
Vikes and Houston both have the same record — what’s the tie breaker?
Not sure pal, but if it was pick #25 before the game, and both teams lost, why would it change?
You got me to look up:
———–
For the playoff teams that got eliminated in the same round, their order is determined by regular season record.
Overall ties are then broken by strength of schedule, which is a calculation of the combined record of all of a team\’s opponents in that year, with divisional opponents counting twice.
This is what GBN is saying.
https://gbnreport.com/2020-first-round-selection-order/
Salguero might as well have said it’s better to leave Miami than to play there.
He rides the line on whether he stays on my timeline or gets put in the dumpster with Omar?
It’s very rare to have this kind of draft. Make the most of it. 🙂
Ken, no doubt Flores brought the Belichick defensive scheme with him to Miami. I like Patrick Graham the person but the scheme is not his. I don’t think anything changes scheme-wise. I think Flores wanted a more experienced OC in Gailey – QB development. It seems Josh Boyer earned Flores’ trust to be the next DC.
We’ll see. Coaching is very important but talent is still key. Our offseason is huge.
Agree
I like the in house promotion of Boyer.
He had guys they picked up at Publix out there last year. And to me it looked like the first time in forever they weren’t running around confused like keystone cops.
ER — glad didn’t catch that last FF game in live time (was on a trip). Would have thought was sitting all pretty and then started to sweat when Aaron Jones went crazy.
Lol.
It was a hail mary.
Congrats! 👍
Hey guys, Happy New Year!
D, I’ve been friends with Richmond Webb for several years on Facebook and every year he gives me a personal Happy Birthday wish, it’s awesome. His Birthday was yesterday,
I’m glad Tannehill is doing well – IN TENNESSEE.
No regrets, #staythecourse
The Son rises
This game unfortunately is over
If GB and KC make it to the SB are they going to change the name of the game to the State Farm Bowl🤔
Yes and I’m going to want to vomit. I’m tired of those commercials.
I’m going to vomit if the Packers are in the SB

I hate Pete Carroll and I fear Seattle will win this game
It will go unnoticed bc it was a huge gain
But Adams should not have run out of bounds
I think his momentum took him there
Just fall down after the catch
Right before the 2 min warning – that costs like a minute of time
Exactly
Aaron Rogers looks like an extra who was cut from the movie the revenant
Lmao!
LOL
Without any trades – we have 5, 18, 26, 39, 56 and 70.
Nobody specific but I’d say at the end of the day we come away with 2 OL, QB, RB, Edge and DB.
Part of who we select is going to be affected by what’s left on the board
I think you can add DL to that list and even a 3rd OL to your list
I’m not sure if we don’t get that edge player by 39 that we can expect one at 56 or 70 bc the depth there thins out very quickly
That 39 pick is very important imo
Bc it’s right outside the first and can be a place we pick up edge or an OT or a center like Biadasz or one of those top 3 RBs
I would love it if we can manage to hold off on RB and DB and build up front through picks 39
Then get to 56 and still end up with one of those top 3 RBs or a DB that can push to start in 2020
Josh Boyer actually has more experience than Patrick Graham. You’re not Belichick’s DB and CB coach for 10 years if you don’t get it.
I feel I owe Tanny a large amount of gratitude for saving this years super bowl party for another Pats drivel fest,
Thank you again Ryan !
Send a nice thank you card to #22!!! 🙂
Still amazes me how important defense is when it comes to success in the playoffs and SB. Both Pat’s and Raven’s O was shut down.
To me, while there are so many holes, getting the defense to elite status as soon as possible will allow success sooner. And, I wouldn’t mind if the OL was part of that urgency, too.
^Both…..were….
Defense & Power running game is the key to success, so i hope we use FAcy & the draft accordingly.
Jimmy Johnson and Troy Aikman got pretty emotional about his..(Johnson’s) Hall of Fame announcement.
About time for Jimmy. Top notch.
go titans
Piggy, RE: your daft you posted on twitter last night. I am not a fan of Tua at #5 but if the rest of the draft ended up the way you had it. I could roll with it. Heck yeah!
