The first big mover was actually a subtraction from the roster as the Dolphins parted ways with LB Kyle Van Noy after recently (last season) signing him to a 4YR/$51M deal. That move was followed by the eventual trade between the Dolphins and the Texans which sent DE Shaq Lawson to HOU for ILB Benardrick McKinney. The Dolphins gave the Texans our 6th RD 2021 pick in exchange for their 2021 7th RD pick. Lawson played both OLB and DE for the Dolphins last season but never really hit his stride in our defense. Van Noy was brought here for his leadership and his playmaking, but the surprising rise of OLB Andrew Van Ginkel helped make Van Noy expendable. While AVG played mostly weak side and and Van Noy played primarily strong, both were interchangeable. I’m guessing the new #55 will undergo a uniform number change as the Eagles would say Ol’ 55, Jerome Baker owns that number. McKinney will definitely solidify the middle next to Baker and and the bigger (6’4 260) McKinney brings more physicality there while Baker brings the sideline to sideline quickness and speed.
In addition to McKinney, the Dolphins further solidified the run defense with the addition of DT Adam Butler. Butler was a rotational guy on the Patriots defensive line with only 12 starts in 4 seasons but he played in all but one game, and he averaged about 45% of the defensive snaps, so he had a good amount of playing time. He’s a DT that gets good penetration, with 20 tackles for loss, 15 sacks and 22 QB hits over parts of 4 NFL seasons. Unfortunately for former Dolphins DT Davon Godchaux, that most likely seals his fate and he most likely will not be returning here. (Update!) Godchaux has signed a 2 year deal with the Patriots, thanks to a couple of FMU NFL insiders.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Dolphins signed RB Malcolm Brown from the LA Rams. Brown while never a premier ballcarrier or workhorse, he brings a more physical running style than what we currently have in Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed and Patrick Laird. Brown was basically the 3rd cog in the Rams run game behind Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson. Brown had a career high 419 yards on 101 carries with a 4.1YPC. He also caught 23 balls for 162 yards and had 5 rushing TD’s. I believe this still leaves the door wide open to draft a RB, even an early pick as I think we still need a talent upgrade there. The Dolphins just recently signed former Texans WR Will Fuller to a 1 year deal. Honestly, I never wanted any part of Fuller because although he has the speed we need, he’s a guy that has a tough time staying on the field, and considering the fact that we already have that in DeVante Parker, that doesn’t give our young QB any kind of stability when guys are constantly missing time. In any case, the Dolphins do get a guy who averages on the high end of YPR (14.9) overall but a career high 16.7YPR last season along with 8 TD’s. Also keep in mind that both Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson are set to return this season after opting out due to COVID last season. Wilson and Hurns together count less than $8M against the cap so don’t count them out just yet.
We didn’t get Joe Thuney, David Andrews or even re-sign Ted Karras, so the Dolphins decided to gamble on former ravens C Matt Skura. Much like Fuller was to me, Skura wasn’t really on my radar. Skura was a 4 year started for a stout Ravens O-line, but he has had injury issues, most recently having a devastating injury 11/19 in which he tore just about anything and everything in his knee including his ACL/PCL/MCL and dislocating his knee cap. To Skura’s credit, he toughed it out last season starting 12 games and playing in 15. As to whether he’s an upgrade over Ted Karras remains to be seen, but Skura was definitely the less expensive option. It’s once again, possible we draft a center with Creed Humphrey, Landon Dickerson Josh Myers, and Trey Smith available. Dickerson and Humphrey could go as early as 2nd RD but the others should be available in the middle rounds.
There are rumors still swirling linking former Seahawks RB Chris Carson and the Dolphins. While I have no problem with bringing in Carson, in my mind at least it would have made the signing of Malcolm Brown unnecessary, but Brown at $1.75M hardly breaks the bank. If we do get Chris Carson, that would almost certainly turn our attention away from drafting a RB early in this draft, meaning no Najee Harris, Javonte Williams or Travis Etienne.
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Former Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell has moved to dismiss Dominion’s defamation lawsuit. She argues that when she accused the election systems company of being part of an election-rigging scheme with ties to Venezuela, “no reasonable person would conclude” those “were truly statements of fact”
Too funny. She put this out in front of every microphone she could find. Guess this is the Alex Jones “just an entertainer” defense.
First true statement she has ever made
Amazing how a $1.3 billion lawsuit can bring out the truth.
I’m still waiting on Biden’s first true statement
100 million doses in the first 100 days. They already surpassed that. So there you go
And that’s all you got, but it’s based on a lie, since he didn’t do anything like he claims
They have the evidence the machines were used to cheat. Not sure what evidence they have on Dominion
Whatever the case, the prime accuser of Dominion as being a lead in the election machine rigging just put out that no reasonable person should have believed her.
You’d think if she had the evidence on that she’d claimed over and over before that she had would have chosen a different defense.
The person who claims that now admits that no one could have taken that seriously – her sworn court papers say that
It’s not viable by any stretch now to suggest that’s there evidence to support what Powell said, when she is literally saying, you should have laughed when I said that instead of taking me seriously.
It’s worth nothing that Powell is one of the attorneys the trump legal team went out to distance themselves from
But nonetheless, she threw a lot of poop at the walls that was regurgitated by other talking heads and makes up what a lot of people believed then and/or believe now
A lot of,people got taken for a ride while she was getting rich

Alabama RB Najee Harris’ flight from Dallas to Birmingham was cancelled last night due to lightning, so with no other travel options available, Harris drove nine hours to make it to Alabama’s Pro Day by 10 am today. He’s not even working out today but wanted to support teammates.
What a kick ass teammate

The Giants have been unafraid to be aggressive this offseason, inking 3 notable deals:
1️⃣ DL Leonard Williams: 3-years, $63M ($21M/year)
2️⃣ WR Kenny Golladay: 4-years, $72M ($18M/year, max value of $76M)
3️⃣ CB Adoree’ Jackson: 3-years, $39M ($13M/year, max value of $44.5M)
Most likely we get to play the Gmen this year

Dolphins announce they’ve re-signed WR and special teams gunner Mack Hollins. More competition for backend of WR room.
Sorta like the kid, but gonna be tough for him to make the roster.
“We always used to make fun of the people who won the headlines in March—but here I believe we really improved our team.”

What a Homer, thinking that a lot today
Can’t blame Kraft for rooting for his team, even if the game plan has major changes.
No, but you can for stating what he just did

Will Fuller speaking for 1st time as a Dolphin. He says he wanted to take a one-year prove-it deal to show to Miami and NFL he could stay healthy.
Fuller says he’s talked to Tua Tagovailoa on the phone and via text. He says they made plans to work out together in Miami soon.
Camp Fodder:
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced that they have signed wide receiver Kai Locksley.
Locksley was a quarterback at UTEP, appearing in 20 games over two seasons (2018-19). He completed 186-of-350 passes (53.1 pct.) for 2,266 yards and nine touchdowns. Locksley also rushed 237 times for 875 yards (3.7 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. He transferred to UTEP from Iowa Western Community College, where he was named the 2017 NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.

So, do I understand this correctly? Fuller never finished serving his suspension and will miss time out of his one year 10M contract in Miami? Does anyone here know how many more games he has to serve?
1
First game. And absent that maybe he would have gotten $10.6 mill.
Beer me 🍺
Ever had a problem there?
How about Rock?
He is
Well noted….was just going off the $10 mi everyone is pitting out. Guess should have been $ 11.4 for 16 games.
One more game to serve in his suspension. He will miss opening day.
Maybe talking politics is a bad idea. Do that and steve gets testy on all posts. Still luv you man though. 🙂
Yeah, good idea
Good idea in general, but if another thing comes up like Sidney Powell saying “don’ t believe what I said”….. gonna be tough to resist.

Ahhhhh, yeah, right……doesn’t apply to her though…smh
Mack Hollins is a really good gunner on STs. He’s always one of the first guys in the PR’s face.
The schedule makers are probably already working on a way to make our first game against the Patriots to take advantage of fuller being out
Pointed that out last week
New Jakeem Grant
He can make it, if he’s also a bowling ball and can catch. Wonder what the han size is
I’d take a shot, but this scares me Hands (2.0/10)
Well Tyreek’s are only 8″ so…maybe there is hope
Looked moore like a 5.0
Jumps like an FN cat
“Assuming Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson are back with the team after opting out last year, the Dolphins now have 12 wideouts under contract for 2021.”
Probably only 6 make it but I’m not sure all of those guys will make it to camp.
And in the draft we should add one if not two more. Talk about competition.
Maybe one WR 1-4 and one late. But I don’t think we’ll load up on rookie WRs.
Could see 2 in the first 3 rounds. Top one would be a boundary and the other a slot guy.
Stanger, we need to address some other positions too. I don’t see two WRs in the top 3 rounds at all. I think there is a better chance that we don’t draft any in the top 3 rounds.
Guess we shall see. And as things tend to go… we’ll probably just take one. The middle of your zero and my two.
Stanger, it all depends on how we feel about who we already have at WR. We have guys who can play. Hurns and Wilson’s status will be key. Parker, Fuller and Williams should be locks.
Oh yeah cue in David to tear Wilson to shreds. LOL
Fuller is a one-year and was talking slot as well. No doubt the 3 you mention are locks for game day though. Gotta think future though. Pitts comes in and some WR makes the team.
One year for Fuller doesn’t mean much. He’s on the team in 2021. We can always draft a WR in 2022. Pitts as a rare talent is a possibility though as we all discussed last night. That #3 pick is going to be very valuable.
Stanger, remember when we were following what the Houston pick would be during the season? Will it be maybe 4 or 5 but could be 7-11 etc.? #3 fell right in our lap. 🙂
I fought with Ken about it every week, lol.
Hulk vs Kong
I’m already getting pulverized by Godzilla in two days, no desire to get whipped even worse by hulk, lol.
But I’m glad things went my way during the season and the Texans ended up at #3. 🙂
I figured the Texans would win about 8 games or more and all the excitement about how good our first was going to be was folly. Happy to be wrong on that!
^
The #3 pick will conjure phone calls for a trade. I won’t be surprised one bit if we trade down. You can do that when you have two 1’s and two 2’s. 😉
Bowden jersey #15
Wilson jersey #15
Fuller jersey #15
Who wins?
The answer is simple: Davone Bess 😉 🙂 😀

NC? ACC? Hmmmm…..not exactly SEC or Big Ten. Mack Brown loved and platooned off Ricky Williams. That was at Texas and Big 12. It’s a small conference, imo.
———————-
Honestly, I wanted to write Javonte Williams off, being he was probably just another ACC RB. Now keep in mind, I’m usually watching ACC games on a Saturday afternoon… but COVID this year.
This past NCAA season (again, COVID) is probably the least I’ve watched college football in over a decade. Anyway… now you know why I didn’t watch much college football this past year.
When I put on Javonte’s tape (thanks to the suggestion of BBM, coupled with how high so many pundits had him), I was DAZZLED! Can’t hold it against him, being he was an ACC runner… and that’s something that’s hard to fight off, being there are BEASTS in the SEC, against BEAST competition.
So we’ve now got 12 (TWELVE!) WRs signed to our roster, and it’s over a month before Draft day. Clearly, we want a MAJOR competition at the position, so as to light fires under asses. Aside from that, I can’t read the tea leaves as it pertains to our Draft.
We’ve now reached the “KYLE PITTS IS THE GREATEST” point of this Draft season, presented to you by the media. Next week, it will be somebody else. And the week after, somebody else.
I see SO many Phins fans now saying that Kyle Pitts should be our pick @ R1P3. Last week? It was Jaylen Waddle. The week before? It was Penei Sewell. The week before? It was DeVonta Smith. The week before? It was Najee Harris (@ R1P3!!!).
I’ve gone through this so very many times throughout the many years… it’s tiring. I’m tired of the media dictating our thoughts. I appreciate independent thought(!), not some whimsical nonsense being presented/spewed to us daily by the national media… especially the one who thought we needed to draft a Center because Mike Pouncey recently retired!
See what I mean?!!
As my guy Steve would say, “U75″s!
The reason why they keep changing it is, so they can say they got it right and the proof is in the video.
6, 12, 18 months after the draft they’ll run a commercial on someone they predicted once out of 15 mocks, to show us all how smart they are.
ESPN does this shit all the time
i don’t think you spend #3 on a T.E. you either consider compensation for the pick or spend that pick on a qb, LT or elite pass rusher
he will probably go top 10, you may still trade back and get him.
I agree take a shot of him going 8th, because you have 5 guys counting Sewell,, that will work with the 1st pick. Parsons would also be OK with 1st pick.
I also don’t consider him a TE, so…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZY9ULMxk6jk
Cowherd is so oversimplifying the situation. What he should be saying is Ryan Fitzpatrick who had been in that offense for 2 seasons, and the league for 16 years ran the offense better than Tua. No shit! It’s OK for Fitzpatrick to get 16 years experience to be at this point but Tua gets only 10 games? He would have been saying the very same shit about Fitzpatrick in his first 3 seasons. That’s the problem. Can we let a QB develop, especially after playing a season with no training camp or preseason? It’s ridiculous and this idiocy needs to stop!
I wouldn;t want that ohio state QB anyway, especially at 3
No he’s not allowed to get a few games under his belt, he is what he is dammit🤪
You can always tell who watches the game and knows what they’re looking at and the people who don’t.
I agree, most of these jokers just write what the beat writers write, and since our beat writers are clowns…
We re-signed Elandon Roberts
Might as well, its cheap, but he’ll be out for a while. It gives us other options later in the season, when the typical scrubsbare playing, because someone got hurt
Good! High character guy who will give us depth down the stretch.
Cap now at 10.582m under, with Foster being added, but don’t see anyone else added, since we were 12m under. Foster is listed at costing only around 200k net.
Our top 51 on over the cap has maybe 4 guys I see, that might be cut, Foster, Pandey, Wiltz and Munson, but 4 guys likely to stick below 51, Ferguson, Bowden, Scarlett, and Jones.
Tough decisions ahead for the coaching staff, at least 5 guys we’re used to seeing will be cut
Wrong Scarlett, it was Jordan, that was under, so 3 and not 4 under the top 51
7 WRs listed in the top 51, so 2 of those including Foster may be gone. With Foster and Hollins we currently have 9 WRs that each have a chance to make the roster, add in a drafted one to make it 10
Something has got to give, Hollins could make it on STs alone, so I believe we keep 6 WRs, and try to trade off 4 of them, Grant, Hurns, Bowden and Foster, if he shows in preseason. Perry not included in the 10.
Parker
Fuller
Williams
Wilson
Grant
Hurns
Bowden
Foster
Hollins
Draftee
11 Perry
Was watching Tua national championship highlights vs GA and Robert Foster had a catch or 2.
In the moment Tua looked great in that game, but going back and watching the highlights not so much.
If I didn’t know who he was and just watched game tape I wouldn’t have drafted him at 5
WTF? I’ve been unable to sign in here for weeks! I don’t have anything to say but dammit I want to be able to say something just in case I might have something to say! 😂

It’s OK for Fitzpatrick to get 16 years experience to be at this point but Tua gets only 10 games?
_____________________________________________
Tua had 93 yards passing against the Rams, 83 against denver, 94 against raiders, 145 against NE & 169 against the chargers for an average of 116.8 yards per game, he had a terrible game against Buffalo, played catch up against KC, arz & cincy were the only half way decent games that he had.
I understand giving him time but starting 3 games and not being able to surpass 100 yards doesnt seem to bode well for the future.
watching him play is like watching paint dry.
Fitzpatrick in his rookie season:
56.3 %
777 yards
4 TDs
8 INTs
58.2 QB rating.
***
Ya know what that means? Absolutely nothing.
We want to end up with a better QB than him too though. Fitz thinks Tua cam be and he’s a Harvard man…. so who am I to doubt. 🙂
Part of why we got Isaiah Wilson on the cheap. And that 140 wasn’t on an interstate.
————————————–
According to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Department, the pursuit of Wilson began at about 3:50 a.m. on Jan. 7, when Officer Stephen Kinney observed a dark-colored Dodge Charger with Tennessee license plates fly past him traveling eastward on University Parkway. Activating his radar, Kinney clocked the vehicle going 123 miles per hour, then activated his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to catch the vehicle and initiate a traffic stop.
Kinney began to catch up to the vehicle before he noticed it accelerating away, and he advised his dispatch office that speeds of the chase had reached 140 miles per hour. The original responding officer stopped his pursuit because of the high speeds the car was traveling at.
The car was eventually discovered crashed on the side of the road by an undercover ICE agent, who held the occupants, one of which was Wilson [the driver], at gunpoint.
He’s an FN idiot. Thinks he’s gangsta.
In a few years, reality will set in, usually after some woman he meets, knocks some sense into him
And by the time he gets sense… no more NFL money. My guess is becomes a bodyguard. Some celebrity or drug dealer will say “that’s Isaiah my NFL first rounder.”
Cartels are on the border distributing wristbands. No one gets into the US without one.
Wonder how much they have to pay to get one.
But that’s aiight, nothing to see here.
Absolutely disgusting what biden has done to our country in just a short time.
Now he wants to have congress ban assault weapons, instead of helping the mentally disturbed or he’ll just write another EO
More people are trying to cross the border , and a big part of that is they think Biden is a softer touch on that. That’s an ironic negative. Don’t find his aspirations disgusting though. Starting with most Americans are in favor of an assault weapon ban. And we’ve had one before….. country still going.
Or that biden has said to come in.
So you’re OK with lifting the philibuster? Changing election laws? Packing the SC? Lockdowns? Passing covid relief with most of the money going to kickback pet projects? Nothing disgusting there.
If you believe the fake media Americans are in favor of the ban. The difference with this ban is its going to lead to confiscation of all guns.
What no comment about the cartels? So you agree that’s disgusting?
Lots of questions there, but you said “Absolutely disgusting what biden has done to our country.” Far as I know most of the things you mention haven’t happened …. and some would be in favor of and some would not. You want to talk about one specifically more than glad too. Each would take a detailed conversation.
But yeah I believe the Fake media, or at least see it as an info starting point. And when you start talking about the “confiscation of all guns” is just a different reality for me. I’ve read the Supreme Court opinions. Check out DC v Heller. Makes clear what can and cannot be done.
You don’t find the covid relief bill disgusting? Let alone they waiting so long to pass it, because Pelosi did want Trump to get any credit.
What about the crisis on the border? You’re OK with what the cartels are doing?
steve — it was the 4th or 5th Covid relief bill. Why should I be for the ones passed under Trump and against the one passed under BIden? Ad why am I supposed to be worried about whether Trump gets credit for the last one?
And not in favor of the cartels at all, but not like they formed since January. Trump used to talk about “the Coyotes” all the time. By that he meant the cartels.
It’s not about who passes the bill, it’s about what’s in the covid bill.
Straight up question, are you OK with all the fluff in the covid bills? All of them had fluff this one more than the others.
Truthfully don’t know what fluff was in the bill I should or should not be against. Do know it got us to 2k in direct payments and Trump was for that, even going against the GOP guys in the Senate. to try and get it.
What did you see as fluff? And understand the bill had a lot of other projects rolled in….. but that is business as usual on the Hill.
All the other projects that are rolled in is the fluff. Why is it OK for Pelosi’s museum to get money and all of these stupid overseas projects to get money? Why can’t the bill just be covid relief?
This is my problem with our govt, its swampy from both sides, they get kickbacks from these foreign countries, that’s why they send them money.
These career politicians that steal our tax dollars to benefit themselves isn’t ok. That’s why Trump has so many loyal followers, because he was fighting this corruption. It’s also why they opposed him at every turn, because he was taking away the hand that was feeding them, at least he tried to.
When I see someone that’s opposed to Trump I think they’re either corrupt politicians, corrupt indirectly like the media, and those that are naive or just don’t care about all the corruption.
You said you didn’t care about the corruption, but I think you have something to gain
I’m a retired guy living in Florida…….what exactly can I have to gain? If helps any my old office was the Trump administrations go to in our area. We’re the right wing of our field. Got hurt bad when he lost.

Good to see the young man putting in the work with his teammates. (look how high that release point is!) LOL
It does look higher, maybe he’s working on that. The question will be can he keep his accuracy?
He doesn’t need to change his rollout mechanics, just in the pocket, and should continue using different deliveries, based on the situation.
I had to change my throwing motion for softball. My natural motion was side arm. Couldn’t get the velocity, so I changed it to over the top. Wasn’t really a big deal, just had to force myself to do it, until it became habit
It really shouldn’t be too tough for him. I mean he is a natural right hander that was forced to throw left handed by his dad. I think that also leads to some of his mechanical wonkeyness. He IS right handed but throws the football lefty.
fitz only played 4 games, almost avged 200 yards passing on a crappy rams team in 05

little more attractive is all I was going for. They are best buds though.

Guess I don’t owe you a beer anymore. 🙂
In that video that Rob posted he basically says that Arizona was smart to use a first round pick on a QB two years in a row. ummmmm NO it was stupid to draft Rosen. It was a huge mistake that wasted limited resources!
NO Cowturd Miami should not draft Justin Fields. They should trade back and get another 1st for next year and take the BPA at the slot they slide back to.
My stinky opinion.
He’s referring to AZ taking a QB 2 years in a row, after the first one was a bust.
Evaluate the situation now and don’t worry about what you have invested. Only do it if it makes sense going forward.
You think they shouldn’t have drafted Kyler? They should just roll with Rosen or someone else the next 3 years?
as I said in my post the mistake was drafting Rosen
Stanger – Where are you reading that “most” Americans want to ban assault rifles? If such a thing existed outside of the military.
Been reading polls for 20 years that say that is true. Just take that on my word. Normally the convo on that after turns to there is no such thing as an “assault rifle.” And I get that part as well, even if assume what is banned would be in the nitty gritty of a 100 page bill.
We know the polls have been biased for a long time at least 20 years, they play politics with them.
Last time I was in England I read a piece on how/why they fixed the polls
I’ve been seeing a trend in recent mock drafts (say, the last two weeks)… including from Mel Diaper Jr’s new one today: Najee Harris to the Bills @ R1P30.
I know, I know… don’t worry about what other teams do, I get it. But still, if that doesn’t scare ya, I don’t know what will.
As one who knows a great deal about the Stealers*, their moves in FA no longer necessitate taking a RB in round 1. They’ve got to protect Big Ben and any RB they acquire, and find someone to replace Bud Dupree (opposite TJ Watt). Their plans have changed due to FA fallout.
To make a long story short, I don’t think we need to hop in front of the Stealers* (R1P24) to get the RB of our choice… we need to hop in front of the Bills (R1P30). We may have gained some breathing room.
AGAIN, I do NOT want to be in the predicament we’ve been in for many years… not being able to get one of the top RBs. Once the run starts, we’d better be ready to trade up, or just be the one to take the first RB off the board.
Thus, I’m seeing the run on RBs start late in the 1st round, just as last year. And just my opinion… I think R1P18 is too early to select either of Najee or Javonte.
If we trade down from R1P3, we’ll gain the ammo to trade back up into the late first round to get the RB of our choice.
Example…
R1P(top-10): BPA
R1P18: EDGE
R1P(late-20s): Najee or Javonte
TBH, this is the same principle I’ve been going with since late January… only we shouldn’t need to hop in front of the Stealers*.
As for “don’t worry about what other teams do”, you can look at like there is nothing you can do to stop them from making their pick. The Bills are a very good team, the idea is to get on their level.
If you fear Najee Harris going to BUF that much, then why is #18 too early? Teams follow their boards and draft the prospect they like. It all depends on where we have him graded just like every other prospect.
I’m a ‘nit-picker’, trying to get the very best value out of our picks, that’s all. Najee @ R1P18 would be acceptable to me, but I’d feel as though I left too much talent on the board, knowing the run on RBs will naturally come a bit later.
We need an EDGE in the worst way, IMO. I’d advise taking one @ R1P18, were elite is still on the board. If we can move up and down as I suggest, we can ALSO get Najee.

I want the best value out of our picks too, that’s why I’m not worrying about Buffalo and want to trade down from 3
I don’t expect the Chiefs or Bucs to take an RB, not sure about the 3 in front of us in rd2, but we’re not that far from pick 30, that a run on RBs will hurt us. I’m OK with that 2nd NC RB, should the others fall fast
I want one of the two best RBs this draft has to offer. No more waiting for ‘hand-me-downs’.
Is there an actual tally on this blog for beers owed
If not, I can prep a chart and circulate it
🐖💨
We have 4 picks in the top 50, I think we’re in good shape to add good players.
Very much agreed, and I want to MAXIMIZE our potential.
What do you mean by maximize?
Maximize – trade down from 3 and don’t trade back into the 1st to get ahead of Buffalo
I think our RB group is pretty good already. No it’s not flashy but I want see more consistent blocking in the running game. I’m sure we’ll draft a RB between 1-4 but it might be a RB none of us are talking about.
Here is the beer owe chart
Stanger: owes 🐷 4 beers
Ken: owes 🐷 4 beers
Mike: owes 🐷 7 beers
Phish: owes countless beer to 🐷
Son: owes 🐷 tequila
Tim: don’t even get me started. Still calculating
Steve: owes 🐷 2 beers
ORob: owes 🐷 beer lite
M13: owes 🐷 a Star Wars mug for the beer
Kong: 🐷 will deem your debt paid If you just stop fighting lizards
Rock: owes 🐷 4 beers
Krishna: owes 🐷 2 beers
David: owes 🐷 1 prime cut of your pet
Randy: owes 🐷 2 beers
You guys should double check to make sure your numbers match mine, if you come up with a different number it’s bc you are wrong.
LOL!
Lol
LOL
Mmmmmm…beer-braised pork ribs, St. Louis cut….
Best post of the day….can’t wait to buy you a beer and I don’t need a reason, especially when I don’t know why I owe you a beer….
I’m all in on beef ribs, too!

To get as many great players in the Draft as possible. To *attack* the Draft. To milk every once that we can get out of this Draft.
… and still come away from this Draft with a 2022 1st-rounder.
Oh okay as opposed to a boring draft with nothing but mediocre players? LOL
JK/BB by the way. 🙂
LOL, but seriously… I want to KILL this MFing Draft! I’d be very, very aggressive in this one, being we have leverage. Move up and down as necessary, and get the elite players we deem as game-changers.
Can’t recall the last time we’ve had this much leverage in a Draft. We can make whatever happen, if we so wish.
Just remember last year there were no early trades and the top three QBs were selected as they were available – Burrow #1, Tua #5 and Herbert #6. It’s easier said then done to trade down from #3. The price is usually too much.
What do we think will happen first 3 picks including a team wanting to trade up?
1. JAX Trevor Lawrence
2. NYJ ?
3. MIA ? (what team is trading up for who?)
I’m hoping the Jest don’t trade back, but select a QB instead. Then I can see Carolina or Detroit trading up to select a QB at 3.
Detroit needs a QB (assuming they don’t see Goff as their answer) and they pick right before Carolina, so those two teams hopefully will be vying for that #3 QB.
San Fran also needs a QB, but they are at 12, so not sure they will be in the hunt if teams do start competing for that higher slot.
Kong, do you think the other QBs are worth the cost that it will be to trade up based on past trades? I’m not sure that they are.
The Jets are looking to run the 49ers offense which is run, run and play-action. They might take Penei Sewell and have those two big bookend tackles with Mekhi Becton for years to come. Then there were are at #3.
I have no idea if they are worth it or not. I don’t get into evaluation, and it doesn’t matter what I think anyway, lol.
If a team sees one of those QBs as a franchise QB, then there is a possibility they try to trade up to get him. We see it happen some years, and not in others. From what I’ve read, there are 3 QBs who might be worth making a move for. I’m hoping we are the team that can capitalize on that.
I won’t consider it a huge loss if we can’t or don’t trade down. If we stay at #3, we still get a top tier talent. but trading down to #8 and picking up another #1 next year and an extra pick or two in day two this year would be oh so sweet.
If the Jest take Sewell instead of a QB, then I can see no one trading to #3 pretty easily, because it’s likely the next QB isn’t taken until #7 with Detroit. So even if the Niners look to trade up, there is no reason to jump all the way to #3.
M13, be prepared to select prospects on your board with your slotted picks and be open to trade possibilities if they’re available. But it takes two to Tango. It’s pretty hard to screw up #3, #18, #36 and #50. Then also have a 3rd and 4th.
Tim
Jags – Lawrence
Jets – Sewell
Mia – Trade W/Car. Mia gets 8, 39 and 2022 1st
Jets are taking a QB…. if only cause Darnold is in this 5th year option. And if they decide to keep him smart move is to trade the pick.
He’s in his 4th season/5th year option decision. They don’t have to give him his 5th year option but can still roll with him and then evaluate his season. If he does well he gets one of those big contracts in 2022.
The Jets have a lot of draft capital to build around Sam Darnold and then revisit the position in 2022. That’s why I think they’re going to take Sewell. Safe pick in most people’s opinion and they have another 1st, a 2nd and two 3rd’s. They also have two 1st rd picks next year.
I think they are going to be a much better team this year. The AFC East is going to be tough.
Completely agreed about the AFC east and the jest being better. Legitimately might be the best division in the NFL next year.
Swap of #3 with 7, 8 or 12.
So are we talking a 2021 2nd and 5th and a 2022 1st and 3rd or something like that at a minimum? I’m playing it conservatively and it’s still expensive.
The lower the pick the more the price goes up.
One thing for sure is no one will get Dion Jordan trade up value.
Conservative is probably the way to go. I’d be willing to bet if we do trade down, we won’t get what the chart says we should, and that is ok with me. I’d take phelon’s trade above even though that may not be top value for #3.
You can go cheaper if you’re cool with a top 12. If you think there is a drop off after 5 or 6 you don’t give bargains.
Yep, that’s how I see it too. It all depends on how the top of the board is set
I like those picks, because of Waddle’s speed, he can take the next step in the NFL.
Chase and Smith have already had their peak seasons and with Smith’s slender build and not super fast its going to be tough stay on the field, with Chase he has just above average measurables, so what made these 2 great in college may not transfer to NFL.
I like Waddle a lot. More than Smith. I’d be cool with Chase, Pitts or Waddle. Who the hell am I kidding, I have no idea who the next big time player is. LOL

Right on! And I used to be able to “Tango”, though it’s been some time. LOL
I learned to “Tango” in college, but since then, I’ve done more “MC Hammer” dancing than anything else. And again, it’s been some time.

Two many of one thing. Only so many guys can play. We’re not playing 8 rookies over established vets at 4 positions.
He’s fun to watch
one thing good that can come from Watsons legal issues is that now Carolina needs a QB, with Watson out of the picture they may want to trade up at any cost.
The Texans can’t trade Watson because he could end up on i think the exempt list?? not sure how that works but i think he still gets paid yet he’s suspended until the outcome of the legal issues.
a team trading for him could be on the hook for 10m this year and 22 m next year against their cap without him playing.
he could end up in prison.
doesn’t seem likely any team would want to be involved in that.

Mia – WILSON!
there, i fixed it
Lol…Who knows? You are as likely to guess right as anyone.
i doubt that will happen, it’s admitting a mistake by this F.O. what’s worse is passing him up may compound that mistake.
if i were to draft a RB, it would definitely be javonte williams, i would take him over any other rb in this draft.
He’s probably my favorite
I wouldn’t shed a tear if we drafted Harris
no more alabama players please, unless of course its on the ol or dl
Zach wilson is a better version of the second coming of aaron rodgers
Just curious, so you want us to draft Zach Wilson. What’s your plan going forward at QB? What do we do with Tua?
His plan is to give up on Wilson by 2022…lol
I would leave him on the team unless he has trade value, if i draft wilson that kind’ve sends a message about tua so i doubt there would be much trade value.
I keep him on the team as the 3rd string qb and hope he can develop
i start brisett, and let wilson take over down the road.
if tua progresses he’ll be in comp with wilson next year.
brisetts on a one year deal so he’ll be gone
if not i dump him.
We slipped to #15 in the power rankings. Our season is over!
Tua’s potential must’ve been taken into consideration.
This is the first year in a while I didn’t hear we were in the late 20s, early 30s at this point.
i think this F.O. has already admitted a mistake by pursuing a legit starting qb in brisett, if Tua is that good why the need for brisett?
He didn’t start anymore last year. Why do you think a guy who wasn;t a started at any point in 2020 is a 2021 starter?
he was injured and rivers took over
brisett had MCL issues, tried to play thru it
Mike, all this Wilson talk is moot because i highly doubt they take him, even though that may be the right decision, if they did that it would appear as if they don’t have a clue.
years in the future i can read it now.
“why didn’t we take zach wilson, we had the chance.”
drew brees all over again.
Brisset has played 49 NFL games and has 6000 yards, and 31 TDs. That’s kinda terrible isn’t it? By the standards used for Tua being terrible, that’s terrible for a 5 year vet.
not sure what his stats are, stats don’t tell the true picture, brisett started in ne so there’s familiarity with this coaching staff. he has a good throwing motion and has been a starter in this league. i would say he’s just as good as fitz if not better.
he’ll certainly be better than tua.
I agree, stats don’t tell his story.
our offense will struggle with tua at the helm, dc’s will crowd the field on him, they will make him beat them deep as that’s his weakness, they will try to take away the the run game and short routes and get in his face.
being that he’s so short and has a low delivery, if he doesn’t get rid of the ball right away he’s toast.
i don’t see him fixing that low delivery.
look at brisetts throwing motion, see how high the ball is over his head, tua doesnt get the ball above his head, that’s why he struggles to find the deep wr, he has to hold the ball too long, by that time these tall dl are blocking his path to throw the ball and he gets stuck then sacked.
tua isn’t 6′ brissett is 6’4
ORob,
But he’s not better than Tua. He was the full time starter at Indy twice and they let him go. 32 teams this year passed on the chance to make him their starter. If we wanted that, Fitz is a much, much better QB than Brisset. Yet we let him go.
I’m not saying Tua is amazing or will be. Brisset is no better than current Tua based off 5 years of data. Tua is the starter. Brisset goes back to doing what he does best, sit the bench.
i hope you’re right, because we are headed for tua as our starter, i may be wrong about him, i’m just going by what i saw last season, the games he couldn’t break 100 yards passing in when we needed to make the play offs.
did you see the denver game? 83 yards passing!
I want to trade down to 6 or 7, because I expect a battle in 2021 between the Lions and Eagles for the 1st pick in 2022😛
Imagine if we get the 1st pick, what we can do with it.
Any good QBs coming out next year?
Isaiah Wilson Trade
Terms:
Dolphins receive OT Isaiah Wilson (since cut) & 2022 7th-round selection
Titans receive 2021 7th-round selection
“Miami’s grade: F
Tennessee’s grade: D
A wretched mess. Three days after officially acquiring the flat-lining first-rounder, Miami released Wilson to the wind. It didn’t take the Dolphins long to realize what Tennessee learned through his painfully ponderous rookie campaign: Wilson doesn’t appear enamored with the concept of a career in the National Football League. I’m giving the Titans a “D” because they score no points for completely botching last year’s chance at a first-round talent.” – NFL.com
Giving us an F is about right, but what if we had traded for a 3rd or 5th straight up? Would that be a double F?
Now the real U75 part, Houston gets a D in this trade, because of botching the pick last year? What an FN maroon! Last year’s pick has nothing to do with this trade. Houston got what they could for nothing.
I give nfl.com a double (secret probation) F for their analysis
Written by Crabbs, figures
If they give us an F, they should give the Titans an A
If you are grading trades, I think you have to base your grades on the two teams and who got the better of who
This probably ends up being more like C+ Titans, C- Dolphins
And most trades are probably C
Randy Moss to the Patriots was A + Patriots, F Raiders
Or the Herschel Walker trade: A+ Cowboys, F Vikings
Some one has to get an A if you give out an F. In a trade some one wins or loses and o everybody did all right, than everyone gets Cs.
Others it’s just an arbitrary feeling at the moment
The article that came out against Wilson being arrested in high speed chase… if the Texans knew about it and we didn’t the trade could be rescinded, and our FO are morons, if they didn’t know
The Titans not Texans.
ORob,
I’m not sure about Tua either. I am sure after watching him benched last year and how quickly KVN was dumped that this regime will have no problem moving on if they don’t see improvement. I think they will tho
Steve,
That trade was terrible but how does Crabb base Tenns rating off his draft? That’s dumb since none of these issues came up last year. I think we dropped the ball because he would have been free with just a little digging. If Grier isn’t digging deeper, then I question his eval skills honestly.
I don’t mind the trade at all. Swapping the 7ths is meaningless. They took a free shot at a highly rated OT rather than let him hit waivers where they wouldn’t have got him.
Right! The Dolphins were hoping they could get him right but the guy just doesn’t care.
Swapping of 7th rounders is the capital M in meaningless
I can’t confirm this, but as far as I know the most recent 7th rounder to ever make a pro bowl was Julian Edelman (2009)
There are a couple of other good 7th rounders in the last 20 years like Marques Colston (2006) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (2005)
But it’s not an everyday occurrence by any stretch
So we flipped 7th rounders and have to wait another year to take the most unlikely diamond in the rough in football….I mean we didn’t even give up the shot in the dark, we just have to wait another year to take the shot…
I give the Titans a higher grade bc they unloaded a guy. But let’s not act like this is a crippling trade for the Dolphins….lol

I think you are underestimating the value of hitting the bullseye with a blindfold on and your back turned away from the target, throwing between the legs – which can only happen in 2021 and cannot happen in 2022
😜
That’s what we gave up in the trade. A long shot this year for a long shot next year…..
How will we ever recover

Myles Gaskin was a pretty good 7th rd pick too.

WOW!!!
Wow is right. That’s crazy!!!
Well he certainly wasn’t sitting on the couch eating Cheetos! Holy $#!T!!!
That’s an elite athlete right there.
Parsons is gonna have to be fast to outrun those allegations.
LOL
——————
WOW!!!
What are they feeding those PSU players?!!
Whoa!!! These numbers are crazy.
HGH?
The thought had crossed my mind. LOL
Parsons has some freaking catchers mitts for hands. 11″ hands. I think that is the biggest I can recall ever seeing in evaluations.
Sounds like sour grapes to me!
He was definitely hurt being released.
Can’t blame him for that at all, but also ironic that the evil genius is the one with the rep for trading away players for max value when he sees a slight downturn in play. But can’t blame him for that either.
Belichick didn’t trade Van Noy to us though.
Nope he didn’t. Was just talking about how the release went down. Belichick would do the same kind of move in a second. Just ask Richard Seymour.
Three or four players chose the Pets over us this year and Van Noy is singing hymns to belicheat because he’s butthurt. I picked them to be an improved team and vie for a playoff spot, but it sure would be nice if they crash and burn this year.
Another bad year will likely mean Belicheat will have to coach longer than any HC ever has to beat Shula’s record, and Shula might take the lead again in all time winning percentage. There is a lot of legacy riding on the Pets performance over the next few years.
Like we were saying yesterday the AFC East should be a very competitive division.
I have a sick feeling that the Dolphins may be #4 in the division this year.
You think the Jets can do better? See #3 as worst case.
Oy mates…It’s still the Jets and Fig Newton we’re talking about. The Bills are the only team we need to beat to lead the AFC-E!
Kyle Crabbs aand NFL.com on the trade for McKinney’
————————-
Benardrick McKinney Trade
Terms:
Dolphins receive LB Benardrick McKinney & 2021 7th-round selection
Texans receive DE Shaq Lawson & 2021 6th-round selection
“Houston’s grade: C
Miami’s grade: B
A former Pro Bowler, McKinney wanted out of Houston and got his wish. He missed all but four games a year ago due to a shoulder surgery, but looms as a plug-and-play starter for Miami beside Jerome Baker at inside linebacker. Houston dumps his $28.5 million salary through 2023 in exchange for Lawson, an enticing first-round athlete yet to fully realize his promise. The Dolphins have landed a proven asset; the Texans are hoping Lawson’s best stuff is still to come.” – NFL.com
If McKinney is able to recapture his prior form as a player, this may end up being an even bigger win for the Dolphins. Both players give you the feeling that they are what they are at this point in their careers. Lawson plays the more valuable position. But McKinney is the better player.
Micah Parsons pro day … runs SUB 4.4 ….. 😮
oops, looks like i’m a little late for this conversation HAHA.
Stanger

LOL — don’t even have one weapon but apparently should have 4. 🙂
Phelon — here’s what a guy was arrested with in the bathroom of an Atlanta Publix today. Did he have all the food groups covered?

I heard about this douche. Hate assholes who need to prove something. Someone should have double tapped him and claimed self defense. He was sorely under-ammo’ed tho.
And not in the picture is the body armor. Given that he was arrested without a shot, my guess is either he lost his nerve or wasn’t the kind of “hunting” scenario he had in mind when the cops were knocking at the bathroom door.
Chances are he was a, “Ya cain’t take muh guns.” wannabe operator with a little dick.
A cautionary note on Parsons. Not that this will be him.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1081343-nfl-scouting-combine-workout-warriors-who-never-translated-to-the-nfl
interesting read … with a lot of these guys there seems to be a consensus of “over drafted” on the day they were drafted. Parsons has been a top five prospect from the get-go and only dropped with the concerns that he was a mean 18 year old. lol He’s still a top five prospect as far as I’m concerned.
Yah, I think so too but I’m not going to get excited about workout numbers. Draft is still a crapshoot no matter the workout or the number drafted.
I don’t see that happening, but I’d have him rerun the 40, seems like the clock operator is a Homer.
Parsons by himself getting the sub 4.4 doesn’t raise any red flags, it was the Oweh that ran 4.36
We could use someone fast to chase down Josh Allen
Nobody wanted to play with Rockphin Tradey Pants. Every trade was rejected. 😦
TEAM PICKS
3: R1 P3 WR Ja’Marr Chase – LSU
18: R1 P18 EDGE Quincy Roche – Miami
36: R2 P4 RB Najee Harris – Alabama
50: R2 P18 LB Zaven Collins – Tulsa
81: R3 P17 C Josh Myers – Ohio State
123: R4 P18 S Andre Cisco – Syracuse
231: R7 P3 FB Ben Mason – Michigan
258: R7 P30 TE John Bates – Boise State
If we couldn’t trade down, I’d be happy with that draft
With Parsons fast 40 time it could push someone else out of top 10
I really hope these rumors about Parsons will be put to bed soon. The way I see it, he’s certainly in play for us if rumors/allegations are cleared. If not, I cannot see Steve Ross saying, ‘What the heck, what are the chances of a locker room bully causing nationwide shame to my organization?’.
And I crap you NOT, I was watching “Jeopardy!” shortly after Bullygate, and we were the punchline to one of the answers, complete with Richie Incognito’s name as the hint: “Who are the Miami Dolphins?”… Trebek said, “That’s right, choose again”.
Seriously, Ross won’t allow that to ever happen again on his watch. Parsons must either be cleared or vetted by somebody else who is in the know. LaVar Arrington (who I dearly respect) is not enough, IMO.
Were still not taking Parsons at #3, but he is in the mix now after a trade down. And probably seals that he won’t be there at #18.
Totally agreed that we won’t take Parsons @ R1P3… actually, I can’t foresee us taking anybody @ R1P3. I 100% believe we’ll be trading down.
Good, maybe they won’t draft an RB
That was my initial thought, but it’s only a 1-year deal, and Breida really didn’t show much this past season.
I hope you’re right, though!
Just saw a mock draft that had the Cardinals taking Najee Harris @ R1P15. Explanation? Cardinals know that we’re going to be taking Najee @ R1P18, and they need an elite RB… thus, they’ll beat us to the punch.
That would suck in so many ways, being I don’t want to see a run on RBs come that early… and perhaps it won’t. The way I see it, NO WAY is Najee (or any other RB in this class) worthy of a mid-round 1st selection.
If it happens, it happens: so be it. But I think the Cards would be blowing their load in over-evaluating Najee (or Javonte).
I am really am torn which with RB I like Najee it Javonte
If Harris goes before 18, I’m just targeting that early 2nd for javonte – it actually makes the decision easier in a way
I hear ya, Pig… I do.
We need to throw more passes Gesicki’s way. I think he’s underused in our offense. I think he can put up Kelce or Waller type numbers if we get him the damn ball more often.
100% agreed, Mike E.
I’m happy to see Logan Thomas do well. He has done what Tom Tebow should have done.
Tim Tebow honestly should have been the first Christian McCaffery. Logan tried hard to play QB in the NFL but at least finally decided he better do what will keep him in the league.
Question
Are there’s any criminal charges against Deshaun?
This is all civil so far isn’t it?
He has about a month to make all this mess go bye bye or he’s stuck in Houston forever.
He’ll wind up in Denver, you’ll see
Everyone knows I’ve been a big fan of Brissett but I will say the hang up with him is very similar to Tua and that’s making a quick decision to throw the damn ball. Brisket is never going to come in and do what Fitz did in the Oakland or Denver game.
One of them or both hopefully will figure it out. The ball has to come out.
Kipper has Parsons at like 30 I think, I disagree
Parsons is fast and he plays fast the video someone posted the other day was pretty incredible. His speed in our front seven would be nice.
Kipper 🐟
