The Tua era begins!

Get used to seeing this, this image is the future of our team. I thank Ryan Fitzpatrick for his dedication and his leadership and the inspiration he provided for our team, the Miami Dolphins. His enjoyment and enthusiasm was infectious. I’m not going to disparage Ryan Fitzpatrick in order to make it clear why Tua should be starting. If we can look at things and detach ourselves from Ryan Fitzpatrick the person, you can realize that it’s been the defense and its improvement that has changed the fortune of the team, not the play of the QB. Fitz is pretty up and down and while he’s having a good season, don’t be lulled into thinking it was great. Now the team is finally scoring over 25 PPG but in this NFL, decent teams do that. The main reason we’re now 3-3 is because our defense is allowing only 18.8 PPG, good for 4th in the NFL.

Before the 2020 NFL draft, and before the injury to Tua Tagovailoa, Tua was considered the most pro ready NFL prospect and possibly the most talented. Yes, Joe Burrow had one epic season but Tua had been doing it for longer, getting better each season while starting a high floor to begin with. I think the plan was to use the BYE week to give Tua the maximum amount of time to get reps in practice. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the NFL was forced to reschedule a few games which led to a change in our BYE week from Week 11 to Week 7. Without any preseason games for Tua to get ready and get some action, this is the next best opportunity and the fact that it presented itself 4 weeks earlier is unfortunate for Ryan Fitzpatrick but hopefully ends up being better for our team.

We got a glimpse this past Sunday of Tua, 2 pass attempts, 2 completions for a total of 9 yards and he converted a 3rd down, the ONLY 3rd down conversion of the day for the Miami Dolphins. We can do better folks, we really can. That’s not a knock on Fitzpatrick but if we can’t convert any 3rd downs against the Jets, how can we do it against better teams? I feel like Mike Gesicki has once again become totally underutilized. He IS that TE we’ve been waiting for, we need to use him. The O-line has been getting the job done, even with the necessitated switch of Jesse Davis to LT and Robert Hunt to RT. I know many are worried now as to whether Hunt can protect Tua’s blind side but the coaches are aware and will work around it. Tua can move and he will get rid of the ball quickly. Myles Gaskin has carried the load and the load continues to progressively increase. This is good. We haven’t had that kind of consistency with a RB since Jay Ajayi was here. Thankfully Adam Gase isn’t here anymore so Gaskin is safe.

Look to the future, both immediate and distant and be happy #1 is now our QB. Be excited! Let yourself feel the energy of having an elite talent at QB. This is what you have waited for so don’t be shy, nervous or otherwise, embrace it! This is a great time for our team, you can see that things are coming together, and we’re in year 1 of the rebuild after the tear down. The defense we were complaining about earlier in the season is playing as well or better than we all hoped they would at this juncture. Be excited! This is what we live for as Dolphins fans so don’t squander it with “What ifs” and “How come now”, just be freaking elated that we’re just a game out from being atop our division and our best football is yet to come! Oh, and be excited that the Bi Week Babe is coming to a blog near you very soon, as early as this weekend!

    Tua Tua Tua

    • steveccnv says:

It’s like the Queen song Radio. All we hear is Tua goo goo Tua ga ga…

      • Mike E. says:

I think we’re also hearing what a big mistake we’re making. I just don’t believe that to be the case. The best teams have to be able to pass to win, all the best teams score in bunches and you have to be able to pass to keep up. Fitz can only be that guy every now and again when he’s Fitzmagic. Tua is our best chance in that regard and although it may not happen overnight, he’s our best chance to go far this year and beyond.

      • steveccnv says:

You gotta make the move to the future at some point, might as well be now. I just hope we don’t have the growing pains that Cincinnati and the Chargers are facing. Burrow and Herbert are performing good, but not good enough to win.

  2. steveccnv says:

When we signed Fitz I was glad they chose him. I expected it to be more of a fun offense, instead of the not another 3rd and long we have no, Tannehill, chance of converting. I thought we’d have a chance to win some games, because of how he can elevate his play on certain weeks, but also knew the Fitztragic too.

I’d like to thank him for what he’s brought to us the past 16 games.

Now its Tua Time. Do, do, do do Tua Time, can’t touch this 😏

  3. ocalarob says:

we were not able to convert a 3rd down until Tua came in? and we won 24-0?? that’s very puzzling, maybe it’s because we were converting on 2nd and 1st downs.

    sounds like CNN

    • Mike E. says:

1-9 on 3rd down efficiency. 24-0 means our defense kicked ass. Offense, meh. If it was the Chiefs it would have been 45-0

      • steveccnv says:

I hate when people say shit like that, you’re probably joking, so this isn’t for you, It wasn’t the Chiefs, if it was we would’ve had a different game plan and called more aggressive plays. You don’t have to be aggressive to beat the jets, so why take the risk?

  4. stangerx says:

Mike E – you are right to talk about the importance of the moment. No matter what happens. Twenty years from now are all going to remember what happens with Tua rest of the season. Lets hope we talk about the Rams game like Marino’s first one against the Bills.

  5. ocalarob says:

i’m excited as anyone is to see what Tua can do, but not at the expense of the season. i would think this team needs more players and more time for the rookies we have to gel.
my fear is they put Tua in then bench him like they did Rosen

    • stangerx says:

My fear too, but thing is neither you, I or anyone else on this board knows how ready Tua is. Fitz has a much better idea though…. and he said the move has to be permanent.

      • ocalarob says:

i dont think tua has the same skilset as fitz, tua’s a pocket passer and played on a team who most of the time played against inferior talent.
he no longer has that luxury.
fitz does what he has to, somehow i don’t see tua putting his head down like fitz does. lately that’s what it has taken to carry this team to victory

who knows tua may be the 2nd coming of marino. i sure hope so

      • steveccnv says:

No, that’s what Fitz had to do to carry us to victory.

    • Rhino says:

2020 is NOT our season. Not with 3 rookie OL. I’m not in favor of thinking Fitz (on his 8th team) is the ANSWER. Are you fucking kidding me? Yes, let’s keep the 20 INT guy in so we can go 9-7 instead of 7-9 (sarcasm). I remind you: you can’t get to second base if you don’t take your foot off of first base.

  6. stangerx says:

Trump’s twitter account got accessed twice by the same guy simply by guessing the password. In 2016 he guessed “yourefired.” Couple days ago he got in with “maga2020!” on the 5th try. He didn’t threaten war or anything…..just let Trump’s folks know their security is pretty lame.

  7. herdfan says:

I know you guys are excited to see the new era begin. I think it might be too soon is all, has nothing to do with Fitz. I think the decision wasn’t Flores and that’s how it leaked.

    Hope it all works out.

  8. Mike E. says:

Why are you all so worried about the timing? Are we some kind of juggernaut steaming over the NFL and on cruise control for a BYE when the playoffs start? If you can believe that the plan was to start Tua aafter the BYE, then that’s what we’re doing. We can’t help the fact that it happened 4 weeks earlier but it’s clearly the best time to get Tua ready, 2 weeks of practice and both of them getting starter reps. It makes sense, and again, we just hit .500, relaaaaaaax.

  9. Mike E. says:

Stanger – That’s some crazy shit! You would think he would be more careful choosing his passwords, especially considering how much he utilizes his twitter account. Unbelievable!

  10. Mike E. says:

Rob – I don’t want Tua running around diving forward to get a couple of extra yards while risking injury. That’s what a 37 year old guy who is playing on limited time can do. I’d rather Tua stand in the pocket and throw TD’s. I’d be willing to lose the QB running component to get more TD’s on the board.

  11. Mike E. says:

Also, for reals . . . .Why are you comparing the skillset of Ryan Fitzpatrick to Tua Tagovailoa? I think it’s fair to say that 32 teams would rather have the skillset of Tua over Fitz. It’s not a negative, it’s a POSITIVE! Man, did you lament Marino taking over for David Woodley? Woodley took the Dolphins to a Superbowl!

    • ocalarob says:

because i think we need more of a guy that can take it to the opposing ds more physically now with the current roster we have. not sure our ol can hold up to the time that tua may need. i don’t think they are seasoned enough with 2 rookies on the ol and one was a 2nd stringer.

      • stangerx says:

Not a doubt in the world that Fitz getting the ball out quick has helped the OL. But one thing Tua can do is scramble and create. Might even out.

      • Mike E. says:

Geez, it’s like you forget the Fitztragic games. I think Fitz running around like he did was reckless as hell. I don’t think it was sustainable. Some team was gonna eventually drill him and that would be that. We can be physical running the ball with our backs and by keeping defenders off Tua and allowing him time to pick them apart. I don’t think Fitzpatrick running for 10 yards here and there made us a physically imposing team, not by a longshot.

      • ocalarob says:

Mike i don’t blame everything on Fitz, have you noticed our Roster over the last year? that’s what’s tragic.
I think Fitz is doing a great job, matter of fact unbelievable job! you don’t pull someone on that situation.
i’m not saying my views are correct, only time will tell

  12. ocalarob says:

Stanger, You downplayed hunter bidens emails saying it was no big deal because Joe was seen in a pic with burisma guy. you’ve been downplaying Biden and promoting anti Trump all along,
I’m not sure when it is “monumental” or not.

we should stop talking politics however if you continue to bash the right you should expect retaliation,

no big deal but maybe try to mix it up a little instead of trying to minimize your political statements when called out as it’s very apparent where you stand.

those whom live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

    • Mike E. says:

I didn’t think Stanger posted that as a political post. It was about his twitter account. I don’t think he meant anything by it, but that’s just my take.

      • ocalarob says:

no big deal but his agenda is apparent, maybe he should bash Biden with the same enthusiasm, then it wouldn’t seem so “monumental”

    • stangerx says:

I’ve called myself a NeverTrumper… how more apparent could I make it where I stand? And what did you really call me out for? I found the passwords funny. You act like I have some stealth operation going on. And I do hope that have also shown at least at times that will call out Biden (who is not my magic man) as well. I’ll certainly bash the far left all day long with pleasure. And on Biden dodging the court packing issue…..which bugs me.

  13. steveccnv says:

He forgets Tua gets the ball out faster than anyone. Fitz scrambles pretty good once eludes the rush, but Tua is better at beating pressure and he throws more when the pocket breaks down than Fitz.

Do you want to win maybe 1 or 2 games more this, make the playoffs and lose in the first round to Chiefs or Ravens at the expense of getting Tua ready for the future?

Just remember the best window to win a title is in the first 5 years of a 1st round rookie QB, after that you have to pay him, so the talent around him is less.

  14. Mike E. says:

BTW – Yannick Ngakoue to the Ravens. Man I hate that fucking team! Vikings don’t know what the heck they’re doing. I guess they only lose a round an a half on the 3rd RD pick but why pick him up and then trade him after 6 games?

and you know this how? by watching him beat the arkansas red wolves 57-7?

how did he do against Clemson?

he’s never faced NFL talent before.

  16. steveccnv says:

The way the D has been playing Flores might want a game manager. Aikman was a great game manager, because he was so accurate. I can see Tua being that type of player this year.

Watching Aikman in the pro bowl in his prime it was obvious he was the best player on the field, to which I thought, why don’t the Cowboys let him throw more? Because they didn’t have to.

  17. Mike E. says:

I’m one who is actually glad they’re going to cut off the mics when their time is up in the debate tonight. It actually drove me crazy last debate when Trump constantly interrupted, he looked like more of an asshole than he really is, which is pretty hard to do. lol

    • stangerx says:

It’s the rules enforced. But in each segment there will still be 11 minutes with both mikes on.

      • Mike E. says:

Oh really? I thought they were just going to allow one person to talk at a time. I’d prefer it that way.

      • stangerx says:

15 minutes for each subject. Each candidate gets 2 minutes with the other candidate on mute…… then 11 minutes of anything goes.

      • steveccnv says:

Now if they’d only turn the partisan moderator’s mike off too.

    • ocalarob says:

that’s funny, i didn’t hear trump once personally attack biden, i did hear biden personally attack trump, and when biden was cornered he quickly tried to change the subject.

when asked about his sons business dealings he called trump a racist. he deflects the questions instead of answering with unsubstantiated attacks.
if you ask the wrong question youre a racist, youre a white supremacist
      cloud the issues tactic

  18. stangerx says:

“The Buffalo Bills aren’t going to let money dictate their starting lineup. The team made a surprising move Wednesday, cutting guard Quinton Spain just months after giving Spain a $15 million extension.”

    • steveccnv says:

I hate retarded U75 articles like this, that gives some hacks no shit Sherlock opinion.

I do however like the info, the Bill’s FDup, thanks Stanger.

  19. steveccnv says:

ORob it’s really interesting sometimes posting with you, like today. On football posts we’re generally not on the same thought process on politics we generally are.

LOL so we are going on our 2nd debate, it was clear who’s side Wallace was on, wouldn’t it be fair to let the right choose the moderator this time?

i would like to see Tucker Carlson take a go at Biden, that would be must see TV!

The ratings would be through the roof!

    • steveccnv says:

5 debates for Trump, 2016 and 2020, and a town hall on moderated by liberals. Why?

    • stangerx says:

Were you hitting on me for talking politics before? Seems it’s OK if you do.

But heck yeah would be interesting if they had 3 debates and each side got to choose a moderator for one of them with the commission the third. Figure part of being able to be Pres is facing the fire.

      • ocalarob says:

you started it, the gloves are off!

      • stangerx says:

So now what you were having a real problem with is cool. I’m fine with that. I used to turn votes for a living and one thing am sure of is none can be turned on this board.

      • ocalarob says:

        I know the truth hurts

      • stangerx says:

That makes no sense. Or what did you mean? If that votes can’t be changed goes for you as well….. which means we are just talking.

      • steveccnv says:

Exactly Stanger part of being president is facing fire, something Biden has yet to face, if he wants to be president he should answer the the tough questions. “I’m not talking about that, the issue is this man…”
        Obama never did either.

Trump faces the tough questions just about every day.

      • stangerx says:

steve — I’m cool with that. But then why suggested. Will point out though that Trump spends a lot of time on Fox News….. so he at least likes less than tough Qs at times.

      • ocalarob says:

        isn’t Wallace a Fox guy?

      • stangerx says:

Wallace is a Fox News guy but not a Trump guy….. least according to Trump.

      • ocalarob says:

so how does that equate to less tough questions by Fox? Wallace was brutal against Trump.

  22. Mike E. says:

The moderators have been awful, both in the debates and town hall meetings. My point was, Trump was ridiculous with his interruptions. That’s on him/ The bias of the moderators has been despicable, and Savannah Guthrie was worse than Chris Wallace

steve — I’m cool with that. But then why suggested. Will point out though that Trump spends a lot of time on Fox News….. so he at least likes less than tough Qs at times.

How can you compare a guy that faces the MSM more than any president ever has, with someone who hasn’t taken 1 tough question yet? Wait I take that back, Trump threw one his way in the 1st debate and Biden called him a clown, then in a talk somewhere on the campaign trail a young lady threw one at him and he called her a dog face pony soldier, and another guy asked him one and he respond look here fats.

    • ocalarob says:

Hi Joe, What did you have for dinner?

      • steveccnv says:

You got me there, that’s a tough one for joe.

And we didn’t even bring up his devices he uses to answer questions.

    • stangerx says:

I didn’t compare them and actually agreed with what you said. Wasn’t a checkmate move on it…. just pointed out something Trump does as a mitigating factor. You cool with that? Cause didn’t seem to be on first read.

  25. ocalarob says:

where would Joe Biden be without his teleprompter?

I think pelosi and beady eyed schiff are posting the answers as they are asked on it.

    • stangerx says:

Won’t be a teleprompter for Biden tonight. Interested to see how it unfolds.

      • Mike E. says:

Was that a rule they put in, no teleprompters?

      • stangerx says:

Never been any in the debates. But both candidates have their stored speeches on this or that in their minds. It’s sorta funny at times to see them take a turn from the actual Q and head to one of those.

  26. ocalarob says:

Adam Schiff trying to pin Bidens sons emails on the russians planting them.

is that why Bidens attrny was frantically tring to get them back?

when you lie it’s always good to lie to people who don’t know the truth.

and what’s really confusing is people are actually supporting these lies when they know them to be lies!
and that is the people who cast their vote for the left

  27. Mike E. says:

Stanger – I didn’t think they’d ever allow them but the way you said should be interesting made me think otherwise. I think Trump did Biden a favor by talking over him most of the time. I’d let Joe talk and let him trip himself up, but that’s me.

    • stangerx says:

Trump just needs to seem like a reasonable person. A whole lot of people looking to believe he’s a centered guy cause they like his policies more, but are a bit scared of his stability. And heck yeah up until tonight Biden has just been letting Trump be Trump.

      • steveccnv says:

Lol at his stability. More disinformation.

What has he done that might make anyone think he wasn’t centeted?

      • stangerx says:

150-some interruptions at the first debate. He got killed in the polls for that. And we are talking about the second debate.

      • steveccnv says:

Lol at the polls, the fake polls. He talked over him every time he lied, if that means anything to you.

      • stangerx says:

How do you know the polls were fake? Like a dozen of the most respected ones all said the same thing. Specifically on the debate and a bump overall that has remained.

  28. ocalarob says:

the more you try to bury something the more people try to dig it up.

  29. Mike E. says:

Steve – You think Trump seems reasonable or someone that is completely in control of himself? Fuck man, I voted for him but he behaves like a 5 year old who just had his cookies and milk taken away by his mommy. If he behaved anywhere near normal he would have this election in the bag.

    • ocalarob says:

gee, how would you behave under his scrutiny?

      • Mike E. says:

Rob – If I wanted to win the election I wouldn’t behave like he did. Simple as that. He can’t help himself.

    • steveccnv says:

Yes, I think he’s in control of himself, if you go back and watch the 1st debate again you’ll see he’s in total control. He’s talking over Biden a lot, but Biden started it and he’s not irate, he’s not name calling, and he’s not out of control. He’s in more control that Biden was. Biden everytime he didn’t have a good response he name called or said one of those stupid come on man type of phrases, or said he’s not talking about it.

    ——————————————————–
I think they are talking second half where we didnt pick up a first down at all until Tua came in, but i also agree that a mop up time first down isnt a world shaker lol.I think though you do have to temper that game with a first half to second half comparison, where Fitztragic was out there for the second half. I love the guy, and im in the group that thinks we could have probably rode with Fitz a few more games, but it seems the plan was aftyer BYE, and it only surprising because our BYE got moved up and so did their plan.

  31. Mike E. says:

Rock – Why does Russia want Trump as President?

  32. Rockphin says:

The fucktards are running rampant today I see.

  33. Rockphin says:

It is not bias to call a liar a liar when he is lying. When the moderators call out Trump for is CONTSTANT AND CONSISTANT lies it is RIGHT. It is WRONG to let him lie on air and not correct it. That is why so many fucktards believe trump. Nobody will stand up and say “That is not true sir” and if they do he attacks them and says they are against him. They are against his CONSTANT lies.

    • steveccnv says:

Lies based on the left’s fact checker aren’t lies. I can’t remember the last time Biden Pelosi Schumer Schiff or anyone else on the left actually made a true statement.

Every Biden commercial is a lie. The last one I heard was he isn’t going to raise taxes on anyone making under 400K. Yeah sure Joe, you said yourself you were going to repeal Trump’s tax bill on day 1. That same tax bill that saved the average person $1800.

  34. Mike E. says:

Steve – That’s cool, we saw the debate differently. There are always different points of view.

  35. Mike E. says:

Rock – I didn’t read the senate report but if I remember correctly there was maybe’s in there but no hard proof of anything. What exactly is Russia making Trump do in your opinion since you strongly believe it? What’s the endgame?

    • steveccnv says:

It’s all horseshit from those trying to protect Biden. No surprise he won’t ever answer any questions about it.

  36. D says:

Lol calling one a liar while not calling the other one is bias. I agree with you though, i know Trump is a liar, and i know Binden is too, i can always tell they are about to tell one because their lips start moving. In this world of politics, if you think you have a truthful man as your guy, then you arent right, you just have bought stock in their manure and want to believe your shit isn’t as stinky.

  37. Mike E. says:

LOL Krishna – Me too! That’s great

  38. Krishna says:

    Did I say I hate politics/politicians?

  39. D says:

To be honest, at this point i would sign the presidency over to Biden if the deal came with Schumer, Pelosi and AOC on the streets never to return again

  40. D says:

What would be fun would be if we did elections to where the second place guy had to be the VP for the guy who won lol. Can you see either scenario, Biden with Trump VP or Trump with Biden VP? that shit would be a daily saturday night live skit.

  41. D says:

They should do the Senate and House like a lawyer jury selection, each side appoints one member to be the jury selection and they confer and cast out the ones they want to dismiss. Constantly could churn out the dick bags because the other side would definately put them on their list.

  42. Tim Knight says:

Stanger, you did NOT just say you were a “Lincoln Project” guy, did you? Dude, that is communistic and ANTI-American (democratic Republic) in it’s values… and trying to indoctrinate children in the schools (just like Common Core). I get that you’re a “Never Trumper”, but REALLY???

I’m losing a LOT of respect for you, friend. You really are a RINO, aren’t you?

And why the fixation on my politics? Certainly don’t have one on yours.

I know EXACTLY what the “Lincoln Project” is, Stanger. Why am I so-called “fixated” on your politics? Because I thought for over a decade, you were a decent and honest broker of truth and justice. You are a former attorney, and I thought you had better judgement than most when it comes to these kinds of things.

      • stangerx says:

Got confused when you called the Lincoln Project communistic. If the rest of your message comes with knowing what it actually is…… then our politics differ. I’m cool with that. How America works.

  44. Krishna says:

A shout out to the The Lincoln Project. Never seen this backlash against one’s own party in my lifetime. Disenfranchised Republicans seeing their party go down in a Trump toilet.

  45. mf13ss says:

Yeah, I’m somewhat bothered by switching to Tua in the HERE AND NOW, being Fitzpatrick has a very hot hand… it doesn’t make sense to me, really.

However, it’s ALL GOOD if Tua balls out in this, his rookie season. We’ll see.

I just feel bad for the Fitz, after all he’s done for us. I welcome Tua, all the same.

    GO PHINS!!!
    HELL YEAH!!!

  46. Mike E. says:

Krishna – Saying former Republicans are watching their party go down the toilet is funny, because Trump beat anyone and everyone they put up against him, as did Biden for the Democrats. I wonder how many “former” and current Democrats will feel the same way if Joe wins. Frankly, he’s no better than Trump, even if some people would like to believe he is. He’s no better a human being, he’s just more practiced at hiding what he really is, and even then he gaffes and says some the stupidest things that are totally racially insensitive. In other words, if the Republican party was so great, how did Trump steal the election? Both parties suck!!!

I come from a staunch Democratic part household. Believe me this is not my parents Democratic party either, it’s a disgrace right now.

    ——————-
It is crazy, Krishna… and I hear you. The Dems everyone grew up knowing aren’t the same (went further LEFT), and the Reps everyone grew up knowing aren’t the same (went further LEFT).

It’s been said too many times to count, that JFK, TODAY, would be further RIGHT than even RWR.

Something we ALL can agree on? Times are a changin’, bud.

  49. manitobafinfan says:

Nice write up Mike E and I agree with ya 100%.

Team is gelling and D is balling .. Fitz helped us get to this point, 3-3 and he helped Tua get to where Flo felt he needed to be in order to hand him the keys .. I believe the D has been good enough to recover from Fitz mistakes, we should be fine if Tua makes a couple .. No I do not want to see Tua diving head first at a LB .. I think he is going to be a smarter runner than that . I think he is also a lot more accurate and has more zip on passes than Fitz.

It is time Tua see the future… at least not using Rosen coloured glasses.

And yes would love for Fitz to join coaching staff.

    Out for the ride home.

  50. Krishna says:

Ok….I guess I stepped into it.

So, Mike E., you’ve actually seen disenfranchised Democrats develop a strategy, advertising campaign, very high level, senior party advisers denouncing their their president. Please enlighten me.

    No disrespect to your parents.

    I thought I was clear.

    • Mike E. says:

No, what I’m saying is if Joe Biden wins you may see the same thing from Democrats who have become disenchanted. We’ll have to wait and see on this. I know many Democrats who are very unhappy that Joe is the Democratic choice now, I want to see how it looks 4 years later. Also, I expect Kamala will be President well before the term is over so we’ll see how that works out as well. I strongly dislike both of them, I see no redeeming qualities in either, just more of the same ole, same ole. Both spew lies freely just like Trump but Trump doesn’t even care what people think.

  51. Krishna says:

If you think Trump is a unicorn, I would watch your back.

    • mf13ss says:

There is no such thing as a unicorn, not even Trump. That’s how I roll, man. If it’s too good to be true, there’s something amiss…

I do support President Trump, big time. THAT SAID, the very first time I feel he’s threatening the Constitution (I’m a Constitutionalist), I’ll call for his ouster, Krishna. THAT I can promise you.

  52. Krishna says:

Beating the Republican slate and then Hillary was no great task, imo.

    • Mike E. says:

That’s what I’m saying Krishna, the Republican party wasn’t all that if they allowed Trump to steal the party from them. There was one candidate from 2016 that I liked and that was John Kasich. He was pretty lifeless and vanilla but he seemed like the most decent candidate of the bunch and one that was probably as close to the middle politically. He got whupped though.

  53. Krishna says:

I was a big fan of George Will and William Buckley back in the day, by the way.

    Smart dudes, imo.

    • mf13ss says:

Me too, actually! But IMO, George Will revealed himself to be part of the “ESTABLISHMENT”. I used to enjoy seeing George Will on ABC’s “This Week”.

Today, I cannot tolerate him. JMO, as always.

    • stangerx says:

Krishna — my parents were friends with the Buckleys. Bill was my Dad’s political idol when he was youmg and then he got to know him and work with him. Used to come over for dinner now and then. Was pretty cool.

  54. Krishna says:

Mf13ss, so you don’t think a wannabe autocrat like Trump breaks constitutional norms?

    Ok…I’m going back to delusional.

    • mf13ss says:

Honestly, I think President Trump is going back to Constitutional norms: Faith and Family. I do realize that it’s not for everybody (I get it!), but I respect it. I don’t see a problem with it whatsoever. And that he’s focusing on US (America) first, is extraordinary.

I mean… if we can’t fix ourselves, how are we to fix anybody else? These are time-honored traditions that still (and will always) hold true. I truly think he’s a good man, and I LOVE how he’s not starting wars, and bringing our kids back home! WAR IS BAD, SAD, and there’s no such thing as a ‘great warrior’ (~ Yoda).

      • Krishna says:

        Talk about a bubble….whatever.

        Not even close!

I would never teach, cajole, expect loyalty while I’m lying my ass off. That’s cult shit.

    • Krishna says:

Funny how you always show up with this when I post. But, anyone on your side, the imagery is blind….lmfao.

      Typical.

  55. Krishna says:

I was considering John McCain, too, until he picked a lipsticked pig for a running mate. He must have had a hot flash.

I reconsidered his judgement big time after that.

  56. Krishna says:

And, to be clear, I have never voted for a president based on party. It’s always about the candidate and what I think they bring to the table.

    KISS.

  57. CavalierKong says:

I think my views on Trump are well known, but I have a hard time believing the Trump Twitter account story.

    • Krishna says:

You mean he really did tweet all that stupid shit?

    • stangerx says:

Twitter has said didn’t happen, so you are probably right. That dude spun a good story onto my front Yahoo page though.

      • CavalierKong says:

Ah, I haven’t checked today’s news yet, so haven’t seen that debunked. I usually get caught up here before anything else. I forgot the debate is tonight until I read it here. I may actually give it another watch. I am curious to see how Biden handles the Hunter questions and accusations.

      • CavalierKong says:

or just a watch since I haven’t seen it yet, I swear, lol

      • stangerx says:

Find it incredibly hard to think about anything else than watch the debate. What the heck is Trump going to do? Dude does not lie when he says he is good for ratings. If Biden wins cable news ratings will crash.

  58. mf13ss says:

Know what pizzed me off more than anything today? The Vikes trading Yannick Ngakoue to the Ravens!

Yannick has 5 sacks in 5 games started for the Vikes… and they TRADE HIM??? WHY?!!!

And to the RAVENS of all teams??? WHY?!!!

Yeah, Mike E… I hear ya, man! I don’t hate the Ravens like you do, but that was just WOW… as in WTF?!!

    • CavalierKong says:

I guess the silver lining is ‘at least it wasn’t the Patriots’ lol. Although to a lot of Fins fans, the Ravens are just as bad, lol.

      • mf13ss says:

Yessir, I’m VERY HAPPY(!) the Patsies* didn’t land Yannick. But man… that Ravens’ Defense was a monster even BEFORE today’s trade. They are SICK on Defense, Bro!

      • Krishna says:

I’ve always admired the Ravens defense back to the day they blew out Marino by 60 something points in the playoffs. I was like, WTF?

  59. D says:

I actually thought she was what McCain needed to win, until she opened her mouth and then I was like oh shit John you just fucked up.

  60. D says:

What was the company for Yannick before you ask the question as to why you might already have an answer right there. Everyone is available for a price

  61. Mike E. says:

M – I didn’t always hate the Ravens, I think it started when we played them late in the season a couple of years when we were in playoff contention and they absolutely wrecked us. I have hated them since. Can’t help it. 🙂

  62. Randy says:

    MF13,
I can tell you what they are saying about the Ngakoue trade and why it happened up here. The Vikes have pretty much decided their season is over, so they are making moves to get draft choices. Ngakoue is from the Baltimore area and so the trade just kinda worked for all parties. He may have brought more elsewhere, but they’d already kinda screwed with Ngakoue by trading FOR him and telling him they were a guy away from competing for a SB win….so they kinda did him a solid trading him to a contender, so people say, in his home area. Look for the Vikes to trade a few more high priced players.

  63. Mike E. says:

Krishna – That was the Jaguars (62-7), Dan Marino’s last game as a Dolphins QB. The Ravens beat us when Penningtonm was the QB, they dared him to throw by stacking the box knowing Penny couldn’t throw deep.

  64. Tim Knight says:

Krishna, that was JAX that beat Marino and the Dolphins 62-7 in the playoffs.

  65. Mike E. says:

Steve – I just saw your reply at 1:59 to my comment about the score and the 3rd downs. I was saying if the Chiefs played the Jets it would have been 45-0.

  66. D says:

I’d love for us to get theilen he would be a great receiver add for us. I wanted us to make that trade before the season started if ya remember. I’d be ok if we got him and just skipped receiver in the draft even though I’d really like to draft Waddle with one of our firsts.

  67. Randy says:

    D,
I think Theilen would be great. I’m not sure they would trade him, but I’ll work on the trade! Lol

  68. D says:

Krishna, it was the Jags 62-7 in Marino’s last game…… Sorry couldn’t help myself lol

  69. Randy says:

    Krishna,
Um, hey, just Incase you didn’t know….uh, that Marino game was against the Jags. 😏

  70. Tim Knight says:

I don’t think we need Theilen with Parker and Williams. We need an explosive speed guy. Grant has great speed but he’s not a top level receiver.

  71. Randy says:

    D,
MN has some pretty nice defensive guys I wouldn’t mind nabbing. Harrison Smith, Kendricks, maybe even Danielle Hunter if they’re nuts. Lol

  72. Krishna says:

Memory is first to go? Although Mrs. K would vouch for me.

I am horrible a stats, LT and ST memory issues, and basically get concepts, some details, and the rest is all bullshit.

Not much left to remember, imo….lol

    • stangerx says:

Memory gets less sharp with age, just the way it is. We all saw it in our grandparents., and our turn is coming up.

  73. Randy says:

    Tim,
I’d put Theilen in the slot with Parker and Williams on the outside and watch him feast on single coverage. He doesn’t have to play on the outside to be effective.

  74. Krishna says:

Something I will remember, Tua will have his first start on our anniversary. I hope it’s a good omen

    I probably won’t remember the year …lol.

  75. steveccnv says:

    Chris Carter talking up Tua.

  76. Mike E. says:

Krishna – it can only be the best of omens. Two of the very best people

  77. Randy says:

    Tim,
I don’t think they’d trade Theilen anyway. Jefferson is a stud. He and Theilen together give them a really nice starting duo.

  78. Randy says:

    Ken,
Cousins would be horrible behind that Dallas OL. But, I could see Dallas giving it a shot. I think any QB is gonna struggle there.

  79. Ken says:

Maybe Gase will trade Darnold to the Cowboys

  80. Randy says:

    Ken,
I never liked Cousins either. I don’t think he’s an upgrade over Dalton but maybe Jones does. The Vikes screwed the pooch signing him to that guaranteed contract, so it’s gonna hurt to just get rid of him. They might be better served financially to keep him while they rebuild and draft his replacement. They’ve already paid him.

    • Ken says:

If they could get enough pucks it might be worth their while. I do think he is an upgrade over Dalton whom I don’t think very much of at all

  81. Tim Knight says:

Why would anyone trade for Cousins?

  82. olddolphan says:

A BIT OF GOOD NEWS on Mrs. OD. Since her transfer from the hell-hole hospital to the physical therapy place, she HAS IMPROVED. Far better treatment is the key. Her new location is on a hard COVID Lockdown–no visitors allowed for the time being. But I can wave to her thru the big window on one side of her room (while we talk back and forth on our phones). Her original one day stay in the hospital before being sent home has turned into a full week as an in-patient, WITH NO END IN SIGHT!! We are hoping she’ll be allowed to come home to continue her therapy within the next 7 days. But, there are no guarantees at this point. It has been very tough on both of us. But, at least, now she is smiling and full of hope. It’s been a major ordeal.
    ———————
CAN’T WAIT until the full TUA ERA begins. It’s the start of a new era for Dolfans everywhere!!
A SPOT in the playoffs is a VERY REAL POSSIBILITY this season!! I’M pretty sure most of you saw my prediction for the Fins this season (9-6-1 and a spot in the 7-team playoffs). I still believe that is a real possibility!!
    ——————–
UNLIKE THE FINS, my alma mater, FAU, is destined to have a bad season under proven loser head coach Willie Taggert. FAU has played JUST ONE GAME this season, a 21-17 squeaker win over a weak Charlotte team. FAU’s other 5 scheduled games have been lost to the virus, partly due to the new coach’s inability to get the players to stop doing stupid things that only make the pandemic situation WORSE at FAU. I EXPECT a lopsided loss to Herd’s Marshall boys this Saturday (IF THE GAME IS PLAYED)!!
This will be Taggert’s first, AND LAST, season as head coach at FAU!!

  83. olddolphan says:

I KNOW IT’s BEEN SAID that the best College football teams would stand no chance against the worst NFL teams. THAT SAID, I’d take LSU’s undefeated team last year straight up against either tonight’s Giants team or Eagles team. In fact, I’d rate that LSU team as the favorites to win the NFC East if they were competing in that division this year!!

Y’all have a great evening and a better tomorrow.

  84. manitobafinfan says:

Watch replay of Daniel Jones run. Hilarious.

  85. ocalarob says:

    1st issue Covid
Biden wants to shut down the economy again.
    that is a disaster.
as trump said the cure is worse than the disease.
shutting down this country is economic suicide.
you can forget about Tua and the Dolphins there will be no sports.

Joe brought up Hunter Biden mess saying he “maybe shouldn’t have brought it up” flat out lying about the issue saying it’s the russians. LOL blame it on the Ruskys.
he knows where those emails came from, if it wasn’t true the new york post would be in big trouble for defamation, you can bet they checked it out before printing that story.

and i guess the russians tucked Hunter Biden in bed with a crack pipe hanging out his mouth also. you would have to be a complete idiot to buy the russian hoax especially from the left.

and if you don’t buy the russian theory then.
    Joe Biden is corrupt!

  86. Ken says:

The Giants can wind up winning that division lol and smh

  87. sb7mvp says:

Trumps biggest strength is also his weakness. He’s not a career politician so he doesnt know how to properly present himself in a positive light. He spends way too much time talking about himself positively and others negatively. I think Biden has won both of these debates, especially so in the second one. The first one he was bowled over by Trump, but in the process Trump made himself look worse. Biden has spent the last two debates focusing on the American people and Trump has yapped about himself and people who aren’t even at the debate. Joe was very skilled at being corrupt and presenting himself as caring. If I was an everyday person who didnt know what was going on in the world and was watching these debates I would be considering Biden. Unfortunately, I do know what’s going on, so I know both are just complete liars who dont care about anyone but their own crime families and how they can get more money for themselves. Sadly, we need true leadership in this country and I dont see it happening anytime soon.

    • steveccnv says:

I agree with your first sentence, but I also think its true, because people listen to the media too much and believe them.

Now take the opposite of that, what if Trump was a dem and the media loved him, then I don’t think people would be saying him not being a career politician was a weakness.

      • sb7mvp says:

Then you would be wrong. Joe Biden’s greatest strength is also his greatest weakness and people are still pointing that out. I even pointed it out in the post.

    • steveccnv says:

Except Trump’s net worth went down since becoming president, so…

Biden didn’t win either debate. He won’t talk about Hunter, he basically lied about everything in both debates and when called out he laughed, as if to say FU I can lie and get away with it.

We all know politicians lie, it’s part of the job, but there’s a difference in lying before an election on where you stand on things. No one knows where Biden stands on anything based on what he says, but we know where he stands. Trump has stood by what he said before he became president on the most part. It’s one thing to say you’re going to do something, but can’t work out a deal, it’s entirely different to do the opposite of what you said.

  88. ocalarob says:

Its clear Joe was trying to tell what he thought the avg person would want to hear. The avg person is smarter than that. What he proposes is unrealistic. Add that to the fact that he’s corrupt how can you believe him

  89. ocalarob says:

He said that the emails came from russia. Does anyone believe that? The head of national intelligence confirmed that didnt happen. So he’s trying to cover up his wrongdoings by blatantly lying. How can anyone consider voting for him?

    • steveccnv says:

He also said, he didn’t take any money from these foreign adversaries, which is technically true. He got the money from Hunter.

  90. ocalarob says:

Maybe the next election the dems can get bernie Madoff to run. He would be a better candidate than joe

  91. ocalarob says:

Joe is going to become oil independent. Because it will help the climate. Trump asked what about china? Will they do that.
    What he’s proposing is unrealistic

  92. ocalarob says:

The very worst is that joe said he will ahut down the country. And you can believe that. The dems have already shutdown dem run states like new york and people are fleeing from the area. Economic suicide

  93. steveccnv says:

Joe lied about fracking, but even if he didn’t Kamala clearly states that she would ban it. Does anyone believe Biden can mentally function for 4 years? If elected Kamala will be the acting president at some point. Does that socialist/communist scare anyone?

    • ocalarob says:

They went both ways on fracking. States that oppose fracking they are against it and the states that need fracking like penn they are for it. What a great political policy. You cant lose

  94. wyoming85 says:

    OD that is great news!
I know she’s working very hard to get back home to your grumpy old ass! 😉

  95. steveccnv says:

Who won the debate? We know the deck is always stacked in the dems favor, the moderators have all been dems and the questions are 95% dem talking points.

  96. ocalarob says:

Lets not forget Joes magic solution for covid. We should wear masks that will solve the problem. Will someone tell the idiot we are already wearing masks

  97. ocalarob says:

Ill admit im very biased. I learmed that from the left. So answering who won the debate is not a good question for me. All bets are off biden is not trustworthy Trump is and thats the bottomline.

    • steveccnv says:

To define what I think you mean by trustworthy is doing after elected what you said you were going to do before elected. We all know Biden says whatever the current audience wants to hear, so he’s back and forth, then looks right into the camera as if to say I’m looking right into your eyes, so it must be true (like everything you read on the internet).

  98. ocalarob says:

    Biden will sell you out

  99. CavalierKong says:

That run by Jones was hilarious, lol.
