The Tua era begins!

Get used to seeing this, this image is the future of our team. I thank Ryan Fitzpatrick for his dedication and his leadership and the inspiration he provided for our team, the Miami Dolphins. His enjoyment and enthusiasm was infectious. I’m not going to disparage Ryan Fitzpatrick in order to make it clear why Tua should be starting. If we can look at things and detach ourselves from Ryan Fitzpatrick the person, you can realize that it’s been the defense and its improvement that has changed the fortune of the team, not the play of the QB. Fitz is pretty up and down and while he’s having a good season, don’t be lulled into thinking it was great. Now the team is finally scoring over 25 PPG but in this NFL, decent teams do that. The main reason we’re now 3-3 is because our defense is allowing only 18.8 PPG, good for 4th in the NFL.

Before the 2020 NFL draft, and before the injury to Tua Tagovailoa, Tua was considered the most pro ready NFL prospect and possibly the most talented. Yes, Joe Burrow had one epic season but Tua had been doing it for longer, getting better each season while starting a high floor to begin with. I think the plan was to use the BYE week to give Tua the maximum amount of time to get reps in practice. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the NFL was forced to reschedule a few games which led to a change in our BYE week from Week 11 to Week 7. Without any preseason games for Tua to get ready and get some action, this is the next best opportunity and the fact that it presented itself 4 weeks earlier is unfortunate for Ryan Fitzpatrick but hopefully ends up being better for our team.

We got a glimpse this past Sunday of Tua, 2 pass attempts, 2 completions for a total of 9 yards and he converted a 3rd down, the ONLY 3rd down conversion of the day for the Miami Dolphins. We can do better folks, we really can. That’s not a knock on Fitzpatrick but if we can’t convert any 3rd downs against the Jets, how can we do it against better teams? I feel like Mike Gesicki has once again become totally underutilized. He IS that TE we’ve been waiting for, we need to use him. The O-line has been getting the job done, even with the necessitated switch of Jesse Davis to LT and Robert Hunt to RT. I know many are worried now as to whether Hunt can protect Tua’s blind side but the coaches are aware and will work around it. Tua can move and he will get rid of the ball quickly. Myles Gaskin has carried the load and the load continues to progressively increase. This is good. We haven’t had that kind of consistency with a RB since Jay Ajayi was here. Thankfully Adam Gase isn’t here anymore so Gaskin is safe.

Look to the future, both immediate and distant and be happy #1 is now our QB. Be excited! Let yourself feel the energy of having an elite talent at QB. This is what you have waited for so don’t be shy, nervous or otherwise, embrace it! This is a great time for our team, you can see that things are coming together, and we’re in year 1 of the rebuild after the tear down. The defense we were complaining about earlier in the season is playing as well or better than we all hoped they would at this juncture. Be excited! This is what we live for as Dolphins fans so don’t squander it with “What ifs” and “How come now”, just be freaking elated that we’re just a game out from being atop our division and our best football is yet to come! Oh, and be excited that the Bi Week Babe is coming to a blog near you very soon, as early as this weekend!

Rocko – There are videos of Joe Biden saying that he doesn’t want black kids bused into his kids schools because it will make them a racial jungle. There’s video of him lying about the school he went to and that he wasn’t in the top 1/3, he was in the bottom 1/3, and calling him out on this was Sam Donaldson and his ABC cohorts. There’s video of him lying about being arrested with Nelson Mandela when he was never actually with Mandela. Does anyone give a fuck? DO YOU??? Of course you don’t so stick your holier than thou shit back in yer ass! Joe is just as much as a lying POS as Trump is and I can admit that Trump lies, but all my Democrat friends think Biden’s clean as whistle. He’s a career politician, which translates into a career liar, he never stops lying. He’s Trump with a slightly better grasp of what he has to do to make his perception better but I think in some ways he’s dumber and doesn’t even realize when he’s not making his perception better.

It is something we agree on. I am just tired of the shame I feel every day because of that buffoon. I am ashamed of him being president.

I was brought up like I would think the majority on here were to try and be a good person.
Don’t lie. Don’t cheat. Don’t be unfaithful. Do be a bully or abide bullies. Be respectful of others. Be modest. Be polite. Work hard. Be generous. Help the less fortunate. Don’t judge others by their appearance; Don’t be a biggot. Don’t discriminate against others who are different than me.

Everyone one of these beliefs is thrown in the trash daily by the putrid piece of human excrement a certain mislead segment of our population wants to celebrate

It is shameful and I am ashamed of you.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You can save some of your shame when you proudly vote for Biden/Cameltoe. You’ll need it!

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I agree with everything you said right up until the line of “I am ashamed of you” because I am not sure who that is in reference to. As I read it it seems to be in reference to Mike E but I don’t think that is what you meant

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I read that as ‘in general’, as in speaking to the camera, not directly at Mike. I could be wrong.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Yeah, this was not a personal attach against Mike E. I apologize if it comes across that way. I am ashamed that Trump has been normalized and I DO let it color my opinions of people around me.
You cannot shovel shit all day and not get shit on you. One shouldn’t be allowed to excuse despicable behavior and pretend it doesn’t say something about oneself. Just my opinion.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think I mostly read it that way because I also have a tendency to write grandiose at times and often speak to ‘the people’ lol

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Just to further clarify I would never find shame on someone who holds a different political belief than me. That is everyone’s right to hold their own political beliefs. I disagree with Mike E about his politics but I respect him immensely as a person.

It’s Pollyanna to think that other countries will follow our lead.

We should continue to work towards clean energy, but not by throwing out what we have before we have a solution.

    Phelon, absolutely agree.

Here is the real question for you. Would you rather your tax dollars go to research and develop new technologies and increase the efficiency of existing technologies (our power grid is antiquated, wasteful and vulnerable to attack) or would you rather it go to propping up the profits of the oil companies stock holders? We subsidize one of the most profitable industries in the world as party policy right now and have for decades.

    which is better?

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

We have done it under the guise of national security, but in reality the policy of continued dependence on oil is against our national security. it would be much better for the US if we were energy diversified. We will never be off of oil. As Wyoming pointed out above oil is used in everything and is needed. We just shouldn’t be as energy dependent upon it and other fossil fuels

  9. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

    Interesting reads on clean energy.

Historically, our success and rise as the leading economic power in the world has always been attached to the fact that we were always the leader of the primary energy supply.

Prior to steam and the need for a more efficient burn with coal, the primary fuel source was wood.
We have the largest untapped supply of forests (at that time).

When steam required the burn provided by coal, we also had the leading supply of coal in the world.

Then oil … which we were the leading producer until late 1960’s-early 1970’s. Texas was “Saudi Arabia” lol.

Since the 1970’s, despite increased demand, we have not been the leading producer of the world’s energy supply for the first time.

I’ve always felt that if oil companies used their vast profits to expand INTO the clean energy market, this would probably have happened by now. They could build and own the infrastructure, they already have the brand recognition, and they would solidify themselves in the energy space in a way that they would benefit from a transition to clean energy (at any pace).

Figuring out how to make sure the U.S, is the leader of this energy would be a boon to our economy much as wood, coal, and oil were. The problem is, oil companies chose a defensive position… they chose the strategy of the cigarette companies. It can still be done, but the large oil companies need to willingly get involved, profitably. Otherwise we’ll be arguing about this until the Dolphins need to move to a city with higher ground. lol

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

What an awesome post. I’m not worried about being the world’s leader in anything energy though….. just taking care of our own needs in a clean way. But guess as we do that we could become the world’s leader in clean energy tech. That wouldn’t be so bad.

  21. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

I’ve tried to stay out of this discussion going on but now I’m not. Call it lying, embellishing, stretching the truth. I think they’ve both done it. What has always stuck with me about Biden, he lied about the accident that killed his wife and daughter. He has claimed through the years they were killed by a drunk driver. Definitely gets your sympathy going doesn’t it? But it’s not true, accounts are the driver hadn’t been drinking, wasn’t charged with anything and in fact had tried to stop to avoid hitting them when they pulled into his path. Yet Biden has told this story during campaign events over the years to get votes. Not sure how much lower you can go.

I have no idea who will win this thing, truth is no matter what we are all going to lose. Trump is an asshole, no doubt. But why couldn’t the Democrats come up with anyone better to run against him? Good grief! The bar is pretty low here. Yet here we are, once again trying to decide the lesser of the two evils.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think the democrats chose biden bc he’s pretty moderate, sometimes I think he’s a republican

And the idea was to flip moderates against republicans who had issues with Trump against trump

Democrats were excited about a lot of other candidates, Biden, no so much

      I don’t love him
But I’ll take him any day of the week over trump

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Your last paragraph has been my ongoing refrain since the primaries. We need an actual viable candidate. The dems had 4 f^cking years and this is what they came up with? We need something other than a douche and a turd. South Park has been on this since the late 90’s lol.

If I knew Biden was an actual traitor, I’d agree. But the things he did is no different than Trump using hundreds of millions as leverage to gain dirt on his political opponent IMO. They are both garbage.

      • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

that is alleged, they never proved Trump did that, there is real proof Biden is selling us out to the chinese, see bobbalinsky and the hunter biden hard drive.

1.5 billion to biden from china

Yes, no smoking gun, just overwhelming amounts of circumstantial evidence. It doesn’t matter, even if there was a smoking gun, there would then be an attempt to justify it somehow. Anyway, not even the point. There is nothing that can come out that will impact the way you feel about Trump, nor mine.

The whole game is diminish what your guy did while ramping up the rhetoric on the opponent. Nothing new here.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

And yeah, I believe Biden is in China’s pocket. You don’t have to convince me.

    • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

then wouldn’t that define biden as a traitor?

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think on that level, this stuff is happening all the time. I think Trump is in Russia’s pocket, and I think all our high level politicians are leveraged in some way. It’s inevitable. One of the differences between us, is I don’t think Trump is some innocent ‘non-politician’ who is just fighting for what is right. He is a dirty, self-serving guy, just like the others. He just sounds different.

      • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I don’t see that? he doesn’t even get paid to be pres, all these allegations without a shred of proof, give me something on trump that’s tangible, that has to do with running our country, then i would listen.

all i hear is unsubstantiated accusations, can you imagine being on the receiving end of what Trump has went thru the last 4 years?

The reason the hard left is anti trump is his policies hurt their wallet. so they attack him at every turn. they take him out of context,

        their agenda is very clear.

lie, cheat and steal, do whatever you have to do to get your way!

statements like this is exactly what i was referring to, you have drawn a conclusion due to a phone call that you have proved Trump was guilty.

he withheld the funds because that’s standard practice. he also released them before all that stuff became an issue.

you have no proof of wrong doing yet you still claim it to be true, a tactic used by the left every day. put yourself on the other end, i’m sure if someone accused you of doing wrong and you didn’t you would be furious.

    ORob,
Multiple individuals testified that withholding the funds was absolutely NOT standard practice and was actually the opposite. AND, several people also testified that there was absolutely no explanation given as to why the funds were actually being withheld. Obama had withheld funds before for very specific reasons and had informed everyone of why he was doing so which is standard practice. Trump did not go through the standard process for withholding the funds. He did not inform the appropriate people of what he was doing and why. He subverted it….just as he always tries to do.

The Ukrainian President said he felt pressure to say specific things in a speech that would disparage or negatively impact Biden’s political chances to appease Trump’s wishes. If nobody connected with Trump was pressuring him to do so on Trump’s behalf why would he feel that pressure? Is it sad when a foreign leader has more concern for doing what’s right for our Country than our own President? I’m done. I should’ve known better. Lol

  67. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Kong,
True story. When I was married my wife decided our bedroom set was old and worn out…and we needed a new set. I thought our old set was just fine, but I’m a man and as such possess very little intelligence. We went 2 hours away to look at stuff. I didn’t understand that, but I understood my role. After 2 trips to the big city to look at said furniture, we purchased a new set of bedroom furniture. The mattress alone was $1600. I didn’t particularly like the idea and quietly submitted my thoughts on the matter. It’s still unclear to me whether or not my words were even heard or recognized. Needless to say, said furniture was purchased.
    ***
After about 3 months the mattress was sloping inward noticeably. I suggested we address it with the company. My wife felt otherwise. So, 6 moths later as I have to tether myself to the wall to keep from rolling down the escarpment and most likely being happy Obama care is there to put the pieces back together…..after suggesting to my wife, again, that there seemed to be a problem with the bed, she agreed that something may be off with the mattress. Always happy to be of service, I was overjoyed to be told that the job of contacting the company having them come and look at the mattress and everything that went along with that process would be my complete pleasure to undertake.
    ****
You might think that was the bright spot of this bucolic diatribe…but oh no dear reader! After arranging, attending and arguing on 2 separate meetings with company reps who assured me the mattress was within: “acceptable wear” condition after less than 1 year. We were able to maintain possession of said acceptable mattress.
    ***
And yet…there’s more! I shit you not! 2 years later as the divorce process was in full swing, and we were “discussing” the divying up of property, I was told that the old set of furniture, which we’d kept and put in a spare bedroom, would be staying in the house. The new…acceptable…mattress could leave with me along with a couple of the 5 dressers that we’d bought with it. When I pointed out that I would be living in an apartment while she remained in the 4 bedroom house and the older, smaller bedroom set would work better for me, I was not shocked to hear that simply wouldn’t be possible as the mattress was….acceptable.
    ***
So hey…..it’s about the little wins! 🙂

  68. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

  69. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Wyoming, you were wondering about no bail system. It won’t be as affective as the cash bail system. It will put an overburden on law enforcement officials who they want to defund already. Here on the panhandle they have experimented with a no bail system (Pretrial Release) for certain misdemeanors, mainly M/J possession and Driving on Suspended License. The failure to appear rate for all defendants who are released on their own recognizance(ROR) or on Pretrial Release(PTR) is over 18%. For those on bond with a bondsman the rate is less than 3% (ours has never been above 1% for our company). It has already put great stress on the Warrants Division for our local Sheriff department and significantly increased their operating expense. Biden/Harris say they want to do it, but don’t have a real plan like a bunch of other crap they talk about but don’t seem to have a plan.

Like you talked about earlier. You have to be able to adjust your business. We are going all in on being a private provider for GPS, House Arrest, Alcohol, and Portable Breath Monitors as well as Drug Screening Patches. The County Pretrial Release Office already can’t handle their current workload and is outsourcing to us all ready.

    • Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

So defund actually means to subcontract it out???????

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

In a way, but they make the defendant pay for it. Also, you don’t have a third party that is responsible for making sure they show up in court. They predict failure to appear rates would be close to 25% which will increase workload and budget requirements for local Sheriff departments.

In 2016 we were 7-4 and the Ravens spanked us 38-16. In 2017 we were 4-2 and the Ravens spanked us 40-0. They didn’t just beat us that year they humiliated us. I friggin hate ’em M, that’s all there is to it!

I WAS TOTALLY EXHAUSTED after watching what I believe was the GREATEST WORLD SERIES GAME OF ALL TIME!!! And the ending was too corny EVEN FOR HOLLYWOOD TO PRODUCE!!
    ————————
HOW IRONIC that Hollywood’s Darlings, the Los Angeles Dodgers, WERE THE VICTIMS OF THIS UTTERLY CRAZY, MIND-BOGGLING FINISH, TO THIS MOST MEMORABLE GAME OF ALL TIME!! No one on the planet had heard of this guy Phillips who got the game winning hit. Even most Rays fans had not heard of this guy (who had not had a hit in OVER A MONTH!!) And how about AROZARENA, who was an obscure player in MEXICO not too long ago??? AROZARENA has become, in so many ways, THE NEXT ROY HOBBS!!!!! EXCEPT HE’S THE REAL DEAL, NOT THE CREATION OF A HOLLYWOOD FILM MOGUL!!
    ———————
This Rays franchise is almost universally panned, even in their own home city where “crowds” of 4,000-6,000 are the norm. Almost NOBODY CARES FOR THEM!! Why go see the Rays when you can see A REAL MAJOR LEAGUE FRANCHISE THAT SELLS OUT EVERY GAME (THE TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING)??? And how can the RAYS DO THIS with a total payroll that’s lower than ONE PLAYER makes yearly for the Yankees (Stanton)?????
    ——————–
I have no idea who is going to win this World Series. But if the Pirates team of 1961 can beat the Mighty New York Yankees of 1961 (Maris, 61 Homers, Mantle 54 homers, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, etc., etc.) than surely this RAYS TEAM HAS A CHANCE!!
    ——————-
AS OF RIGHT NOW, last night’s game ranks as THE GREATEST WORLD SERIES GAME I’VE EVER WATCHED IN MY 67 YEARS OF WATCHING THE WORLD SERIES!!! I’d put it right up there with “THE MIRACLE ON ICE” AND THE ONE, THE ONLY, PERFECT SEASON!! – – I’m SO GLAD I LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO SEE IT!!

I ONCE HEARD Jerry Kramer say during an interview that his coach, Vince Lombardi, once got even with a defensive coordinator from an opposing team who was telling his players to deliberately injure a couple of Packers’ players during a pre-season game. Kramer says Lombardi called an end sweep toward the opposing team’s sideline. He said, I’ve got a $100 bill for the guy from our team who “accidentally” runs over that coach at the end of the sweep. Sure enough, a Packers’ lineman knocked that coach halfway to kingdom come on the next play. The interviewer asked Kramer, “Was that lineman who hit that coach YOU???”
