It was an ugly game, but it was one game. We competed with the Patriots and stole a game from them in their house. We got thrashed yesterday, but if Parker catches the pass in the endzone, which he usually does, there’s 7. Grant doesn’t fumble at the 5 yard line, maybe there’s either 3 or 7 there. We didn’t play well on offense and the O-line looked like shit. It’s up to the coaches to figure out a way to get these guys going, and that usually starts with running the ball. Get these guys playing physical in the run game and the rest will follow. I think we can do that.

I didn’t watch the game because I knew the outcome wouldn’t be good and I’m glad I didn’t. Time was much better spent doing other things. It’s still early in the season, but for 2 games we haven’t looked good. However, we’ve seen this team come back from worse starts in the last 2 years.
Seeing the score made me remember when the Bills opened against the Pats in 2003 and killed them 31-0. The Pats started 2-2 that season, but went on to win the Super Bowl with a 14-2 record. I’m not expecting a rebound of that magnitude, but a rebound to get into the playoffs would be nice. This regime has shown it can make necessary corrections over the season and improve. It’s time to make it count this this year.

I don’t think we’re overreacting. It was the first home game and third straight stinker. All the problems from last year manifested and our biggest hope is our coaches can get their heads out of their asses before it’s too late. The team looked terrible and uncompetitive. I think the complaints have been mild for the garbage I saw put out.

at NE, vs Buff is the same schedule as last year when we were 0-2 vs 1-1 now. Yes, it was ugly yesterday but Buffalo is also a much better ‘team’ then when we played them game 2 last year. We have not kept pace.
Sometimes games snowball out of control. We dropped the ball (literally) in every scenario possible, killing drives, giving Buff great field position, on and on.
We started 1-4 last year, then 9-2 the remainder. The year before that 0-7, then 8-5 remainder.
Flores finds a way to get better as the season progresses.
Raiders aren’t really running the ball. It’s been mostly through the air. At least THAT plays into our Defense’s strength.

For those going to Fest. They completely changed up the parking with all the tennis courts and such being built. Used to be cash parking across the street, but that is no more. Yellow parking passes only.
If you don’t have a pass have to go to some very remote parking. Had to walk close to a mile to get to the stadium. But should mention it is free now.
If you are driving to the Fest game best move would be get an orange pass (available stubhub etc). That will let you park right next too or at at least close to the tailgate. Or could get a yellow pass which will let you park across from the stadium grounds and be cheaper.

I gave up football after Sunday’s game
I had some sort of mental breakdown and now I don’t even remember what the sport is

The NFL season has been crazy so I’m going to be crazy too. Everything points to us getting demolished by the Raiders. So far…they a a LOT better than us. Better coached, better play, better players. I still think that we find a way to win just like we did against the Rams last year.

I think sometimes we as fans get a little too excited about how good we think our team is. Then, if the team doesn’t meet our expectations…..as fans are allowed to do….we rip them apart! Lol

Last year was 10 wins. Nice…but nothing all that great…and against an easy schedule. It’s only a 62.5 winning %. I thought the team showed improvement last year and showed a high compete level, and I like how Flores runs his team. I don’t agree with everything he’s done or calls he’s made, but overall I think he’ll be a good coach in a couple years. I think the last thing HCs learn how to manage is the games themselves. He’s still learning too.

I thought we’d be a fringe playoff team again this year. The schedule is tougher, and we are still a pretty young, developing squad. Frankly..with this young OL…I thought another 10 win season would be an accomplishment. I’m still just not at the point where I’m worrying a lot about wins. I want to see continued growth and development. Wins will come with those things. It’s kind of a bummer that we really haven’t seen much growth in the team this year yet…but it’s still very early. This is where you find out who your leaders are and what players are competitors. This season will help shape this roster. It’s 2 games against 2 pretty tough division opponents. Some good. Some bad. 1-1 isn’t what you hope for, but that’s divisional football. Work harder and get better.
A fringe playoff team is still what we are. Nothing really changed on Sunday other than we lost to Bills by more than expected. But then we got crushed by them last game last season. What’s changed? Went 10-6 last year.
So with Tua essentially being day-to-day (man, hurt ribs are difficult to work around, and I’d expect him to be out a couple of weeks), we have NO running game to lean upon.
Part of that is our lack of a functional O-Line, and part of that is we don’t have a RB who can put the team on his back.
So basically, Brissett is the one who needs to shoulder the entire load, behind a weak-ass pass-protecting O-Line. Great.
Doesn’t matter if you have an elite RB when you can’t block like we did. Henry in week one did nothing because of the same problem. Then in week two he goes off because they did a better job up front. It all starts up front.
As for Tua, Flores said it’s about pain tolerance and if his mechanics are good enough and not laboring. I won’t be surprised if he starts this week. He has no structural damage.

I think what hurts most of all is that we were told (via the media) that our 2021 roster was built to stop Josh Allen and the rising Bills. If the media was correct about that, we measured up very poorly to the new kids on the AFC East block, at home during the 1:00 PM start in September.
If the media was saying that then I never believed it. Walked into the stadium expecting a loss by more than the spread. Unfortunately I was right. They just have our number. And flip side is don’t think other teams do.

Correct, nothing really changed for me after the loss. But, I did think we would see more improvement from the offense and the OL specifically. The OL looking fairly poor is a little surprising. We’ve seen regression there so far. But, like I said, it’s still way too early to get worried about anything.

Not really. It’s pretty set with Eichenberg as the 6th man if someone can’t go at tackle. What is problematic is the starting 5 played poorly yesterday.
OL is the big worry, but then it was coming in. Might have been different if they had a good camp.
YES, our O-Line IS the BIG WORRY. We should have been able to identify the best 5 back in camp, though. That’s how chemistry is built.

I never understand that whole: “build to stop Josh Allen” stuff. I seriously hope this FO would never make significant personnel decisions based on any one opponent. That just makes no sense to me. You build the defense you want to build based on how you want to play. If you’re good, you’ll be able to matchup with anybody. You beat him with good, sound defense. Flores’ defense is built to stop anybody.

We actually did a good job against Allen. The problem was the offense couldn’t compete in the trenches.
Hard to say we did a good job against any part of their offense after that game. Allen just sorta moved the chains….. and there is a value to that.
We stopped them a few times as well but couldn’t do anything with it. That eventually wears on a team. The Bills were not worried about our offense all day. They attacked our front all day with success. We had very little time to go vertical.
It’s not just about Allen, it’s about Mahomes and Jackson etc. Teams do build their defenses to stop specific players on teams they need to beat to win the big prize. That’s been going on forever. Back in the day teams were always looking for the MLB to stop the great backs.

I’m not so sure they haven’t been trying to start the same 5 guys on the OL. Jackson simply didn’t get in the practice reps to play game 1, so they plugged Eich in. Jackson comes back in game 2, and the other guys were the same. Davis gets hurt/sucked and they brought in Eich to replace him and the other guys stayed the same.

It’s possible they may have wanted to get Eich some snaps in both games anyway. I didn’t see a lot of substitutes on the interior of the OL. So, in 2 games, it’s been fairly stable. My stream died on me, so I missed most of the fourth quarter on Sunday, but I didn’t see a lot of subbing. I’d guess they would love to go with Jackson, Kindley, Deiter, Hunt, and bringing Eich along slowly with Davis filling in where/if needed. They’ve been close.
With the exception of Deiter, EVERYBODY sucked on our O-Line yesterday. The Guards are to be scrutinized as much as the Tackles.
It was the worst-graded O-Line performance by any team in any game since PFF started.

Lol. Ya got me there! I just meant it appears that Flores wants a fluid, adaptable defense that can be implemented in whatever way he may need to stop anybody. But, it certainly didn’t work yesterday…although I think the defense played fairly well. Our offense just isn’t there yet.
I agree, though our Defense could/can/has done far better than what it did yesterday. No, our Offense didn’t do our Defense any favors, either.

More SPEED on the Defense. We got rid of the slowpokes at the LB position and added pass-rushers and a BALL HAWK from Oregon.
Front 7 speed but even that is a work in progress. We didn’t lose yesterday because of Allen. When we finally stopped the early bleeding at 14-0, the offense couldn’t get us back in the game. The Bills defense overwhelmed our front on offense. That was the game all day.

Flores wants a mobile, multiple defense. Lots of teams are going more in that direction. It means smaller, quicker guys on your front 7 overall. That’s not to stop Allen. It’s because if you want to move guys around and change up your packages without completely changing your personnel a lot you need smaller…or let’s say more medium….guys.

I wish they had left the OL wait was last year and inserted new players. Kindley to LG I thought would be an OK move because he played there in college at a very high level but even that move isn’t panning out. Go back to last year Kindley back to RG hunt back to RT, Jackson and Deiter stay and Eichenberg to LG. Hunt and Kindley played well together on that side.
If they don’t do that then Tim is right we are probably going to have a couple more games at least of this stuff until they start to gel

Correct! We’ve been cross-training nearly all of our O-Linemen to be able to play every position… you aren’t wrong! Nothing wrong with that, until we aren’t having 5 gel in their given positions. But NO, most teams do NOT do what we do, either.
If it takes our young O-Line 4-5 games to really put it together, it may cost us 4-5 games… and EVERY GAME COUNTS. Almost got young Tua killed yesterday, SMH.
Here’s another thing to think about. The top 7 OL we’re rolling with are very young and there is no longevity of them playing together. That’s why I said yesterday maybe we went too young too fast. We’ll see how it plays out during the season.

We are a pretty young team overall. As you’ve stated I think last year going 10-6 put many of us fans on the fast track and maybe that is still not the plan. We’re still sticking to build through the draft and deal with the growing pains. The plan from day one since we hired Flores was to build a team that could sustain winning for more than a year or two. We are really still in our infancy.

again on the next play the LBer is not accounted for by Tua, you got 4 guys on that side of the ball rushing! two guys blocking the RB should have picked someone up yet the RB is blocking air. Tua needs to recognize the opposing D better and call out the protection, not simply say hike!

It’s encouraging to see you hopeful for our OL. You may not know, but my question is why did we get and keep so many fragile WRs in a year we are playing Frankenstein with the OL? We paid 10 mill for Fuller and no QB will have time to find him. We kept Albert Wilson and he’s never done shit. He couldn’t be of similar worth to Flowers or a decent backup OL. We are hoping for 10 wins and the OL to gel in time for next year…and an entirely different crop of WRs.
I just don’t know how Tua will learn how to QB very well running for his life the first 8-9 games. Maybe he turns into Wilson but Russell was a lot better earlier so I have my doubts. Looks more likely he’ll learn the same lessons as Wentz.

I finally got around to watching the game and the offense reminded me of watching a Gase led team. No offensive identify, people not executing and out of sync, undisciplined. Turnovers. Also, what’s with the defense giving up a huge run within the first 2 plays of the game again? They just don’t seem prepared.
I will say that defensive coverage was better Sunday than it was in the Patriots game. Even if the pass was completed the WR was immediately tackled or there was a guy to contest the pass.
We need to focus on running the ball. We see running as an afterthought in the offense and it was abandoned well before the game got out of hand. Offense continually put the defense in bad positions, and we always seemed to be just there, but never enough. I can’t imagine how frustrating that must have been to watch live.
Lots to blame to go around, but it starts with our coaching staff.

I have seen QBs play the next week with bruised ribs I’ve seen them out a couple of games too. Hopefully it’s the former and he is ok to go. Brissett had never been great under pressure. I remember the LSU game where he was thrown in because Brantley was down, Driskell was down and though we had a decent OL it wasn’t good enough for that pass rush. Brissett came apart. He did it at NC State too. We might as well run wildcat the whole time if the pass rush is that bad.

Going back and looking at the #’s, despite the score, our defense played good enough to beat the Bills any given Sunday.
It was all on the offense not being able to execute and our HC making 3 bad decisions on 4th down. Those 4th down calls took 3 points off the board and the other 2 gave them very good field position. Three points don’t mean much when you give up 35 but that was in first half where it would have been 14-3. Should have been more than 3 points if not for the turnovers.
If you told me Allen’s #’s were going to be 17 of 33 (51.5 comp %) for 179 with 2 TD’s and 1 INT before the game, I would have said, “Hell Yeah”. If you told me Allen would rush 5 times for 35 yards and no TD’s I would say, “I’ll take it”. If you take away Singleton’s 46 yard TD run, he only averaged 3 yards a carry and Zack Moss only 3.3 yards a carry. I would take these Defensive #’s every time we play them. Bills barely had over 300 total yards of offense (314).
The OL failed us, our skill players failed us and our HC failed us.
I agree. The defense almost always delivers at least a workable win. 314 yards doesn’t normally score 28 points much less 35. They had three drives that needed less than 55 yards to score 7. They gave us two TOs. Their offense was poor most if the game. We were given lots of chances to be in this game and our offense and coaching decisions were terrible.
IMO when you lose that bad it’s got to be considered on all parts of the team. That was a pathetic game. Fails all over, doesn’t really matter if one part failed harder than the other there wasn’t much success on defense either. They just didn’t completely shit the bed.
Lost a rugby game 101-3 once. What can you do after other than brush yourself off and get ready for the next one. But will admit was easier after that one cause was a British travel team (like an all star squad) that was like a MLB team playing us as a college team.

Some discussion above about our O-line being young and hopefully getting better as they age together. I feel the need to point out that our O-line coach is also very young and inexperienced. Perhaps a mistake giving him the reigns, perhaps not. We will see.

According to team sources, Solomon Kindley — who started the first two games at left guard — is expected to go to the bench against Las Vegas and rookie second-round pick Liam Eichenberg is expected to be inserted as a starter Sunday, barring another change of heart by the staff during practices this week.
Austin Jackson is expected to keep his job at left tackle for now, but he knows he must improve. Internally, he graded out as Miami’s second-worst lineman against Buffalo, per sources.
Per Pro Football Focus, Jackson permitted nine quarterback pressures and at least one of Buffalo’s six sacks and has been one of the NFL’s lowest-graded tackles since the start of his rookie season in 2020.
Dolphins coaches and officials, this week, privately and briefly discussed the wisdom of two global issues: moving Robert Hunt back from right guard to right tackle and possibly shifting Jackson from left tackle to guard. The sources said both remain on the table as long-term options, but the Dolphins are not expected to execute either of those moves now.
If they are doing moves like this now and contemplating others….. comes down to the OL is a mess, but guess we already knew that.
